I also think [Hannah]’s confused and feels a lot of pressure. She’s only been there days and doesn’t know which guy she wants to pursue something with yet. I don’t think this makes her a player.

I don't think it necessarily makes her a player either.  Although, maybe I missed something (entirely possible, I often multi-task while watching), but I didn't get the impression that she had made it crystal clear to Dylan that she was so confused.  To me, it seemed like she didn't really care about Dylan's feelings when making out on the beach with Blake right in front of him...rubbing it in his face almost.  If I was Dylan, I would gather up my pride and say, "Message received....you're not really interested."  (Same thing holds true for Blake when she's lounging around all day with Dylan hanging all over her.)  Call me old-fashioned (really, I don't mind), but just because you're confused and feeling pressure doesn't mean you can't take steps to actively avoid hurting people who clearly care for you while you figure things out by not making out with multiple people on the same day.  The more catty side of me kind of hopes they both give up on her and pursue other people, leaving her with no one, although I realize that's not going to happen.

Of course the genuine 30-somethings got hosed to keep the obnoxious Millennial Mob.

All 30-somethings are Millennials.

I don't get why Tayshia's so horrible for accepting Blake's rose.  If it's criminal to do that, then half the cast can be locked up.  So she wanted to stick around and see who else would come on the show - so what?  So many of them are doing that and publicly admitting it too.  That's what you're supposed to do on the show.  If she said "No, forget it, I'm leaving" she would be criticized for that too - which I saw happen after somebody did this on Love Island.  Why would she come all the way to BiP only to give up and go home after first round?  That would be so silly to me.

I know the cut-off is nebulous depending on who you ask in sociology, but I believe you're right that the majority of 30s are. Let's see.

Looks like the current definition per Pew Research Center includes birth years 1981 through 1996. So all the way up to 38, Ms Blue Jay, you are almost dead on. I knew it was at least 1983.

I have to question whether any of these players "clearly care for" anyone on this beach except themselves. These men "clearly care for" Hannah? That's why she gets picked first for all the dates? More like, those guys have some fantasy about making it with a chick who looks like a school girl and want to be "her first." /lightning strikes me/

I really think there's also an element on these shows of "I want what everyone else wants." The girl most popular with the guys is the best prize you can win, after all; people like the sense of superiority. There's a reason that people often go for the same one or two even though we all have such different standards of what we find most attractive.

It's like how teenagers always go out with someone else to make the one they really want jealous. If you're in demand, s/he must be missing something, right?

I definitely wondered if she knew Dylan could see them. I couldn’t tell when I watched.

Oh you can call me old fashioned too! I think sleeping with different people, the fantasy suites, all of it is gross imo. I think that’s why Hannah isn’t coming off so terribly to me, the way the people carry on in general isn’t how I live my life. I feel like a grandma watching, but I am a millennial, around the same age as the more seasoned contestants but probably a senior citizen if you’d ask Demi. Anyway, I would never make out with different people in the same day, but this is BIP. I see both sides to it. I can see Hannah wanting to test the waters and find out who she really likes and has chemistry with before deciding to focus on one relationship, but I wouldn’t necessarily behave the way she has been myself.

Blake and Hannah aren’t doing anything the others aren’t doing (they’re actually nicer and more honest than most), but they’ll be vilified no matter what. Unless Hannah marries Dylan, I guess. Which isn’t fair. Dylan is sweet, but he’s also meek, clinger, and creepy. And in retrospect Blake has a point. Hannah is interested in both men, but Dylan won’t let her leave his side for more than five seconds. And he thinks that he “owns” her because he gave her his rose and glommed onto her since the beginning.

I haven't been watching this season but I have seen the Blake saga all over tabloid media and so I did watch a clip of the confrontation with Caelynn and a clip of this moment between him, Hannah and Dylan. And judging from the little I've seen and what I've read, I have to agree with you.

That was one of the cringiest moments I've ever seen between three people. But truthfully I was most embarrassed for Dylan. The fact is the whole premise of BIP is for people to date others and see who they want to be with, if anyone, which is why contestants keep coming in. Dylan tried to play the he wanted to speak to Hannah, to see where they stood. But the fact is he could have waited till she came back to have that conversation with her.

