LMAO!: Hilarious Movie Moments

Recommended Posts

Warrior certainly isn't a funny movie, but when Brendan has his first match and they suddenly show his surly boss (who refused to open the school gym so that the kids could watch together) on the sofa yelling at the television, completely into the whole thing and jumping up and down with joy when Brendan wins? Unexpected and hilarious.

Couple of my favorite Soapdish parts: Everything at the end with the teleprompter, but especially the faces Kevin Kline and Sally Field make at that German word.

Also "You will NOT!  Have a HEAD!  When it is COMPLETE!"

And Whoopi Goldberg's character on being told to bring back Kevin Kline's soap character: "HE DOESN'T HAVE A HEAD!"

And Kevin Kline at the old persons dinner theater trying to perform "Death of a Salesman" over various old people noises, mostly talking.

Oh, that bit when Whoopi's character comes on live TV, reveals Milton Moorehead's high school yearbook picture, and Cathy Moriarty runs screaming from the set!

I just discovered The First Wives Club is on Amazon Prime, and so I've been rewatching quite often.  The whole movie is laugh out loud from start to finish, but I have come to really appreciate just how funny Sarah Jessica Parker was in it.  The way she and Maggie Smith play off each other is hysterical, first when they're having lunch together, and then at the auction:

And then of course, I love the part where Goldie Hawn, Bette Middler, and Diane Keaton have to escape Morty's condo makes me laugh until I cry.  Goldie Hawn's pose and "Thanks!" once she realizes the couple in the window said she looks great is hilarious:

thank you for these! How could have had forgotten Maggie Smith was in this? Time for a rewatch...

A Few Good Men. Not a comedy, but the scene that always gets me is when Tom Cruise stops at the newsstand to get something. When he gets back in his car, Markinson is in the back seat. He doesn't notice him at first, but when he does he makes this weird inhale/gasp and jumps. Cracks me up every single time!

The new Beauty and the Beast: the Beast making fun of Belle's favorite Shakespeare play being Romeo and Juliet. I know not everyone liked how they CGI'd his face, but those facial reactions were priceless.

YES!!! This I can agree on! Wish they'd done the hair style where his mane was full of ribbons and Beast said it and he looks "stupid" too. But I did ??at his facial expression and how he stuck his tongue out when gagging!

Well they did recreate that moment with the servants attempting to give him a makeover for the dance, complete with powder and wig. I did miss his "stupid" quote but it still made me laugh.

My favorite line in Liar, Liar, thanks to Jim Carrey's delivery, is "Where would Tina Turner be right now if she just rolled over and said 'Hit me again, Ike! And put some stank on it!!"?"

That scene should have been in the Oscar memorium

One of my favorite funny scenes (really a sequence) is everything that happens at the hospital in 9 to 5.  Why Lily Tomlin was never nominated for an Oscar for this is beyond me.

When Lily, Jane and Dolly are in the car and the cop stops them, everything Lily does just cracks me up. She is a funny, funny lady.

It's hard to pick a favorite part of that, but Violet saying, "I'm no fool, I've killed the boss; you think they're not going to fire me for a thing like that?" is certainly a contender.

I love that movie, and there's also something LOL funny on the blooper reel.  In Violet's fantasy sequence, as she's prepping Hart's chair to launch him out the window ("Because I'm a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot?" "Bingo"), she does that sing-song "Ha ha ha ha ha" and sticks her tongue out at him.  During filming, the chair malfunctioned, so as Lily Tomlin went to put it into launch position, it didn't move.  Dabney Coleman didn't miss a beat before perfectly mimicking the "Ha ha ha ha ha."

One little moment in Toy Sory 2 that always cracks me up is this exchange between Buzz and Woody:

"Soon you'll be with Andy in front of a roaring campfire making delicious hot schmoes!"

*Brief pause of Buzz staring off into the distance and grinning like an idiot*

"They're called s'mores, Buzz!"

The Lego Batman Movie has too many hilarious moments to mention in one post. Here's the first one that comes to mind:

"Password?"

"Iron Man sucks!!!!"

The Empire Strikes Back reference with Emperor Zurg telling the other Buzz that he's his father and other Buzz's "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!" made me laugh so much.

Funniest part of JJ Abrams Super 8 is definitely during the battle between the army and the alien monster and the kids are being driven by an older teenager and the car crashes:

Charles: Johnny wake up!

Cary: He's stoned!

Martin:(reaked out) Drugs are soooo bad!

Found out in the commentary that line was dubbed in post.

We lost Stephen Furst this weekend, aka Flounder from Animal House. Normally, I don't like animal cruelty in comedy, but this classic scene is the one exception:

There were so many funny scenes in Wonder Woman.  My personal favorite was the discussion of sex in the boat.  Steve's responses were hysterical.

It all boiled down to "we may need men for sex, but we sure as hell don't need them for pleasure." Gold.

As a bit of a rock-chick, I have to say "This is Spinal Tap!" is one of my favourite films I have ever had the good fortune to watch.

So many funny scenes, not least the lowering of the way-undersized Stonehenge pillars during a gig; "Smell the Glove", the blackest of black album covers, and of course the Crème de la Crème - "the amp that goes up to 11!"

