My sister & her husband had a house (with pool & hot tub) & then a condo close to a pool, for over thirty years.  They went there to avoid the cold Calgary winters.  I visited many times & didn't enjoy it at all.  Too hot in the day to leave your car in the sun, & if you did, you had gloves to protect your hands from getting burnt on the steering wheel ... LOL.  I've never really liked "the heat", particularly the humid "eastern heat", so I'd never go there again.  Also, my sister died & my brother-in-law doesn't want to go without her because the couples they socialized with don't want to include him, even for golf with the guys.  Strange???

It isn't particularly hot in the winter when most people are there. It's pretty perfect weather. It is like Indian summer with warm days and cooler nights - but not frigid. It is pretty classic low desert climate. Los Angeles - at least on the west side is Mediterranean climate. The Valley tends to be more desert climate.

But in the summer in Palm Springs, as I posted, the heat is intolerable and even driving in a car is an ordeal unless you park in a covered spot because the cars get so hot.

But it is an ideal getaway spot in the winter for people in Los Angeles although it isn't really what most people would consider to be a destination vacation. There is a very sizable show and polo community there in the winter as well.

Switching gears, I can’t believe Tracy’s sister is a decorator.  That house was really fugly on the inside.  As others have mentioned, the table in the wine cellar was way too large.  And who does a sunken living room these days???  There is a reason they were in style for a very, very short period of time.

I've got to admit that I'd be much more willing to hire the sister to design my house (with input from me) than Tracy to sell it. I love a good sunken living room.

I beg to differ ... I found it REALLY HOT when I visited, usually in January to celebrate my birthday.  But then, I've always disliked the heat & this summer in Calgary was bitchin' hot.  I was glad to have A/C.  Anyway, I'm dragging us OT, so I'll just leave it there.

(If I'd known about horse shows & polo, I would have dragged myself over burning coals ... LOL.)

Tracy's (and her sister) father is Ron Tutor, who is the head of a massive construction company--Tutor-Saliba. They're do mostly buildings and heavy civil works construction--think freeways in SoCal. He's worth nearly $1billion.

So they were raised with beaucoup bux. Tracy is one of five, but I'm sure she has benefited from Daddy's largesse along the way.

Also, I live in LA and I love going to the desert. There's something different about the air there. Yes, it's broiling hot in the summers, but Palm Springs is becoming more of a year-round place.

After several seasons of Tracy, it dawned on me in this episode that there's something off about how she dresses.

Yes, its high end designer, and she has to look professional and expensive, but its ...sorry to use this cliche, ....but she epitomizes it: the clothes wear her. Too much, too busy, overdressed for her petite frame.  In combination with her beach waved long extensioned hair, the heavy eye makeup, the purse, the boots, .....her look is too much.

the outfit she wears in (most? all?) of her talking heads does her no favors. It's a shiny peach thing that to me just screams "cheap" (though I'm sure it's not)

That is a major shady construction company. They were successfully sued for fraud by Los Angeles for financial stuff building the subway. They were also sued by San Francisco (successfully) for financial fraud in connection with a major municipal construction project.

I am sure there are a myriad of other projects where they cut corners and billed inappropriately that didn't make major headlines.

ETA - These were major settlements - I think they were each about $25 million which means there was a lot of financial mischief and crooked billing going on

David and James strike me as much as brothers as they are best friends, where they can have angry fights but get over it the next day.  I bet there's been a ton more disputes among them over the years,  but they have this unconditional love for one another that overrides any disagreements.  It's refreshing to see their relationship.

David and James were raised as essentially brothers. As I recall during the initial season their back story was revealed and their mothers were best friends and so they were best friends from their early childhood.

In my experience, these kinds of relationships are often more of a family than one's biological family.

This "storyline" with the 3 girls who don't want to move can miss me. I didn't like it when the Brady kids did it almost 50 years ago, but at least I enjoyed watching the Brady Bunch. The crop-top kids are cringey. Also fairly sure those were the same bananas on the counter from Josh's first visit to all of the showings. I know this isn't exactly reality, but c'mon.

Yeah, Bobby wasn't alone there.

Her house is an unholy mess, looking every inch the hodgepodge ad hoc fantasy island explosion of her dreams. I haven't seen any prospective buyers so far, except the guy who hinted at developing the area. Good luck, Josh.

I love the new listing for the Brits, with Eyal.  I love the view and the pool.

I was shocked at Suzanne Somers, and her house is so overdone, I can see why it's not selling.   Apparently, the $8.5 million price was originally $14 million or so, and they said it had been for sale for years.

I'm glad Josh and Bobby calmed down, and are being more reasonable.   I agree with Josh, always think resale, even if you never intend to move.

