Who Will Stop Watching?

Recommended Posts

Thanks @UsernameFatigue ... I'm on Shaw cable, so I'll have another look tonight.  That will happen after I watch Mary Kills People, Handmaid's Tale & Big Little Lies.  Much appreciated!!!

I actually stopped watching as of the episode where Kyle and Lisa have their fight, meaning I didn’t watch that episode.  I’m not a die hard Lisa fan, it was more the dog angle that bugged me, and the poor Dorit stuff.  I’m happy to wean myself away from housewives shows when I can.  I was falling out of love with it anyway.

As of now, I’m down to only RHONY, since I’ve dumped the other ones.

Well, what a surprise, I checked my "line-up" & there it was on Tuesday night.  I swear it wasn't there last night.  All's well!!  Thanks one & all.

I, too, will stop watching this shitstorm  of a show. Thanks to other posters (not sure if it was on this thread or one of the others) I re-examined my avoidance of NY. I am an unapologetic B fan - warts and all - and had stopped with she left. I found Jill unsufferable, Luann arrogant, Ramona ridiculously clueless often stirring things up yet denying responsibility, and Alex embarrassingly pretentious, but overall harmless (I wish she was still on the show). This weekend, I began watching the current season and found it actually enjoyable. There is an entirely different mindset and overall feeling of connection amongst the cast, even with Dorinda who seems like a jill replacement. From what I have seen to date, no one really seems to be out to de-throne anybody and even B (as far as I have seen thru Ep 6) has toned it down a bit. That show is definitely back on my radar so thanks to the people who got me thinking about it again. I'll miss LVP, will probably watch VPR for another season and hope she comes up with another glitzy, puppy-filled, house-pornish spin off. The very idea of bringing back kim bitchards and brandi speaks of desperation and is not the sort of lowlife crapfest I care to waste my time on.

I had sworn off this show at the end of last year, but still read the comments here. Well, I was pulled back in.

I cannot stand the ganging up on one person. I liked Brandi when she first came on ( I feel like throwing up saying that). Mainly because of how she was ganged up on.

I have always like LVP and loved when she and Kyle were together. But this year made me feel so badly for her. These women were just awful to her.

I am not sure if I will tune in next season. I do not like any of the women.

Ditto the gang-ups, and I too liked Brandi when she was new. Also feel ashamed! lol

I will keep watching. I’ve loved the show since the beginning and would have fomo if I didn’t tune in. I will miss Lisa though.

I will watch no matter what. I'm in Australia, so I also watch Cheshire, Auckland, Toronto, Melbourne and Sydney. I can't not watch!

This post is great.  I feel the exact same way.  I am Bravo's RH bitch and I don't see that ending anytime soon.  I, too, watch all of the Housewives shows that are available to me, including sitting through a season of Auckland that only aired in the US years after production, and was less interesting than watching paint dry.  (What I won't do is pay extra for episodes.  I have never seen RHVancouver for that reason).

I have some casting preferences, but let's just take the worst case scenario possible--Carlton, Brandi, Kim, Marisa, Eden, Dana (the one that Brandi called 'Pam' with the $25k sunglasses), and...Faye Resnick.  Yes, I would watch.

I would watch Dorit, Teddi and Rinna alone.  I would watch LVP, Yolanda and Camille.  There is no combination that would make me say, "Oh, fuck this."

The flip side of there being no characters that would make me unplug is that if we had a dream cast, but the show got really scripted and awkward.  If things became the way they were in, say, "Made in Chealsea:  NYC" I would either stop watching or keep watching for irony, they way I watch Dance Moms now.

The only things that have caused me to just abuptly tell my husband, "Ok!  We're done!  Get this off the DVR now" were a show that went political and heavy-handed out of nowhere and a show that tried to portray courtroom scenes every single week totally unrealistically.  I have a feeling that we're safe from either of those with BH.

I would just feel incomplete if I didn't know a RH character or episode.  I like being able to name every Housewife who has ever appeared on a domestic iteration of Real Housewives off the top of my head.  I like being able to compare this current BH situation with season one of RHOC, and season 10 of Atlanta.  I would miss that if I stopped watching any of the franchises.

I do think if there was one episode that I had to turn off, for any reason, I would never watch the show again, not even in the background. Once you're out with me, you're out.  Just ask Dr. Phil and most of those awful TV vets lol.

