I'm with @Vixenstud - it's up to the person grieving to decide how she wants to grieve, and if Karen decides that doesn't include Gizelle (and if it were me, it wouldn't), then Gizelle just has to deal with it. I mean, I been thought Matt is a Bravo production assistant but if Karen wants him there with her and not Gizelle, that's that on that.

Oh I totally agree with that, but Karen contradicts herself in what she wants and how she wants it, and I don't mean Matt being there as opposed to Gizelle.  Someone is reaching out, you don't have to put them down after shaming them for reaching out.  She says in her talking head that "you need to come to my house you don't think I own and apologize," well, ok, Gizelle is asking to come to your house and wants to check on you.  Is it last minute? Yes.  So just tell her it's a bad time - no need for Karen to shit talk her about it.  It's what she asked for!

It seems like they just picked the cameras up and just kept shooting right after last season.  Everyone seems to be in the same exact place we left them off at the reunion.  Monique's pregnancy doesn't even seem to have advance that much.

Karen is "grieving" in full hair and makeup and 4" spiked heels with her "assistant"?  Weird.  She is still mad at Gizelle for "tax reform" and "free Uncle Ben"?  Wasn't that episode one of season three?  That's stil a live issue?  Damn.  Where is Ray, BTW?  I know he could easily be at work, but he's usually around an awful lot for filming.  Methinks there's trouble in paradise there.  And I know we saw a picture of an ad for her perfume, but does anyone know if the product actually exists?  Like, could I go out and buy it today?  And would it be at a reasonable price point?

Gizelle and Sherman--I don't know their specifics, but I don't really believe in grown adults giving each other second chances after they've broken up/broken each others' hearts.  Move on.  I like her a lot as a mom, and I think she is a breath of fresh air with her confidence.  I think this would be a completely different franchise without her.

Robyn--hate the hair.  It is like she went to the salon and said, "make my hair as ugly as possible."  She and Juan--yawn.  It's like everyone said--who cares how much sex you're having?  The real question is whether he is putting a ring (back) on it.  I love how he said last night that he wasn't ready to be married back in 2005 and Robyn was like, "yeah, me neither."  Robyn, you were ready for Juan since y'all met, which was in high school.  Who does she think she's fooling?

Monique--I guess I like her a little better pregnant. She's not smoking those nasty cigars or running her car off a road, which is good, but she doesn't do it for me.  I think she is trying a little too hard to play a role of the devout wife and mother, but that cat-that-ate the canary grin she always wears because Chris "picked her" kind of gives away the underbelly of what is going on with her.

Candiace--I can't believe they let her come back.  What a boring baby.  I think 2/3 of last night's episode was Candiace wiping tears with a tissue or a napkin directly on her eyeballs, which looked like it hurt.  Her mom is being a total diva bitch, but I think Candiace needs to own her part in this.  She could have told her mom her intentions from the get-go about inviting her brother, and if her mom said no, Candiace could have had the wedding without mom's checks.  No one really seems excited--not Chris, no Candiace, not Dorothy--so what is the point of spending $100k?   This better be one hell of a wedding, considering we spent a whole season talking about it.

Ashley--that sexual exercise with Michael was not something I want to witness ever again in my life, but I love me some Ashley.  I think she is so smart and well-educated, and she may be the most poised Housewife across the franchises. At the same time, she is always keeping the show fresh, never shying away from a confrontation, always bringing up the dirt on people.  And then when it goes sideways, she just apologizes.  Bravo needs to have an Ashley on every Houswife franchise and it will never get dull.

I know this episode was slow, but the whole first two seasons were slow, and then the season two reunion was EPIC, and it's been so great ever since then, so I'll give it some time before I complain about how boring it is.

On a totally shallow note, this is the best looking of the Housewives bunch in my opinion. I think all the Atlanta women are also very pretty.

Gizelle has a lot of nerve having her feelings hurt after the way she treated Karen. I believe if Monique apologize to Gizelle this will be her 3rd apology tour with one VIP ticket (calling her a trick, inviting Sherman ex wife to a function and now for putting Sherman business out there). Each time Gizelle has rebuked her and remained nasty. I like Gizelle but it's always healthy to swallow a few doses of your own medicine.

