Its because the Duggars are fundamentalist Christians which means they steal all their traditions from Jews. In this case that would be the 'wedding chuppah'. You will also notice Robynnnnn wearing a Jewish star in her interviews. The Duggars do that as well.

I can't with Christine telling her daughter that if she didn't like living there she didn't have to stay for more than 3 years anyway.  I'm not for coddling kids but that seemed kind of harsh.

What kind of rock has Robyn lived under that Janelle had to tell her what "tea totaler" means?  Honestly, she's as dumb as a box of rocks.

Fat Tony is really living up to his nickname these days.  I knew he and Mykelti were going to continue to explode.  The camera focused in on him just standing around stuffing his face.

So Meri has to catch shit for not acting like head cheerleader about the ridiculous move while the rest of them forget about anything practical and dance around like Kody's little pep squad?  After most of them weren't really on board with it?  What kind of Kool-Aid did he give them to make them abandon any sense they had left for his ridiculous scheme?  Then HE's the one with the "buyer's remorse"?  This seems like a huge risk to take with a lot of reasons for financial and other failure and deep down he knows it.  They didn't take HALF that risk when moving to LV.  I think Kodufus is getting too big for his britches.  Both locations looked like they were out in the middle of nowhere and would need a ton of money to develop.  It feels like it's going to turn into that Carey Grant movie where Mr. Blandings builds his dream house, or "The Money Pit".  These idiots have no idea what they're getting into.  This new area is not as cheap or build-ready as where they've been before.  Plus they are gullible and naive to believe a realtor about just about ANYTHING.  They should have been following the LV market on their own to know how fast the comps. were selling in that area. 

These idiots have succeeded thus far in spite of themselves but I think they may have used up their luck.  I'm sure they'll spin everything like it's much more successful than it really is, but it's obvious that they will soon realize that it's not going to work out nearly as well as they thought it would, nor would it be worth it in the long run.  Kody is already 50 and the rest of them are right behind him.  Big upheavals on their grand scale become even more stressful and physically exhausting as we get older.  I don't think they even realize how they are biting off more than they can chew.  Well, maybe Kody did when he was having his "second thoughts" but he's not going to listen to his better sense, unfortunately.

I want to slap the snot out of Kody. He gets what he wants and then he pouts and says things like “I should feel grateful but I guess I’m just pissed at the responsibility.” I wouldn’t be surprised to see this crew end up on “Snapped” one day. And no jury who had seen this episode would convict. 

And he wanted to sit and FORMULATE about it all while everyone else was trying to prepare for the shower. Loved when they called him crazy and walked out.

My son is ADD and someone once described his impulsiveness as “ready, fire, aim,” and that’s Kody to a T.  

Guaranteed the wives will do virtually all the work involved in this move while Kody pontificates and says “I” or “me” or “my” every other word.

Like everything else with this move so far, he's going to end up having to throw more money at it to solve the problem or else it's going to be an even bigger fiasco than last time, with more problems and setbacks. He mentioned that they have more stuff now than ever, probably even more than he was able to anticipate when making that comment.  Going through all that is going to be a nightmare all by itself, especially because the adults are getting older and won't be as up to handling that amount of stuff by themselves in the time they will have.  A few U-Hauls, some kids and do-it-yourself sweat is not going to cut it.

I'm not wanting to be mean here, but I think the real reason Jenelle wanted to pull back and have a private convo with the realtor was so she could stop walking uphill for a minute and catch her breath.  Unless she generally is that impulsive that she'd be seriously discussing putting money down,  5 min after getting out of the car, and before even getting to what they were supposed to be looking at.  And then to go from that, to wanting the other place right away?  Seems fishy.  I dont know because I havent watched this show regularly at all.  Is this typical of her? Or was she just looking for an excuse to catch her breath?

I found it odd that Grody had a picture of the realtor on his phone. How many Shelbi’s does he know from Flagstaff? 

Grody got tearful talking about not seeing his kids everyday when they move to Flagstaff but forgot that  it was Aspyn’s bridal shower. He lights up around Sol and Ari, but treats his other kids like an after thought. 