I'll probably watch. I'll have an infant when the next season airs, and what the hell else will I have to do and it provides a nice opportunity to drink wine and talk shit on people I don't actually know.

However, I am not that pumped about the idea of Kathy Hilton joining.  It makes me uncomfortable when family members are on - one of the reasons I couldn't watch NJ.  The Kim/Kyle dynamic was bad enough.  I just hate to watch people who actually do love each other and have a real tie to one another be able to see how the other talks shit on them when they're not around.

For me, the ideal scenario would be for next season to drop Teddi, Rinna and Denise (I just find her kind of gross- like maybe she doesn't bathe regularly- and anyone who is friends with Brandi is a pass for me).  Keep Kyle, Camille and Dorit  (I'm just waiting for her to get an eviction notice like Lynn & Frank and then she can go), cast 2 new women and somehow entice LVP to film as a friend with the two newbies and then have some sort of big arc where she makes up with Kyle and Dorit and returns in the heavy friend of capacity for following seasons like Camille has been previously.

When I think of which housewives I would want dropped, I realize I would want them ALL dropped.  So that's my sign that I am DONE with this show.

I already left the show a couple of seasons ago, so I don't count.

NYC is the only one I still watch because they've just devolved into mean girl fests.  NYC is a season away from going the same way.

I left the OC after the cancer scam. I left ATL because the screaming constantly was getting to me.  I never started Potomac because it was ATL out of the gate.  I left BH when Kyle continued to protect Kim and Kim was an out of control addict with no muzzle (Brandi didn't make the show any better).  I tried Dallas, but eh, was just boring - self absorbed rich women with no redeeming qualities.

And that's the problem with the franchise.  Most of the women across the board aren't even married, so calling them housewives is a bit of a stretch.  This franchise was supposed to give us an inside look at rich people, with their surroundings and their trips (funded by BRAVO, but hey...).  Now it's just everyone getting drunk and threatening to sue each other.  Where's the fun in that?

I stopped watching a few weeks back, not because of any LVP loyalty, but because this season is a dumpster fire. I was fast forwarding thru most of it before that, but saw the comment about LVPs teeth, mocking LVP and Ken with the Goodbye Kyle skit, minimizing the exploitation of those in the sex trade, and the constant puppy pile on...it's all just too Jerry Springer.

I took a break for a season or two on each of the RH shows I watch. I went back to watching them. I just fast forward pass the bitches I can't stand.

It's my type trash TV, there is quite a bit of TV programming I refuse to watch.

Looks like you have your TV lineup in order.   I loved Big Little Lies.   Don't think I saw Mary Kills People and refuse to watch Handmaids Tale.      I don't watch on TV because I hate paying the extra cable costs.  I can wait a year or two to watch the whole season on my rental at Netflix.   Another good feature, easy for binge watching and NO Ads.

I’m out.  I adore lvp.  I want a beautiful pink house, swans, mini horses to pet, custom made silk blouses, my own rose’, trips to the south of France to visit relatives, and the opportunity to use my riches to make a difference. The rest of the cast can fuck themselves.

I pretty much stopped watching after PantyGate. I would check in every now and then if I saw there was a marathon, but found myself flipping the channel to the ID channel a lot during. I would just get so bored. This season, I don't think I have watched a single entire episode. I just keep up with the forums, read recaps, and watch the parts I can stand on YouTube. I honestly won't miss the show. I'm an LVP fan, but not enough that I wouldn't watch without her. But, the show has nothing interesting for me outside of her for me.

I've always found Erika boring. Rinna lost me when she tried to Gaslight Eden, and then kept trying to make her daughters happen. Kyle's anxiety kept getting more and more difficult to watch. Plus, she is just a horrible friend. Teddi is a horrible combination of sanctimonious, boring, and obnoxious. And, Dorit is just gross. I had sympathy for Dorit in her first season, I really did. I thought it must be horrible to be around these wealthy women with caring,(and in some cases) good looking husbands, and have to pretend that her life was perfect when it so obviously wasn't. But now, I just keep thinking that Dorit broke the show. And then, Teddi burned it to the ground.

Since they chose to bring back Kim and Brandi, Bravo must know this show is circling the drain.   For a while I thought Denise might breathe new life into BH but she proved me wrong.   She's gross.

