Yolanda Hadid: My Love, My Lemons, My Lyme Disease.

Recommended Posts

You guys made me laugh more than Vanderpump Rules tonight. That's saying something! ;)

"Sour Grapes, Bitter Lyme: The Victimization of Yolanda"

The Lifetime movie adaptation!

More great news for Yolanda: apparently Hollywood has already optioned the rights to her forthcoming autobiography/CD venture and they're making it into a big budget musical biopic called "Walk the Lyme," starring Reese Witherspoon as the devoted, Lyme-suffering wife to musical genius David Foster.

Can't stop laughing at this one.

Except Yolanda's the one with all the pills this time!

I also heard that like many authors, if her book is a success, she will branch out to do a children's book:

People online post reams of snark about people they don't even know - why shouldn't someone publish a book about their own experiences?

She is perfectly entitled to publish her book of experiences. Brandi did. Twice. Online people are also entitled to snark about people they don't know.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if I learned that Yolanda scoured the earth to find an anti-allergen, anti-Lyme makeup somewhere that could be mixed to her specifications.  Searching for that would give her a break from searching for Lyme treatments.  One thing seems certain:  If Yo found some, she'd market it and make a bundle.  And she'd probably name it after herself or one of her children.

I am picturing her spraying her home with a product called "Lymebegone". And it smells really nice.

You all are making me laugh and cry with your silly songs. They remind me of my aunt, who was so funny and creative. She rewrote half of the songs in "Sound of Music" to be about being a librarian and civil service. She would have loved your creations.

"Big fines on late books and all kinds of questions

Don't know what I want, have any suggestions?"*

*sung to "My Favorite things" Unfortunately that's all I remember.

Songs? Here's Yo's version of that famous ditty:

My Darling Lemontine

On a hillside, 'mongst the lemons,

'neath the sunny So Cal sky,

Lived the tick that

Made me sick, and

Gave me Lyme – my battle cry!

Pulled my fillings, lost my funbags,

Endless cleanses made me poop.

Yes, I'm loony,

O but soon-y,

I'll be beating Gwyneth's GOOP.

My condition's an audition

For the future I foresee.

With no glitches

I'll have riches:

Life and style maven me!

Unfortunately I think you may well be right.  I would love it if the preview was 'correct'...but we all know how the editing monkeys work.

I think this is absolutely editing. I cannot imagine that Lisa would throw Mohamed under the bus by saying something like that on National TV - unless of course he wanted that little tidbit out there - which I would find hard to believe. I have had a lot of criticism for Lisa over the years, but betraying something that he had told her in confidence, something which is extremely controversial and impacts Lisa not at all, it something I simply cannot imagine her ever doing. If she does do it, I think it would be horrific.

Another possible title, "Don't let Lyme's sour YOUR Outlook"

The book will have an accompanying CD where Yo will sing the some standards?

An example:

(Sung to the tune of "Signs")

Lyme's, Lyme's everywhere the Lyme's.

Clogging up my memory, degrading my mind

Cleanse this, don't cleanse that

Is that a lemon rind?

This is so awesome! You guys are killing it!!

I think Yolanda was embarrassed and that the email released was truly Yolanda's feelings at the time.  But I believe that Yolanda in retrospect wanted to give the public a reason why Bella *might* have made a dumb decision -- lyme disease.  She was already crashing, was suffering from the effects of LD!  So you see, she wasn't just some drunk!  And she hinted at Anwar having troubles in school right?  Lyme disease!

Maybe Gigi isn't wanting to be a part of the lyme disease trifecta.  Maybe Bella enjoys having that LD be implied as a contributing reason to her DUI.  DUIs are embarrassing.  Not to mention the apparent mess of her car (didn't the email mention tampons?).  What a great way to explain all that away. And Anwar's young enough that I'm sure if he's not doing well in school he's perfectly happy having his mom give him a reason for that.

I think this is right. I think that Yo was very embarrassed by what happened to Bella and the email that followed. It was one thing for her to have been out driving drunk, but the comments in that email made it very clear she was in some type of a downward spiral - at least as far as Yo was concerned.  The email painted a picture of a tortured girl, even just by the contents of her car.

