Super Bowl LIII: The Live Chat Topic

I feel like Steelers fans would rather sell their children TO Robert Kraft than have the Pats join the six SB trophy family.

This guy Hekker has an uncanny knack for his punts rolling away when they land.

Everything is boring tonight and will have a predictable ending.

In other news that NFL 100th commercial was brilliant!

I had no idea U2 played a half time show. I know the Boss did, but I have no idea when.

Okay, that frozen food commercial was fairly amusing.  I admit, I've only been able to watch tonight in fits and starts, but what I've seen so far has been underwhelming.  Game, commercials and halftime show.

I did like the Game of Thrones jousting with Bud Light (dilly dilly!) ad.  And I agree, the NFL 100th ad was brilliant.

Super Bowl XXXVI (36), 2002, the Pats’ first win.

When the broadcasters get amped for a punt, you know it’s not a fun night.

I thought about taking a shot every time I saw the “Maroon 5 Pats 3 Rams 0” joke on Twitter but I have to work tomorrow and don’t have time for an ER visit.

Just think, somewhere there is an extremely happy guy who had the under and Edelman as the MVP.

Maroon 5 is the whitest band that ever whited

Hmm, I don't know, I think Coldplay and almost every band from the UK might win that prize.

(Also, there is literally a black guy (PJ Morton) in the band, he's been with the band since 2010ish.)

U2’s performance in 2002 will forever be my favorite.

I feel like for that one they didn't even have to do much since it was after 9/11. Hit everyone in the emotional feels and you'll come out a winner.

Timeout to revel in the glory that was the Rams converting on third down. 🙄

ETA: Goff trying to be the caffeine of this game.

You know what this game needs? A first down.

I can't resist this - it needs the Saints!

Ooooh, so close to a TD!  That was almost interesting.

ETA: At least they scored!

At this rate, we'll be heading into overtime at 3-3.  This game may never end.

Short ending. Pats win the toss, elect to receive, get six points, and no Ram touches the ball.

I know the Jets and Colts had two TDs in their Super Bowl. Was that the fewest?

Although the NFL likes to pretend nothing happened pre-Super Bowl, in 1948 the Eagles won the NFL championship with a rousing 7-0 victory over the Chicago Cardinals.

Good point, but that was 1948. I think the game was more trench warfare back then. That’s all I got, I’m that bored.

If Goff breaks out, will he get a commercials gig with Jarred’s? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Who was the girl in the nfl commercial that threw the ball?

Dandre Johnson, a pro female kicker.   I was incorrect.  That was Sam Gordon, a high school female phenom.  The first female ref was also in it.

Thought the hit on Goff as he went out of bounds should have been flagged.  If that had been Brady, it would have been raining flags.

This game is boring. I'm just waiting for Tom to retire. I'm rooting against the Patriots. sorry.

Jesus Christ why is Edelman STILL open.

I don’t put ketchup on my burgers, but I have to think dipping them on the ketchup on the wrapper is time-consuming and messy.

FUCK.  Fuck Gronkowski and the stupid Patriots.  Fuck them all to hell.

Touchdown after 53 minutes! I think Plan B would been a Tide Pod eating contest.

Nice commercial from Amazon. I like to think Harrison Ford’s dog is named Ben.

This game reminds me of the Survivor fire-making contests where after three hours neither player can make fire even with matches and sticks and hay and they have to give them three more boxes of matches and the whole jury is asleep.

I am enraged at this goddamn turn of events.  What an irresponsible throw.

Goff really hasn’t been the same since Kupp got hurt.

Fuck the Patriots again, forevermore.

I’ve raged on Brady and Patriots and have moved on already. Time to ignore the NFL and all the Brady tongue bathing in the off-season.

One defensive penalty against the Pats is all I need to see.

My night: going to the bag of Oreos, looking at the back, and realizing I can’t eat them because they might have peanuts.

I will say this about the Pats . . . they don’t do blowouts in the Super Bowl, so there’s a bit of hope to grasp if you hate them.

Bleh. What's the point of watching this. The devil always wins.

Time to avoid the talk shows for a while.

Who is the MVP? I’d vote for the blind/deaf puppy from Puppy Bowl. 🙄🙄🙄

ETA for @magdalene . . . if the Pats are the devil, what does that make Eli? 🤔