Karen, here’s the deal -  If you are sobbing and I comfort you and you continue to sob all over me, I have been supportive.  I’m not making you cookies, I’m not driving to your play house, I’m not giving said cookies to that little guy you hire every season to be your friend, nope. I’ve already been supportive.  Even in your “deep grief” you’re a mega bitch.

I lost both of my parents within 5 months. Was I sad, yes. Was I grieving, yes. Did I get on with life, yes. My parents had full lives and were both ill, as Karen's were. The death of aged parents is sad but it is not a tragedy. Get over yourself Karen.

Agree with all of these points!  Robyn is technically a beautiful woman but why does she not enhance her natural beauty?  She cannot pull off short hair.  Or at least not that cut.  And I believe Juan is fucking her, but he probably still has a bunch of GFs while she pays most of the rent.  Also, who didn't see her flipping houses not be as simple as she initially thought?  Everyone.

Candiace's mom is something else.  Isn't she supposed to be a pyschologist?  If so, how on earth does she manage to not let go of the fact her husband cheated and produced a kid for THAT long?  Who would go to her for mental health help after witnessing that?  And Candiace, your mom couldn't lord everything over you if you were self-sufficient and didn't rely on her check.  Cancel the fucking extravagant wedding and have a garden party wedding you can afford.

Ashley, don't need to see you romancing the cryptkeeper.  I do think she is absolutely gorgeous.

For me, the reaching out should not be so soon.  If I've learned nothing else in experiencing an extremely painful breakup of a 17 year friendship, I know that when something goes down, give the other person the space they need; just because Gizelle wants to make amends  doesn't mean Karen wants to, at least not now because for her it is too soon.

I am still trying to bleach the image of Michael and Ashley's soft porn scene from my brain. How the actual fuck did she think that was okay. I suppose I like her but the girl has no bloody class whatsoever. Between guzzling the Corona lights and last night's offense, I'm like, girl, what is your problem?!?

I also don't need to hear about Robin and Juan's sex life and loathe that hairstyle. What was she thinking when she did that shit, I wonder.

Karen is still as fake as ever. Did anyone think if that's your house shouldn't you know that? She's no Dr. Jackie who doesn't really cook at all that I know of. But who knows? She's shady, though.

Candace is a jackass. Does she have an actual skill she could offer the marketplace and get a real job that is unconnected to her mother. And how profitable is this hair thing anyway? That said, her mother is being a real cow. If she's acting like this over the brother decades later, imagine what a harridan she was during the marriage. And how the actual fuck is she a psychologist? Is there proof of this, because she is one of the most unsympathetic people I've ever seen. Is this the kind of advice she would give her patients? Cut the cord, Candace!

Gizelle continues to be my face and it was fun to see her with the girls, who also seem like fun. Not sure about this Sherman business, though.

Can't wait to see Katie bring the Krazy.

Okay, I have yet to watch the show. Sundays are a televisual feast with GOT, 90 Fiance (3 damn hours), Bob's Burger. I can't fit Potomac in but I am loving the comments and plan to watch later tonight.

Okay, I’ma say it….I found Ashley/Michael’s blindfolded/whipped cream play hot!  And awkward (that’s why I don’t do whipped cream, damned stuff poofs away from the goodies and you have to find something else to eat off your partner!)

Thanks for the heads up. I will keep my finger posed on the FF button because I can guarantee you, I will not share your feelings.

I am not, I repeat NOT, a fan of Ashley's and feel no love for her but I agree with the rest of this statement. That said, I can't wait for the others to put their foot on her neck re: Mike's ass grab.

This x 1000.  I'm right back into my secondhand embarrassment with this chick because she's so GIDDY about this Juan shit and she doesn't realize how it looks.  Or maybe she knows and just doesn't care?  Either way, supreme cringe.  And I wouldn't be admitting to my house flipping ventures over running the timetable so drastically.  It's not as easy as HGTV makes it look, is it Robyn?

Gizelle 's girls?  SO cute!  But how did they get so big so quickly?!

This first episode was lacking but I'm glad these ladies are back.

