I'm going to speculate on the Heather situation - I don't know what their contract states, but they have direct experience dealing with private information leaking when it shouldn't, and I imagine they're tailored and specific in their contract about it.  Owning up to the risk is what saved Heather, IMO, and she was strong enough of a team member, dancer and ambassador that they chose to keep her on the squad but out of the limelight, so to speak.  The risk today of leaked photos/videos/private anything is as strong as it's ever been, and social media is even more prevalent than it was several years ago when the big celebrity hacking scandal happened.

I get if it’s an infraction in the contract. Ultimately no one forces them to sign those contracts, but I still have an issue with the “you can stay on the team for now, but if it leaks (even though you have no control over that at this point), you’re gone.” That is what was suggested on the boards - that they removed her from leadership positions because they would’ve cut her if it became public, and it would’ve been easier to cut her if she wasn’t a group leader. That just seems cheap to me, and to the extent that it did come to pass, would’ve made them look worse if there was some huge public fallout (which I doubt there would’ve been honestly; she’s a NFL cheerleader, not Meghan Markle, and those sort of leaked pics don’t have the same novelty that they once had, since its happened to so many people and because revenge porn is now widely recognized as being a crime). I don’t know, that would be like having knowledge that there is a video of a cheerleader making racial slurs, but only cutting her when it becomes public. That’s problematic, to say the least.

Now, if removing her from leadership positions was the punishment for a contract violation, and it had no relation to any possible publicity of the pictures, that’s different. I still think that’s a slippery slope to be standing on, but I have less of an issue with that.

Ok where to start?

Brooke would be way too thick now and did become sort of mean girl but not really a crazy partier. Mean as in she was favored and she knew it, and could be a snot about her vet show group status like a lot of them.

Paige - they knew. They turned a blind eye prob because they were serious and actually headed toward marriage.

Holly and Jenna and Erica and Cersten and to an extent Keyra all got too big for their britches.

Erica got lazy and thought she could do no wrong. Also a little bit bitter bc she was being passed for point when I think she or Jenna could’ve been fine. Actually like Erica better for it. Cersten is a good low key instigator who is good at influencing other people while she sits back with the popcorn. I think Keyra become her and others mouthpiece and her lack of being able to stfu plus weight got her cut. Her dancing was fine.
Now to more rehashing of Holly and Jenna. That whole group fed off competing each other and encouraging each other to push boundaries. That’s good for dance but bad if you’re too dumbass to follow the contract you signed.
Jenna has never been sheltered or naive. She is as savvy as Holly in promoting herself and very confident. She just looks super young. Holly is more cutthroat but those two together were bad news.
Both were hooking up, neither in a real relationship, but somehow Jenna got a pass at being so young and snowed but Holly is a skank. Yeah no. Holly just dances more like a sexpot but prob actually more sheltered than Jenna at the time. They both did bad and they both knew it and they both liked getting away with it more than it. Holly just had a lot more family support and a IDGAF attitude while Jenna was so terrified to not be associated with DCC she caved.
I think Holly has better technique but Jenna had a more versatile look bc she could book anything from Disney to tours to tv, while Holly always came off as sexpot. I also think they knew Holly lies straight to them and would keep doing it while Jenna fake puppy dog cried but then did get scared. I would’ve cut them both too. Losing Erica at the same time helped Jenna stay.

Now even with Jenna repenting and doing better what irked me was her calling it all a punishment like a damn child and not a professional JOB. Reprimand, demotion, ok, but punishment sounded like someone too into themself and too immature for leadership after six damn years.

Ok now Heather vs Holly A. Holly A had pics for her husband hacked. They were all told over and over after that to not even have those pics and risk it. Heather made a Dumbass choice to still have nude pics and then turn herself in, and the consequences were not in her favor. Lesson learned. Life is not fair but they all know the rules they volunteered to follow.

Paige also broke the rules about fraternization, but she was extremely discreet.  For all I know, TPTB might have known it was happening, told them to stay quiet about it but if it leaked, they would have to release her.  I think it depends on the maturity of the cheerleader, the infraction and how the cheerleader handles it.