I was in the minority because I thought that Yo handled the whole drunk driving deal well. Did she punish her enough? I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound like Yo took it lightly. I think it was all very hard for Yo, especially in light of her being the one to famously talk about drunk women being so disgusting. About how people should always be in control. Now here she was with this daughter doing the very thing that seemed to be the most horrendous according to Yo. I don't believe for one second that Bella and Anwar had been diagnosed at that point with Lyme. Had they been, I think that Yo would have trotted it out. Much was made last season about the fact that Yo was worried about how the DUI deal would be handled on the show. She apparently asked the others not to talk about it until she decided if she wanted to talk about it or not. Kyle and her family said nothing on the boat, and Kyle only did later in TH interviews after Yo had decided to address it. If it was so hard, why not talk about Bella's fight with Lyme at the same time? It makes no sense that she would share the private pain of Bella's arrest, including scenes with just herself and Bella where Bella apologized and gave her a sweet card promising to do better, and yet never mention that she was suffering from a disease.

I don't think she is mentally ill at all. I think she just had nutty ideas. I don't think she is making the kids sick on purpose, just like I don't think she was trying to make herself sick with the constant Master Cleanse nonsense. I just think she has crazy ideas about many things, including how one's body should look and feel, and how that body should be taken care of. I think she is a perpetual victim, and will always blame her failings (or those of her kids) on anything except something she/they might have done. At one point in this journey, some crazy doctor probably mentioned that teenagers suffering from Lyme are more prone to do dumb things. Yo said "a ha", and decided that Lyme must be the reason that Bella had decided to drive drunk. Not that she was denying that Bella was drunk, just that she determined that this must have been the reason for her bad decision making. After the S3 reunion, when Yo got all caught up in the whole deal about her talking poorly about Lisa in Paris, she declared that Kyle had tried to trip her up with her words, because she knew that Lyme Brain had made it hard for her to focus and gather her thoughts. I think she probably believes this must be the case with her kids as well, decided that it was around 2012 when they stopped acting perfect, and thus they must have what she has.

Hey gang,

I've been just reading the last couple of months...I think I had real housewives trauma from Crooksie Brooksie...YoMoFo swears that's a real disease.

Thanks for the laughs! Thank you to the poster who coined the new nickname WoeFo...I'm running with that one...

In all seriousness, I truly feel for Yolanda, as it is clear she truly has been ill. I, like many posters here, know how it feels to have a complicated illness and do believe not all doctors get it right. No one wants to struggle with their health and feel a prisoner in their own body.

However, I do agree, her inconsistencies and exaggerations make me scratch my head and doubtful that WoFo has a grip on her true status and reality.

First season, I liked her as she seemed confident, had good taste in decorating, and she brought the house candy. I started giving her the side eye when she started showing signs of being a mean girl. Her hearts on certain place cards when she claimed the title of dinner party Queen aka Martha Stewart of Beverly Hills?! She started the hate on LVP when they were in Puerto Rico with leading the charge of questioning her on magazine gate. She was nasty to Ken. Most telling, as others have noted, was her mean girl behavior towards Joyce at the reunion. I couldn't believe the way she turned her back on her and scoffed at her. "Who is Yolanda Foster in this world?" She definitely was playing both sides with Kyle, Kim & LVP in Paris as well. She's no innocent.

The other ladies asking questions is not a slam. Being a real friend doesn't mean you can't ask questions. Asking questions is not an attack. Gawd, these ladies are exhausting.

For some reason, I remember it as Ben Vereen was drunk and wandering around on the PCH. David wasn't drunk when he hit him if I remember correctly. Ben still cites that accident as a catalyst for seeking treatment and getting sober. Am I remembering that incorrectly?

After years of employment in the health care industry, seeing the implementation of the HIPPA/Privacy Laws concerning medical records/files and having a little experience with having to carry a FN infusion pump around for 6 weeks because I was stupid? I have a hard time feeling sorry for Yoyo because when you open the door to your house, you have to expect that people are going to track dirt on your floor?

Your health and whatever you go see a doctor for should be something kept private? I remember the days when people went to 'see the doctor'. Now? People don't have any problem with talking about treatments/surgeries that they may have had - it is almost as if they try to make THEIR suffering more than the next guy's.

YoFo has the name and the ability to put a spotlight on a disease that we are still trying to figure out and if she is going to be the 'face' of the disease, she needs to know that it is NOT ALL ABOUT HER. For every Yolanda Foster, Lyme patient?

There are thousands of people who don't have the means or even an insurance package, that would allow them to see an infectious disease specialist? I don't know what she has or the extent of her illness(es), But I have seen enough 'sick' people to know that most of them don't GAS about their makeup timetable.

They worry about getting better?

According to Bella, she was diagnosed her junior year in HS, which means a year before her DUI. Which makes it odd that she/Yolanda didn't say something then about Bella having LD, IF she really has it.

