I would be surprised if he sees Sonja as a sad older woman. Sonja is a very attractive and sexy woman. I'm sure she pleases her partner. Sonja is in it for the fun, ego stroke and hot sex. I would imagine the young man is in it for the exposure, career opportunities and the hot sex. I do feel for Sonja's daughter, I would think having a very public cougar mother could be embarrassing for a young teen.

Haven't passed by Sonja's townhouse in a while cuz I stopped taking the subway for a bit.  But I just passed by tonite.  Kinda weird.  The place was totally pitch dark.  And yet all of her windows on the second floor were wide open.  Er, huh?  It's kinda cool out tonite & there were curtains (looked like some kind of fraying drapes) blowing thru the wide open windows.  Well, it is Friday nite.  I'm wondering if Sonja was in such a hurry to rush over to Beautique & get those available rentboys before sex addict Lu grabs 'em all first & wears them out in the restrooms there, that the poor thing forgot to close her windows.

She's prided herself on being the hostess with the mostest, yet I'm racking my brain to think of something she's hosted at her townhouse since the bankruptcy became public. Sure, she's had people over here and there, but some of the visits took place outside (Aviva and Cody, Kristen and the facialist).

 

I think I may have said this before, when Scoobs has mentioned passing by and seeing open windows…I'm surmising that Sonja's got a big mildew issue. She sustained a bit of water damage during Sandy (it was shown on camera) and I bet she never had any work done to take care of the damage…or, maybe she did and the damp smell still lingers. (Hence the open windows.) The fact that she hasn't had any parties at the townhouse makes me think the townhouse is in worse shape than we realize.

Passed by Sonja's townhouse Friday nite & man, it's been sooo cold here, I was glad to see her windows were finally all closed.  Lights were on in the windows on the 3rd floor.  But the rest of the place was pitch dark.  So maybe Sonja was . . .  er, "entertaining"?  Made me feel a bit sad for her cuz all the other townhouses on the block were totally dark.  Guess the fancy rich peeps with dough ain't in the city now.  Poor Sonja.  She is out of bankruptcy, but that doesn't mean she has spare dough to travel.  Well, maybe Satan Andy gives her enough dough for her to throw at the rentboys at Beautique.  Guess it could be worse.  At least she still has the townhouse.

 

Btw, there is major construction going on right across from Sonja's townhouse.  The street in front is reduced to one lane & there are cars honking at all hours.  It must be noisy as heck all the freakin' time.  Sounds awful to me.  Poor Sonja.  Hopefully those rentboys are keeping her entertained.

Sonja has spent a lot of time mocking other people (Cindy Barshop, even though she wasn't much liked; Kristen, and commenting on Josh's douchebaggery in a cruel way).  She's just a mean coke whore.  There's nothing more to her.  She's all buzzed and flitting around parties until someone dares point out she milked a rich dick for her career, or that her businesses (which sound like they were invented during a series of benders) might be less than functional -- and no one said anything much about her cracky businesses until she was filmed slamming their businesses and snarking about things being 'for the masses, not the classes.'  

 

Her poor daughter.    Her dad's super old compared to her peers, and her mom needs a snatch guard and Hazelden.  Not fun.

I wonder how much of it they actually renovated?  Because unless she had two entire frats as live in interns, that place got real dated and worn real fast.  Wear and tear can quickly get out of control, but I remember when Luann was there to visit and we saw several rooms; the most I think we have seen of the entire place.  And some of it looked really really shabby.

I think there is a lot more joie de vivre in Tipsy Girl than Skinny Girl.  Coke is more fun to be around than Adderall.

I checked out Sonja's clothing site, and it looks like they must be winding it down.  They never added new product to the rather limited offerings in the original line (maybe a couple bathing suits, or some of the jewelry, but most of it is the same clothing offered a year ago), and at this point, about half of it is marked "sold out."  The rest of the clothes are on sale for half off.

I've interned for college credit before and it's generally a semester-long gig...not three years! I'm assuming this was unpaid, too. I wonder if Sonja kept luring her back with promises of fabulous people she'd introduce Rachel to, how she'd expand her network, travel to St. Tropez, etc.

I think some of them do live with her or that was the impression I got. She has said that she knows some of their parents but not that these parents live in NY. Of course, I could have missed her saying that. Also, she has never mentioned the name of this school or what class/degree these kids are in to qualify for an internship position. She has been very, very vague about the entire thing and quickly changes the subject when asked about it. LOL

I'm not about to dig through five seasons of this show to find the exact episode, but I believe one of the kids was living in a NYC apartment that his parents own as a second property. He was Swiss or French I believe. Now that I think about it, I do recall she referred to a bedroom as the "intern's room" but she has 2-3 at a time so I'm not sure she's housing them all. It really doesn't matter though, room and board don't justify unpaid work. 

 

I hire assistants and interns on occasion so I know that it's messy business. Anyone can do it as long as their school offers an internship program and approves the job. It's basically like independent study but after the Black Swan lawsuit, we've all buckled down and most of us pay interns min wage to avoid backlash.  Everything about Sonja intrigues me but this internship program is fascinating. Where do I apply?

I've mentioned that before but she seems to have them off season so probably not the answer. Sonja's interns are quite the mystery.
