As much as I like Denise, I have never liked all her raunchy talk either. However I think Brandi takes both the mean girlness and vulgarity to a level none of the others do.

This is a given. I don’t know how anyone could have a deep friendship with Brandi or trust her with anything. I’m surprised she’s never sold out her friend who married Bruce Willis. Or maybe she has and we don’t know.

I don’t feel sorry for Denise at all. What did she think she was signing up for? if you have a pimple on the back of your neck it’s going to get exposed no matter how much you try to hide it.

A new element is in play since Denise joined.

She's had minor roles and major roles in film and TV; she's done commercials and a shit ton of magazine covers; she posed nude for Playboy a few months after a pregnancy; she's walked many genuine (not vanity) runways; she's placed respectably on Sexiest and Most Beautiful lists; she wrote a memoir; her (solo) reality show ran for two seasons; she generously contributes time and money to numerous charities (pets, disaster relief, cancer, the needs of newborns).

As a single women, she adopted a special needs infant and mothered her ex's two sons for an extended period while their parents were drugged up.

Except for two episodes she appeared in on the ex's Two And A Half Men sitcom, the new element in play is that her entire career is due to her solo efforts and hustle. No successful husband or boyfriend or sugar daddy or sweet divorce settlement entered into it. She pays her own way. She may not have a lot but what she does have she has earned by herself (while also remaining exceptionally close to and caring for her parents during their health issues). 

In addition to all that, she can look fine when she goes glam but her go-to is jeans (or shorts) with minimal makeup and a high pony. They don't know how to handle the total package that is Denise, who (perhaps because of editing) was the only one who brought a hostess gift for Erika. (I'm guessing it wasn't editing).

She has them outgunned and outclassed while barely exerting herself. Thank goodness for her potty mouth, it gives them something NOKD (Not Our Kind, Dear) to hang on her. Phew. 

LOL. 

 

Much as some of them want to make Denise out to be this "ragamuffin" "phony" who's the one being "an asshole," yeah no. 

The whole cast is attractive, but Denise is by far the most naturally pretty, along with Garcelle. Look at photos of all of them during their teen years. Denise was a knockout with flawless features. That's strike one against her. These women all enjoy attention. She is even more threatening when she has the nerve to doll up like all the rest of them do. How dare she? Doesn't she know it's only okay for the less feminine tomboy to suddenly get glam?

Speaking of those flawless features, they got Denise work as a teen model-actress. She's been busting her butt from a young age and has continued to do so while raising three kids, one of them being special needs. She may not have as much money as some of them, but at least what you see is HERS, not from a husband or grifting. How many of the rest of them can make that claim? Rinna and Garcelle? These women all want to be known as successful. It's strike two for being more than a Housewife. 

And then there's the fame factor. What some of these women crave more than anything. Besides her beauty and success, she is the most famous too. No one knows any of the rest of them outside Real Housewives, other than again, Rinna and Garcelle. She was the gorgeous girl that faked drowning so Slater would save her and has been steadily working in Hollywood ever since. She's even a Bond Girl. That's strike three against Denise. Why couldn't she be successful in a way that doesn't garner attention? 

In addition to the superficial stuff she has on the others, she's sweet and not catty toward her fellow cast mates over petty nonsense. But because she has the nerve to speak up if a guest in her home is being picked on or she stands up for herself if someone is talking down to her, she's the one who's being an asshole to these poor gentle, subdued women? Yea, that's a crock.

Kyle goes back and forth between a pit bull and a crybaby. Erika's whole schtick was not giving fucks, but she's got a nasty temper and most certainly gives plenty of fucks. These ladies are going to call out Denise for pretending to be laid-back because she's not chill 24 hours a day, seven days a week? She's a human and not a robot. The others aren't the only ones who are wives, mothers, and have careers. The most laid-back person would get exasperated dealing with them.  

Even though it hasn't been featured on RHBH, as Suomi stated, Denise has done a lot of charitable work for both animals and the humankind. She is aware of how fortunate she is. Compare her reaction to the fires with how snobby Camille was. She doesn't judge people for not being glam enough or for being too glam or for having less or for having more. She's not a jealous, competitive mean girl. It's some of the others who are full of it and projecting.  

Team fucking Denise Richards.

A couple years ago I read Denise's 2011 memoir The Real Girl Next Door and I liked it a lot. Some reviewers complained because she didn't dish the details of the reasons behind her divorce so don't read it expecting that. The kindle version from Amazon currently is $9.99; here is a fun excerpt:

As for my wedding dress, several designers offered to make it. That kind of generosity was beyond my imagination. But I had my heart set on wearing one particular designer, Giorgio Armani, and he wasn't among those who'd offered. Nevertheless, I asked my publicist if she could ask if Armani would be interested in making my dress. I knew it was a long shot. I mean, who gets her wedding dress designed by Giorgio Armani?

I did! Not only did Giorgio Armani say he would design my wedding dress, he also wanted to make dresses for my maid of honor (my sister Michelle), my mother, as well as tuxedos for Charlie, his best man (his closest friend Tony Todd) and my father. I was blown away, I'd expected him to politely say thanks but no thanks, but instead this was way more than I would've dared to dream. However, there was a condition: Mr Armani also wanted us to fly to Italy and meet his design team and asked if we would attend his fashion show as well. Some condition!

Once there, we met Mr Armani at a villa where his design team was waiting for us. Again, fantasy time! Mr Armani was stunningly handsome in person, and a gentleman. He couldn't have been any nicer. He didn't speak much English, but through his translator he mentioned that since we didn't want Charlie to see my dress they were splitting us up. Then the fantasy really took off. The men's team ushered Charlie into one part of the villa and I followed Mr Armani and the women's design team into another room, where they showed me numerous sketches they'd already done and then tons of fabrics they'd pulled for me to look at.

