I felt for Nadine last week and also felt for her at the start of this week when she was stuck cleaning the kitchen, but I lost all sympathy for her completely over how she treated her model, and the way she couldn't accept criticism at all. She is the type of person who probably treats service personnel dismissively when she's not complaining about something. I bet she's a bad tipper too. I was so pleased when Brandon Maxwell immediately put an end to that bullshit and defended her model. Honestly, I think her attitude is what sent her home this week moreso than the design, but they can't give that as a reason. I think Rakan's was the worst, and his track record is very unimpressive so far. He picked a terrible print, and he didn't listen to any of Christian's advice at all.

I'm kind of at a loss as to why Hester deserved to be in the Top 3, let alone be the winner. I didn't like her print at all, and up close the construction didn't look all that great either. whatever. The garter belt was a fun idea, but that's the only element of her look I liked at all. Maybe I just need to look at the safe outfits again, because I know I like a few of them more than Hester's look, but maybe there was something wrong with them.

Next week looks so fun! I haven't watched Project Runway in years, and I almost completely forgot about the unconventional materials challenges.

So far Sebastian looks on track to win. No one is even coming close to his skill level. It will be interesting to see if/how he'll falter.

I wasn't happy with Nadine's overall attitude, maybe she was just overtired and missing her kids?  That does not excuse her being insulting and dismissive about her model.  Even without the attitude, I still thought her look was one of the worst and deserved to be in the bottom.

Sebastian's look was amazing, and so well done - I think he should have won.  As mentioned upthread, Hester's was just too picnic tablecloth for me, or maybe a cliche old-school Italian restaurant.  The design was cute, but very, very young.  More editorial for a teen or tween magazine than a high-fashion magazine, imo.  I'll be curious to see if Hester can move past her quirkiness to be able to create more mainstream garments.

Also, I've heard enough of the sob stories.  I get it, and I can empathize, but I don't want to hear it on the runway.  To me, it sounds like the designer is pandering to the judges for a sympathy vote.

It's amazing to me that these designers created the garments they did with a one day challenge.  Finishes were nicely done, print matches were well placed (with the exception of Garo's - that was kind of hideous - it reminded me of a prison uniform), hems were even and in place.  All of the things that fell to the wayside when PR was on Lifetime.  I'm trying to figure out what the difference is.

I missed most of the show because I didn't realize it started at 7 p.m. central.  (Note to self.).   Loved Sebastian's look.  Hester's made me think of Little Red Riding Hood and Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, plus she herself was dressed in a similar color theme.  Just too cutesy to me.

Since I didn't see the show from the beginning, I wasn't sure what the backstory may have been about Nadine.   Haven't other contestants in the past commented about a model that was not rail thin?

I thought Nadine was rude and inappropriate and her outfit was hideous. While her model is gorgeous, she is a terrible walker. I noticed it in E1. She's definitely more for print than runway. That being said, the problem wasn't that the model was a bad walker. The problem was that Nadine's gauchos tucked into boots design was ugly. The back was poorly constructed. The print didn't sing.

Ok, let’s be honest, the reason high fashion has always used tall skinny women is that the clothes look better.  They hang better, and the flatter chests make clothes look more expensive.   Nadine’s model did suck and it was a disadvantage.  But her outfit sucked anyway.

What was so despicable about all designers in the past and and even today is they didn’t make the clothes in sizes higher than size 12 as if women over that size didn’t exist.

Adam Selman uses super skinny models so he shouldn’t comment.

Very impressed with most of the looks.

Adam Selman shouldn't comment on something looking dated with that mustache. If that can make a comeback (which I hate), he can't say other things aren't allowed to come back. Not that I liked the look, personally. Just thought he was one to talk.

I mostly agreed with the judging tonight, though I would have picked Sebastian for the winner. Hester's outfit was "fun" but I didn't think it was that amazing. She was all about that picnic.

I agreed with the bottom looks and was glad they sent Nadine home. I wondered if they were going to end up sending the guy home and then have Nadine volunteer to go instead... but just sending her was easier.

Some of the "safe" looks were actually pretty cool, it would have been nice to get a closer look at them. It was overall, a fun challenge.

Watching All Stars just before watching this one, this show is just so much more positive. Even with Nadine being super grumpy, there wasn't as much bitching about other people's outfits or stealing sewing machines or whatever. The designers are competing but still supportive of each other and helping each other. It's nice.

I'm actually looking forward to the unconventional challenge next week, I always like that one, and this one looks to be a full on adventure.

I'm in the minority here - I loved Hester's look. I thought it was cute and fresh (though I haven't cared much for her). I've been pleasantly surprised so far this season with the judging. Sebastian's was awesome too. He's an amazing designer. I think Hester might be a one and done. We'll see. Glad to say bye girl to nasty Nadine. Sour grapes much?

Adam’s mustache looks like something out of a 1970’s porn movie.

Pornstache? Lol

That was a great runway!  I liked almost everything, even Hester's.  So far I don't think she's come off all that likable, but everyone else seems to like her so she must be better in person.  And there's something there that the judges appreciate.  Still, I wish Sebastien had won.  His work is incredible and he's such a gracious person.  I'm also glad Kovid was in the top - like the judges, I didn't realize he added 3-D elements to his look.  His positive attitude is wonderful as well.

