i didn't realize this was the last season but I sure had my suspicions after the most recent episode.   lol

Oh Ben will get to be a Dr. again.   They have been all over the place with him, making it seem like that Testosterone was some dangerous drug.    And  I don't know that much about it but i thought when he told  Miranda, she would be clear about any side effects and risks.   But it appears there are none.   lol

Ben has always annoyed me.

I don't see why they needed to kill off  Maya but i suppose it makes for better drama on Greys, to see  Karina struggle , or maybe she won't be allowed to adopt or something.

I don't need the misery. One thing I liked about this show was that it wasn't always misery. They went through stuff, but it never felt like an orgy of angst.

The current set up reeks of carnage. I don't watch Grey's because of bullshit like this.

So disappointing.

I happened to see this episode the other night. I was confused by the map the firefighters were using because I live in this area. I don't know why a map would have an area labelled "Klahanie" (a neighborhood / community) and Issaquah (a real city) but not include actual cities like Redmond, Sammamish (which encompasses Klahanie), Bellevue or the very significant Lake Washington that lies between Seattle and the East Side (where Klahanie and Issaquah are).

Obviously, TV and movies make free with geography for the sake of the plot, but this seemed really gratuitous. That map looked either completely fictional or was created 40 years ago.

As soon as they started playing that sad music and they were cutting between Maya in the fire and Carina getting her pregnancy results, I was like "Well, RIP Maya" but I didn't think they would actually do it! I know this show is always ready to kill major characters, but killing off Maya just as Carina finally gets pregnant not only feels cruel, it makes all of the time we've spent on this fertility stuff feel like a big waste of time. I don't think they'll kill both Maya and Ruiz, I am guessing that Ruiz gets an injury that ends his career and he follows Vic to DC, but things don't look good for Maya.

Is this how the show ends? Everyone severely injured, moving away, or dead? Right as Andy finally becomes captain? What a downer.

Ben has his 15th midlife crisis and now wants to be a doctor again, ending up right where he started. Sounds about right.

I’m waiting for the consequences for him taking T to play out, probably over at Grey’s.   He felt great, but the underlying issue was still there and he probably made it worse because he overdid it.

I really thought this show was better than "kill the lesbian, the second she's truly happy" trope (yes, Maya is bi, but still, it applies here). I hope it's a misdirect, and I really thought it was, until I heard that music. And now I still hope it's a misdirect but am not optimistic.

Wow and not in a good way.

Spoiler

I feel cheated.  No one died and Warren made the predictable career change.

Didn't that one female firefighter who had a bad attitude during the season and switched to the private company die when the tornado slammed her into the building?  Or was she okay?

Yeah, bad attitude woman died. They never actually checked her to be sure, but it was implied that it was obvious.

I was glad nobody else died. Life is shitty enough; I was glad to be wrong and they didn't do what I had thought they were foreshadowing.

It was a sappy ending, but I really loved this show and was very sad iit was cancelled, so I am glad they didn't torture me with misery porn on the way out.

I actually think a show about Crisis One would be a good show. They could show teams operating in different cities, have Vic training and visiting/consulting, doing whatever she does in various cities. Meanwhile, Travis is doing whatever he's doing. Either working with her, or getting a job of his own.

I guess Ben goes back to Grey's. I'm sad that the other characters look like they'll be buried. I guess Maya could show up as Karina's wife, like Miranda showed up on Sta 19 as Ben's.

I wonder if the other actors wanted out, or if the network decided for them.

You are right.  I forgot about her because it was barely shown…I guess they wanted to kill someone who wasn’t important to the show.

I watched this show on and off, but for the most part I followed it.  I watched the series finale just to see if Andy and Jack end up together, and I guess they do?  It wasn't a bad way to wrap up the show, with the ambiguous flash forwards.  It's a shame that it ended; at this point, it was better than Grey's.

I'm sad that this show was canned while Greys continues to amble on like a zombie. It certainly wasn't a perfect show, it could really annoy me, but I overall it was a good show and I will miss it and the characters. It would be nice if some of the cast showed up on Greys to see how they are doing, but since I don't watch Greys I will just have to leave it to my imagination. I guess the flash forwards

It feels pretty cheap and kind of silly that they found a way to tease the possible death of just about every major character, complete with possible happy flashforwards and sad music, but I'm glad that everyone survived and seem to be going in a good direction. I was hoping for a few more surprises, of course Andy survived and eventually becomes fire chief, of course Ben goes back to medicine, of course Carina gets pregnant, but I prefer that than ending on a depressing or pointless note.

Its like the show realized that somebody had to die but didn't want to kill anyone actually important, so say goodbye to shit starting firefighter girl. You died as you lived, a pointless background character that nobody liked.

So does this mean Jack and Andy end up together? I would have liked to see more of them getting back together, but I would be happy with that.

I can't remember why Andy and Jack broke up way back in season whatever it was when they broke up.

He had an engagement ring and she found it but he wasn't actually proposing yet, and then they had a stupid fight where she said she wasn't ready?  I think they briefly flashed back to that last night, too, but I'm not 100% sure.

I was looking for a hint about them being together in that final flash forward where Andy had bad hair. But I couldn't tell. I kind of hope they did though.

I think Andy and Jack broke up way back when because he wanted to be more serious than her. But didn't they get back together at some point and then break up again because they both wanted to be captain? Or because he slept with Maya?

I am glad no one important died and got a happily ever after and that at least some of the team stayed at 19. And I am happy that Travis followed Vic to DC.

For some reason I can no longer access Hulu so I haven't been able to watch the last few episodes (hoping to catch them sometime in the future).  I appreciate you all keeping me up to date on what's happening.  Sorry to see this show end but kind of happy that Jack and Andy potentially end up together.

Huh. Thanks for the refresher. I didn't remember that at all! I thought the ring scene in the finale was a flashforward, not a flashback!

It was both - we see them both wearing their uniforms and kissing (that's the flashback) and then we see Andy's flashforward self going towards them, she reaches for the box with the engagement ring and Jack appears behind her in civilian wear (so obviously Jack in the flashforward) and says that they messed it up and then they kiss so, it was obvious, to me, that they ended up together and I'm glad about that. Yeah, the ending was a bit soppy, I hated the whole "station 19 is super special and we're all one big, happy family" stuff and, although the show annoyed me at times, I'm sad to see it go.