So True! I can't name a scene that I don't like. I think the songs are so great as well, I like "Give Me Some Money."

Just remembered how much I love the "Come on, Dover" scene in My Fair Lady.

I especially love it because Eliza in that moment is me when I watch football with others who don't yet know the extent of my fanaticism and I'm trying to keep a cool exterior. I had new friend gasp at me like that the first time we went to a game and I let out some expletives he wasn't prepared for, heh.

Batman and Harley Quinn:

The many one-two liners between Bats and Harley! My favorite:

Harley: "Do you know what I am?"

Bats: "My punishment for dropping out of Med School."

Me: ???????????

Nightwing's reactions to Booster Gold's suggestions for who can help them, with SUBTITLES!

Two-Face's twin henchmen singing "Don't Pull Your Love!"

????????????

Planes, Trains and Automobiles, has some memorable and incredibly funny scenes throughout, but these two stand out for me:-

BE WARNED WITH THIS CLIP - IT'S A CLUSTER OF F-BOMBS!

Have a couple from Mulan. This one needs no introduction:

And then there's this classic moment, solidifying Shang as a secret dork, but we all love him for it. Plus the Emperor's parting words of wisdom: "You don't meet a girl like that every dynasty!" Miss you, Pat Morita :(

THIS! I realize this post is from a few years ago but my sister and I used to rewind and laugh until we just about cried at this guy! "A whaaaaat?" (Side note, I can't believe Jaws was only PG! I had constant nightmares from the shark chomping on Robert Shaw and still can barely stand to watch that part.)

It wasn't meant to be funny but " I'm 50 shades of fucked up" made me laugh.  The person in front of me (who I guess took 50 Shades of Gray seriously) did not appriciate me laughing because they gave me the dirtiest look.

I finally watched the first Bad Moms and it was hilarious, but JJ Watt as the soccer coach cracked me up!

"I just want to make enough money to feed my cats and put gas in my Prius!"

I am a huge fan of Laurel & Hardy, and I don't think a week goes by without be watching at least a couple of their hugely entertaining comedy shorts.

One particular favourite is their Oscar winning "The Music Box" (1932), with the boys delivering a musical piano to a customer's house. So many great/funny scenes, not least seeing them trying to negotiate one of the steepest stoops in movie-history! But the following clip contains some of my favourite gags...

I was ROLLING! ??????

Then there's this gem: when Loki sees that it's Hulk who is the champion that Thor must fight: "I have to get off this planet!" as he gets up and tries to leave. And then, when Hulk is tossing Thor like a rag doll, jumps up and taunts Thor (who can't even hear him), about how NOW he knows how it feels! A hilarious callback to Avengers when Hulk tossed Loki up and down like a rag doll, ending with "Puny God." ??????

Re Thor: Ragnarok, let's not forget "Send help" or my personal favorite, from Thor re Hulk, "He's a friend from work!" Once again, Chris Hemsworth proves that he's just as funny as he is fine.

Or the look of absolute joy on his face until he realizes that Hulk is trying to smash him but good!

Thor's introduction to the history of Sakkar with "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Thor meeting up with Surtur. "Son of... a bitch! You're still alive? I thought my father killed you like a million years ago!"

Bruce's continual discomfort at how tight Tony wears his pants... since he now has to wear them.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention the scene where Bruce gets an epiphany and tells Scrapper/Valkyrie that he “gets it” now or understands and jumps out of the ship-fully expecting to morph into Hulk-I was expecting to see the awesome transformation too-only to gasp ?when he went SPLAT!!! on the bifrost bridge! And then burst out ?????????

And though Fenrir wasn’t a good  ?, he so reminded me of Season one Game of Thrones Direwolf!?

From Justice League when

Spoiler

Aquaman reads everybody on the team but Wonder Woman for filth because he's sitting on WW's Lasso Of Truth. Like Chris Hemsworth, Jason Momoa proves that "funny" & "fine" aren't mutually exclusive.

Every time I watch The Thing - the original, of course - there's a scene that just kills me.  After Wilford Brimley's Blair is locked up in the shed after he destroys everything and shoots up the joint,  Kurt Russell's Macready checks in on Blair.  An entire conversation takes place, yet no one acknowledges the fact that there's a noose hanging, ready to go, and it's prominently placed near Blair's head.  It's like a scene I would expect in a Naked Gun film.

For some reason, the scene in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" -- where Jason Seigel's character is trying to compose a song while playing piano, starts giving up in disgust and just starts talk-singing to himself angrily -- kills me:  "Peter you suck!  Peter you SUCK!  Peter, you don't do anything of value!  Go see a psychiatrist!  I hate the psychiatrist!  Go anyway!  I'm not going!"

Agreed! This is a movie I watch whenever it's on. Also funny: Bill Hader as the stepbrother, and the scene where Jason is playing The Muppet Show theme song on the piano.

Oh man I love Bill Hader as the stepbrother, especially in the scene where Peter is following Sarah at the resort and you can hear the stepbrother screaming through the cell phone at Peter. “Noooo!  What are you doiiiinggg?!$&@“.
