Angela is dangerous in that she CAN be funny, in a cartoonish buffoonish caricature sort of way.  So it's easy to dismiss or write off her behavior, because it's hard to take her seriously.  

I agree though, TLC would not be airing any of this were the roles reversed and we would probably call out the man as a sociopath.  

Its Thursday and it's been a tough week at work.  I need to see some devestating blows being suffered.

Having finally figured out how to find and watch the early feed of this Sunday's episode, one reaction I have is that I get a strong sense of producer shenanigans in the Darcy / Tom scene in the Albanian restaurant.   

Tom's discomfort was really distressing, and Darcy's utter lack of sympathy was annoying as hell.  I just suspect the producers here.

I thought it was horrible when, after she storms off, Angela is shown sitting at the hotel bar smoking and drinking a beer (at least she's using a mug, keep classy, Ange) and complaining (to production) about Michael. He comes in bearing a Coke as a peace offering and Angela flings it across the room, "I don' wan' your damn Coke, Mikuhl"

I smell producer play, too, but even then I was still getting ragey watching Darcey's lack of care or sympathy. And if I'd been Tom, when she started going through those shoes I'd have hailed a cab and left her short ass there on the sidewalk. IF this is really her and not production malarkey then girlfriend has waaayyy more issues than proposal fever and Twin Competition Syndrome.

If they are twins we know they are the same height.  The fact that one appears slightly taller means nothing.  Not to mention that taller people are not superior so not sure what the competition is about in the first place.

I thought @Drogo said in an earlier thread that we were allowed to discuss the episode, even beforehand, as long as we kept it under the proper board? We have done it with all the other episodes with the "sneak peeks" that we've watched On Demand. We just can't discuss this episode yet under any other thread, like the couples' threads, until it airs. I have watched and discussed every episode a week in advance this season.

I'm 4'10" in heels. 6" stilletos don't make me appear taller-they make me look like a dwarf in stilletos. I've come to own the fact that if my ears were more pointed I wouldn't look out of place in a Peter Jackson film.

I love how Maria is all "I"m just so tired of you!"   I mean , Cesear is the WORST, but all he's done for her is give her $40000 +, and offer her an all expense paid vaca to Mexico. I understand where Tom is coming from.....I'm exhausted from getting up at 5am, my ankle hurts and I'm dragging 30 pieces of luggage and a giant hair weave that cries on a dime.

The last thing I want is to empty the luggage on the sidewalk for a pair of shoes and the giant lip injection whining "what about pumps?   do you like these?  do these go with my outfit?  can you open the other suitcase?"

Once again I'm stuck wondering what the hell Darcy is wearing and why?  I don't see how Tom can sell himself as a high class bloke when Darcy dresses like a hooker on vacation.  

Aren't they in Albania for days?  At 20 minutes late, unless they were literally around the corner Darcy should have just said that they could meet up tomorrow.  I'd be such an irritable shit if I got off a long place to a place I didn't want to go to, had to sit around while something riffled through their suitcase in tbe middle of the street for heels, and then I waited over 40 minutes to order dinner because or someone else.

This is one of those situations where Ben's unfamiliarity with the culture has made things a more complicated. Ben was trying to soft pedal things because he thinks telling Fidel the truth will upset Fidel. That might work in the US, but it's not true of much of Africa. Africans tend to be direct and blunt. A more appropriate response to Fidel would have been to say that "Akinyi is upset because your father didn't show and you (Fidel) have said something to upset her."

Assuming the Caesar/Maria story is not fake (and it very well could be), I have a strange sympathy for Maria's "plight."  I mean imagine starting out on a scam, finding a mark and working him for some money, and then playing the game of stringing him along for YEARS!  All those love bird messages (sexual too of course) you have to respond to...and the constant talk of making plans to meet.  She probably figured the thing would end the first time she skipped out on a meeting but NOPE!  Caesar is relentless and stupid and hopelessly naive and he WON'T GO AWAY!  She's reached a point where she doesn't even care about the money anymore she just needs it over!  lol...I'd imagine she couldn't believe he actually would give her more money when she asked.  She might even be able to rationalize it in her mind as fair compensation for the work she is doing! 

Ben is doomed.

Her comments made more sense if you put them in context of the spoilers and online rumors. She sounded very much like someone who did not want to be involved with this and was finally able to state what she'd wanted to say for a while.

