Tiffany & Ronald: Aces High, Expectations Low

The judgement about how they spend their money and if they should be planning for the future (education, emergency etc etc) is all totally valid and logical.

The catch is that most of these people are not at all logical. For most, it's their impulse control or lack of that got them to be potential cast on these shows.

"My friend from Jersey came up to Maryland," the TLC star attempts to explain, "and she came, she picked me up, we went to the beach, we stayed at a hotel with the kids and then I checked, and I was like, 'Whoa, I spent $7,000.'"

$7000!

So many questions...

Did she not check out the hotel costs before she went? Did her friend choose the hotel and then stick her with the bill?

Is the $7000 the total cost cos she just hopped in the car without packing and had to buy clothes and beachwear when she got there?

The mind boggles.

$7,000 could have started college funds for the two kids, been a down payment on a car, or paid the rent for a long time, or be the start of an emergency fund.    What a waste to spend that much on a trip to the beach.

But she neeeeeeeeded a well deserved vacation! As if you are entitled to a vacation even though you can’t really afford one. Wasn’t she the one who constantly criticized Ronald about his spending habits?

Hi!  I'm new here and late to the party.  I just finished the Happily Ever After season, and this was my first experience with Ronald and Tiffany.  Wow, she really likes baring her shoulders, doesn't she?  I mean, seriously every top is shoulderless?  Honey...no.  And what did she say to her tattooist?  "I want two hummingbirds, one on each breast, facing each other, but high enough to be seen when I wear my countless shoulderless tops!"?  Ew.  Ronald is no prize but she's even worse because she seems like she should know better.

I'm born and raised in MD and have been to OC, MD many times and if she spent $7,000 there, she's a bigger fool than she already seems to be. It's a nice enough place, but isn't upscale and it isn't like it's even peak season!

I would never pay $7000 to stay in OC, I would have gone to Stone Harbor, NJ for that kind of money or gone to The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's...who blows that kind of money in Ocean City?

She could have taken her kids to Disney for that kind of money.

$7000 is a lot of skeeball games, kiddie rides and Thrasher's Fries!

P.S. My now husband proposed to me in front of the 41 St. Dough Roller...I am not fond of OC and that really sealed it.

Did Tiffany just go to the beach, or somewhere like Atlantic City where there are casinos?    You can drop a massive amount of money at a casino in a very short time?

There’s a smallish casino about 10 minutes outside OC, MD, so it’s possible she spent some money there, but it’s not a casino destination like AC.

My Dad's family is from MD.. I went to Ocean City once - I really loved Seacrets  (went with a nerdy, boring boyfriend) and stayed on Fagers Island - the Lighthouse Hotel.

I guess it depends on where she stayed, when she went and how long she was there. We really like Bethany, which is in Delaware but not far from OC. We stay in a large condo community with a ton of amenities so it's on the pricier side but there are comparable properties in OC and other surrounding beach towns. Anyway - you can spend $3,500 or more in season on a two bedroom condo for a week - and that's not a super luxury type of unit. Add in some rental equipment (umbrella, boogie boards, chairs, etc.), eating out, alcohol and I guess with two adults and two children, you could get to $7,000 pretty easily. You could also do a really nice vacation for much less...

I think the real point is less about what beach she went to and more about why an essentially single mother with no actual job (because reality fame is fleeting and doesn't pay particularly well while you're in it) and two young children, both of whom have no financial support from their fathers, would spend $7,000 on a vacation rather than put that money into a college fund or a down payment on a house or something to secure her kids' future. I don't know what she expects to happen when she loses the weight--is she suddenly going to become some kind of star? I guess she can always revert to blaming Ronald for not being who she already knew he wasn't. That's one thing we know she's good at.

I love each and every one of you here, but you are all assuming she is telling the truth.  I need to see some receipts.  And I would not, in her position, be proud of dropping $7000 in that manner.

A couple of years ago I went to London for 10 days over Christmas, with the flight, hotel, activities, food and endless Harry Potter souvenirs, I probably spent around $3k. Of course I booked four months in advance to get a better deal and don’t have kids on whom that money would be better spent.  For $7k, I would be on European vacation stopping in as many countries as possible. Then again, that might just be encouraging Tiffany to find a new loser to be “dad”’to her kids before her cold shoulders turned angry at him for being the loser everyone already knew him to be.  I would be so ashamed to say I spent $7k on that trip even if it was a lie. No one is envious of her trip and I think that was the whole point of mentioned it’s alleged cost.

It sounds like that story of spending $7000. was part of a contest tv show they are competing on, so she could have pulled anything out of the hat.  The objective, according to the article, seems to be outdoing the other couples.  Sounds bogus to me.

Everything she says sounds bogus.  I want to be clear:  If you have $25,000 sitting in a bank, and you feel you can afford a $7000 trip, DO IT!  But geezaloo, the beach?  How about Amsterdam, Iceland and or Italy???

Yes!!  "Let's go to MoA so we can buy stuff from the same stores we have back at home!"

I've held out on Tiffany for a long time, I want to like her, but she makes it so friggin hard to do so.

