It seems as though Chris is getting more and more unglued.  His interrupting is increasing and he is quite testy with the guests.

I'm not sure if she qualifies as a "talking head"...but a couple years ago, over the Christmas holidays, one night Chris had his wife, Katherine Matthews (former news anchor for the ABC affiliate in Washington DC) on as a guest.  It was incredibly bizarre.  She was interviewing him, asking for his opinions about current events (and you know he was in his glory that evening, babbling away, pontificating left & right--it was a sight to behold!).  Before she left her job at the ABC station, she was really one of the best anchors in DC and was/still is highly respected.  She must love her husband an awful lot to do something as inane as that appearance on his show.  Good thing for her it was during that lull on TV between Xmas & New Years Eve when no one's watching much TV!

I saw that "interview."  Kathleen Matthews worked at WJLA in DC for many years, and I thought she was quite good and professional in her job--unlike her husband.

Last night on the John Oliver program, they spliced together a ton of Tweety's mentions of Tip.  I was laughing so hard, I couldn't catch my breath.

It would be classy if Tweety shows it himself on Sideshow.

Last night, he was going on and on about how ISIL is purposely trying to get our goat, inciting us to attack them and, by implication, we shouldn't fall for it. And then he rails about Americans being beheaded, how we can't let them get away with that, and that ISIL members could make it to our shores -- like Oregon for instance (?) -- kidnap one of us and chop off our head. He reacts in the very manner to which he's saying we shouldn't react! (So glad this guy is no longer working in government -- not that he'd ever be let anywhere near the Situation Room, if he were.)

I just caught the end of show tonight. Chris Matthews is a loon. He and three others were talking about Monica Lewinsky. At the end of the conversation, Matthews says that Hillary Clinton should have coffee with Lewinsky to get past this. I am thinking, "what a nutjob" as on of the panelist blurts out, "are you crazy?" Bwah! Put out, Chris responds, "no I am normal." That guy will probably never be back on the show, but damn he nailed it.

Chris keeps mentioning that the live cameras are ahead of the reporting at the San Bernardino incident. Over and over. Like 6 times. Why is it so shocking that a live camera would be ahead of the reporting?

In his own defense he said he had it in his head because Trump said it in the clip they just played, although it was bleeped out in the clip.

Chris can be so annoying in his awe over strong-man Trump (I think these kinds of men remind CM of his father--he always seems so eager to please around them--though he DID interrupt Trump, per usual, which was amusing. )

 

But, that said, I wish Hillary's people would take his advice-- stop trying to compete over being a "Progressive", and instead embrace being a moderate Democrat competing against a socialist with unrealistic tax and health care goals and little interest in foreign policy v. his consuming interest--income inequality.

 

She should emphasize her idealism and stop trying to be "a progressive"  Also someone pointed out that many young women find it  irritating to hear her try to brand herself as relatable because she's a mother and grandmother. I'm not young, but I find that very contrived, too. So many things I wish she'd change, but I'm assuming her consultants are promising it will work.  (Instead, she continues to feed Bernie's narrative that she's "canned" and inauthentic).

Chris Matthews is full of shit Hillary still isn't promising "free" Matthews, when she does that, then I'll say she's piggy backing Sanders. Nope, she sounds just like the pragmatic candidate that I've supported from day one. And she better not promise anything free either cause I'll call bullshit on that message every time. Of course millennials like free, this is the generation of  "lets give everyone a  participation award"  (eye roll).  The generation where they've been told that everything they do is spectacular, no one ever tells them that they just suck, cause we all can suck at times, LOL.  Tip toeing around them afraid to offend/damage their "fragile" sensibilities. Yet this fool Matthews wants her to adopt that message? For what ? Excitement, whatever.  Please, addressing income inequality is not new to her message sorry, I'm not hard of hearing at all, she covers it time and time again. She's been talking about college debt/affordability. T he plans are explained in detail on her website and they didn't just upload the information yesterday you idiot. I mean what is she supposed to do?  Promise shit she can't deliver...people already think she's a liar, but your advice is that she do just that with regard to the legislation she will be able to have a chance to push through. If you'd STFU and stop talking over people your ability to listen carefully would improve. Whatever Spitter, keep spitting out bullshit.

Chris rushes to Trump's defense all the freaking time! He's so quick to dismiss the tax thing, when "they're auditing me" actually makes no sense. Sorry, Chris. I actually -do- think his tax returns are important and I'm especially interested in what he writes off. Also in, as Romney said, if he actually donates much at all to veterans and the disabled. I've read that he doesn't.

