Why is three year old Drusilla drinking from a bottle with a nipple?  Shouldn’t she be using a sippy cup? She’s a preschooler at three years old. Preschoolers don’t use bottles, IME.

I find it personally offensive that said 3 year old also jumps on counters while wearing a so-wet-it's-sagging diaper.

That screaming is the outbursts of a child who hasn't been taught any self-calming behaviors.

Jihoons only experience with kids in America is from the movies? How are kids raised in Korea, where do they sleep? He needs to tell Deavan that Drascilla and the new kid can sleep together but not in bed with him and Deavan.

“She has manners, she says Please and Thank You! “  Now that’s a low bar.

Eating the eggs out of the serving bowl ? You know she hasn’t washed her hands since she went to bed the night before AND little kids always put their hands inside their pissy diapers. Toddler hands always smell pissy and look dirty. That is why you follow them around with wash cloths and/or drag them to the sink to lather up. And you keep their nails clipped short by cutting them while they sleep! Toenails too!!  Hair needs to be brushed or combed and pulled away from the face when eating. Can’t stand sticky jelly syrup fingers and hair.

Was it revealed the secret Sumit was keeping from Jenny like the preview showed?  I often watch half assed.

He quit his job so he would have time to “do things for her”.

I’m disappointed inJenny. I thought she would be more into the adventure of moving to a foreign country, learning the culture, tasting the different foods, learning the language. Instead it seems like she wants to be clinging to Sumit all the time and living as a tourist, not even attempting to assimilate.

Heck 'ya, if I lived in India I'd eat like a local and get sick like a tourist!

I'm sorry but I find this unfortunate child disgusting.  Deavan is no mother at all, the poor kid just kind of aimlessly does whatever she wants and her "mother" just reacts. Now she's having another child!

I keep waiting for drama about the elephant in the room: there's no way her baby is Jihoon's. They've "been together about 8 months". He flew to the US 3 months into the relationship.  So if all this is true, she can't be more than 5 months. That's not what she said on the episode last night.

And she would be completely stupid enough to try to pass off some other Asian guy's baby, even if he isn't Korean, thinking it won't matter.

I see why TLC picked her for the show. Smh.

Didn't he get her a car to drive there?  Later, she said it had problems and that's why they had to walk to the Grandmothers.

But do Laura & Jenny really have any substantial savings to swindle ?? And where are they going to work in their new foreign country to support Aladdin & Sunit (?) ??

My grandson just had his 1-year checkup. The doc said it is time for sippy cups--the ones that don't have suction (nipple-like) spouts. At 1!

She probably would walk around spilling milk and juice all over the house if the gave her a cup. And tossing the empty cup at anyone she got pissy at.

We did away with sippy cups early on, they always dropped and spilled. We changed to small plastic cups and there was no walking around with them. They had to sit at the table or on their little stool in the kitchen.  No more sticky floors or having the kids find a couple day old sippy cup under the couch and nearly drink sour milk.

I live in the northern New Jersey and there have been lots of power outages due to winter storms or seasonal severe weather related outages. Winter time it’s tough to take an icy shower, but if it’s that or stink, you suck it up and get it done. Warmer weather means the cold water isn’t AS COLD and you don’t have chattering  teeth.

India is pretty hot, I would think the water temp never gets really cold.  I thought Sumit said he needed to get an electrician to hook up the hot water.

I wonder if Jihoon is an only child, if South Korea had a one child rule like China.  See, Devan's decision to bring Feral Child to Vegas on a trip to meet the parents just shows her questionable decision making.  Like a poster said upthread, they could have gone to Donny and Marie, some magic acts, or some other shows.  Instead they will have Feral Child running on the counters, not sitting still for dinner and jumping from the stairs.  Fun.

I live in Vegas and there is a vibrant Asian community here.  In addition, many casinos cater to Asians.  Just off the Strip is a great Chinatown area with world class restaurants and Asian markets.  If I were deavan, I would take my future in laws there.  One Google click would have have told her that.  But I guess brains are not her long suit and no way could could she she take the wild child anywhere.