I like Gwen. She’s smart, and calls it like it is. Christine was a jerk to tell Gwendolyn that she can move away in three years when she’s done high school.  Yeah, a real nurturing moment towards a kid that is having to give up major opportunities on the whim of a madman, and his concubines. 

 Kody compared  his move to Arizona as like being a soldier preparing to go to war. Yes. He used those words people. I’d like to ship his useless ass out to a war zone, and get him to see what true strength, and determination, and courage is. What an asshole. 

They all make decisions based on feelings. That is a poor way to operate   when  it comes to financial affairs. ‘Angels were singing... do you feel it in your gut...let’s pray about Coyote Pass’”...  these statements were are all based on feelings and not logic. They are placing  all their available money for this land, and making a big move based on what is not being said... Day’un going to college there. And now they’re agreeing to pay to put utilities in themselves. .oh wow, the Flagstaff sellers were probably grinning at these suckers.

Where do the Brown family  grifters keep this endless money tree? I wonder how they manage  to get approved for loans when they have four homes mortgaged to the hilt in Vegas, and Meri just bought an additional home in Utah. That’s a lot of Lularoe to sell. They could have rented  homes until they sold the Vegas cult compound, and then looked for property. They made it seem like Coyote Pass was the ONLY property  in Flagstaff for them. 

 I had a moment of feeling bad for Meri when the rest of them were going after her for not being thrilled about Coyote Pass. Was she suppose to do cartwheels? Maybe she needs some of Christine’s happy pills to do that. “But it’s got TREES, Meri! Did ya see that view? I can’t wait to dig in the prairie dog plague-infested soil, and make a veggie garden!”

I kinda of love that Meri called out Robyn as the legally married wife, and that her opinion didn’t matter so much anymore. Witchy chin was not amused. 😁😂.   

Put me on the list for not liking Robyn. She’s a sneaky snake.

Robyn is the reason why this show went beyond the drawing board. The addition of a 4th wife in real-time brought the drah-ma because otherwise they were just a collection of sad sacks. So we have to give her credit for that. 

I think I could like her more if not for Kody's obvious infatuation with her and favoritism toward her kids. She has never blended, she has always been oil floating on water - which can fairly be blamed mostly on Kody - and I remain unconvinced that this has ever bothered her or even occured to her on more than a superficial level. 

I thought about this tonight when she said (paraphrasing) that any moves beyond this one are not something she is up for. Ahem.

Given that, I would very much enjoy observing her reaction if Kody went a courtin' with #5. Be still, my heart.

good point!  No, actually it was very atypical of her.  Usually she is not enthusiastic about anything and quite lethargic.  So I think you may be onto something!

But Meri didn't finish out her thought. I wanted so badly for her to say it doesn't matter what I want or think of this. Robyn wants Coyote Pass and what Robyn wants she gets. Done. That is one ugly property. My prediction is that they will never build on it. It will either be sold or go into foreclosure. The cost of bringing utilities. water, sewerage lines, electricity and maybe gas will be prohibitive.

Someone posted in the previous episode's thread about thinking something may have happened romantically between Kootie & Meri when they stayed in Flagstaff. I think they may be right. My reasons for saying this:

• In the footage of them visiting Flagstaff, she was trying to get him to say he loved her, etc. when with the way things have been between them since the catfishing stuff, seemed bold of her - as in maybe something encouraged her - making her think they were going to be okay.
• In this episode, I heard another sound bite - might have been one from their visit as well but it was aired this week, not last - He asked her if she was cold and she said she just wanted to be near him.  I think they dubbed something in last week.
• And okay, call me weird, but in a few instances in this episode, where they were talking about Cottonwood, I feel like some of the faces Kootie was making at Meri were sincere "I'm sorry" empathetic looks - like he agreed with her about liking Cottonwood better but the consensus was Coyote Pass. 

Overall, I just thought he seemed like he actually cared about her feelings. And I haven't thought that in a very long time until now.