 

And about the veterans, is anyone ever going to ask when he's giving that nearly-$7 million he raised "for vets" rather than going to the Fox debate? I read of one group who got $100k, but nothing about the rest (and that's kind of peanuts from that amount--much less than 5% interest it could earn). Folllow the money? Yes, Chris. I'd really like to know!

Matthews is full of shit, he's a pathetic fanboy. He truly wants to think that he's fair minded and I think he really wants to be, but he's not.

 

He reports on this nativism that appeals to Trump supporters and not enough on how racist it comes off to those black voters he interviewed on the streets of Vegas, and every other minority group that he's offended.  He'll never have the Muslim community/social worker that Chris Hayes has had on his show multiple times who says that Trump doesn't scare her half as much as the Americans who are showing up to rally and vote for him. This "journalist," Matthews, will never have her on and tell that side, point of view.  He is just tickled pink at any and everything that comes out of Trump's mouth.

 

Trump doesn't make me think of how great my country is, he's someone that I'd like to ship over the border to Mexico. I don't feel the fellow American vibe at all with Trump and Matthews needs to earn his damn  paycheck and report on this voter as much as he reports on the Trump voters. 

 

He doesn't, he just doesn't and that's a fact.

 

His reporting is 2% if that much the other point of view and 98% the point of view of Trump supporters. 

 

But he devotes at least 25% to the point of view that hates the "evil, untrustworthy" Hillary Clinton, whatever.

 

And if he and his annoying ass mostly white male colleagues keep asking why black voters like myself are supporting Clinton after the campaign she ran against Obama....It's a fucking broken record every last one of them from Todd to Kornacki continue to ask this question and it's been answered. 

If these jackasses think that I'm dumb enough to believe that Bernie or any other Republican candidate are so much more better when it comes to giving a shit about black folk over Clinton, please.

 

And it's not that I believe she loves us either, but I don't need her love me.  WTH?  I have a mother/grandmother. What I need is someone who is about policy and has proven they can actually make deals and sit down and break bread with the enemy in order to move legislation. That's Clinton, period.

Proportional wins need to remain. The proportional distribution of delegates has actually helped Bernie.

The press is picking on your boyfriend, your "girl" crush, and you can't take it.  Matthews reminds me of that George Costanza on Seinfeld when he was crushing on Elaine's boyfriend with the perfect face, but he was a moron so Jerry called him a mimbo.  George was pathetic, yet funny. On the other hand, there is nothing funny about Matthews' crush on an orange, haired chimp, nothing funny about it at all.

Ha, he had  Denis O'Hare on, brought to mind one of my all time favorite scenes from HBO's True Blood.  

Horrific and equally hilarious was when his character, Russell Edgington tore out the heart of the news anchorman on the evening news. 

Then he went on to keep it real with the American people as to what his vampire kind were really all about and how insignificant human kind was...

I actually remember President Obama asking the press at a conference that week if they had seen True Blood last night. 

Good stuff.

Warren is a firehouse, and all these commentators can focus on is the minor lines of the speech that made fun of Trump.   He's a loser who puts his family's fake, made up name on things and cheats people out of their money. 

Meanwhile, the whole point of her speech is that our judicial system is under siege by the likes of McConnell and his friends. And yes, Matthews, and the "Pulitzer Prize" winner Robinson, the Orange Haired chimp is just another puppet.

This has been the media's problem from the get go, putting this primate on some pedestal as if he belongs, he doesn't. He should be covered by the press in a mocking fashion for the buffoon he portrays himself to be.

Good Lord, I tried to watch this tonight.  Tom Delay!  Really?  Was this the only person they could find?  I switched to CNN but there was someone on there who was worse.  Back to Hardball... they brought out two guys, one is a Democratic strategist...don't know who the other guy was, but he made Delay look calm and almost palatable in comparison.  Chris lectured the guy on not answering the questions and continually going to his B.S. talking points...lectured him a couple of times.  But did he turn off his mike?  Of course not...he went on and on.  So I switched to CNN - was treated to Corey Lewandowski (sorry, probably spelled wrong)...  Is it me, or do most of the Republican hacks on MSNBC far outnumber the Democratic ones?  I can't believe MSNBC and Hardball can keep ratings up when the talking heads are screaming, gloating, being sarcastic, etc.  Is it just me?

I did giggle at the "Tell me something" segment, when the final panelist started to talk about Ohio, Tweety got distracted and was about to wrap up the segment, but the panelist said, "But I didn't get to my point yet," causing the other two panelists to laugh in commiseration  and Chris to let the guy finish.
