Yes, every group, every show has its own terms and abbreviations.  On those forums, LP means something that people not familiar with that show have no clue about.   I think the point being made is that when you're speaking to people outside of a group that uses an abbreviation or  an acronym, it helps to spell it out.  I read very fast, and when there is something my brain doesn't recognize, I get stuck on figuring it out, or I get annoyed and skip the whole post.

Sorry, its my pet peeve.

I just thought that was the term...all over. I have heard it aside from on the shows. And a quick deduction can lead one to what I meant. Anyway, was wondering if it was known he is a LP. Guess not.

And we had JC last season and much talk about it when Bailey used the derogatory M word. And she didn't get it. I think he even said "we go by LP (or little people)". Guess it's a tough topic for folks to deduce. I don't find it so hard.

Anyway, back to the lame season of BB. Not much really to discuss. 6Shitheads will Pagong (meaning take out one by one like the Pagong tribe on Borneo season of Survivor) the rest. That is all.

And I'll still go with the fact that LP means Long Playing and has since maybe the 1950's whereas a trashy reality show trying to steal the abbreviation away doesn't count.  Because some of us just don't jump on the latest fad abbreviations trying to steal away an established abbreviation.  And because vinyl is awesome and sounds a hundred times better than mp3's, heh.

It’s not the product of a reality show; it’s a product of Little People culture. The show reflects their world, and the world of little people has used LP for years to describe themselves. That’s why the show was called “Little People.”

On the other hand, I agree that it’s best to spell acronyms out the first time you use them in a post. On my third hand, Google is your friend. So I did a Google search and an entire page came up about Laura Pergolizzi, a singer-songwriter of whom I’ve never heard. She performs as LP, and has written songs for Christina Aguilera.* Next most popular was Louisiana-Pacific, which makes siding.

*I almost wrote XTina, but decided not to. 🤓

Sure, that all seems silly now, but when it comes up in your next bar trivia game you’ll thank me.

LP would make a good Jeopardy category.

Bella owes Nicole much more than that "i'm sorry". After all, what was Nicole's "crime?"   she said that the others were targeting Bella and Nick.   she was then called all sorts of names for LYING, when, as it became obvious later, she had been telling the truth.  And, Bella pretended to be part of the  women's alliance, but ratted them out to her other alliance.   Bella screwed herself over.  if she had not behaved so outrageously to Nicole, and to the black widows,  she may have had more support, and Jack could be gone instead of her.

That’s an excellent point. There’s no way I would have trusted her, and the Six knew better than to trust her.

I wish they would have shown how Bella figured out that Holly (or was it Sis?) had lied to her. It may have been that the little Nicole was allowed to say in her own defense finally sunk in after several days of reflection.

I do agree with those of you who said that the general atmosphere in the house influences behavior, and can exacerbate paranoia in people who naturally lean that way. Get enough bullies, and a tipping point is reached in the group.

I don't watch Little People or any show about them, but I automatically knew what you meant by LP. I've never heard that term, just used context clues. I didn't respond because I didn't know the answer, although I was pretty sure the answer was 'no.' Also, I know it can be a sensitive topic and didn't want to get involved. However, seeing the comments on here, I think you might need a little support. I don't think you meant any harm. 🤗

Who said what (and cursed) during the competition that made Julie chastise them for cursing on live TV? I watched the episode and didn't hear it. Was someone else talking over them?

Thanks But then they shouldn't have said LP and called him a vinyl record instead.  Because that is what an LP is and nothing else.  A Long Playing 331/3 vinyl record.  it has no other meaning.  Just sayin'.

^  All of the above as well as "little people" are abbreviations not commonly used except by people in some small group of people or in the UK regards the Labor Party.  Whereas LP is an abbreviation used MORE than the full term of "Long Playing" for a 331/3.

That was my whole point.  I've heard of "little people" used commonly but not of "LP" being used for them.  Conversely I've heard of LP but not "long playing" used commonly for them.

Last OT on this for me.

Nice list, Rough Draft, but realistically, there's only one that could possibly pertain to the question asked about Tommy. And it's not Long Playing record.

Of course @Lamima meant no harm.  This has gone beyond satire at this point.  LP has been in common usage for at least two decades.  No one would ask if a human being was a piece of vinyl.  It's silly.

And here I thought LP meant the poster was asking if Tommy was a robot because I watch Agents of Shield and they had robots they called LP's but then I googled it and realized they were called LMD's not LP's!!! 😂😂😂

I’ve read elsewhere that it was Nicole, who was the last person I would have guessed. I haven’t seen any guesses at what she said.

When Julie asked the HGs how they were doing, Nicole’s response was something along the lines of “shitty”. 😄

So Julie said that America would decide which three HGs would go on a “field trip.” Is it possible it’s a “field trip” to...Love Island? Could it be CBS’ way of desperately trying to make Love Island happen? The Love Islanders will not have watched BB at all this season, right?

I think flights to Fiji would be too long.  I can see them setting up a Love Island viewing in the BY (with a woodsy motif, of course).  I'm most interested in learning how this field trip could hurt someone's game!

Now that you mention it I can very easily see this as one of those in the house watch parties that only several people can attend with popcorn and snacks like when they are hyping a new movie...

I understand your point.   I just wish you wouldn't have gone there with the labeling of people due to their physical appearance.

I think the tone of my post was misinterpreted there and I certainly apologize for that. I was mimicking what is going on in Jack’s mind, because that’s how I’m sure he labels them, not me.

I don't think the poster was personally using that word for Jessica. She was channeling how Jack would view her. Sadly, that's probably exactly how he does view her, when he isn't hugging her and telling her she's awesome.

Just my take, obviously.

Yes, that was exactly my intention.

Sincere apologies to you, Rachel RSL, for assuming the term "fatttie" was your own opinion.  I absolutely misinterpreted your post and in hindsight, totally understand that you were voicing something Jack would say.  Thanks for setting the record straight.

p.s.  I can't stand Jack and Jackson.  Worst season ever.  I don't want anybody to win.  But as we all know, we don't always get what we want.

So they’re not showing last season’s episodes during comps, right? Because Jack and Christie were telling the others about it like it was some great thing which would further elevate them to the pantheon of BB luminaries.

They don't watch anything once they are in the house.  But even the non-fan recruits -- who are usually the majority of the cast -- could easily binge any number of seasons before entering the sequester hotel.  (All the past seasons are right there online on CBS to watch).

And during the days in that pre-House sequester hotel along with going over all the rules and learning how to use the mics etc etc they are also given several full BB seasons to watch in their hotel rooms as well.

Sorry, no, what I meant was they don’t show the previous seasons on the feeds anymore while the HGs are doing comps.