When she spilled the beans on camera about Sherman being arrested in Rock Creek Park for solicitation. Not that is wasn't already known (it had been covered in the papers when it occurred), but it was old news having taken place a while ago prior to him agreeing to be on the show.

Gizelle has said/done some shitty things to Karen all in the name of ‘jokes’….. she needs to realize that Karen will holla at her when she’s ready and she should respect that.  Also, Karen has lost another parent within seven months of each other, giving her the right to grieve as long as she needs to and with whom.  Matt seems like a nice friend (didn’t know he was gay until I saw his slippers), I like them together.

Grace is a very stunning young lady.  But gotdamn, what in the bluedilly hell is in the Potomac water, she and her sisters have grown women’s bodies!  Loved Grace telling Gizzard that maybe Karen didn’t find her ‘jokes’ funny.

Methinks Gizelle's daughters know who Gizelle is. Gizelle appears to be a loving mother and she and her daughters do seem to have good, strong relationships, but I suspect they also know their mother is, as I like to say, Jane Toussaint from School Daze, 30 years later.

I agree.  Gizelle's daughters recognize that she's a mean girl because they've been dealing with mean girls at school.

Am I the only one that loves Karen?  Some of her one-liners are hilarious.  I know she's woefully deluded but she's a scene stealer in my book.

I also find Karen hilarious.  But sometimes her extreme lack of self-awareness grates.  My favorite Karen was when she was able to laugh at herself on their European trip last year when the girls wore her wig around the pool.  If she was like that more often, I would love her.

I'm with Karen on this one. If Gizelle and I are "friends" then even if the show is being filmed, you will not use the bad parts of my personal life as funny dialogue for your scenes. You know I'm in the papers and blogs for some pretty heavy stuff, what's the joke about free uncle ben, tax reform, etc. Even if it was a joke, that was a terrible poorly timed joke. I don't need those types of friends.

Monique is my favorite housewife on this cast and my 2nd favorite housewife in the whole franchise, only narrowly beaten out by Cynthia Bailey. She seems like the most real down to earth housewife, and I think she's a great mother. I have been following her on IG, listening to her not for lazy moms podcast, and she is great. I loved her in this episode. She's one of the few housewives I actually see "raising" their kids in front of the camera, like when she told them to chill out when they were being rowdy, and praising Chris when he was taking care of his little sister. I love love love her.

I could do without the Ashley and Robyn scenes. Not the biggest fan of either of them. I feel bad for Robyn, I hope for her sake that she is telling the truth about her and Juan, because its pretty hard to watch her be the gullible girl every season. I think he is doing damage control for how bad he looked in season 1.

Candiace's mother had my blood boiling. I won't even get into it, but briefly I can't believe the things that were coming out of her mouth, as a therapist. She's a walking contradiction and I hope Candiace's brother is not offended by the things that she said.

I liked Gizelle's daughters telling her about how maybe she should've have said the jokes. It reminded me of Cynthia's daughter being a voice of reason. It's amazing the number of kids on Housewives that seem to be fairly level-headed.

So, when Karen was asking the Black Bill Gates how to turn on the oven, was he even really there, or was that a set up to pretend he was there?

I agree with Candice's mom; the conversation about her half brother attending her wedding should have been private.  Perhaps the cameras gave her the confidence to broach the subject.

I do think Candy (sorry, writing her version of her name is just too cumbersome) has the right to invite her half brother whether he is illegitimate (Candy's mom's word) or not.  He did nothing wrong.  Should she have done it off camera?  Yup.  But a part of me thinks she did.

Does Candy's mom have a right to have a say in the wedding?  Yup.  She's paying for most, if not all, of it.  If you want to have total control, then take 'your' check book out Candy.  What a dysfunctional relationship these two have.

Giselle's girls are so cute.

Sorry Karen, you're fake as heck.

Well since that piece of work that is Candyass’s mother makes me feel a little bad for Candiace - and as noted, that make me mad since she’s annoying.

What a dysfunctional relationship and Candy needs to not be monetarily dependent on her mom (I don’t mean the wedding).

But her mom is the biggest loser of the two after lashing out about her ex’s son - Candy’s half-brother.  He’s not to blame about how he came into the world and how many years has it been? That’s a lot of years of hostility that hasn’t been dealt with.

