Well . . . not too exciting. I'm sorry Kemi was evicted. So Jackson was the only vote for Jessica! I wonder if there will be repercussions for that vote.

I wonder who Nick will nominate. Probably Jessica and Cliff. Or Cliff and Nicole. I am cheering for Nicole now.

This is kind of a dismal season, isn't it? Season 19 was more entertaining even though it was ruined by Paul.

"The attic of outcasts is problematic."

Exactly. This is going to be like an entire herd of elephants stomping around the rooms of the BB house, while everyone pretends nothing is wrong. Groan.

I have watched every season until the end.  The good, the bad and he ugly and have never been this close to checking out.

All these people are either pathetic, obnoxious or just stupid.

My guess is Jessica goes next to fill the CC ghetto with minorities.

Just no.

I don't understand what was so earth-shattering about what Chrissy heard from Cliff.

But she heard it through a door so that makes it super scandalous! Must. Tell. Everyone!!! *eye roll*

Has Bella ever met an alliance she won't out to anyone who happens to be, well, there? Number one on the list of people I'd never tell a secret to!

At least Jack screwed up by mistake, he wasn't meaning to tell Sam the alliance he's not in's name. Though it was a classic. "Us nine players" sounds so much less cool since it's not got an official name.

I knew Julie was going to rush Jessica when her speech/plea began to meander. Which turned out ironic because it was evident at the end of the show they had extra time left as she desperately was trolling Kemi trying to get a reaction out of her. When that failed she went to questions for Tommy and Cliff who few if any really care about.

I've seen happier people sitting in the Electric Chair than Jess looked like sitting in the eviction chair before the vote. Her long face had me convinced she was going home.

Anyway the real loser tonight is Grodner and CBS who have egg on their face. Months ago production was probably pumped up at how cool the Camp Comeback would be, little dreaming thanks to Jack and his posse,  their stranglehold on the house and their dubious agenda have turned the CC room into a defacto "ghetto." How embarrassing for everyone involved. Now they just need to add Jessica (briefly) next week for it to be complete.

Nick and Bella's excitement for the HOH win likely boils down to one thing...the lock on the door to the HOH room. Can't blame the dude though...she is stunning.

Kat..once, a significant player, is reduced to cameo appearances and Holly is literally a "fill in the blank" character as Jackson's squeeze.

Don't know why they made a big deal about Cliff being overheard...he has no power whatsoever and can do little damage. He's likely to be the "easy" boot right before the eight dullards must turn on themselves and begin the cannibalization.

No idea what Julie was talking about saying Nick is playing both sides of the house when he's clearly with H8ters.

So awkward when Sam enters the voting booth...makes funny and then has to go all solemn when Julie passes along her condolences.

So much this. It's clearly the slums of Camp BB, the place anyone with a darker skin tone gets banished to. I think that is exactly what Kemi meant by her going to the Slums/Ghetto not being surprising. Soon we won't have to deal with these racial outliers and all the pretty white children can come out and see spiders.

I don't understand what was so earth-shattering about what Chrissy heard from Cliff. Ooh, a guy who barely has an alliance has teamed up with two people outside your alliance (including one who isn't even back in the game yet) and has successfully deduced that several people that appear to be sleeping together are couples?! She might as well have awakened everyone by screaming, "water is wet, you guys! Water is wet!"

It moved his eviction up a number of weeks, so it was earth-shattering for HIS game, at least.

Besides humping Jack, Nick running around gesturing like he just came off the block and needed to win HOH to ensure his safety was weird.

What was all the posturing and grunting for?

I believe it was due to his knowing Kemi was watching up in the Ghet and he was feeling all (to paraphrase Paul) "You tried to blow up my game but look at your boy now!" *chest thump* etc.

I doubt it will happen this week, but I really wish Nick and Bella will turn against the H8fuls. I am glad that if someone from that group had to win, it was Nick.   I kind of wanted Kemi to stay, but her speech just frustrated me.  Every year it's the same thing, somebody feels personally attacked and turns the target on people who are not the real problem.  Look at the Big Picture people! Someone needs to take Jack/Jackson down a few pegs!

