It's Apollyon, Greek for Angel of Death.   Within the show, it's the name of some super secret evil organization that Pride ran afoul of and now Isler's team is trying to take down.

Thanks so much, Maverick!

So, Pride has his office job back but he's still working with his team. I guess as long as he still has his office job we won't lose Hannah.

I really enjoyed this episode.

Really liked this episode. The focus on Patton and the disabled vets was a nice change and yet it still tied in with the shows main theme of military crimes.

The best part for me was NOT seeing Pride shot again LOL!

I may be in the minority about this but I sure wouldn't mind losing Hannah.

Awwwww...  Sebastian has a photo of Loretta on his desk.  That's sweet that he has that there now that he's a real agent back at headquarters and not just the quirky lab geek.

I'm also really digging Sebastian's relationship with Gregorio, it it totally true to both their characters.  I like that we're getting some of Sebastian's backstory, though his "I'm a secret rich boy" shtick is a little too reminiscent of Hodgins from Bones.

I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode.  Good case work including Pride, no weird mystery angels appearing around Pride and he didn't get shot again, Gregorio and Sebastian's adorable banter/friendship, Sebastian's boarding school skills coming into play with the Prescotts, tragic family crime story, beautiful home setting -- good episode.  The family attorney was annoying in her intrusiveness and frankly, way too young IMO to be handling such a powerful family.  I did like that she understood in the end what was the right thing to do and didn't back the Mom all the way, regardless.

Exactly.  She might have been the family attny ....no, not at that age.  The family attny would  be sitting in his office, and he might have sent a 40 year old over to gently direct the course of things, and no way, no how would names have been dropped nor would titles have been dropped.

"right thing to do" is open to many interpretations.  Lawyering up had already been done.  Protecting a family and a corporation is a whole 'nother world.  Sometimes in NOLA, all it takes is one phone call.  So I'm told.

I hope we never have to see the annoying Elvis and his equally annoying daughter again.

My thoughts exactly. I didn’t mind Elvis much the last time we saw him but this time I was hoping someone would lock him in a closet. Tom Arnold’s obvious cold wasn’t helping any either. The daughter wasn’t much more like-able either. My heart bleeds because they destroyed her illegal computer program for cheating the lottery so she doesn’t have to go to jail. Annoying brat.

My bad thought was that I hope it really was a cold, and not that he's back on the cocaine train.  His performance seemed a little "off" too, but I know when I'm miserable with a cold, I'm more than a little "off."

I have no recollection of Elvis from episode(s) past, and didn't like him at all in this episode.

Also felt a bit bad for the friends if they got stuck paying the $10000 bill - in my head I assumed they used the money found on the victim (~$12000) to pay it, but I feel like there would be legal issues in doing so.

Am I the only one who is having problems with this episode???

It sounds like the background noise (and the background music)

is five times louder than it should be.   I can barely hear the actors talking sometimes.

(It appears to have been fixed at the halfway point).

Congrats on both NCIS spinoffs getting renewed.

At this point in my life I watch all modern TV shows and movies with the captioning on.  Funny thing is, if I watch an old show from the '60s I don't need the captions, everybody speaks clearly.

My husband and I joke that more and more of the shows are following the Keifer Sutherland method of speaking.  Like barely above a gruff whisper / mumble.  So annoying.

so true! I find that I can't watch any of the CW shows without CC on because no matter how high I turn up the volume, I still can't hear a damn thing they say. Arrow is by far the worst of the bunch.

It is amazing to me how much I've grown to like Gregorio and the actress playing her.  At the beginning, I absolutely couldn't stand the actress but wow, the writers and the actress have brought things along where she is a terrific addition and I like her relationship on the team.  Like Hurricane Val, I'm digging her friendship with Sebastian and having Gregorio there has brought him out in an interesting, delightful way.  I felt Sebastian used to be a bit of a side-note and now he's such a true character.  Well done, show and well done, Vanessa Ferlito.

After they confirmed that the villain (Wolf?) had bought 3 phones used as bomb triggers, someone said "There's only one question left" big pause "where is he?". Did anyone else besides me say (during the pause) "Where's the third bomb?" (to me 3 phones means 3 bombs)? Also, LaSalle reports to Pride that the shooter was Wolf with a rifle and he ran off and then he waits for Pride to actually say "go after him"!! And, what a bad shooter! Shoot on the left side (where the heart is) to kill your victim, not the right.

Unfortunately the most important question raised in this episode was never answered. Namely, did the victim's two friends get stuck with paying the $10,000 bar bill?

We wondered that too!  Along with why a bar in a tourist town wouldn't make him open a tab when he started ordering so much expensive stuff.  It wasn't like he was a known regular big spender.

funny because I am continuing to dislike both characters more and more.  At this point it's a contest between which character is dislike more.  Sebastian is winning at this point.  I still think it was an idiotic move to make that twit an agent.

Grilled cheese requires Velveeta. Yes, I know it’s processed. That’s what I was raised on and that’s what I want in a grilled cheese. American cheese for cheeseburgers.

An interesting episode.  I liked the filming of both groups of our guys being under attack at the same time, while they were on the phone, and the scenes shifted between the two.  A little bit artsy for this show though.