On 5/6/2019 at 12:20 AM, Mondrianyone said:

It's really hard to believe that Mama Candy-Ass is a psychologist!  God help her patients.  Lady, that man cheated on you and then you married him.  And had another baby with him, seven or eight years later.  You are far too fucked up to be responsible for the mental health of paying clients.  And possessives have 's after them.  Sounds very trashy for someone with an advanced degree to talk like that.

I want to have the tissue concession at Candy's wedding.  And everywhere else she goes.  Not that they ever get wet with actual tears.  But still . . .

17 hours ago, Empress1 said:

This is why I think couples should pay for their own weddings and if that means City Hall and sandwiches, so be it. Candiace and Chris had, I think, $20K of their own money to spend. They should have had a $20K wedding then. Candiace's mother is always going to use her money to control her. That's what she signed up for. There are some parents who will give their kids money and shut up. Candiace's mother is not one of them, and I'm sure she never has been and never will be. Is she wearing a white dress to the wedding in the preview?

It does sound like Candiace wasn't allowed to deal with her brother, which is really fucked up, because Candiace's mother appeared surprised to hear that Candiace had a relationship with him. Candiace's brother is as much her sibling as her sister is (IIRC she and her sister have different fathers).

Candiace's mother is bitter as FUCK. This shit went down 35+ years ago. It's not the brother's fault. If she's that mad now, with a divorce, another husband, and another child under her belt, I can only imagine how mad she was when it happened. And she had a right to be, but in that case she shouldn't have married the man.

Plus, didn't they have a big wedding? The family knows the deal but not the rest of the guests. "This is my brother." "Oh, OK. Nice to meet you. Where's the bar?" That's all it would be.

I skipped a lot of this. Ashley and Michael are very unappealing to me, so I fast-forwarded through them.

16 hours ago, bichonblitz said:

The way she folds them in to perfect squares and then dabs the corners of her eyes, how many times did she do that in one episode? Maybe 3? Go away, ya spoiled, boring, brat!

Too many things to comment on:

Candiass can not have her mother  pay for everything in her life and then scream about independence. Yes, your mother is a horror show but unless you want to budget your life down to what a fake restaurant owners and Tupperware wig entrepreneur can actually afford in the area you will have to deal with her shit to some degree. Also, I do believe she ambushed her mom on purpose for good tv and not so much that she cares about her half brother. She is hoping reality show fame will free her from mama’s purse strings.

Ashley is gorgeous but she was trying way too damn  hard with Outback Jack. Where there’s smoke there’s fire and her husband is probably at least bisexual. I really don’t care but she is really wants us to believe otherwise.

Monique’s baby girl is a doll. I do think she is a good mom. She really won the jackpot with Chris. The man adores her, has a shit ton of money, and makes pretty babies.

I would not be surprised if Matt is robbing Karen blind in some way. That friendship” does not pass the smell test.

Giselle’s girls are growing into lovely young ladies. G also seems to be a good mom but those girls have her pegged, I wonder if she would be as thirsty for Sherman if we found out the dude was broke?

Robyn bragging that her ex husband that she probably supports is still banging her is just sad. She needs to rethink that blonde in her hair.

Ashley & Michael were just gross. I do not want to see that, especially when there is negative chemistry between them. The fakeness was coming through the TV in waves.  And Robin made me sad bragging that she & Juan were going at it like bunnies. He doesn't love you Robin, you can do so much better!!! Have some confidence girl, and get that house flipped. SMDH

I also thought we saw Candiace's wedding last season, but realized what I saw was on SM. Candiace's mother is horrible, and if her "first love" cheating on her and having a child from that relationship was too much for her to endure, she shouldn't have married him. And by no means would any mature, healthy adult take it out on the child, whether they are 4 or 40. The fact that she is a psychologist and acting this way surprises me not at all, since the 2 therapists I know IRL are two of the most horrible, entitled, selfish people I know. And it is way, way past time for Candiace to stand on her own two feet.

Gizelle's girls have grown so much! Beautiful young ladies. And Chris Jr & Milani are just little dolls. Monique & Chris are good parents.