I didn't like Nick stealing a play from Sam's playbook by making a little Julie Chen rhyme before he voted.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but I kinda like Nick and Bella's showmance. I think they might really like each other. Yeah, yeah, I know about the Analyse attraction.....but....🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't like showmance's very much, these happened very fast, it doesn't score any points with this BB watcher.aà. Christie reminds me of Christmas, who I couldn't stand. Jack@ss one and two, need to be on the block, and do some grovelling.

What throws me off is she uses all of the nicknames but then refers to Kat as Katherine.

Why?

That messes with me every time.🤨

Also, did Bella just say that Nick has been voting with her alliance on every vote?

What the fuck?  There has only been one damn vote (at the time the comment was shown) thus far and everyone voted the same.

I don't understand why they have to WHISPER all the time.  whatever is said, ends up getting repeated to someone else like it's a big revelation, and then it's passed on, all in whispers like it's a giant secret, but it's not a secret if you tell seven other people!   none of them can keep ONE thing to themselves.

I still think they need to rebuild the way to and from voting so you don't see each other.

Perhaps it is time for Grodner et alia to up the number of minority players. Like, have 8 or 9 of them. Just a thought, Ms Whitey McWhiterson.

These people are so ponderous. And pretentious. And ponderous.

I hate the silly shout outs in the DR.

This crew is already mostly awful, but the fact that they each get to spend even 10 extra seconds shouting out their family, friends, cats, dogs, and random other nonsensical crap is extra annoying.  I want Julie Chen Moonves to be like, "Move along!  This is a LIVE SHOW!"  I don't like them enough to find their hallway shenanigans and cutesy voting banter enjoyable.

I don't know enough about Grodner and the possible stranglehold she has on this show, but could this season be the end of her and her crew?  Between Camp Awful, the elephants in every room, and the constant hooking up, it's been a disaster.  I kind of hate myself for watching, but I'm hopeful to see a takedown of the JackAss bros and their various groupies before I bow out.  Is it possible that this very bad season signals the end of Grodner or Big Brother?

BB gets the same basic ratings it does every year (it goes down every year, but every show goes down every year - it doesn't go down at a higher rate than every other show), it fills up three hours a week cheaply and typically wins its night (or comes close to America's Got Talent).

It's not going anywhere.

Thanks, Julie!  I'll bet you're loads of fun at parties.
Her condolences during the vote were cringe-worthy.

As far as the DR shout outs, hallway dancing, overacting and exaggerated facial expressions during the live show ... this tomfuckery has kept increasing over the last several seasons.  IMO the hamsters see BB as a springboard to a lucrative career in "show biz".  Look at the last 10 years of BB... CBS recycles hamsters and refits them onto Amazing Race, Survivor, afternoon soap operas, summer replacement Ninja Warrior shows, etc.  Don't forget for the famewhoriest there also money making opportunities for meet & greets with the "fans" at BB events, plus the possible perk of getting to come back on future seasons of BB and host crappy Veto comps!  Some past guests used the exposure to start side businesses, open nightclubs, become more famous plastic surgeons and parlay their star power into the realm of gay porn.  The celeb possibilities are endless!  Keep on hamming it up, hamsters!

Sorry, it's an obscure Ani DiFranco reference (partially misheard by me now that I looked it up) from her song 'tis of thee':

Quote

they caught the last poor man
on a poor man's vacation
they cuffed him and confiscated his stuff

all your pretty white children can come out and see spot run

I really like Sam. I know he's awfully yelly in the DR but there's one every year. At least he has not referred to himself as "your boy."

Other than that, there's not much to root for. They really need to reign in the pre-eviction speeches. This isn't the time to thank God and CBS and 20 extended family members and pets at home. They should be allotted exactly 60 seconds and restrict their speech to why they should be voted for, period. Then a buzzer should sound and cut off their mic.

Also, trying to blow up someone's game in your final speech never works. Especially when you just end up babbling incoherently. I'm sure Kemi thought she was being fierce but she just kind of rambled and didn't really make much sense. Given the fact that she has to stick around anyway it wouldn't have even  been strategic had she been more clear on what the hell she meant.

The show obviously encourages the hallway shenanigans during voting, because they could easily stop it simply by not telling the HGs the order they'll be going into the DR. Then they wouldn't be able to plan this shit beforehand.

