I wonder if Ronald and Tiffany really did get legally married. When I was looking into getting married to my American husband in SA I discovered we would have to go to an interview to prove our relationship was bonafide (marriage fraud is pretty big in SA). I think it could have been interesting to add this fact to Ronald and Tiffany's story... but maybe they decided only Jenny and Summit would get the "its difficult to get married to my partner in their country...."

This is an interesting point because

Spoiler

Her IG account reads Tiffany Smith (Ronald's last name) but that does not mean much, really.

My question is who is financing Ronald, and Tiffany?   He does work, and hasn't for a long time, she can't work locally, and they seem to do everything the most expensive way.

I can't stand Tiffany's dad, my guess any idea Tiffany's mother had to come to SA for the wedding was cancelled when she found out ex was going to be there.

Oh my God, I'm so over Tiffany repeating the same shit over and over and over. "He's put me through so much." "We've been through SO much." "I don't know what the future will bring." "I don't know if I can trust him." "One mistake by Ronald and everything we've worked SO HARD for will be over!" Blahblahblah, UGH, please stop and move on. Also, I must not have been paying attention, because I don't know exactly WHAT he has put her through. Can anyone fill me in? Is it just admitting to her that he's got an addiction and a rap sheet? What exactly is the SO MUCH that he has put her through? As Karine would say...drama, drama, drama...

omg yes.  As I was watching it, I kept yelling at the television OH...MY...GOD...WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN THRU??????

Also the constant teasers all seemed to include "I'm getting married today and I'm freaking the fuck out!" Seriously, how many times did we hear that????

Her storyline is a drinking game in which no one lives.

So Tiffany is in her mid twenties with two small children she will likely be raising alone on a cosmetology career track. If she is officially done with Ronald and that “project” she and the kids may be okay, but I don’t think Ronald will ever straighten up and fly right.

A good cosmetologist can easily out earn a professional such as a claim adjuster.  Hell, if your a people person with business sense, you can get into six figures. I’m thinking about doing it and being my own boss.

Tiffany hasn't been through much love and loss at her age. Sure, she and Ronald have had a bunch of obstacles to overcome. She still chose to be with a man who is a newly recovering addict. A couple of years of struggling with him would make give her some reason to say that she has been through a lot.

Will she trust Ronald when he lies again, or goes to a casino, or the addictions return, or new addictions take their place? It's exhausting to live like that. Or just project stuff that will never happen. It's a day by day thing for both of them. One mistake by him? What about *her*? She should not put every expectation of her being happy on him. That's a lot for him to live up to, in addition to his own issues. Maybe it'll work out, maybe they will be codependent.

She's young, she's made some mistakes, she had a baby at a young age. That's about it.

This^^^^^^1000%.  What, exactly have you been through together?  You have not endured any trials and tribulations that make you better.  You got serious with a vacation f**k who had a felony record, a gambling addiction and is unemployed and will NEVER be admitted to the United States.  Any stress you are feeling is 100% caused by YOU and your worrying over things you can't change.  Just the fact that you are looking at a camera and saying "I don't know if I can trust him" should be reason #1 to NOT marry him.

I noticed her dad was wearing a wedding band yet came alone. Stepmamma drama?  Or was she was like, "You fly alone, I am not being a party to this shit show."

Yes he seems to love Daniel.  But you will never convince me you were unable to find a guy in freakin' MARYLAND that would happily step into that role.  Ever,

I have definitely seen many people in that field with talent and drive become monetarily successful. My post was to demonstrate that Tiffany is capable and supporting herself and her children (she has a career), even if she may not be wealthy at this second.

I'm tickled by this comment because I used to be a claims adjuster and I think almost anyone good at a creative calling could have out-earned me.

I think that being a cosmologist would be such fun of I was any good at makeup and I'm not.  There are so many things people can do with makeup.  So many looks, so many colors, so many options.  It all looks like fun.

Years ago I heard an expression, "The way to the cow is through the calf," and it always comes to my mind when Ronald would start professing how much he "loved" Daniel, a kid he'd never even met who was half a world away.  Yup, suck up to the kid to get on mom's good side and you're in!

He's an addict and has had years to perfect finding a means to his end.

I don't trust anything about a dude who sells his mother's household appliances when she's out of town.  What a douche.  And Tiffany is a douchette for taking her kid into this shit storm.

And for all her fuck and awe "I don't know if I can go through with the wedding," she wasn't fooling me.  Ronald couldn't have chased her off with pitchforks and torches in hand.

Poor Daniel.

Not defending Tiffany but got the impression that perhaps gambling was not his only obsession.  She’s mentioned being lied to, he doesn’t appear to be a stranger to hard drinking, maybe he wanted money from her, maybe he cheated on her.  She seems exasperated when she talks about their past and it seems to be about more than the Ronald Goes to Rehab/Ronnie Has a Record story line.