So Karen was upset that Gizelle didn't reach out to her, but then when Gizelle did just that, she wanted to grieve alone (or with "assistant" Matt)? Karen should grieve the way she needs to, for sure, but I can see how Gizelle would have thought visiting with cookies would be a good idea, but she really should have phoned or texted first. Although that would be no fun for the Bravo cameras, would it? Karen accepting the cookies so as not to disappoint Gizelle's girls was very sweet, but if I'm Gizelle I'm going to keep my cookies for the ride back to Potomac from Great Falls. But they both played their parts perfectly.

Ashley & Michael were just gross. I do not want to see that, especially when there is negative chemistry between them.

It’s like negative negative anti chemistry.  BLECH!!!  Ashley, girl.  Go get a sperm donor or better yet a man your own age that would make a baby with you.  How is she this desperate????? She’s not ugly or fat or old.  Michael ain’t THAT rich.  Right?

Re: Robyn's hair

I have surmised that she's going for the tough as nails no nonsense facade. Ooh look a "bad bitch"! The shorter her hair, the shorter her patience after all. 🙄 She should have a rapunzel weave of that's the case.

Same.  I find her so funny sometimes.  I was listening to the Watch What Crappens podcast recap this morning and laughing like a maniac in my car when they were impersonating her going "Security....Security!" from last season.  And I do really enjoy her and Ray-they seem very loving.  Her children also seem normal and grounded.

He was - his real estate firm was one of the biggest in DC at one point, though they took a huge hit in the recession (I remember him saying on the show "we have some good things going on at work, we might get back to being the biggest in DC again"). Google tells me his net worth is $20M, though grain of salt and all that. Ashley said he (I think she said "they," but she also said she barely makes enough to support herself if she were single, so let's be real) spent $1M to open that restaurant.

I've said it before: Ashley may indeed love Michael but if Michael were a 60-year-old high school principal, Ashley wouldn't be there.

No way in Hell Ashley would be with Crikey Mikey without the money. When someone that gorgeous hooks up with a older married man that looks like albino Yoda it ain’t for love. I think deep down Ashley loves being thought of as a trophy wife, just like Candyass loves being thought of as a princess though she might say otherwise. Ashley has hustle and if she divorces she will probably walk off in good financial shape particularly with a new baby. I think she is still managing the restaurant but I am not sure about that.

I'm actually surprised he's still with her because usually the expectation for a trophy wife is to stay in your lane and do as you're told, and Ashley didn't do that. People rarely marry people 30 years their junior because they want an equal partner. Add to that the fact that he was supporting her able-bodied family (which many people wouldn't be interested in doing - I would not), and I'm surprised they're still married.

Crikey Mikey, you so silly!!  Guess I'm the only one that finds him attractive.

Again, Gizelle bringing Karen cookies as a sweet way to make amends?  Good idea, just too damned soon.  Wait for Karen to come around though, Gizelle's 'jokes' were cruel and not funny at all.

I've liked Karen since S1 and my love still remains....add Monique and Ashley to the mix now, though Ashley has gone down a few pegs with her messiness about some of the ladies.

Beaky Buzzard's head does look like ramen noodles!  Someone mentioned it and now I agree.

As for Gizelle and Sherm?

So true! These women might be obvious with their gold digging ways but at least its better than the ATL where some of the guys cheat and  probably need to borrow money from their howives to pay the tab.

Didn’t we see this wedding last season?  I thought we already endured this.   I don’t want to watch this again.

Anyone else wonder if Ashley’s pregnancy is an agreement between her and Michael for her to keep her mouth shut about something she has on him?

Right?!?!? When I saw the season preview I was so confused because I felt positive that I already fast forwarded through her wedding last season. Oh well, I’ll just do it this season, I guess. I already FF’d past all of her scenes this episode,  And all of Robin’s scenes too, once I saw how gross they were going to be.

What is craziest to me is that every season I absolutely couldn’t stand Karen, she made my stomach hurt, but it turned out that she was the only one I didn’t FF at all. I’m shocked by this!

Monique is so boring to me, I’m tired of RH pregnancies, I just could not care less. Ashley doing sexy things with her elderly husband is too much for me to bear. Looks like I’m going to skate through this whole season only logging a total of an hour or two actually watching it. 👍

Candiace's mother has a whole 'nother husband (not sure if she is still married to him) and a whole 'nother child. This situation went down 41 years ago.  It's time to let go.

