Bob's Burgers - General Discussion

Bob's Burgers will be releasing an album of its songs, and announced its upcoming timeslot change with a song as well. They sure do like doing their musical bits, and I sure do like it when they do. My personal favorite is probably either "Electric Love" or the National's cover of Linda's Thanksgiving song.

Are there any songs that you find yourself humming, or perhaps belting out loud whenever you get into a car and fasten your seat belts?

I was coming in here to say that "Lifting Up The Skirt Of The Night" is hands down the best BB song. I don't remember really paying attention to the music in the show before that episode and I don't think they have topped it since. I wish they'd do more of that and less of the porn-music under the baritone's speaking the word of the subject-at-hand stuff they usually do.

I have rethought my answer. My new favorite song is "Buckle it up or you'll die," which I honestly believe says a lot about how the Belchers work as a plausible family unit.

With the Belcher kids all being crazy, and the Pesto kids all being crazy, sometimes it's nice to mix in someone who's so normal he's really boring.

That came out wrong. I think Regular Sized Rudy is great.

Nice to see Regular-Size Rudy again.  I liked how he punked the Belcher kids at the end about his chocolate allergy (and Louise was actually concerned about him... imagine that).

And this was the second ep in a row that had Bob and Linda throwing foodstuffs.  Hope this isn't the start of a trend.

Of all of the many things I love about Tina Belcher, I love how she runs. I could watch an entire episode of Bob's Burger's with just Tina Belcher running. It makes me laugh so much.

In an homage to the “Bronies” subculture, Tina attends her first Equestra-con, a convention based on her favorite animated pony show, “The Equestranauts.” To her surprise, she finds that the show’s fans are middle-aged men (called “Equesticles”). When a powerful super-fan tricks Tina out of her rare toy pony, it’s up to Bob to go undercover to get it back.

Do you know there is a Cancel Bob's Burgers Facebook page? What is WRONG with those people??

This one? ...weird.

I did have a conversation with an acquaintance who brought up that she hated Bob's Burgers and all people who liked it. It turned out that she had only seen the pilot, but it still kind of shook my faith in my extended social network's ability to have reasonable taste in things.

I loved that Teddy, out of all of them, was the one who knew what was up with the Equesticles.  Just when you think he's gonna zig, he zags!

Teddy's into a bunch of weird stuff. He's the best.

(Has Mort done anything in like a season and a half?)

Yep Teddy's a dark horse and despite his mundane appearance I think he'd have a lot of fascinating stories to tell.

A cancel Bob's Burgers group? Ha! I don't do that twitface stuff but 53 'likes' sounds quite pathetic. I saw some people on twop expressing displeasure at the Napoleon Dynamite toon (which I quite enjoyed) being replaced by BB but to hold a grudge against what is one of the least offensive shows on TV is kinda odd.

Anyway this episode told a good story and the lack of a B-plot was not an issue. I particularly liked Gene's helpful comments throughout especially "Take your cyanide capsule!"

The convention thing was done well, the $95 saddles (hand stitched!) was spot on and Tina's comment of feeling out of place because "I don't have enough money and I'm not a grown man" was gold!

And finally I almost spat my drink out when it was revealed what was so special about Tina's pony - to which she remained blisfully unaware!

"He was gonna use that money to go straight – he was gonna open a straight bar!"

"Seagulls: SWARM ATTACK!"

Didn't love the B-plot with the bathroom, but a really solid A-plot here.

Good episode.  Loved Tina's plan to throw it into the ocean, with Louise and the two guys saying "oh no, please don't" while taking off shoes and preparing to go swimming.

But now I wonder: as it is illegal to possess or trade ambergris in the US, what can you do with it if you actually find some on a beach?

I liked that Linda basically said, "Yes, Bob, my side of the family is nuts. Now, move on."

And then she laughed maniacally just like Louise.  That made me howl with laughter (I fully acknowledge I bring the crazy with my family).

Tina decides to try out for the cheerleading squad, but it’s actually Gene who gets noticed in the crowd for his spirit and cheering ability. Meanwhile, during her cheer audition, Tina falls and bites her tongue, leaving her unable to speak – and a mischievous Louise steps up to be her translator.