The fact is he went up to her and Blake to "flex his muscle" but the fact is he has none and instead is incredibly passive and so what happened instead was an awkward and embarrassing moment for him, where he just stood there looking kind of dumb. Meanwhile Hannah came off as an incredibly immature mute which we know she's not because she was plenty coherent and direct when confronting Colton at the After The Final Rose.

Which makes me think it's not that she didn't know what to say to Dylan, she just felt uncomfortable to tell him how she truly felt in the moment. Likely because she didn't want to hurt his feelings. And so I guess she figured standing around blankly with the doe eyed expression would just make the whole situation magically go away.

But yeah on Dylan's part, dude should have realized that if she really wanted to, Hannah could have said something to the effect of she'd come to talk to him soon but she had to talk to Blake. Instead she stood there, said nothing and even after he awkwardly slunk away, she went back to spending time with Blake.

She didn't make it clear at all! Dylan and Blake are talking about "give me 5 minutes" and "you had all day" and she just stood there and said nothing. She needs to speak up and tell them what she wants instead of letting them direct her life. She said she waited for Blake to come talk to her all day, but she didn't ever go to talk to him. Most of this problem could be solved if she would tell them what she wants instead of letting it all happen around her, as if she were a prop and not a participant.

I don't think she's horrible for accepting the rose, but I do think she's horrible for accepting the rose and then bitching about the fact that he offered it to her even though he isn't interested in pursuing a relationship.

Also she is definitely horrible for cackling with glee when he got hurt, and being so happy that he was in pain.

The nature of the show is just so weird, your basically in a mad rush to date and hitch your wagon to someone, but are also supposed to be dating around? And people get super attached to each other within, like, one date? Its what makes the Dylan/Hannah/Blake stuff really confusing. I mean, Dylan is clearly the better choice, as he is not only cuter but seemingly less of a fuck boy, but Hannah clearly has new heart eyes for Blake because all the girls do for whatever reason, and Blake is totally into Hannah, so it looks like thats where this is going. Dylan seems like an alright guy, I am sure that plenty of the other girls would love to jump on that. Blake and Hannah making out right in front of Dylan was pretty crappy.

Oh my God, why is everyone on this show so obsessed with getting married right now?! Is it all for the Instagram likes, or are they that caught up in this weird little Bachelor world that they honestly think this is their one chance to fall in love? Just date awhile, you dont HAVE to get married just because this franchise has become obsessed with proposals!

I loved Mike, so I hope he isn't ruined for me here. This franchise can really bring out the attention hog creep in people, and so many people I liked in their season turned out to be total assholes in Paradise, so I hope that Mike stays Mike.

Speaking of blasts from the past, Jordan, the mayor of paradise, has arrived! He really was made for Paradise.

But she did spend more time with him...all day in fact.  Blake said that he left them alone all day before pulling Hannah away.  My point was that while she has told Dylan that she wants to spend time with him and explore their connection, we have NOT seen her say that she only wants to spend time with Dylan and no one else.  If Dylan can't handle that she is not ready to commit, I think that's on him.  It's his choice to wait for her to make up her mind, but he should be prepared that he may not be the one she chooses no matter how much he likes her.

ETA:  I will absolute change my point of view if we ever see that she made promises to Dylan about being exclusive.

It's one thing if they don't necessarily come off Bachelor in Paradise looking any better than they did on the Bachelor/Bachelorette.  But just about every single person is coming off WAY WORSE than originally.  Can anybody think of anybody who has actually improved their image?  I surely can't.  Maybe (maybe) Evan from way back.   But that is it.

I agree with you. Dylan is very possessive and takes Hannah spending time with him to mean they’re in a relationship. That, and everyone else telling him he’s great (because they hate Blake). Blake actually made a good point, that he sat back the whole day watching Dylan make out with Hannah and let them have their time. Then Blake gets five minutes with Hannah and Dylan has to go take Hannah away and “talk”.  Hannah could do a better job expressing her thoughts and feelings, but I’m pretty sure she’s let both guys know that she’s interested in getting to know them both. It’s too bad the girl can’t just play the field because I think both guys are bad choices for the long haul.