But I don’t think she knew about that before she went back to marry the bum young man.  But she knew enough to be concerned.  And then to close her eyes to it all.

Tiffany ran down a list of charges that Ronald had been nabbed for when she was talking to the immigration attorney.   However, she claimed he wasn't charged, and apparently didn't know about the LSD and heroin bust, of course Ronald claimed it wasn't his jacket.

I'm guessing Tiffany probably never looked into the issues with getting a work visa, even if you marry a SA citizen? After all, it's not as if she did any other research apparently.   I bet like many countries, jobs are for locals, and not spouses.

And she can forget getting Ronald in the U.S.     I bet half of the Immigration authorities here either watch this show, or hear about the big time criminal that thinks he's coming here.    I think Tiffany really thinks that one of these days the U.S. authorities will make a huge exception and let her husband inside this country, and I'm hoping she's wrong.   I think any chance of him coming here even on a short visitor visa are zero.

I don't get Tiffany, if you want to marry an addict, a felon, there are enough right in the USA.  Maybe Tiffany thinks it's "romantic" because Ronald is South African and not just some guy down the street.

A couple episodes ago, when Ronald made that remark to Daniel about human trafficking, I swear, my blood ran cold. It was so creepy. I just wanted to scoop that kid up and get him out of there. I felt the same way when Mae was in Morocco. As much as I don't want to think Azan would do anything like that (traffic her), you just never know. He always took a lot of interest in her and was so quick to be affectionate, barely paying attention to her mother. But I guess it would be pretty brazen of him to be involved in something like that and be on a TV show.

Okay, we all know of my full on rage for these two, especially Tiff.  I am going to make a prediction and wrap it in spoilers because even though we can spoil, I don't want to spoil in case I am actually right, and I swear 100% I did not searching on these two fools as I do NOT want their nasty energy on my laptop.

Spoiler

Tiffany and Daniel return to the USA for her to deliver the baby she was probably already pregnant with the night of her wedding.  She will couch it with "Daniel wanted to come home, Ronald could not find work so we are doing things long distance for now."  She has zero intentions of going back as she realized when Daniel would not stop crying over this shitshow that she made a terrible mistake but she will never EVER admit it.  Kinda like Nicole 2.0.  She will play the martyr game of how he not allowed into the US (He is a FELON!) and when things quiet down she will quietly divorce him and get Daniel into therapy.

I agree with you 100%.  Do these fools EVER learn?

Look, when I was 21, 22, 23 although I loved my parents, it was my dream to be out on my own, in my own little apartment or sharing with a roomie, then perhaps getting married and having a kid or two.  Unless there are really huge things going on (hubby/wife passes suddenly, hubby/wife is deployed, etc) who wants to live at home with mom and dad AND your own children?  I am not chapping on multi generational families.  When everyone is on board, it works.  What I am deep down saying is:  I took enough birth control that would make a whorehouse blush to ensure that when I had a baby, it was when we wanted a baby.

Deavan is another one. She has a three week fuck fest with someone she knows NOTHING about and now is disappointed that he may not be a great father. All she is looking for is someone to take the pressure of single parenthood off her. And surprise, surprise, surprise!!! He’s as unprepared for parenthood as she was and still is. No plans for where they’ll live or how “he” is going to support the 4 of them.

My guess is Feral child’s father has nothing to do with her if he allows her to go to S. Korea. And he probably isn’t contributing child support. Deavan’s mom looks like she can’t wait to get them all out of her house.

Even if you live in a relatively safe place you should probably lock your door.  But it would make it much easier for Ronald to stage a "break in" if they ever moved back to the US.

Ha ha, I have a friend who lived in the city.  She had her car broken into twice and decided just to take every single thing out of it.  I guess some guy got mad and broke into her car and peed in it out of spite.

After that she would just leave all her doors unlocked, leave a granola bar and some change in the center console with a note that said "feel free to take the money and the granola bars but please be nice to my car."

She never had another problem.

30 years ago, my best friend's family lived in the middle of nowhere, with farms and cows all around. She would leave her car in the driveway unlocked. I asked her if she was worried about it being stolen. She said what would happen, would  a cow take it? One morning she woke up and there were cows in the driveway. She called me and said "the cows are stealing my car!"

Foreigners in SA can't work unless a South African can't do the job. And the spouses of South Africans can't work easily unless they've been married for 5 years. So, unless Tiffany is self employed in a small business situation, i don't think she is planning to work in SA and I don't think she would be making a good amount of money as a make up artist.