I am not questioning her decision to go to Las Vegas , I was questioning bringing Feral Child unless you bring along a built in babysitter.  Leave Feral Nell with Jihoon (a stranger to her) so parents and Gummy Goth Girl can go out and NOT communicate?  She wants to impress the future in laws?  Leave the biggest obstacle at home.  I think she has no plans to leave the USA for Korea.  She wants to have a great story to tell about how she hooked up with a hot Asian dude and but sadly, they were kept apart by his traditional parents.  Now poor Gummy Goth Girl is a put upon single mom of two kids at the age of 22 or 23!  Don't worry, there is a hunky Spaniard/French Man/Cuban who will be number #3's daddy.

Either the production shenanigans are off the charts OR our "participants" are dumber than dirt.

My silly, blond, whitebread ass went to Egypt in 1989.  I spent HOURS and weeks at the LIBRARY,  getting my shit together, just as a tourist, not husband hunting!   I knew what vaccines to get, what clothes were respectful, what to do when prayers came over the speakers, etc...  I knew the hoteI water temps, the market vendors and taxi drivers would be sketchy.  I knew about the street beggars and how to politely decline.

I did have dial-up back then, but could drive to the library and hit the card catalog faster😂

I had a fine time with no issues.  I even did some questionable running about in the middle of the night in Cairo, but that's another story.

My point is this.. . these morons act all surprised and idiotic when they hit their destination.  Why??? They have the whole world on their damn phones.

They can make fishlip selfies, but can't figure out what their new neighborhood looks like?  They can't figure out if they can get a job?

Oh STFU and keep being stupid because I flove my trash TeeVee.

And BTW...there was a bartender on my Nile ship that fell "in love" with me after two nights of just pleasant chit chat.  No other contact.  I made the mistake of giving him my snail mail address.  For MONTHS I got big envelopes of pictures and undying letters of love.  Green card hunting? Hee hee. Nah, of course not!

I'm taking my first trip to Europe and I'm spending a week in Paris.  I made a trip to the library too.  I want to learn the customs and make sure I'm respectful of the people as a guest in their country.  I too wonder why these 90 day people don't at least watch some YouTube videos.  Gaaahhhh.

Just Paris.  I'm going in January and I got a killer airfare.  I love guidebooks and I'm learning some French phrases.  My French is atrocious😁  I can't wait.  I'm going to be a solo traveler and I'm spending some time learning the best ways to get around the area.  I'll stop here, except to say I'm nervous and very excited.

I'll resist the urge to come back with a boy toy and break the 90 day tradition.  I'm the same age as Laura ( we also share the same first and middle name) and Jenny.  I want to shake them both.

Good on you!  I have schelleped all over the planet by myself.  "Please" and "Thank you" will fix most anything.

People are really nice!  When you are sitting with your goofy subway map, turning it all around, someone will ask "where you going?".

Tell them!  They will be so happy to help!  Not only that, they'll point out a friend's bar or resto that rocks.

I get so irritated with xenophobic folks that don't want to visit with people different from themselves.  My best memories are times where I just humbled up and let someone else show me something different.

I think she went there, without the little angel of course.  She seems in the market to corner a husband/savior by any means necessary.  I wouldn't be surprised if jihoons only learned about druscilla after Devan was pregnant and he couldn't walk away.

Sucker.  His parents should have taught him about condoms....and Chapstick.

She has a badass kid, she doesn't appear to have a job and no skill set or prospects....unless you like oversalted cheesy eggs.

She doesn't seem to have a sense of humor and seems unwilling to take any accountability for the fact that her child is poorly behaved.

Anyways, good luck jihoon!

Without spoiling anything, someone had linked the Instagram accounts of a few of these couples and I’m surprised TLC allows that since it basically removes the “suspense” of whether they stay together or not.

I know the "oh my god, the (food, clothes, house) is so different here!"  is for drama, but it's just too unrealistic in the interweb world.   Of course, I'd also like to believe these really stupid people aren't walking amongst us, so there's that.

Once in awhile, I travel with other people and it's okay in short bursts.   Travelling alone is my Utopia, skipping a tourist trap without guilt, eating weird stuff at  ridiculous hours and just letting the day unfold without any real plan😍😍😍

I find myself in the unfortunate position of agreeing with evelin.  I think Corey was being completely superior and extra at her grandmother's house.  Yeah, suck it the fuck up Corey, you're in a poor village in the third world country.  No electricity, no nets, just poor people doing the best they can.  Proudly talking about the humble bed they have for you and you're turning up your nose.  Shameful behavior.