Other than making herself important, it wasn't a huge deal.  But, the fact Cliff had figured out a few alliances she/they did not believe he would definitely made him a bigger target and not just a handy pawn.  And....they liiiiive for justifications to oust apostates (non-alliance members).

Also, it would be the easiest thing in the world for the Audio Director to clip the mics as soon as the vote is cast and for the Director to go to a shot of anything else than the voter.  Methinks Grodner recognizes how unlikeable and even "inhuman" this cast is.  Anything that shows them being nice and recognizing something other than themselves works to massage the hamsters' lousy, well-earned, images.

Au contraire....  I think the constant hooking up is exactly what the producers were hoping to get by concentrating the casting on mactor types.  They hit the jackpot with Jack and Son.  Nick is just a bonus...  From the very beginning of this show, there were titillating whispers over whether or not the hamsters would "get it on" in the house.  It is the producers fondest dream...they think it increases ratings, though they usually don't ever dare show anything other than some kissing and snuggling on the broadcast show.  But they depend on the whisper campaign--of which we are complicit, of course, by posting in forums like this--to get viewers to tune in, hoping to catch a thrilling voyeuristic glimpse of moral turpitude.

Nowadays though, it isn't that anticipatory "will they?  won't they?" question, it is more a question of when and how and where and how rude about it to the other hamsters will they be.  That's the part that's grown tiresome now.  The nasty details like jizz towels and drawers full of used condoms that the feedsters expose will never make the broadcast show, but folks hear about them and tune in to wonder "Is that the towel?  Is that the drawer?"  Humans are weird.

Does anyone remember the first BB hook up?  I'm not talking showmance, I"m talking the first "brown chicken, brown cow" moment...  It was so long ago that I can no longer remember who and what season it was, but I do remember the "OOOooooOOOOooooOOOhhhh!" online reaction to it.  Once the producers got a taste of that, it was all over, they were going to cast to try and facilitate hookups like that in the future.

And I write all that in full self awareness that I am voyeuristically participating in this cycle myself!

David and Amanda back in Season 4 and I remember it being a lot grosser than the ones nowadays, because back then they definitely knew that they were going to be the first, so that was part of the appeal and it was super skeevy. Nowadays, these people are fucking because they want to fuck. Then it was, "We'd be the first ones to fuck, wouldn't that be cool?" and that's so...extra.

Not to be annoyingly mathy [she says, as she's about to be annoyingly mathy...] but it would be weirder if they didn't. 52 weeks / 16 hamsters = 3 and change weeks each. Mom + Dad + one sibling or grandparent, and we're almost the entire way there.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why TPTB thought Camp NotWhite was a good idea.  They are commended for doing better than in most seasons in recruiting minorities for the show, but as long as you have a plurality of brainless Pretty White People they are going to go fairly quickly.  That plurality will claim to the death that they aren't racist, but the fact is that every year the PWP vote off the "others" before turning on each other.   Why didn't anyone in production bring that up?

Last year was something of an anomaly in that the group in power seemed nicer.  That I remember. I mostly remember not hating anyone with my prior intensity.

Maybe because of that, I am beside myself with loathing this year.  And because I am a former teacher of US History, I can't help but remember the days when minorities had to sit in the peanut gallery up in the movie theater balcony whenever I think of Camp NotWhite.

No, Sam, you are totally an important of the Gr8ful Gr9ful alliance.

Seeing Jack make a blatant slip of the tongue like that was encouraging and made me happy. I loathe Jack and Jackson, but they are managing their alliance quite well. Jackson is especially good at appearing that he is agreeing with someone’s position without actually committing to anything. His conversation with Jessica, which led her to pick him for the Veto comp, and his conversation with Kemi before the vote were very well done.

The fuss houseguests can make over a stray vote is sometimes entertaining and sometimes irritating beyond belief. Maybe because it reminds me of Vanessa. I respect her gameplay but found her tiresome to watch. It will be interesting to see how Jack takes it.