I think I *want* to like her because there are just so many loathesome people in this franchise lol.  Haven't watched in a while and I'm actually enjoying my Sundays, and I'm not screaming at the television anymore.  Instead I scream at my computer when I come here to catch up on these clowns lol

Tiffany was able to be likes longer than others because her hair was done, makeup done, and she presented well.  But her constant putting Daniel in the middle and never taking any responsibility made me angry in ways that were unhealthy, lol.  My Sunday nights are now chilling out, pizza for dinner, prepping meals for lunch for the week, and having bar food snacks and watching Sunday Night Football.  Colts vs. 49'ers this Sunday!  Join me!

I am having a hard time believing Tiffany spent $7,000 on a trip to Ocean City, Maryland.  GTFO.  In the fall of 2019, a  ten day trip to London, Paris and Italy costed me a little over $4600.  So you can miss me with that.

I have family in MD... it is inconceivable to me that someone can spend $7K in Ocean City unless they stayed there for like two months.  I also have done Europe trips for much less and not stayed in shithole hostels

I'm not saying this is reasonable, but I can sort of get them there. Two adults and two kids, 6 night, 7 days:

$3,500 - Two bedroom condo for the week including resort fees, etc. (not including taxes and other fees). Some of the resorts there, in peak season, will run you that and, while nice, they aren't necessarily super luxurious

$   500 - Equipment rental for the week - beach chairs, umbrella, a couple of boogie boards, maybe some sand toys and a pack and play for Carlee

$1,200 - Dinner for all four, $200/night x 6 nights. Not that food is that expensive but Tiffany strikes me as the type who runs up a pretty good bar tab because she doesn't pay attention to drinks with little umbrellas costing $15 a pop

$  700 - $100/day x 7 days on the boardwalk - t-shirts, fries, pizza, ice cream, souvenirs, those photos where you dress up in old timey costumes, Funland, etc.

$. 300 - babysitting, $50/night x 6 nights - if the adults went out in the evenings (and I'm guessing they did) and left the kids with a sitter

So I'm $1,100 short of her $7,000 total (which she might have rounded) but I'm sure Tiffany could burn through that in other random shit - overpriced sunscreen because she forgot to pack it; maybe a mani/pedi at a nearby spa; bicycle rental; a boat outing...

The soapdirt article has the translation a little wrong.

In Afrikaans, someone asks if she is an "afrikaanse meise" (Afrikaans girl/speaks Afrikaans it doesn't mean is she from South Africa) but he says she's English (this doesn't mean she is from the U.K it could just mean she is an English speaker from SA).

I came here because I did see that he has a new honey and I was trying to find out if new honey is South African or not. I think Tiff said something about the new love flying in  but again not sure.

My take- new love is looking for some exposure. If she is from out of the country then this is true times 10. If she is local, then possibly there might be a shaky but real relationship between Ronald and sweetie. I did see pix of her and she is pretty. Similar looking somewhat to Tiff ( dark hair  and all)..

The Soapdirt article states she is from the U.K/ Scotland but, just wanted to clarify that Ronald wasn't stating that in his comments...

"Afrikaanse meise =/= South African girl (it means a girl who speaks Afrikaans as .We have 11 official languages in SA and Afrikaans is just one of them... Suid Afrikaner is South African)"

"Engels=/= from England it just means English is her first language/ she identifies as an English speaker"

And vice versa----I think Ronald and his family had real love for that boy. And, no,he won't ever see him or his own daughter ever again and that is sad. Because, unlike a lot of these other train wreck couples, Tiffany went into that knowing full well who Ronald was---warts and all. She deliberately got knocked up by a guy fresh out of rehab who was unemployed, had her fatherless little boy start calling him Dad, then decided life would be a bit rough for her (I do think her Mom and others help her a LOT back in Maryland) and decided to bounce. Zero concern for her kids or Ronald's feelings.

According to this article, Ronald has a new girlfriend.

Quote

Ready for love! 90 Day Fiancé’s Ronald Smith has a new woman in his life, Lauren Fraser, three months after confirming his split from wife Tiffany Franco.

‘90 Day Fiance: The Other Way’: Which Couples Are Still Together?

“Let me introduce everyone to the new person in my life @laurenleightonfraser,” Ronald, 30, captioned an Instagram video on Tuesday, November 16, with his new flame. “You picked me up when I was down!!”

The South Africa native, who fans first met in during season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in 2019, called Lauren a “true pillar” for him, adding that he appreciates her for all that she is.

Also from the article linked above:

Quote

“It’s painful. It’s hurtful. But a woman like me has no choice but to be strong,” she added, asking fans not to send her Ronald’s video via her DMs, saying she’s “not interested” in seeing him “sucking on someone’s neck” amid their breakup.

Tiffany concluded: “I’m not going to let this hurt me more than it already has.”

I'm not sure that was supposed to make me giggle, but it did 😂

Really interested in this... So, they filed the I-130 and it was approved and they are stuck at the NVC stage as they haven't submitted one document (and Tiffany is the reason behind the hold up).

Ronald is incorrect, he won't get approved automatically after the interview. If he is found inadmissible (because of his criminal background) Tiffany can file a waiver and that will take another year or so and I believe $1000.

This woman from Frauded is something... is she making money running this account because I can see it could be seriously profitable.