If you were that worried about the mosquitoes you should have stayed home.

BUT, she really should have worn her special boutique church clothes to meet him.

It always is with the 90 day franchise.  A race to the bottom with a photo finish.

I thought he said thank you very nicely to the grandmother. Evelin is one of the meanest I have ever seen on this show.

On 7/3/2019 at 10:44 AM, Gigglepuff said:

Yeah, I can see both sides here too. One one hand, it's obvious that Evilin made zero effort to help Corey when he first arrived, and that was a total bitch move. From what we see on the show, it's like she doesn't even want him there (I totally don't blame her, he's a dud), but if that's the case she should have spoken up and told him to take a long walk off a short cliff already.

At the same time, I don't feel sorry for people who choose to go to poor countries and expect things to be different for them. It's a"I'm so precious and special, I shouldn't have to put up with these conditions!" attitude. It rubs me the wrong way, as if the person is implying that it's okay for all the locals to subjected to poverty, but not themselves.

Malaria is a real thing and it kills people. So she can say she doesn’t care because the mosquitos don’t bite HER, but if they bite Corey, he could die. It’s not so much about expecting things to be different because he’s so special. Many local people use nets. Corey doesn’t want to die and frankly, Evelin should care more about his safety. An acquaintance of mine died a year after moving to Tanzania because he got Malaria. Moshi was also a poor village  but we could still find mosquito nets. Even the locals used them sometimes and I met several whose family members died from malaria, so the locals know quite well how serious it is and they take as much precaution as anyone else. Corey’s fear is valid and she dismissed him because she is an abusive bitch. It really got me when she told him to go home if he didn’t like it. She could have directed him to where he could get spray or a net but she chose to be a raging bitch. Like usual.

That was the first time meeting her grandmother and his "thank you" after clearly showing his disappointment and lack of appreciation for the time and effort the woman put forward didn't make up for that IMO.

Corey is taking medication for malaria IIRC.  I understand being worried about the disease, but mosquitos can bite anytime and if the concern is so great that you're going to make a stink about not having a tent it's probably a good idea to a) make absolutely sure youve told your s/o, b) carry around netting cocoons in your luggage like Paul or c) stay home.

Whining about it literally changed nothing.  There was absolutely nothing anyone could do at that point about the state of the house.

Paul is true to form and normally wears pants and always breaks out that netting tent he has.  Corey hops around in shorts and tee shirts and shorts and I'm not sure what defense he has against daytime mosquitos and why he can't use the same protection at night.  Or ask for a blanket/sheet.

i think evelin is generally awful.....if their storyline is real.  But I sometimes see her point about Corey being infantile and coddled.

Yeah, I was struck by how dismissive she was to his fear of mosquito bites.  There have been numerous NGO fund-raising efforts to provide people who live in mosquito and hence malaria-ridden countries--not tourists but people like Evil Lynne, who were born there and live there all their lives--with mosquito netting.  This is, to me, further proof that (duh) this is yet another faked story line, this time to drive home the notion that Evil Lynne is a greedy, wicked, heartless bitch and Corey a total pussy.

Nobody's forcing us to watch this show, god knows, and truth be told, I love it.  The more outrageous the story, the better afaik.  But we shouldn't allow ourselves to be drawn in so deeply that we buy everything TLC is selling.  Would they *really* allow these amateur actors to be put in mortal danger like this?  Remember the ridiculous radio dramas our grandmothers listened to?  Well, most of you probably don't, but they were even more outrageous than General Hospital or One Life to Live.  I think the so-called "reality shows" we love to hate are direct descendants of this venerable line, so I refuse to get worked up about anything I see on them, beyond their priceless ability to entertain me and provide me with comic material that's so obvious it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

The medication for malaria is just a preventative antibiotic. It can’t be taken long-term according to my doctor. That’s why people die.

I think he was just really tired from travel and probably annoyed that she didn’t pick him up. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how my mood would hold up under those circumstances. I see that corey is a pussy ass but that’s only because he puts up with Evelin. She walks all over him and that’s unattractive but I don’t see that he’s a bad person or anything. Just a doormat.

That's interesting, because IIRC, Corey asked his Dr in the U.S. if he'd have to take it the rest of his life, since he was moving "forever", and that Dr.said yes.

The drugs they take are mostly a form of quinine, although there is one antibiotic mentioned.