Without LVP there's not a single cast member that interests me.   I realize LVP isn't perfect but I agree with @mindthinkr.  There's just "something" about her.

Unless LVP returns along with some new cast members, I'm out.

ETA:  If the OC brings back Gina and that new lawyer chic, I'm quitting the OC too.   That would leave me with just NY which has always been my favorite.

I don't get the appeal of RHONY.

Tagging in?  I'm just about ready for the fork. Used  to lurve RHOA (don't judge me!) until NeNe got a case...

Used to lurve RHOC until Vickie got a case...

Used to lurve RHOBH until they ALL got a case....

Only have RHONY and hell, as soon as Bethenny gets a case.....

NO desire to watch the HILTON SISTERS 2020. No, just NO.

Maybe I'm naïve (maybe?), but I assumed that the entire LVP doggygate story line was cooked up in order to give LVP an exit in order to start her next spinoff.  Can LVP really sustain THREE shows, RHOBH, VPR and a new doggie show?  That's just crazy, and of course LVP would prefer her own shows over one where she has to share billing.  That's just my take.

I got overwhelmed by all the Bravo shows and scaled back when New Jersey got stupid and Atlanta/Nene got mean.  I am glad I never started watching VPR and won't start any new shows.  It will be interesting to see what it is that finally causes me to quit RHOC, RHBH, RHNY, but I don't think it will be seeing LVP move on to some new show.

Count me in on wanting a major overhaul.  How about combining OC with BH and just call it CA?  They can hold an orange colored diamond.  My watchable team would be LVP, Boy George, Camille (cause she's so dramatic and brings real estate porn), Rinna (cause she says and does stupid things - comic relief), Eileen Davidson (keep Rinna occupied and she must bring more dirt too), Denise (but she better bring the dirt), Jeana Keough and Shannnn Beador.

Is there a new doggie show?  I've heard people here bringing it up all the time but I don't know that I've seen confirmation that there is a show.

I left RHOA because I was embarrassed for my city.

I left RHOC because Vickie was gross - she was playing a part to keep her job, not living a life.

I may leave RHBH because of LVP.  She was definitely the queen.

I will definitely leave if Dorit returns.

Kim is sad.  She needs a permanent residence in rehab.  Whether she is actively drinking or not, that girl is permanently messed up.  She does not need to come back.

Denise  needs to grow up.  The sex talk is disgusting.

Brandi just doesn't belong on this type of show.  She is nothing.

Kyle I like.  I know that's unpopular, but even with her crazies, she is endearing.

I wouldn't mind Heather Dubrow joining in.  Rinna appeared with her on OC as her buddy.  You know that relationship would blow up.  That would be worth the watch.

Never is a long time, so, I hesitate to say that I will never return, but, I'll likely not watch it if they have the same cast as this season, minus LVP.  What's so bizarre, is that I wasn't even a huge LVP fan over the last couple of seasons! (I was earlier though.)  But, this season just struck a cord with the whole bizarre puppy gate mess.  It really makes no sense and is so convoluted that I wonder how these nitwits ever figured out such a thing.  lol  Which brings me to suspect producer manipulation and I hate that kind of thing.  But, I'm sure they'll muddle along.  They'll certainly get as good of ratings as Southern Charm New Orleans or Relationshep (With Shep Rose).   It'll just be embarrassing for them to be ranked so low though.  lol

This season, I joined a belly dancing class.  On Tuesday nights.

I have watched lately, but not glued to it.  Laundry is getting folded, items dusted, general house cleaning.

When the in-laws call during the show, I'm actually fully listening to them now....and I'm not trying to figure out a way to get off the phone.

The other howives proved to me this season that they are incredibly boring.

They talked about LVP constantly. Behind her back.  Which is a HUGE thing according to them.

And they had nothing  that I related to.

Ericka still has a giant stick up her pantyless ass.

Rinna manipulates everyone into fighting at meals to hide that she doesn't actually eat.  And then wants me to feel sorry for how she fucked up her kids.  Own it Rinna. You.  Dont.  Eat.

Kyle.  Well I just don't find anxiety entertaining.   And her neediness in regards to women and friendships is too high maintenance for me.  And she keeps making TMCFR, "relevant" by putting her on tv.

Denise is "fuck", giant dicks and all about keeping her head in the sand unless it's about Kim and Rinna.  Oh and being high.