I just looked it up. Vereen had crashed his Corvette earlier that evening and was walking home - he passed the sobriety tests that the CHP gave him after the wreck.  The accident happened at about 3 a.m. in the morning and DF wasn't charged. The accident happened back in 92 - Those were the days when your name was good enough to get you off with a warning. I remember the crash because he had produced some music by my favorite bands and remember thinking he probably was effed up. I stand corrected.

Vereen had crashed his own car into a tree earlier that night, but he passed a sobriety test at the police station afterwards, and the police theory is he fell asleep at the wheel. Vereen doesn't remember that crash or the Foster crash. Foster said that both he and Vereen basically saw each other too late, tried to avoid a collision, but they both went the same way and collided. Foster stopped, rang 911 and stayed with Vereen until the ambulance arrived. There's nothing that suggests Foster was drunk.

No she never did even though, according to Bella, they knew she had LD at that point and would change how most parents would handle an ill child getting a DUI. One would still be upset but it would be more tempered and less judgmental than that letter Yolanda sent Bella. JMO

I haven't read the email and probably won't, but when is it from in relation to the way Yolanda talks about her own illness? I'm wondering if she's maybe reevaluating the past now based on how she's felt, so whereas before Lyme wouldn't be referenced when discussing a DUI, it's now part of the cause because Lyme is, at least according to Yolanda, all-consuming.

YUM!  I love those.

I had a little toy poodle, a rescue, who also had many health problems, but the sweetest personality.  She didn't wear clothes, but she would have if I wanted that, and she didn't have issues with the sun irritating her skin.  We would go for walks all the time, but she did poop out after a while.  She'd try to keep walking, usually back up the hill, just to please me, but it was obvious those little legs were pooped.  She'd give me tons of kisses and his tail would wag so hard when I picked her up to carry her home.  She liked walking, but she adored being carried back.

We've seen Ken out on the lawn with Giggy walking in past years.  He probably prefers the grass to walk on.  He's getting older though, and like my little poodle, probably can only do so much, especially given his health issues.  I can completely get not seating a dog with his issues on rattan, it would probably be irritating to his skin.  As for hanging out pretty much all the time with Ken or Lisa?  My poodle would have been in HEAVEN if I never had to leave her to go to work, and I usually did put her in my purse (not a dog purse, just my regular purse) to go shopping if I'd worked all day and been away from her.

As for the horse?  That woman was a shyster, anyone with eyes could see that horse had more issues than just being lame.  I think her entire operation was shut down a few months later.  I've been around the mini-horses, and none of them looked like that.  I don't blame Lisa one bit for walking away from that horse.  Anyone with sense would.  She knew Ken would become emotionally involved and so would Lisa, but at the end of the day, I'd put down a bit of money to be that any reputable vet would say it was better for the horse to be put down.  Sometimes that is the kindest thing.  Lisa didn't want to face that, and neither did Ken.

ElDosEquis, what you have expressed in your post is superlative.

Since last season, when I began expressing my disgust and discontent with Yolanda, this seemingly unacknowledged good fortune of endless healthCARE disturbs and, yes, at times, angers me. The multitude of suffering with little or no access/ability to Care--that includes those with Lyme disease-- is both sorrowful and infuriating. And, to see Yolanda glorying in her supposed ill health is...

(sigh) Until Next Time Folks...

He also said he will never discuss any of his five children at a restaurant again. Sounds like his close friendship with LisaV is strained.

Can anyone please confirm that Bella said she was diagnosed junior year of high school? I'm almost certain she said that in an interview but Yo is claiming now in her blog that both children were diagnosed in 2013, which would be the middle of Bella's senior year. She also writes that Bella gave up a professional riding career and shot at the Olympics - wasn't the last year that Bella achieved a national ranking in 2011 (and maybe the only year)? She also writes that it is common for entire families to become afflicted with Lyme. Don't believe the department of health, guys; it's got nothing on Dr. Yo.

Ugh.  I won't open that link either because I've no desire to see a tray full of extracted teeth.

She needs to just stop.  Her credibility is in the toilet.  I've no doubt she's very sick - in the head and in the body.  She needs to go away and enjoy all her lovely money and watch her children evolve into (hopefully) healthy adults.  I know she's a loon but I feel sorry for loons, too.

Those women are not her friends.  On that, Yolanda was spot on.