When Pride and LaSalle got off the plane carrying their royal blue bags, I thought they were only missing a maple leaf on the side - thirty seconds later they hope their "Canadian passports" will hold up to scrutiny.

I like him as an agent more than I thought I would, but for me he was TOTALLY out of line to harass the women hit by the bomb shrapnel to have a surgery that would be very risky.  With no guarantee what they recovered would actually be helpful or not.

I feel the same way. I could not stand her when she started on the show and now I like her and I also enjoy her interaction with Sebastian. Agree that she humanizes him and makes him a fuller character, too.

Just watching last night's episode. I wish this show would just do case-of-the-week episodes instead of these grandiose season-long dragged-out plots. If I never hear Pride breathe "Apollyon" again it will be too soon.

His harassment of that woman drove me crazy too. Then they say she's having the surgery and I don't remember anything related to it being mentioned for the rest of the episode.

I hated that too. It was her life on the line, not his.  But she did agree to the surgery and they got the piece of whatever it was which had a serial number on it, so it did help them.

Why does this show insist on beating the hell out of Pride? Every season he nearly gets killed. And how many times do we have someone from Washington “take over the team?” Gee, writers  — there are other angles!!!

I did like Rita dancing. Wow!

I totally agree about Pride getting whomped on every season.  Although the others on the team get their share, I guess. I didn't guess that the Homeland woman was the double-agent.  I believed her when she seemed upset about what had happened to her earlier team and thought that it was someone else in her group who was the mole.

I did like Rita dancing. Wow!

According to imdb.com, she was a Solid Gold dancer in the early '80s (at least for a brief time). Bakula did pretty well too. I did like the fact that the season ended with the team having some fun without some type of last-minute crisis coming up or someone getting shot, blowed up, or run over!

I saw Joanna Cassidy's name in the credits and kept waiting for her to show up.  I had begun to think I had mis-read the name when suddenly there she was (in one of the fakiest looking fake wigs I've ever seen. Maybe it was on purpose, though, since she was an hallucination).

I thought that the season finale exemplified all the worst tendencies of the show.  Once again the super bad secret society story is dragged out. Once again Pride is severely injured in the finale.   Once again Pride hallucinates.  Now it's his daughter.  Now it's his girlfriend.  Now it's his mother.  Once again only the bad guys are killed;  the good guys are unscathed by a hail of bullets from all directions.  Once again Pride recovers,  from days of being pumped full of drugs,  in a short time with no aftereffects.  Once again, agents from a rival federal agency arrive in the nick of time to save our team's lives.

To be fair, I don't remember seeing before a character being held near death in a deep coma.  But wait! It's nothing new.  One quick shot of adrenaline and he's good to go.  What a waste of great actors like C C Pounder, and the wondrous setting of New Orleans.

I hope the cast gets paid well. Otherwise, why stay in a show where you get a minute or two of screen time if your character isn’t Pride, Tammy, Sebastian, or Hannah? When was the last time Chris was on for more than 3 scenes?

I agree with the previous thoughts on this season's two part finale. I never really watched the original NCIS and only became interested in NCIS: LA about a year before NCIS: NO started. I've been wondering why Chris has barely been seen in any episodes until these last two after the tax story related to his Father's business ended. I'm bordering on being as sick and tired of Pride as I got to be with Nia Long's character Shay Moseley on LA that ate that show alive for a good bit of the time she was on there.

I'm hoping this show may finally get it's shit together after all the upheaval behind the scenes this season. If I wanted to watch a show that started off as an ensemble one for the most part start to revolve around one character I'd still be watching L&O: SVU.

Finally finished up this show watching back to back episodes of River Styx 1 & 2.  Well, at least they didn't kill of Issler, who I always enjoy when he's part of the show.  If they are going to kill off anybody, please let it be Pride!   And somebody in the writers' room is really into torture porn when it comes to Pride!  Who appears to be some sort of super hero who can take a lickin and keep on tickin (rolls eyes here).   And not only gets the crap beaten out of him and injected with various truth serums but then seemingly only hours later - can get up and boogie at the bar with his pals.

The show must have gotten a bigger budget with the end episodes as the entire gang was on board from Issler to the dreaded Angel of Death or whatever (Jessica Lang she ain't).  This season was better (or at least I found it more watchable) than last year's season and I hope that next year's will be better.  I had really enjoyed this show during it's first couple of years when Zoe McClennan (Ms. "Unfuckable" according to Len Moonves) was on and after they dumped her the writing just seemed to go to hell.   I really wish they'd just go back to the murder of the week and can the international Big Bad plots but unfortunately, that seems to be the way these NCIS shows have been going.

I agree with you about the international big bad plots.   Even though I adore Mark Harmon that's one reason I gave up watching the original NCIS (that and Tony's exit).

I disagree about killing off Pride though.   My choice would be Hannah.

Well, this episode killed my liking for Hannah.  They should have just fired her ass.  And she was so lying to Pride that she didn't know what that fellow was talking about, re her previous behaviour.

Also didn't care for Gregorio jumping to Hannah's defense, since Hannah was wrong in the first place.

But, the setup is now what they were going for - Pride back in charge of the team and Hannah just a demoted member of the team.