Jenna casually dating Dak (or whatever their situation was) is one thing in private, but Holly hooking up with Zeke, going to clubs in Uptown where there are four million cell phone cameras and paparazzi?  So completely idiotic I can't even wrap my head around it.  Zeke was getting A LOT of negative attention for his antics back then.  I wonder if that's editing magic - Kelli might have said "OMG Jenna, there are cameras everywhere, you know Holly is out there flaunting this rule breaking and drinking as a minor, and do you just let your friend jump in front of a car???"  (Or whatever it was she had said.)  And of course editing would just tell us the snip.

Who knows, really, but these are real people in real situations with cameras and editing.  So I guess the editor knows best 🙂

Can someone please explain to me, on Paige's rookie season she went right from her wedding to training camp. How did she end up dating a player while she was a cheerleader, against all the rules, and then end up marrying him? What happened to her first husband??? No judgement just looking for any insight...

And therein lies Exhibit 55 for why K&J have no credibility. So fraternization is cool if it’s a serious relationship? Pretty much every relationship goes through phases, so basically, you just need to not get caught when you’re in the early, casual phase, I guess. Now, I get why the state of the relationship makes a difference from the cheerleader’s perspective - you may be more willing to continue with a relationship and risk getting caught if you think the relationship is going somewhere, as opposed to a casual fling. That makes sense, but it should make no difference from the director’s perspective though.

For me personally, I have always liked Brooke. She’s always seemed really nice and she’s friends with a ton of girls she cheered with. She just made her IG public: brookenix12 in case anyone wants to follow her. Overall, she’s one of my favorites! ❤️

She's one of my favorites too. I think her IG might be public because she's longer associated  with the Dolphins cheerleaders. She had it private during that lawsuit with the former cheerleader.

I liked her also.  Always had a big smile.  Except when Kelli made her cry her first year as a TCC.

The first rule of having a public profile....DON'T TAKE NUDIE PICTURES WITH YOUR PHONE....if you must do nudes for your sweetie, use a camera with a timer...then have all the fun you want...as long as you know you can trust whomever it is you are sharing them. Then decide if it's worth the risk at all to take them....be smart about it.

I think "Ika" was very young the year she tried out...with a serious lack of maturity and worldliness. IIRC she'd led a very sheltered life with her parents and just recently moved on from that life. To me she had sort of a 'girls gone wild' vibe. Her current portfolio shows a mature, very beautiful young woman in total charge of her life...

I liked Brooke Sorensen...she always appeared a bit heavier than ideal and has a short neck...which makes you look heavier than you are.

I could be mistaken and would be glad for someone to correct me.  It was after she left the office with the camera man filming her.  Perhaps crying is too strong a term but there were tears.  It was her first time in TC.  She genuinely was concerned and worked very hard to make the team.

If I am remembering it correctly, I don’t think she started dating Jeff Heath until her third season. Her first marriage did not last long, as I recall.  She and Jeff did not go out in public and kept it quiet. When the season was over, Paige told K&J then resigned. Jeff Heath was not like a Dak or a Zeke, a headline grabber. So that was one thing in her favor. They didn’t flaunt it, either. I believe they lived together a while before getting married but by then she was no longer a DCC. He kept playing with no consequences (no surprise there) but is now with the Raiders. That’s how I remember it, others may know more. Some think Danielle knew it was happening, but didn’t speak up.

You would think that a cheerleader breaking the rules would not have a roommate, but would be living alone so as not to get caught. That makes me think that a lit of the girls are seeing players and getting away with it. I am glad Holly got caught and left the team because she was too full of herself for her own good, and to me she always came off as dirty, but I doubt that she was an isolated incident.

Danielle WAS Paige's room mate at the time and Danielle was a fave with Kelli and Charlotte, so that kind of worked in Paige's favor a little. But the difference between Paige/Jeff and Jenna/Holly/Dak and whoever else those two was "hanging out with" Cowboys wise.