I agree that Mo was very Switzerland in that statement. But the part about talking in a restaurant seemed like a swipe at Lisa, sort of "she's a woman with whom am I friendly, who owns a restaurant I frequent and not a close friend " making it clear he did not discuss this in his or her home. Such an odd choice of words. He had advanced notice this was coming and I'm sure his words were parsed carefully so why mention a restaurant ?

Review of facts we know:  Lyme is hard to diagnose.  It is often misdiagnosed with those who have it and those who do not.  There is no definitive test that has more than 30% accuracy.

I think Mo knows this and is not sure his kids have it anymore that we do.  I think he knows about the treatments they are getting and feels certain that they are in no harm.   He is wisely staying out of the fray.  He knows Yo's treatments are questionable and that she has a hyper-vigilance on health matters.   He knows anything he says to Lisa will be aired on TV, thus saying his kids are fine.  Little did he know that Lisa would take that to mean they do not have LD!  LOL!

Instagram is weird -in a day some celebrities followers go up by a million followers.

Before the men see the photo how about her agency that employs her or the products whose image she might grace?  It seems as if little Miss Egg Whites and Almonds, except when she decides to convince us she is eating a pound of bacon for lunch, is tired of working.  It was easy to throw in the towel in her riding career now it is time to make people understand how hard it is for the poor little sick girl to work.

I guess she is 'monitoring' what the interwebz thinks and just keeps putting info out there for everyone to see?

Getting your medical records/scans/x-rays released isn't a huge problem, you sign and form and pay whatever they charge you.

Photos of teeth and traveling silicone doesn't prove you have Lyme, neither does having an IV needle butterflied to your arm.

I am not a doctor, but I spent a little time in healthcare and have seen NOTHING that confirms she had undergone ANY treatment for Lyme - vitamin C injections and a closet full of bottles are an artfully crafted ruse to get you to believe something is happening there.

There is NO WAY on the planet that someone could stockpile that many drugs without breaking the law. And if they WERE legitimate drugs, she would have to have been doctor shopping in order to put that amount away. Her closet reminded me of the areas the pharmacy would keep on the patient floors.

The pharmacy had a small room on each floor where they hold the prescriptions for the patients, they would dispense just enough for each patient stay, along with a selection of regular pills/medications that they might need...

After years of employment in the health care industry, seeing the implementation of the HIPPA/Privacy Laws concerning medical records/files and having a little experience with having to carry a FN infusion pump around for 6 weeks because I was stupid? In an 11 day period I saw all these docs - internal medicine, surgeon, ortho surgeon, foot specialist, infection control doctor and missed out on an OB/Gyn..

Yo has yet another blog claiming she has nothing to prove.  Well she kind of does.  She cannot continue to call people ignorant and withhold her findings. I would like to see one sheet of lab work where she has a positive test for Lyme Disease that is accepted by the medical community.  In her never ending series of selfies, she has a photo of herself proving she is doing the research https://www.instagram.com/p/5iAmxhIswM/?taken-by=yolandahfoster  if Yolanda can't read what good does it do for her to "do the research".  So many contradictions.

I embrace HIPAA but I have a hard time with the selective use YO has employed. If one were really concerned they had Lyme Disease and living in Malibu or one of the many areas in California that have zero cases of LD a year-would it not be more helpful to show what test was used to finally diagnose it?  Most people do not have the money to go to docs and hacks and have endless guesses made about their health.

It also irks me that Yolanda says they went into her chest cavity to remove silicone.  They just didn't nor would they enter from the breast pocket.  We saw where the doc was cutting.  There are ribs you have to get through in the breast area.

Any breast implant is place either under the skin -epidermis or under the pectoral muscles. In order for the silicone to travel INTO HER chest cavity, It would travel between her rib and past the layers that encase her lungs, heart etc....Had they needed to go into her chest they would have had to have cracked her ribcage.

She is full of FN shiat.....Also, her claim that HER operation/situation was the worst the doctor has ever seen was funny.

-------

Perusing books and literature - and posing for photos while doing it - does nothing for any disease. IF anything? It gets you even MORE paranoid and every symptom you come across manifests itself in your mind. I was a medical record clerk and read 1000's of reports, histories, operating and discharge reports and it got to the point where I needed to stop reading, I was making myself sick.

Her so -called research is nothing more than fodder for her next gala fund raiser.

Well I like her white jeans.  A very elegant "uniform".  She has an awesome body and whatever her illness is, she's stunning.  She could make the top half more flattering though.

At this point, I don't think that even YOU can sort out all the fallacies.