I only watched a few minutes and have the rest on the DVR. But when they were standing out on "land" and disagreeing about which property is better, it reminded me of every extended family vacation I have ever taken, where there are too many people involved, so someone just needs to suck it up and give in and be unhappy with the choice. I have endured this for a week at a time, and I cannot imagine it being my entire married life. There are so many things wrong with polygamy, and they are all front and center every time you watch this family.

And I still don't get why they are even moving if its more expensive. Does Ariella get no wedding now, since that was part of Kody's original argument for moving, so that Ariella could have a wedding like her sisters are getting? I am betting that Ariella still gets a wedding and Truely is the one who gets screwed and has to marry at the Chapel of Love on Las Vegas Blvd.

Each week, I am more and more surprised at the way Kody is appearing to come unglued and the way the wives seem to becoming more and more sick of him. Even Robyn, who I have my doubts about, seems to find him exasperating. lol  It would be rather funny, if not for the poor kids.  

Mitch just annoys me.  I could be wrong about him, but, he's only slightly less annoying than Tony.  I did read some very amusing things involving Mitch. I'll go to the Spoiler thread for that. 

I suspect that Kody is freaked out that he will have no more children and that's why he is so obsessed with the two younger kids.  I hope he gets less grumpy and overbearing after this move, because, at this point, he is intolerable.

Agreed. Not only did he, er, "whip out out" for Meri, I believe he also "serviced" Christine, which may explain her slimming down and acting like she's on uppers. Wonder how he 'splained that to the Married Wifey.

I think they all need to back off of her. She has said she is moving with them so they need to stop questioning her like that.  I can understand how that upsets Meri.  Meri isn't happy about the land chosen but is trying to go along with it without making a fuss so why can't they just let her be. They can't force her to be happy about it and need to accept the best she can give at the moment and that is being compliant with the decision.

 ITA. What exactly do they want from her? I suppose they are waiting for her to jump up and down and be all excited and smiles and phony like Janelle and Christine. Then there is the phony diplomat Robin. She said she  was quiet while looking at the properties because she  wants every body else to make their own decisions, she doesn't want to influence anybody. She is so full of it. She knows the only person she really has to influence about anything is Kody. I do not care for Meri but she got out voted on the land she wanted yet is agreeing to go with them so Yayyyyyy Meri should be all excited about that.

I also happen to agree with Meri about that ugly prairie plague dog shit property. Sure, you can see mountains but they are way in the background and where are all the trees they are all going on and on about? It's mainly wide open dirt. I don't get what the angels are singing about.

Who cares what Tony, Mikelti or Maddie think of Flagstaff? They are not going to be living there. Did they really have to come along on the caravan? I suppose showing their faces gives them a few dollars from TLC so there's that. 

Awwwwww.....Poor, poor Kody. He's getting older and he's tired. It takes a lot out of a person to go back and forth between 4 wives and a gazillion kids. He wants them all in one house now. Not going to happen, Kodster. In case he hasn't noticed these women can't stand each other. Now he's bitching about having to drive between each rental house. I hope he wears himself out.

Still thinking about Robyn's slip of the tongue, when she was trying to calm Kody down during his freak-out over the acceptance of the offer. She said she explained to him six months ago that lots would also need utilities brought in. If the weddingk shower was in May or early June, she was discussingk moving with him back in December or January. She went on to act all surprised and opposed to the move after that. Then not giving her opinion on the land so everyone else could "form their own opinion", and that brutal throwing of Meri under the bus after the offer-acceptance talk- Robyn is not even a stealth bitch anymore. Just straight up, open-carry fambly blaster, all so she gets her way. I really wish Meri had dished back at her harder during the first wife/fourth wife comments.

So Kody had $80,000 cash to put down on the properties, but just six months earlier couldn't help Meri out with a smaller loan? What happened to all that talk about saving money for colleges and weddingks? And does he realize that putting down bare minimum cash only means he will be making a bigger monthly payment? Does he expect TLC to last the term of the mortgages? I agree with @65mickey, they will never build on Plague Flats. I bet Robyn is perfectly happy in her million dollar mansion.