I think Tiffany is rapidly moving up on my list of intensely-disliked 90DFers...when I read here she was knocked up, I thought "well, ok, it was probably unplanned, these things happen" but after the latest episode I now see that she 100% planned this.  I wonder if she thought Ronald would have a better chance of getting to the US if she portrayed him as husband and father (speaking of felons who can't come here, what's up with Rachel and Rage Boy? Did he ever come across the pond?) to the authorities - like when Nicole thought she would marry Azan in another country and then get him here.

She has this fantasy in her head of marrying the "hot guy" and living this fantasy life and all red flags be damned, full steam ahead - Daniel doesn't like SA? Tough, we're staying.

I also wonder what she's fed Daniel that he was so quick to call Ronald dad and talked about how he'd been "waiting" for "years" for those two idiots to get married.

Maybe, Tiffany, stress the f#ck out over your kid and his needs and not your own.

I think you're right.  To her Ronald is "hot" and because of that she's throwing caution to the wind.  Heck, if she wanted to do that, she could stay in the USA, lots of women do the same thing Tiffany is doing and don't need to leave the country to do it.

Jokes on Tiffany. Having a US citizen kid doesn't make it easier to move to the States it makes it more difficult. As the US government really cares that the foreigner can support themselves.

Having been through the green card process myself the required income of the US spouse or the sponsor increases with more children.  It’s something like 125% of the poverty level for a household of that size, so for a family of four it appears to be over $32k.

Well, she is a little much with the histrionics.  She never locks her door in the US....well then she is a dummy.

Also, she needs to piss or get off the pot.  Whining at Ronald may be satisfying but it's getting nothing done.

The situation is what it is.  Ronald is kind of unemployable.  His low paying job offer sounds vague and shaky.  At best he isn't going to make a lot of money.

The only way Ronald gets a better job is through networking and connections because he stole from his last employer so he isn't getting a reference.  And honestly, even if I were a family friend I'd have a hard time putting him in any position of trust.

Tiffany can't work right now and I really don't know how much she can earn as a makeup artist in SA.

The US probably is in no hurry to let Ronald into the country given that we aren't letting people in who are going through a lot worse.

That is her situation.  She needs to do something about it.

Canadians lock their doors. When I mow my lawn, I lock my garage door if I am mowing in the back yard. Anyone can walk by and steal something.

Tiffany maybe needs to see what reality really is. Planning a baby when you have no job, your husband is a recovering addict and possibly a felon and has few job prospects, and no place to live or anything? Ronald may have to face getting any kind of part time job to help out with the wellness centre one - even a janitor - to solve some of this problem.

Having been through the green card process myself the required income of the US spouse or the sponsor increases with more children.  It’s something like 125% of the poverty level for a household of that size, so for a family of four it appears to be over $32k.

$32K? That's nothing, Ronald can steal that in a week!

I’m not sure what world she lives in but it isn’t this one.  If there were actually such a place it would be too expensive for her to live there!

Frederick, Maryland. I would consider it an exurb of both Baltimore and DC, though some consider it a suburb, albeit a long commute with traffic. It used to be a pretty rural, "rednecky" area but as the close in suburbs hit their threshold for building and got increasingly expensive, more and more people moved out there. Like a lot of places, there is a mix of housing - from inexpensive to very expensive, custom-built mansions. Like a lot of places, there is some crime, but it's not generally thought of as "high crime" or particularly dangerous. I would lock my doors but I would do that wherever I live. I also lock my car but it was broken into a few weeks ago - on my driveway. Apparently there's a thing that thieves can use to remote into your car if your key is within a certain distance, even if the key is in the house (which mine was). There wasn't much of value in there but it irritated me.

I think it's pretty common, at least in the US, for rehabs to hire former addicts as entry level counselor types. It helps with their recovery and they have a perspective and ability to relate to the addicts that non-addicts don't have.

We are especially alert to our sliding glass door in the back, we have lots of trees and well, you know.

The first time I was robbed was an apartment that I lived in. Nice neighborhood but our door backed to a wooded area and the complex was full of professionals so there was no foot traffic during the day. The thieves basically body slammed the door (which turned out to be a relatively common foam-center door instead of a sturdier solid wood door) until the doorjam splintered. Not particularly elegant but very effective. As Ronald says "if they want to come in, they'll come in."

Growing up we lived in a very nice neighborhood in a very nice town. Our house backed up to a cornfield. We were robbed twice in 2 years while we were on vacation. The first time, they pried a door open and just stole some silver. They left the house spotless. You wouldn't have noticed anyone even broke in. The second time, they came through the basement. They left a mess looking for things, stole TVs, stereo, a rabbit coat I had and my dad's car which was in the driveway!

It turned out it was the son of the neighbors. He was a drug user and needed the money.