Not based on what we've seen. During the "confrontation" on the beach she just stood there and let them argue. She could have shut it down quickly by telling Dylan she'd talk to him later after she had her time with Blake, or telling Blake she was going to chat with Dylan for 5 minutes and would be right back. But she didn't - she stood there and said nothing.

I meant earlier than that scene. One-on-one I thought she told each guy she’s still open, but I could be misremembering that.

She kept it up all night.   It's very odd, and while she's continuously  chuckling over nothing, I'm looking at her face and thinking how it looks like some artist"s caricature of a person with close set eyes and a nose that's trying to  buy a bridge.

I've figured this season out.  It's punishment for anyone who questioned their bachelor/bachelorette choices.  Some of us thought Hannah G or Caelyn would have been a better Bachelorette  than Hannah Brown, and a few people thought that Blake should have been  The Bachelor over Colton.

Okay! We get it!  They're all three inarticulate idiots with middle-school maturity levels.  You can stop now.

honestly, i still remember when ali was bachlorette, and all she did was giggle--qute annoying.

If this was a potential Bachelor audition, Blake blew it by juggling 4 different women. Far too messy.

To your point, the Bachelor actually needs to juggle 4+ women. But he couldn't even manage relationships/friendships with 4 women still liking him off camera. I certainly don't know how he'd handle 30 on camera.

I'm loved the editing where Demi (?) was talking about him and they spliced in dorky images of him dancing.

It's sooo funny to me how this show can either be a redemption (Nick for example, maybe Taylor) or a total train wreck of someone's "character". And you never really know who's going to be the stand out.

Nick Viall single-handedly turned Paradise Redemption into a conceivable arc back in late 2016. It was supposed to be Luke or Chase for Bachelor (Luke was filming promos while production on the beach happened), but wise, snarky old Nick turned the tables on everyone by exposing Josh for the rage-head, pizza-stuffing phony baloney I always knew him to be, giving Ashley I. decent advice, and acting as an uncle figure to the twins.

He is thus far, IMO, the only case of successful image rehab on Paradise, but it got him the Bachelor gig, and since then every douche who's ever gotten a poor edit has arrived in Mexico brimming with confidence that he, too, will be the next Nick Viall. No such luck.

Jordan is a close second, but he was painted as a tool last year even while he dated Jenna, and they're showing him to be an ass again this year. I don't see as sympathetic an edit as I had expected, given how badly Jenna deceived him.

The women are coming off worse than ever. Taysia and Hannah G. were just boring to me, and now I find them offensive and rude. Caelynn was always annoying and this season thus far only intensifies my total dislike of her. Katie seemed normal and now looks like she needs a mood stabilizer. It must be the humidity and heat - just not suitable for keeping a cool head.

I personally disagree.  Annaliese is 34 and is a Millennial.  Bibi is 31.  Bibi isn't even an old Millennial.  When the oldest Millennials are 38-39 (Wikipedia), 31 is a far cry.  Everyone on BIP is a Millennial, except for Chris Harrison.

I know that some people hate the stigma associated with being a Millennial, but that stigma follows around every single generation when they're "young".

I looked up some other ages:

Demi - 24
Tayshia - 29
Caelynn - 24
Katie - 26
Kristina - 26
Nicole - 26
Sidney - 27

Bibi and Tayshia are really close in age, so I don't think these cliques are based off age, and they're definitely not generational as the cast shares 1 generation.  If anything, I think it makes sense that the women from Colton's season would all gravitate towards each other.  Of course they're not going to know Bibiana or Annaliese.

And you don’t tell that person “ i turned down Jordan’s date to spend time with you “. I’m beginning to think she and Blake deserve each other . The “ who me?” Act is getting old. Dylan, man up and tell her you get the message!!

I meant earlier than that scene. One-on-one I thought she told each guy she’s still open, but I could be misremembering that.

That's what it seemed like to me.  I think that Hannah was ready to go all-in on Blake until he asked Tayshia for that first date.  That seemed to throw her and changed her mind set to being more open because that was the tone he set.  I do believe she wanted to see how things went with Dylan/others, but its hard for her to give up on her initial idea of what would happen in paradise.  I don't see shadiness or malice, just someone who's a people pleaser trying to do the right thing without actually knowing what it is.

It seems like everyone is upset that Hannah isn't all in on Dylan because he likes her so much and they just want to stick it to Blake.