Nicole continues to get more interesting to me. I really liked their alliance name (The Power of Zing!?”) so of course it was blown up by Cliff. Even though Christy overhearing his conversation was hilarious, it helped the side of the house I don’t like. Other people have given regular monologues to the camera, but they whispered, Cliff!

Purely my recollection (which has all the integrity of Swiss cheese), but the first few HGs who did “chats with the feedsters” did so (a) over their first cup or two of coffee in the morning - before anybody else was awake - and (b) they did so from the back half of the BY, where they could see any potential eavesdroppers approaching before they posed a threat.

From that the “tradition” of the feedster chat was born and has continued; with recent seasons, however, Production’s growing insistence on shutting down the BY for longer and longer periods of time (usually to construct ever-more-elaborate comp sets) has resulted in giving any feedchat-inclined HGs little option except to take their conversations indoors - and accept the attendant risks.

I was also thinking of the Canadian version where there have been plenty of monologues across various parts of the house.

All caught up and only a day behind;  for me, that actually qualifies as good news.  So I'll do one of my "notes on a scorecard" (review-as-I-go) posts, for the first time this year.  Exciting, no? (No? Darn.)

•  Julie's best outfit of the year, so far.  Although a burlap sack might qualify on that front.

•  Not thrilled that they had Clayton (Announcer Guy) make it sound as though Jack only nominated Kemi/Jessi because Ratabella "spilled the beans" about Black Widows.  Instead of, you know, raci…Reasons.

•  Dear caption writers:  "outed" only has one "t" in it.  I know you miss "FOUTTÉ" (who doesn't?), but that was last season.  Writing "outted" won't bring Kaitlyn back.  (Sadly.) Love, HH.

• How "nice" of the editors to use that clip of Kemi monologuing "be scared" at the camera, so that we think of her as a Scary Black Woman, and don't get upset at her upcoming segregation into Camp Monkeybars.  What, you couldn't find a shot of her eating a banana?

• We see the nominees seated, awaiting their fates. Jessica is wearing jeans, where Kemi has a lovely pink dress.  Gee, I wonder which one knows she's playing in the HoH and which one knows she's about to meet Julie.  Quite a stumper!

•  Jack DR:  "Kemi has been my target for quite some time now."  Well, it's Day 20, so "quite some time" would be about…20 days, right?  If I knew exactly when Jack first laid eyes on Kemi, I could give you the hours and minutes, as well.

•  I like Analyse, even if she's young and easily swayed by Jack and his cronies.  I'm just disappointed she let Nick get into her pants so easily.

No, I mean Nick, and I mean that literally.  There's a picture in one of the threads of Nick in the HoH room wearing those "snakeskin" bike shorts and a sports bra.  Never forget, these people get very bored in there.

• You know, it was Kemi's birthday on July 7th, too, just like Jack's.  If you don't bring enough presents for everybody, AnalySis, you shouldn't do "favors" for anyone.  Learn some etiquette, sweetie.

• Cliff shoots The Fellowship of the Zing! in the foot.  At least he didn't trip and impale himself on his pointed-toed shoes, but—

(Oh, wait, that wasn't The Lord of the Rings, that was the Harvard Lampoon parody, Bored of the Rings.  What can I say?  It's a quicker read, so I read it more often.  And besides, Legolas doesn't hit on Aragorn in the Tolkien original.  [At least, I don't think so…])

• God, just seeing the ads for Yesterday makes me want to hurl.  Can't this just crash and burn, already?

• Nicole really hates Ratabella, doesn't she?  Good for her.

• Kemi was "about to cry"?  Really, Jackson?  Nice that he can only take a woman seriously if he can diminish her emotionally.

(To be fair, Son of Jack may be thinking that Jackhole will only listen to anything the Scary Black Woman says if Jackson first convinces him that Kemi no longer poses a "threat".  But I think it's more Michie-sogyny than pandering to Jack's racism here.  I'm just guessing, though.)

• Dear Ratabella:  spilling secrets to other players does not make them "more loyal" and make them think "they can trust [you]".  Being a rat makes them think…you're a rat.  It's really not that hard.

•  I guess Sam now knows why Christie keeps saying "grateful" every five seconds, huh?  Wonder if he's done a count of how often she's rubbed his face in her alliance without his knowing it, by now?  "Good one, Jack", indeed.