Paige did not FLAUNT publicly during her DCC tenure nether did she go out in public with Jeff during her DCC time which was probably why it wasn't a massive public (eg fan) knowledge. I mean how many of us (fans) knew about that relationship during Paige's tenure compared to Jenna and Holly? DCC may have known about all 3 and their doings but in DCC world its a massive no no but we all know how Kelli hates it if you do things and makes it public (eg fan) knowledge whilst you are trying for DCC or being a DCC. Look at Ika and her public drinking shots photos and then look at Chelsea Chaney. She was drinking but Kelli didn't know about it did she? Not until Chelsea admitted it in office because she gained weight and Kelli assumed it was the food she was eating eg too much carbs etc

How far into training camp did Dayton Bramhall get cut? Watching that season right now.

I think she didn't make it much past uniform fittings so maybe halfway through?  The excuse(s) Kelli used to cut her were ridiculous.  I get that Dayton may have had issues with memory and/or dance but those were likely brought on by being under heightened scrutiny by Kelli and knowing that ANY little mistake would get her cut.  Granted, that applies to practically any girl in Training Camp, but it was worse for Dayton because this was Victoria's first time through Training Camp as well and Kelli was using any reason she could to keep Victoria there while trying to shove Dayton out the door.

Between Dayton and VK's first try. I'd have kept Dayton till when VK was cut and cut VK when Dayton was cut. Why? VK gained weight, danced in other peoples space esp during their first try. I mean come on Malena lasted a little longer with her memory (but we know that was because it was for "entertainment") but Dayton danced better than VK. Nether of them was "powerful" dancers but Dayton was better dancer than VK. But we all know VK got where she was because Tina practically "forced" Kelli to give VK a spot. O.o PRESSURE!!!!!

Tina didn’t have to force anything. Kelli wanted VK there so bad herself she couldn’t stand it.

I really think Malena was wanted on the team, too. They gave her SO MANY chances. Where I think they possibly did her dirty was not being more clear how at risk she was, and strongly discouraging her from quitting her job at SMU.  I know it’s not their job and the dancers make their own choices, but still. They’ve given better clarity about their chances and making big life choices to stay on the team in the past.

IE...iirc they were fairly blunt about Shelby when she was talking about quitting her job and living off her savings. And with Courtney, they were dismayed bc she had such a great career job, but offered job assistance quickly for her. Danielle as well, tho Danielle’s job search was more in line with what I would think the DCC could easily help with (teaching dance.)

Tho of course now that I say this, the DCC has a hand in nursing fields too, as we saw with Jackie Bob and Colin. That network runs deep if TPTB are motivated.

Am I remembering correctly? I think Dayton was the one who said she hadn't voted during the interview and said she was 18 and Kelli was just horrified by this. I think from that moment on Dayton had a target on her back and Kelli was just looking for a reason to get rid of her. I remember Kelli's reaction being rather OTT. I know she likes to think her DCCs are all politically active, football geniuses with great careers, the perfect bodies and big bright smiles...oh, and it would be cool if they could dance, but I didn't find it terrible that an 18 year old wasn't ready to vote yet. I didn't vote the moment I turned 18. I didn't even register right away. I also know very little about football, have a job not a career and am about the size of the "fat" girls on the team. Kelli would hate me! And I certainly can't kick to my nose, but that is only important if Kelli already doesn't want you on the team and can't find another reason to cut you.

Thank you. I have the hardest time keeping seasons straight. I watch almost daily on Pluto but miss huge chunks of seasons while sleeping and "at work" (I am currently working at home but try not to watch tele while on the clock), so all the seasons kind of blur together.

Episode 303:   When Cassie was talking about learning the jump split and saying how much it "hurt".  There's no reason whatsoever for her not to have had that jump split down from the start if she'd grown up around DCC.

Erica's office visit:  Dunno about y'all but I didn't get "pissed off" from her.  She looked "upset" but I wouldn't call it "pissed off".  I think Kelli was trying to bait her into saying something that'd get her cut.

I always thought that office visit was edited all to hell because Erica is crying (tears running down her cheeks) as Kelly has told her she needs to lose weight. Kelly asks why she's crying and Erica's like "I'm upset that no one like my solo." Then Kelly starts talking about her attitude, which I hadn't seen her answer back at all. Yes, Erica had a talking head after the veteran meeting where she defended her solo (which we didn't really get to see), but I can understand that reaction and it was just to camera after crying in the bathroom.