The three daughters not wanting to move was ridiculous, and letting the daughter play realtor was a waste of time.   I liked the primary, and the giant en suite. the pool was lovely.   I'm guessing that they never use the kitchen.   I hope the fake signs about mold around the house were just for the storyline.    The daughters are out of control, and maybe they need to cover up?   I can't believe how young girls like that are dressed like they're 21, and on the town.

I love the closet at Tracy's sister's house.  But hearing about Tracy's sex life was too much.   I'm glad she sold her sister's house.

The sad looking dog on Tracy's patio was Tracy's dog (or supposed to be Tracy's, I'm guessing it's actually Bobby's dog), that Flagg keeps taking home (Tracy and Flagg are only a few houses apart on the same street).   Then, the storyline is Tracy doesn't have time for the dog, so Bobby and Flagg keep him at their house.   I bet by the end of the season, Tracy will 'give' them the dog, because she's moving again or something like that.    If I was out alone on Tracy's patio, instead of with Bobby, I'd look sad too.

I wonder what those horrible daughters of the home seller will do to someone else's house?     Since when does a realtor have showings with the owners and family in the house?    I love the preview they showed for next week, but will probably record it, and skip the entitled brats trashing someone else's house.   I watch this show for the homes, I love saying mean things about rich people's bad taste in decorating, and clothing.

I am not interested in seeing the kids of the realtors, so I am really not interested in the annoying spawn of some random client. Josh thought their antics caused him to waste his time during showings? Their antics wasted my time as a viewer. If this becomes a trend I will have to ditch the show. Also as someone else pointed out, the bunches of bananas looked the same from the initial meeting with the spawn, to the day of the showings, so it seems everything was filmed on the same day. Oh, and the house was really boring on the outside - not even any contrast, with the brick also being white. Yawn.

I hope we are done with seeing Tracy's sister. Tracy's voice is annoying enough, so to have two people with that ear bleeding vocal fry is two too many. I can't believe that her sister is an interior designer. She has terrible taste. Also was the poor dejected pooch they showed lying outside of Tracy's house when she was on the phone at the start of the epi, the one that usually hangs out at Josh and Bobby's? I'd be sad too if I was stuck with Tracy when I could be with Bobby. The only thing I find entertaining about Tracy is her terrible fashion sense.

Exactly. This show is supposed to be about the brokers doing their jobs, and the house porn.

I'm not interested in seeing their families. That type of thing works on a Housewives show, but not here.

With the Brits house and the co-lister/owner.  Theyre showing the house to the realtor in a red suit w blonde curly hair.  The owner had the leather outfit on and then on the stairs, the owner had a beige outfit on.  Same realtor was toured with owner wearing different clothes.  I get they probably filmed that house in one day, but come on.....Or I can be completely wrong too.  I half watch when that owner was one, ridiculous the way she treating agents/buyers.

Since this is producer-led nonsense.  No way that was real.  I guess the producers think this is entertaining.  It's not. Cut it out.

Which brings me to the developer's wife who was making the Brits' life a nightmare. I couldn't tell if it was producer-driven nonsense (better acting than the mom and kids) or if it was real. If it was real, yikes.

Please get Suzanne Somers off my screen. She's insufferable.

I've watched every episode of this show and last night I was tempted to turn it off. I'm here for the house porn, not contrived storylines.

Her Chrissy Snow "impression" was just sad.  I get that she's aged, but dang - does she even use moisturizer?  Her skin is awful.  My mother is older than her, and mom's skin is amazing, without any "touch ups".

Flagg is a trust fund baby and Altmann isn't.

Early episodes when Altmann joined the cast had him continually whining about Flagg's connections, family, and trust fund, which made him come off as a jealous prick.

I'm sure Mommykins thought it would be their "big break".  That casting directors would see their smuggy mugs and say "I must have that middle one for my next picture."

Because otherwise you just showed the entire nation you raised a trinity of BRATZ.

The fake story with the kids was awful. At this point in the show’s run you’d think they could at least try a little harder to make a compelling fake story. Also thought it was insane that the mom was looking to buy her “model” daughter a $10M house. Yeah, what can go wrong giving a child her own mansion in Encino?

Glad Tracy could sell her rich daddy’s (erm, sister’s) house for well below asking price. As to Tracy’s style, I think it’s mostly a mix of bad LA fashion trends and Tracy not willing to age gracefully. She could easily wear more conservative clothes and look great, but I think she wants to look “hot”.

As awful as the co-lister was, she had a point with the one agent who only saw flaws in the house. If you don’t think your clients would like the house then just leave and don’t waste anyone’s time. I’m not sure what her angle was (other than be on TV.) She wasn’t asking the seller to change it or ask if the price could be reduced.  She just didn’t like the house. That being said, Yanteel is awful. I hate people who interrupt. James and David would be better off just working on their own for half commission than co-listing.