• Oops!  Jessica wasn't wearing jeans, after all.  That blue stuff I thought was on her legs is actually the plant she's seated behind.  My bad.   (So if they're both dressed nicely, there goes the "eviction outfit" clue.  Huh.)

•  Wow, Jessica can't even do her "final plea" speech well.  She messes up the "emotional person, but not an emotional player" part, she runs out of time, and she promises to be loyal to "each and every one of you"…which kind of ruins the point of being loyal to anyone in particular, no?

• Kemi gives away that she's getting evicted with "I'll see you both in Camp Comeback", which is not only stupid (if you're going to call Ratabella/Nick out, tell the HGs you'll put them up, but Jessica won't nominate women!  Fight!)  but factually incorrect.  Kemi won't see either half of "Rick" in Camp Melanin, even if they're evicted in the next two weeks.  After the next eviction comes the Battleback, where one of Comeback Campers will re-enter and the others will presumably be gone for good.   And then Evictee #5 will have the "Campground" all to themselves, while Kemi is either back in the game or back at home.  Get your (presumed) facts straight, girl!

• I swear, if anyone tried to pas-de-deux me in the hall, I would kick them in the nuts.  Even if they were female and didn't have any.

• Does nobody have the brains to try a hinky vote?  Set the witches a-hunting, folks.

OH WAIT!!!  Okay, I don't care (as much) that you're [far too many things to cite here], Jackson!  Let's kickstart the horse indeed!  Well done, 'son!  Thank you.

• "I need everyone who's competing tonight to head outside, right now."  No, Julie, you need the competitors and outgoing HoH Jack outside, as well.

I mean, I'm sure Jack would much rather be in a small room with three non-white Internees, but he'll just have to stay a part of Caucasian Nation a little while longer…poor dear.

• Okay, how many smug greedheads do we have here?  Let's see who aims for the $5000.  Or the "Mike Boogie" target, as it's colloquially known.

• Once again, a "random draw" lands Analyse in the first position.  (She also was first when they chose Whacktivity comps.)  Sounds like that "random" method called "the alphabet", lol.

• Can't tell if Jessica wanted the $5K or if she just sucked.

• Bye, Jackson!  (Well, Nick has to nominate the Jacks and Jack has to win Veto and the House has to stay loyal and protect the backdoor pawn, but I'd be worried if I were he.)

• Bella really should have gone for the money.  Nobody would be shocked that she feels safe with Nick as HoH.

•  I see Kat's been sniffing the Bobcat pee again, huh?

•  Holly actually wanted to win, I think.  Which makes her effort just sad.

• Time to see if Mr. Maccarone has the stones, I guess.  (And if his name is actually pronounced "Macaroni", then my pun game just went down the drain.  Oh, well.)

• Return of Cootie Taw on Sunday?  We shall see, we shall see.

You know, it actually makes sense that the Camp Comeback campers have to wear a special uniform.   How else could we tell David/Ovi/Kemi apart from the rest of the…oh, wait.

Never mind.  (And, sigh.)

I’ve mentioned before that I started this show with episode 1 and have not missed an episode. (Only the episodes, I’m not a feed watcher, 3x/week is more than enough for me lol). But I never miss an episode, although I do record and time shift.  And I sometimes read the live feed discussion when I am impatient to see won a comp.

So years ago I was in ocean city MD on vacation, and we had a 3 year old, so at night we of course stayed in the room.  Just by chance caught that first episode, then the 2nd....and here we are.

Last night there was a huge storm here in jersey and we lost power. When it came back I checked but the episode never recorded.  The live episode!  The biggie!  And you know what, I didn’t even really care.  I shocked myself. I always love that episode...the eviction, the ousted interview with Julie, the new HOH comp....and yet I just didn’t care.  That is how bored, annoyed, and turned off I am this season.  By the twist, by the contestants, by the racism...the whole package is actually feeling repulsive.

My baby was 3 that first episode.  She is now 23.  Time is passing and I realize that I just may have finally outgrown this mess of a show.  I might even miss more episodes.  I might miss them all!  Thanks to detailed comments like those by @Halting Hex I can come here and satisfy my curiosity, if I still have any