That's how it goes in Paradise. Once you call "dibs" on someone, they're yours, regardless of how they might actually feel about it.

Remember last season, when Tia glommed onto Colton like some kind of succubus and all the other beachgoers decided they were together, Colton's own feelings be damned?

Omg, now I do.  I had forgotten!  But yes!

Dylan is adorable; glad he went down and attempted to interrupt Blake and Hannah, that's a better look than just moping and doing nothing.

Gotta disagree...I think that Blake made Dylan his bitch, and watching Dylan walk to the beach was like watching an impending car wreck with no way to stop it!

Mike is saying all the right things.... that sound like he is auditioning to be the bachelor.

He did say one thing 'wrong'...he messed up his "cheers".  He said "Cheers to what could be our first last date."  He then corrected it in the voiceover or whatever, a few minutes later when he said "our last first date".  [His "ad-libbed lines were well-rehearsed" for you Rod Stewart fans...]

Blake had six toes. Then he knocked one off his foot crashing into a rock while trying to catch that football.

I really didn't understand Demi's whole hunt.  So let's say there really is a BIPer with 6 toes...what is she going to do then?  Make fun of them to their face in front of everyone about something that they are undoubtedly really self-conscious about already?

He looked almost unrecognizable really. I guess he's gotta a little older, a little wiser and a little mustache...

Her nervous giggling and body language when Mike asked her out made me think she was totally not interested in him, but how do you gracefully decline a date? And she continued saying all the right things to him, because, again, people pleaser. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

We already saw what not interested looks like on Caelynn, 'cause that's how she was looking when Cam was reading her his 'manifesto'.  Sure looked like girlfriend was totes into Mike, and when he asked her out, she reacted like the emotions-of-a-teenager that she is (sorry to be so insulting to teenagers!).

Those two grate my last nerve. They are clearly used to being the center of attention and most beautiful creature in the room. Obviously they have no clue how to handle vying for a man's attention.

If Taysia had any self-respect, she'd have turned down the rose. She didn't so now she's just a hypocrite to me. And a Mean Girl.

I mean, I think Hannah G. is pretty, but I do not see the goddess everyone else is seeing. Maybe it's the long blonde hair and her being so darn thin. She looks a bit like Elsa sprung to life.

Also, unpopular opinion, I don't even think Blake is all that bad a guy. He was single and he hooked up with two women back to back. Gross? Sure. Stupid? 100%. But they're acting like he ate a puppy. He was never committed to any of them and it sounds like he put his player tendencies right out there. If you don't like the way you were treated, the best thing to do is just walk away and move on. Caelynn's tears, Kristina's revenge, and Taysia's faux-rage are all for camera time and trying to garner sympathy from Bachelor Nation.

I secretly think Hannah is a calculating mean girl.  I have yet to watch the full episode, but she made sure to publicly accept Jordans date invitation, there letting it be known in a public way that any other girl is going to get basically getting her sloppy seconds.  Dominance established.

She also rejected Jordans date offer after publicly accepting which kinda also looks like a power play.  But then again I don't buy all the cutesiness and suspect she is a serial killer.

I find Blake fantastically physically unattractive.  I don't understand his neck, or his face, but I really don't understand his neck.  Anyways, I don't watch regular bachelor so maybe he sucks.  But as an outsider looking in, I don't think he did anything particularly unconscionable.  He wouldn't be my choice,.but I don't know the confusing neck would probably also be a factor for me.

If you're a powerful woman you should feel the freedom to say what you want or ask questions you want the answer to.  If you want a relationship, it's okay to let that be known.  It's not okay that women are made to feel like being powerful means not feeling what you feel.

Colton was on BIP?   I have no memory of that. 😜

Did she say yes to talking to him or to a date? I could be remembering wrong, but I thought he approached her in front of everyone and asked if he could talk to her. So if she was the one approached in front of a bunch of people, simply asked to chat, and said yes, I don't see the big deal. If I'm remembering it all wrong, my apologies. A lot of the date initiations are kind of similar so I may get them confused.

I see a bit of myself in Hannah in that I don't like to hurt people's feelings and am not very quick on my feet when I'm caught off guard.