Candiace's mother uses the money to control Candiace because she couldn't control her father 41 years ago.

Having said this, if *I* am paying for your wedding, EYE get to dictate the guest list.  EYE get to dictate the dress you wear, the food you eat and the venue you have it in.  EYE get to dictate the music, the day you have it and the time of day you have it.  If you don't like it, take your azz to PG courthouse or Alexandria City Hall, have a reception catered by Giant or Safeway and start looking for apartments off of Route 1.

It's not like this was some Maury Povich shit where she JUST found out about the brother.  She's known about him for 40 years and you'd think, regardless of her feelings about the situation, she'd want her daughter to know her sibling.

Also I don't really get where Candiace's husband is with all of this.  I know if it was my MIL that had all of these control issues over my husband and was constantly trying to make him do whatever she wanted using the stuff she was paying for as leverage, I'd refuse to play ball.  No way in hell would I live in a house she paid for.  No way in hell would I get married in a wedding she was footing the majority of the bill for.  You want to attach strings? Fine, I won't take the gifts.  And if not taking the gifts is a dealbreaker for my husband, then he's not someone that I'd be able to be in a relationship with long term.  I can't be in a relationship with a third party.

This.  I get that she's grieving and I get that she may not want company.  It's fine to say, listen, I'm not up to having someone over, but you can drop things off.  It's also ok to say that you feel that someone needs to apologize for their prior behavior before you can resume your past friendship.  You can't refuse to allow them to do it, though, while also trashing them for trying.  Karen has had her times of shit talking the others as well.

Monique rubs me the wrong way.  Something about her just strikes me as super smug, between last year with the tired/not drunk car accident and the pushing of "natural products" for her kids which turns out to be her shilling MLM essential oils.

You may be right but I thought it was interesting that Karen's in the house with Matt (who is he anyway?).  Did he comfort her when she cried at the reunion?  Oh no, that's right.  Is he a real friend, or just someone on the Bravo payroll?  Why is Karen so tight with him?  I mean what has he done for her?  Private moment?  Oh yes, a private moment with her "assistant."  Karen's so foolish.

I don't like Monique or her husband, "If it were up to Chris, I'd be pregnant all the time...tee hee hee."  Um, no.

I don't see all this "eww...gross" stuff with Michael and Ashley, though I don't like either of them.

My favorite was Gizelle and her daughters, they look like they all have fun together.

What was Candiace doing with Karen?  Once again Karen picks a younger woman to "mentor" until that younger woman realized what a witch Karen is and dumps her.  Why is Dorothy, Candiace's mom upset with the half brother.  She and Candiace's dad were NOT MARRIED when he was born.  If Candiace's mom married the man after he had a child with someone else, it's on HER.  I think Mom just doesn't want the guests to wonder who this young man is, SHE doesn't want to be embarrassed.   Someone needs to tell Candiace that Dorothy isn't throwing the wedding for her daughter, she's throwing the wedding for HERSELF, so SHE can show HER friends, "Look what I did for MY DAUGHTER."

And Dorothy looked a fool with that yak on top of her head, and she's no mother at all, I mean even hamsters can give birth.

Sometimes the unintentional (?) humor on this show is the funniest of all.  I just remembered them flashing a brief shot of Karen's fragrance billboard, supposedly in Times Square, but I couldn't tell what building was underneath it.  So I just went to the Bravo site, and the location of the billboard really does say it all:

I'm gonna go with "Not."

(I haven't been to Ripley's in a really long time, but anyone planning a trip to NYC should drop by.  A few of the Housewives might end up as exhibits someday.)

Same here. She seems like a good mom. But she also strikes me as a sancti-mommy. If she was in the movie Bad Moms, she definitely would be hanging with the judgy Christina Applegate and Jada Pinkett-Smith crew

I concur. Yes, she appears to be a good mom but at the same time she has lotsssss of support. I'm not sure if she realizes this, either. She does tend to get on her "not for lazy moms" high horse and comes across as judgy. It will be very interesting to see how she handles 3 kids (or if Chris has his way, I'm thinking more like 6).