Anyone catch Flagg mention Suzanne Somers house was once listed over $30M?!?!? And they’ve done so much to it that it’s not one cohesive house. I don’t know Palm Springs, but I’d be asking all sorts of questions about the electricity, water, AC, etc. I imagine the whole system is a rats nest at this point. Tear it all down and build something with a common aesthetic.

No Flagg this episode. Boooo.

I hate the obviously contrived story lines, and having the bratty kids of a client involved in one makes it 100 times worse. Just awful acting from obnoxious tweens all the way around. If production people are scanning these boards, take note: the audience is interested in the houses and deal-making, not cutesy fabricated stuff.

Tracy's sister's house would look really nice if were about 1/4 of it's current size and had completely different decor. Her sister has terrible taste - her interior design matches Tracey's fashion sense. Their Mom seems like a nice lady.

Glad other people think Suzanne Somers' Palm Springs estate is a hot mess.

I love Suzanne Somers’ house! I grew up in homes that were over a hundred years old and eclectic as hell, so I guess the craziness doesn’t bother me like it does other people. I love the funicular! The outdoor bathtub with the Mountain View!

The scripted tweens and Altman story line is the type of nonsense that has made me stop watching other “reality” shows.

The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as it would be hard to have picked a less flattering outfit than her mother’s pink jumpsuit.  Her mother was not fat amd when standing it looked as if she had a barrel in the middle amd when sitting she was popping out of the buttons. 🤷‍♀️

I loved the funicular, too. Just enjoying the view while I'm being moved up and down a mountainside.

I'm not the biggest fan of Suzanne's house. Mostly because the interior is a little dark for me taste, but I do dig the quirkiness of it. I think living in it would drive me nuts because it's so splintered, but the overall property is fantastic. I would definitely overhaul the house, though.

It's actually something that would be great for my dad who has a partial prosthetic leg.

My comment is relative to her home being for sale. Usually when people are selling their homes, they’re advised to remove most personal items that make it hard for prospective buyers to see themselves in the home. They’re also usually advised to clear clutter so the home looks more spacious.

I think she’s been trying to sell that house for over a decade. There’s something else going on besides her just wanting to move on. If she really wanted to move she’d find a new place, move, then stage and sell the house. Maybe she just uses the house to keep getting on TV shows or there’s some psychological issue where she doesn’t really want to sell. We’ll see.

Those three brats and their mother were clearly hoping a casting agent would see them and immediately sign them as the next big thing.  So obnoxious with the signs--the two older ones dressed like they're 20 and acting like they're 10.

Suzanne Somers's house is kind of a fabulous mess.  Definitely has a vibe to turn it into a B&B.  If she is so against that, then I guess don't sell.

And, yikes, that owner/realtor with the Brits was the worst.  Telling people to do their research before looking at a house.  Does she think they're on a job interview?  So weird--like, reality check: once you sell, the new owners can do whatever the hell they want with ~your house, as it's not ~your house anymore.

No, not at all, thanks! I thought maybe I was unclear. I’m kinda nosy, so I like seeing people’s stuff, even if in this case, Suzanne  won’t easily sell her house with all of it in there!

Given that these shows are filmed about 6 to 8 months earlier than are aired on TV, does anyone know if Suzanne Somers' home has actually sold yet, or what the status of it is ?

Or is it still on the market ?

Maybe it's just because I'm sooooo sick of white/grey boxes but I actually liked the design of Tracy's sister's house. She didn't spend a few million of her Daddy's illegally made money to just make it look like something she could have gotten for $200k.

I wonder if she cares as much about the stupid sister feud as Tracy does?

Suzanne Somers. There is old and there is old trying to look young. Yikes! I guess I haven’t seen her in a while. Anyhoo, the house looked lived in as a house should. When Altman was showing the house with the annoying daughters, one of the prospective buyers had a "daughter who traveled internationally." When Josh asked what she did, she said she was "just a model."

Now forgive me, but since when are "internationally traveling models" only about 5 foot 4? She was the shortest person in the group of three women!

And that family is selling a 10k sqft house to buy "something bigger." SMH.

It wasn't that she looked old as there are many older actresses who have aged gracefully. Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep are about the same age and don't look freakish.

Suzanne Somers looks freakish - all of what is wrong about the Los Angeles plastic surgery aesthetic in one horrible face.

I have no idea who she is, but something like that sounds right. Her “international travels” may just be family vacations, too. Can’t really blame her though. If my parents bought me a $10M house like it was no big deal I’d have no work ethic or motivation. Hell, my retirement goal is just to buy a house in the middle of nowhere and adopt a lot of dogs. This house is halfway there. Odd thing was that the mom didn’t seem too awful or pretentious like you’d expect her to be.