I almost wish I could find a sucker like Caesar, though I don't think he sent her as much as he claimed. Every broke ass loser I dated had ME paying for everything. In hindsight, I have been the sucker in the past.

a) he is in Fidels house and doesnt know Fidels temperment because he doesn't know Fidel.

b) there was a camera crew there but also just a bunch of random people hanging around the door.  

c) Ben does not have the luxury of locking himself into a room or an Airbnb at night.

d) he doesn't know what Fidel actually said

e) as you said, Fidel already knows that he said something and akyini left.....so either he knows that what HE said upset akyini or she told him it was Ben.  Either way, if Fidel already knew or akyini told him it was Ben nothing is served by being honest.  

I think Ben doesn't want to upset Fidel, but he is also scared and I don't blame him.  He needs to go home immediately.  

I have a feeling that Fidel will strongly suggest that all these "mistakes" can be cured with more money.  Either in a higher bride price or just money. 

If he KNOWS why akyini is mad but then made Ben feel like it was his fault but offered to "intercede" on Ben's behalf and "talk to akyini" it reeks of a favor that Fidel will feel owed for.

The more you think about it, the more you realize just how much effort must have been involved for Maria.  All those years!  She had to try and maintain the illusion of actually being in some sort of relationship with this guy...he thinks they are a "couple" and is likely telling her about his daily life and blah blah blah while she either makes stuff up about her life (which would get exhausting quickly as well) or maybe at some point stopped even trying because she realized it didn't matter - Caesar just kept going anyway even if it was entirely one-sided.  And to have to engage in text message conversation and pretend to be emotionally or sexually invested??  For years??  I couldn't do it.  I happen to be in a LDR myself - only a couple hours apart though and we spend weekends together - and there's no way I could fake the text messaging if I wasn't actually in love.  It would get very very old very very fast.

I used to settle claims for an insurance company and I'd joke that I wished I could just make a recording of me saying "really........umm hmm......I can't believe that......wow......that's crazy.......sounds difficult........that must have been tough", and play it on a loop.  People I spoke to were almost never interested in having a conversation, they just wanted to talk at someone.  Which was fine and in some cases, understandable.....but I know how little effort it takes to "converse" with someone who just wants to talk at you. 

I think if we were to ask ceasar he'd know very little about Maria and most of it would be superficial stuff he asked her about.

I only ever remembered her mentioning his name in a text.  Voices don't always match people, but to me the voice on the phone didn't sound like the girl in the pics.  I'd be tickled if we later learned that ceasar was talking to a 50 year old ukranian women....who smokes.

He must have been a HUGE pest! Texting her night and day. Badgering her to meet him. She was probably exhausted trying to respond to him with any enthusiasm for five years and from the tone of her voice when she was actually talking to him you could tell she was DONE. She could have been getting more money from guys who didn’t require so much attention and were happy with a few pictures and recorded generic videos.

For some reason I didn’t see him but Stacy’s face is more jacked up than Darcy’s if that’s possible.

I never felt the voice we heard for "Maria" matched the photoshopped picture we saw. 

Hope this is ok to post here,  I was watching an old episode (2013) of Dr. Phil this morning.  A woman who met the "love of her life" on a dating app. I think he was from Nigeria or Nairobi, something like that.  They had been "dating" for a year,  every plan to meet fell thru,  he owned a construction business & always needed money.  She had sent about $190,000 over the year.  All of his money (6 million dollars) was in an overseas account under her name.  Dr. Phil hired investigators & tried everything to convince her she was being scammed but she refused to believe it.  His phone calls were just like we hear "I love you,  baby".  Then there was group of 3 guys all being scammed by the same person,  beautiful woman from another country,  one guy even proposed & sent an engagement ring based on texts & her picture.  Not only did Dr. Phil find the woman whose picture they received (a girl from US who had no idea her pictures were being used for this)  & brought her on,  he found the person who was initiating the scam. Showed the guy's her picture,  thought they were going to faint.  He could not show the picture on air,  I think he was getting fraud charges started. 

Reminded me so much of what we see on this show.

Repulsive Rebecca has the nerve to be carrying out this farce to Zied and his family when she knows she can’t possibly bring him to the US while she is still married and she only filed for divorce when she was leaving for Tunisia.

What happens to her other husband now?  Is he staying in the US?  Is she still responsible for him too?

I hope Zied’s sister drags the truth out of her.  She seems sassy.