Overall Nadine seems like a decent person but her throwing her model under the bus was not a good look.  It was petty, unnecessary, and just downright fucking rude.

I'm so happy PR is back on Bravo.  Karlie, Elaine, Brandon and Christian are great additions/replacements.

I thought Nadine’s really worked on her model.  I was surprised they didn’t like it. Much harder to design and really compliment a curvy model.  She wasn’t likeable but her design ok to me.   I’m larger and I’d wear it. So light and airy.  Hester definitely not for all.  Looked like designed for Barbie doll.

The designers this season are talented, but am I the only one who feels like their designs so far lack joy? I don't know how to explain it. All the clothes just feel drab and geometrical--like they are trying too hard to be cutting edge? I miss the contestants of prior seasons whose fashions felt more joyful and prettier, like those of Uli, Laura, etc.

What I do not get is that none of their designs/fabric seemed to meet the challenge.  Hester’s closest.  Wild colorful prints totally missing.  Odd runway to me.   Such drab fabric choices

I agree the designers are becoming gimmicky to look cutting edge.

I agree and I think this is why they gave the win to Hester.

I will be curious to see if this season, any design modeled by a larger model wins. And that’s because I think Nina has a bias and/or a certain way she thinks larger women should dress.  But I hope I’m wrong.

Hester is draining. I do appreciate her quirky style. I’m sure there’s another side to her fashion school story. Maybe I’m sheltered but I’ve never heard of someone being kicked out of school just for being extra. That said her outfit was fun. I could see her crappy hems but I liked the idea.

Sebastian is amazing. And I’m glad he’s also able to talk about his experience in the US.

loved all the camo this episode! Bring it!

I think Nadine’s design would have been more successful if she had ditched the ugly pants and made the outfit a floaty dress. I thought her stalking off at the end came across as very unprofessional. She should have stayed and said something about realizing this process wasn’t for her and then thanked everyone for the opportunity.

I was hoping Bishme’s “Spain” dress would have been one of the top looks. Hester’s look was very quirky and juvenile, but I can appreciate that it had the strong editorial feel and over the top print that the judges seemed to want. I think she’s going to have a harder time in future challenges though. I also loved Sebastian’s elegant look. I would have been happy if he had won for a second week in a row.

Yikes, Nadine!!! There's something to be said about discretion. Even if she discovered that this show/process didn't work for her to be so rude is not going to earn her many new clients in the real world especially since we haven't seen any exceptional designs that will justify putting up with that attitude.  She reminds me of the British designer from Season 1 who complained that the show was not what she imagined it would be. I can imagine that while she is used to designing for fuller bodied women maybe the model's height threw her off but Nadine didn't like her model from the beginning and had transferred all of her frustration to her.

Sebastian's story made his loss even more unfair.  The man is willing to clean houses for his work.  What has Becky sacrificed?  She's still whining about being thrown out of fashion school.

I’m sure this is obvious but it seems like this was a good time to give the win to someone else....at this point it looks like Sebastian might kill in every challenge.  Can’t wait to see what his Achilles might be.

Hester is good TV and her anxiety and hand wringing is what she is there for along with Kovid.  They will be running around on every challenge in tears if for some reason the whole thing doesn’t spark joy for them.   Maybe they can all Kondo out themselves together LOL

How could the judges look at Hester's design and not see a costume?

I agree. I know that they wanted editorial, but I saw costumey. I get the picnic reference, and I definitely see it, but when I first saw it, I saw candy striper with the garter making it candy striper in a soft core porno. (I feel awful, but I couldn't unsee it.)

I'm also not sure how the one guy's design was inappropriate - a little gauche maybe, yes - while that really short skirt (was it a skirt or a skort?) with Betty Boop garter wasn't. For me, it was somehow juvenile and inappropriate at the same time. I thought that Sebastian should have won, also.

Oh, well, I guess two weeks in a row when I agreed with the judges was too good to last, though I guess I can be optimistic that this was an anomaly and I'll agree with them again next week.

But heh, not sure I can handle too much more of Hester, and I don't even know why. I don't usually have that kind of reaction to most people.*** I even tolerated Vincent, and he was annoying and somewhat gross (with everything "turning him on," yeesh). But I see Hester in her affected outfits and I want to yell at the screen, though I guess it is kind of fun - even if I do feel kinda guilty about it afterwards. She reminds me of a cross between Olive Oil and Waldo from "Where's Waldo" ...two things that I don't think go together. And I feel a little bad abut thinking that, but I guess not too bad, because apparently she likes being quirky, so there you go...

Hester has immunity next week, and so is likely to either make something completely insane (which could be potentially entertaining in a train wreck sort of way) or choke and make something totally boring.

Somehow I think we're going to be stuck with her for a while, though.

*** There are a few people on television though who I have this same kind of reaction to, and weirdly there usually isn't a rhyme or reason for it. Sophia Vergera is one of those people for example. For some reason she inspires anger in me.

I wanted to crop, edit and BOLD Sophia Vergera but my iPad is hating me right now...but soooooo this.  I thought I was the only one.  That accent reads shrill to me and I can feel my nerves start to rattle.