Hannah is quite pretty and I'm sure she gets a lot of attention from guys, but these incredibly bizarre dating circumstances are probably still tricky to navigate.

LOL @ serial killer!

I think she said yes to the date.  Or rather "let's go!"

I agree, had she just agreed to a  "let's talk" that's nothing.  But I think she agreed to the date.

He talked to Hannah first and then Nicole and maybe Kristina (?) So Hannah had some time between the first chat to prepare herself for the second conversation since she knew she was on Jordans radar.

Blake! Why are you such a dick? First, you dare to have sex with the cool girls as a single man. But then, what’s with Will’s blond tips?? I freaking know you were in on that! And those eyebrows on the spicy taco girl?  That has Blake written all over it. And furthermore, Cam is having enough trouble finding love, without Blake making the waves crash up between his legs to make him look like he pissed himself. How dare you, sir!! By the way, Blake, if you don’t want to hurt your toe, maybe you should think about not placing giant rocks on a beach? Just a thought, BLAKE! And that mustache on Dean should never have been grown by Blake. Not a good look, BLAKE!! Last thing I need to say SO FAR, if anyone has 6 toes on one foot, it’s very obvious that Blake produced that being.

What was Cam talking about...a disability?  I didn't watch him on the Bachelorette, and wasn't really paying attention because I find him boring, so I have no idea what his little 'pity party' was all about.

His main disability is in that he must Always Be Cam... but in all seriousness he has some rare ailment that I can't remember the details of.

Thanks, Wandering Snark. Maybe someone else can fill us in on his rare ailment...although ABC sounds irritating enough 😄

So much ridiculous tonight!

I didn't care for Nicole on her Bachelor season, or last year on BIP, but I was happy that she had found someone in Clay.  Then tonight, she goes on a date with Jordan and I'm back to disliking her.  (Where is Annaliese when we need her?).  She seemed pretty into Clay so it's either she has Westonitis (LI contestant) wherein a previous unrecognized person gets play from multiple people and it goes to their head or else she's really just in it for the tv time and couldn't pass up a date with Jordan because she knows he gets camera time.  Too bad for her, but hopefully Clay finds someone worth his time.

Demi and Jordan should totally get together since they both seem to think they're the center of the universe.  Of course, I doubt they could fit in a room with their egos taking up all that space.  Demi at least can be amusing when she's not being a busybody (the toe search was hilarious) but Jordan works my last nerve every time.  Go away, you're not as hot, funny or cute as you think you are.

Am I crazy or from what we've been shown, hasn't Hannah been pretty honest all along that she isn't sure what she wants?  It's not her fault that Dylan has taken her attempts to nicely tell him that she wants to explore a connection with him but isn't ready to commit to mean that she wants exclusivity.  Blake has made some bad choices but I thought he handled the interruption by Dylan on the beach very well.  It seems like everyone is upset that Hannah isn't all in on Dylan because he likes her so much and they just want to stick it to Blake.  Shouldn't Hannah have the right to make the choice for herself?  Even if Blake is the bad/wrong choice it doesn't mean that Dylan is the right one.

I forgot to mention that Cam is like the Chris from last BIP.  So over-reaching and desperately creepy.  It worked out for Chris, maybe Cam will find his Crystal.

Didn't Nicole and Onyeka have a pretty contentious relationship on their season? Surprised there was no footage of them reacting to each other being on the beach.

I thought for sure that Nicole's attempt at making Clay jealous was going to blow up in her face, but I guess he doesn't want to take a chance on not getting a rose since the women have the upper hand.

I agree that Hannah has been about as straightforward as is possible for her (since she clearly isn't that skilled at making declarative sentences). If nothing else, her actions should be speaking volumes to Dylan. I get that he's hung up on ONLY her, but she's clearly not as decided and it doesn't exactly set a good precedent that she wanders off to make out with other guys and he just keeps accepting it. Serious imbalance of power in that relationship.

Blake is just beyond help at this point. I don't think this appearance is going to do him any favors in real life.

The Wills and Katie moment is just about one of the most cringeworthy moments I've ever seen on this franchise. I'm not 100% sure he was that sincere about his interest, it may have been a rose-seeking moment, but it was still embarrassing to watch Katie lose her mind and reject him in the most rambling, yet brutal, way.