Teddi.  She knows everything.  Except to stay out of other people's arguments. And accountability is just a word to her.  Unless she's holding other people accountable for the choices she makes. Then she's a poor little victim of manipulation.

Dorit should spend the rest of her life being chased.  But I have to give her props into manipulating the group into thinking that she is somehow a victim.

Really it's going to depend on who stays, who go's and who is new.

But I don't think I will have the giddy joy I used to have on Tuesdays.

Thank you for taking the time to express exactly the way I feel, so I don't have to! It currently takes me about 5 minutes to watch this show after FFing through everyone I can't stand.

I am not sure I can take it if Brandy and Kim Richards are on.    I could not stand either of them when they were on before and I don't see how they contribute anything new to the show.    I haven't seen enough of Kathy Hilton to know if I'd like her--she might bring some of the grande dame personality to the show.

I’ve lost interest And twice I tried to watch and shut it off.  It was too annoying and dull.  I was never a huge lvp fan before this but the way she was treated was such a turnoff no —one deserves that and if it was someone else getting this treatment I’d feel the same way. I’m done.

I already have stopped watching and Dorit is 100% of the reason why. Of the three or four episodes I did try to watch this season, I didn't watch all the way through because every time she was on or the issue of what she did with Lucy came up, I wanted to reach through the screen and bitch-slap her.  I have a very negative visceral reaction every time I see her -- I am not watching these women to get worked up -- this is supposed to be a fun little escape during the week.

Dorit was horrible before this season but after the dog nonsense (times 2, remember, Lucy was dog #2 in their house) and her making herself into the victim and the rest of them feeding that narrative? Done. And for as long as Dorit is on the show? I'm out.

I'm pretty sure I will stop watching.  I am barely making it through this season.   I read during the last episode and fell asleep the one before that.

I never thought that LVP (or any of them) was an integral part of the show.   But she must have added something in my world because I am bored out of my mind this season.  Plus the fact that I hate pile-ups (and this one especially having taken place shortly after LVP's brother died).

Kyle throws good parties, but overall, she bores me.   I have no desire to see Kim or Brandi darken my screen ever again.  Nor do I have any desire to watch Rinna and Dorit battle to see who becomes top dog once LVP is gone.   I don't care for either one of them - especially Dorit and her never ending parade of Chanel and poor-me pity parties.  Teddy is sometimes interesting, but overall, doesn't add much.  I'm tired of Erica Jane, although I wouldn't mind watching Erica Girardi.  Denise Richards is fine, but she could lighten up on the sex talk.  LVP added something that's missing now.

Clearly, puppy-gate was to be the season's big drama until LVP threw a monkey wrench into it. Once that happened, it seems like the producers (I guess) didn't know what direction to go in.  So last week, we had the absolutely ridiculous "argument" with Rinna about Kim Richards on behalf of Erica who didn't give a flip.   Before that, the group intended to confront Camille until her house burned down, so they'll save that for the reunion.  I know these shows are scripted to a degree, but this "drama" seems so manufactured, it's ridiculous.

(And then to have to listen to Kyle and the rest of them talk about how they wish LVP would show up so they could "move on". No, they want her to show up so they can bash her again.)

I don't think I'll make it to the reunion at this rate.

I'm going to watch but it's no longer must see TV for me. Dorit, Teddi, Erika and Rinna are insufferable and I'd prefer watching LVP to the four of them.

I admit though that I'm annoyed at LVP for throwing in the towel and not just finishing things up by going to the reunion. I remember her thinking it was lame that Adrienne didn't attend during her final season so I wish that LVP had quit after the reunion and just gone out with all guns blazing about how she really feels about all of the women.

I so disagree with Erika regarding the ludicrous idea that they're all getting along better without LVP in the picture. These women fight about petty (and occasionally not so petty) shit on a regular basis and LVP being out of the picture hasn't changed jack shit in that regard. As a group, not matter which RH show, there are always going to be feuds and there are always going to be one or two women who are viewed as bad guys by the other women.

The show hasn't become more light hearted now that LVP is no longer apart of it. Erika is there to snipe and roll her eyes as usual. Dorit is whiney and shallow like she always is. Rinna is stirring the pot and is the most desperate because this is probably the best gig she's ever had and she's paranoid that it'll be taken away from her. Teddi brings nothing to the table. First season she got a pass from me but now I feel like it's pretty clear that there's no depth to her. I have no complaints about Denise but I don't know if she and Kyle are enough to hold my interest. Time will tell, I guess.