During my fitting, Mr Armani invited us to his personal villa for lunch and Casa Armani, as you would expect, was exquisite. It was perfect. Charlie and I felt like the Beverly Hillbillies. We traded nervous glances through the meal, fearful we might break or spill something. But we had an amazing time, enjoying good food and conversation together. The meal couldn't have been better. The art was museum quality. Even the air had a unique fragrance. It was the quintessential once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The next day Charlie and I attended Mr Armani's fashion show and in keeping with the theme of the trip we were dressed in Armani from head to toe,  which had been sent to our hotel. It was Charlie's first fashion show and he was excited, and cute. Right before the show, Sophia Loren was ushered in. She stopped to say hello to Charlie, who had met her through his father many years ago. I was in awe. Meeting her, the most beautiful woman in Italy, was the icing on the cake.

It has been mentioned in a few posts that Denise stepped in and parented Charlie and Brooke's young twins when the need arose. The details are horrendous and it's not a stretch to say that very few people would have kept those little boys as long as she did. I will always give her credit for stepping up and making a prolonged effort because it speaks to the kind of person she is. 

She wrote an 8-page letter to the judge overseeing the case when she realized the seriousness of the issues and decided to relinquish guardianship. I won't post the link to the letter but you can find if if you're interested.  One of the problems was intentional and frequent cruelty to animals.

I won't say more than that about what they did because they are minors, but their behaviors screamed severe abuse and trauma.

Me too! I really enjoyed it and recommend it a lot. I keep hoping she will write another one. I don’t care about the dirt like most, I think she’s enjoyable. I loved her old reality show, relationship with her Dad and all of her adopted pets.

Rinna said in a talking head or something that she thought Denise was upset about the women talking a certain way at her party when her kids were around was her way of making up for sharing on TV the sex stuff she said about her husband early on.  This was Denise's way of attempting to clean up her image after all that.

There might be some truth there - for whatever reason.  For example, Charlie recently went to the court to reduce alimony or something so having a tidy image might be in Denise's best interest. Or, she may have made a misstep in how she came on the show.  

But, it doesn't matter.  Kids were present which means adults should behave a certain way - as Garcelle so clearly stated.  

The hypocrisy of the others is astounding, too, I think.  Erica Jayne shooshed Sutton and said something about behaving respectibly in her home.  That is all Denise was saying about the party.  Erica got a pass, but Denise didn't.

Having said all this, I think Denise may have underestimated what it takes to be on a show like this.  Nothing is private and trust is rare.  I hope she regroups and takes the reins and owns who she is without apology going forward.  

Unrelated....I just read about Corey Feldman's claim that Corey Haim told him that Charlie Sheen sexually abused Haim while on a movie set.  We'll likely never know the truth, but I don't doubt it for a second.

I read that a third party, another actor/not Feldman, said Haim told him that he/Haim and Charlie smoked a joint and then had consensual sex. This was when they were 13 and 19 and making a movie. Haim thought they were embarking on some kind of relationship but when it was over Charlie turned as cold as ice and remained that way. Haim was devastated. 

In light of Charlie's ensuing reputation as a user of people and abuser of substances, I don't doubt it.

Haim is sadly no longer with us to give a first-hand account (if he even would).

This is what pisses me off about Feldman.  Perhaps that was something Haim never wanted shared, just a personal experience he shared with Feldman...yet here goes Feldman divulging this information (whether real or created) about his best friend after best friend's demise.  Haim's probably still rolling around in his grave over this.  And watching him on Celebrity Boot Camp, he's an egomaniacal asshole who apparently thinks his star still shines brightly in Hollywood...even though he has to resort to trash TV to get a paycheck.    

The entire situation regarding Sheen/Feldman/Haim is terribly sad, but as Haim isn't around to confirm/deny any of it,  we'll never really know what transpired.  I never take a single word from Feldman's mouth as being actual fact and Charlie's abhorrent track record in life speaks for itself.  

I'm sure Denise knows or suspects far more than she will ever tell (outside of a courtroom) because Charlie is the father of their children.  I've never read her statement to the court regarding her guardianship of Charlie's kids, but I think I might try to search around and see if I can find it.

Haim is sadly no longer with us to give a first-hand account (if he even would).

This is what pisses me off about Feldman.  Perhaps that was something Haim never wanted shared, just a personal experience he shared with Feldman...yet here goes Feldman divulging this information (whether real or created) about his best friend after best friend's demise.  Haim's probably still rolling around in his grave over this.  And watching him on Celebrity Boot Camp, he's an egomaniacal asshole who apparently thinks his star still shines brightly in Hollywood...even though he has to resort to trash TV to get a paycheck.    

The entire situation regarding Sheen/Feldman/Haim is terribly sad, but as Haim isn't around to confirm/deny any of it,  we'll never really know what transpired.  I never take a single word from Feldman's mouth as being actual fact and Charlie's abhorrent track record in life speaks for itself.  

I'm sure Denise knows or suspects far more than she will ever tell (outside of a courtroom) because Charlie is the father of their children.  I've never read her statement to the court regarding her guardianship of Charlie's kids, but I think I might try to search around and see if I can find it.  

 

I understand why some may doubt Feldman and assume all he's trying to do is stay relevant. Perhaps it is true to some degree, but I still believe him.  I think he named Charlie Sheen and 3 others.  Why toss Charlie in the mix.  There would be no need and doing so only harms himself - far more than any damage Charlie would experience.  No one is going to give Feldman the time of day, and I'd wager he knows that about himself and recognizes most will doubt his credibility.

There's just no motivating factor I can think of to name Charlie Sheen other than the truth.

It's called a court ordered custody agreement.  Denise doesn't have the power to deny Charlie visitation with his kids.