Erica had gotten dressed down in front of all of the veterans before practice and then again in Kelly's office, both times Erica is crying, not "pissed off." I don't know what other reaction Kelly was looking for. If there was something that happened during practice that night, you think the cameras would have shown us as part of the Erica's "pissed off" narrative Kelly was trying to spin. I never saw it. I also thought Erica was a great dancer, so I was mad at Kelly for yelling at her twice about the same thing. It's not like she could have lost weight in five hours.

I follow Erica on IG. She posted (on her IG story) a video of her dancing 5 years ago. Wow! She is an amazing dancer. And, if you look at her today, she is so tiny. She has the perfect little figure. So, it’s hard for me to picture her ‘heavy’ and presenting a poor solo. It always makes me sad when they are on her about her weight and her ‘poor’ solo....have often wondered if that is why she didn’t come back the following year. I’ve seen her perform while on show group...great dancer....it is their loss that she didn’t come back for a third season!

She seems to be living in Munich, a large and beautiful city in Bavaria with a bunch of biotech companies that would suit her field of studies. From what I gather she works in that field currently. Good on her, that's a field that helps so many people and one of the most progressive biotech environments in the world.

And yes, regions and borders here have opened somewhat due to the current low numbers of infections and mass testing. I'm across the border in the Netherlands and we can now cautiously travel across most of Europe. A lot of people choose to stay closer to home for the summer though, me included! Although I might hop across the border to Germany since that's closer than the nearest Dutch town 😄

Right? Every time I see that scene I'm like "but your mother is the team choreographer, wouldn't she have at least mentioned that you should practice the freaking one thing the team is most known for?" Of course, I also wonder, when any of them say they are scared because they've never done the jump split why they haven't ever tried it at home. I know they don't have anyone to do it with but it is something they can practice on their own and if I were trying out for a team where the jump split is done every single performance I'd be sure I could do it before I got there. Of course I'd also be sure I could do a good kick and a proper split and I'd probably take some dance classes. It always astonishes me when some of them admit to having very little dance training.

That's why I feel like a lot of them try to make the team just to be on the show to get exposure to launch their social media careers. Because if you are serious about making the actual team you do the pre-training work, classes, limber up, get in shape.

I forget who it was but one girl who didn't make it through finals I think, interviewed that she should have taken some dance classes before trying out and I was all "wow, how dumb are some of these girls?" because if you're going to a dance tryout (and lets face it, this is more a dance try out than a "cheer" try out) you should maybe know how to dance properly.

Not the same girl, but I remember when Karissa was cut from season 6 (?), they kept her till the very end to try to give her time to get up to their level of dance, but she could never get there. And in her exit interview in the locker room, she said something like, "the only thing keeping me from making this team was taking dance classes." And I was like, yeah, why wouldn't you have taken dance classes before trying out for a DANCE team? I mean, I really liked her and I'm glad she's a lawyer in my neck of the woods now, but that was such an odd response to getting cut.

Quoting you for context - I think this is the real beef that Kelli had with Dayton. Because her mother is the assistant choreographer, I think Kelli had the expectation that DB would perform better in training camp given that she's been around DCC her whole life and she expected DB to have better command of the dances from working with her mother. I know SB said DB had to do it on her own without extra help and that's great, but Kelli had a different, likely unspoken, expectation and held DB to a different standard. That certainly isn't fair, but that's what I think happened.

While I don’t think Dayton should’ve made the team, I thought that Kelli’s somewhat hostile attitude towards her was due to the VK situation. I think she may have thought that by being hard on one legacy whose mom worked for the Cowboys, then that would shield her from criticism about favoring VK, who was also a legacy, and make her look fair. The problem was that VK should’ve been dismissed around the same time as Dayton due to the weight gain and her other struggles. Kelli allowed her to flail around for so long when anyone else would’ve been cut, that it was obvious that the level of favoritism shown towards her was extreme.

The girl was Karissa from Season 6. She said "I would be on this team if I had taken dance classes". I still don't think she would have made the team, but who knows.

I personally think that while Erica was upset about what happened with the vets meeting and the subsequent office visit later, I think Erica was also upset that her best friend, Michelle Mozak had been cut. She seemed pretty devastated by it when they were showing them after TC had been announced. They seem pretty close.