I was so bummed when I read that it was a for sure thing with Lisa leaving. These rumors had been around since season 4 so I always thought things would work themselves out.

It's still crazy to me that Dorit is completely off of the hook with people for giving the dog away to some random person (who obviously couldn't be trusted given where the dog ended up) instead of giving it back to VD. Dorit gets to finish this season under the delusion that she did nothing wrong. The injustice of this point truly frustrates me.

I agree.  EJ actually seemed kind of disconnected from the other ladies.  She didn't really have much to contribute to in the conversations we saw.  She seemed indifferent to it all.  Maybe she's bored, but staying for the paycheck and screen time.  I guess her being hungover didn't help.  She just wanted to be left alone.

I really loathe Erika. There's nothing worse than a person who came from a very modest background and marries rich, then acts like her shit don't stink and everyone else is beneath her. And that pretty much describes Erika to a T. Shes a gold digger who married very well. Be gracious honey, dont be all, ungracious!

On rare occasion she'll say something non-vapid like, 'everyone should travel and see the world', but even then she cocks it up by spending hours with her sycophantic glam squad, only to parade round a foreign country taking in the sights swathed in 5-digit outfits that look like vomitous billboads for fashion labels...maybe it's a nouveau riche thing, you know, to let other fellow nouveau riche know who you are...???

Yep, this ^^^

I really liked her the first season. She seemed interesting. Now, it’s obvious that’s she’s as self absorbed and boring as the rest of them.

I watch these shows because of the screaming and the fights.  I work in an office where we all sit quietly, do our work and don't gossip.  So I guess these shows are interesting to me.  However, I might stop watching BH just because it's boring.  I never liked LVP.

I’m super excited for next season. The only thing that could make me happier would be if Chrissy Teigen joined the show.

I’d love to watch Chrissy cuz she’s so funny - but wouldn’t wish it on her or her sweet family.

I don't care if LVP is on the show or not. With her limited appearances lately, I never notice she's gone until someone brings her up. What gets me with LVP is that she's taking her fight with Kyle out on the rest of the women. Good riddance then, she can spend more time with her dog rescue and her restaurants.

Everyone is replaceable. There's enough drama to go around.

I think I will watch the season to the end, and then if the cast stays the same, I won't watch it next year.  I'm taking it off my recording list for sure, so I will not even know when it starts next year anyway.

That's what I plan to do.  Love the travel porn - but dislike the tour guides.

Started watching this season but was fast forwarding most of the episodes - watched the big fight in the kitchen and since then not been watching.   RHONY is pretty good but the OC is just trash now.   RHOBH was always my favourite but I think the whole thing is boring now.   I did think it was wrong the way the women ganged up on Lisa Vanderpump - BUT I think this has worked in her favour in that she's leaving.   She's getting out at the right time IMO.

I’m pathetic. The Real Housewives shows are my guilty pleasure and I watch them all, including Vanderpump Rules.

Housewives come and go, and I still tune in. However-my DVR and  fast forward is my friend!!

I didn't watch a single episode this season, only read the comments on here. I'm definitely out next season. It's a shame, because RHOBH was my fav. Now I'm down to just recording RHONY and Vanderpump Rules. I used to be addicted to them all, so I guess that's the silver lining.

The one interesting thing about the RH franchises that have a season where the cast bands together to oust a cast member is the season after.

Its like they forget that getting rid of their common nemesis leaves them without a nemesis.  Then the next season is like the Lord of the Flies and they turn on each other.  So I'll keep up enough to know what happens when they are filming but know for sure that LvP is out.

Sort of wish there were no new people and Erika stayed, so we could see how that group fared without the dark and crazy clouds - the dynamics will shift now.

The new group brings nothing to the table. If they have to depend on the two new people they are in deep trouble.

Look at Denise Richards last season. She is a lot more famous and notorious than these two and she couldn’t carry a season. Even when you threw in a marriage. The bedrock reason for this show has been discarded and they can’t get it back.

They add new people almost every season, and people leave almost every season. I don't think they are depending on these 2 new people to save the show.

You could argue Yolanda was the bedrock of season 6, and show carried fine without her once she was gone.
