The fickle finger of FF struck in a big way with yesterday's episode. I won't watch Christmas anything out of season--in fact, I can barely endure anything Christmas-themed during the season. Call me the Grinch, and I'll wear it proudly.

Unfortunately, I'm not remotely enjoying most of these episodes. A few with earlier versions of Traci, Jill, Gloria, [let's slide Bobby Marsino in there] and my beloved John and Katherine, I can take because I mainly watch for character; plots don't really interest me in most cases.

For me, enduring these episodes just amplifies the awful "cut-off" feeling that our current place in time surrounds us with.

I've never been so grateful for DOOL's shooting schedule.

I know this is a joke but tbh, I sure hope the three month break has given the producers time to come up with new ideas besides more triangles among the same people who should all hate one another. Nikki's robe was a lovely shade of blue on her. 

Awww, Reeed! I loved young Reed and was really sad when they soras'd him. 

Billy Miller looked wonderful in this episode. And he and AH had nice chemistry.

Wow, I really liked yesterday's episode. 

Traci trying to commit suicide was really well done. I had no idea Traci was pregnant with another child before Colleen. I assume she loses it?

Danny was so sweet with Traci. I loved him stepping up and offering to marry her. I wasn't aware Danny and Traci had been such good friends. Also, Danny looked super hot in this episode, lol. I think I'm crushing hard, hahaha. 

I want to know what happens and I hate that we won't get a resolution tomorrow, damn it.

So this was the introduction of Cricket.  I thought it was hilarious when Tracey asked, who are you? But then immediately starts calling her Cricket after that, like she had know her forever.

And no one was smart enough to call 911?  And Tracey is pregnant.

I posted about today’s episode on the Chat thread but suffice, I really liked Danny and Traci together. 

While they married for the sake of her unborn baby, they did develop real feelings and we will never know what might have happened had Patty, Danny’s old girlfriend, not intervened and caused Traci to miscarry (yep, she killed TWO of Traci’s kids). 

I’m probably alone here but I loved the Victor/Cora storyline.

Whoa! The way Paul just punched Isabella with full force was truly shocking to watch given that she wasn’t coming at him or anything. Yes, she is unstable and she tried to kill Cricket but there was no cause for that kind of coldcock right across the jaw.

Oh, maybe I should take it back. She just walked in the bathroom with a butcher knife. Maybe he just doesn’t throw a good punch.LOL 

other thoughts about this episode (July 2): Victoria’s hair is soooo blonde! Nikki’s hair is sooooo early 2000s. Keith Hamilton Cobb is always welcome on my screen. Paul was working out in the early 2000s. Look at those guns!

I have no doubt that they are milking the Eva Longoria episodes, but I love it.

Drinki looks so much better with a short do.  Same with KKL on the Bold and the Beautiful.  Someone, somewhere put out an edict that women must have long hair.  And the soaps subscribe to that. Long hair is not always the best look.  Apparently men love women with long hair. 🙄 Not sure I believe that.

Ah, cute little Christian leBlanc did the intro for yesterday's CDN--and--he was sporting the new hair!

I watched that part... And then between FF arrows, I noticed somebody was doing a bad job with Eileen Davidson's hair. The Swoosh was in good form and that was about it.

Okay, I actually watched what were two episodes edited together...mostly.

Mood-wise and in terms of the show's texture, those opening exteriors of the truck on undistinguished streets jolted me. But I was also kind of freaked by the stock quality--clean and clear; I guess the tapes have been remastered when digitized.

And yeah, peaches, you can see the difference in late-60s live-to-tape stuff like Dark Shadows and the 70s colour stuff where the cameras and stock were so much more expensive--didn't ABC switch to Chroma Key because of sports broadcasting?

For those who're reading Her Story, the opening shots with yer tortured male are right there in her chapter on 70s archetypes--apparently Bill Bell got right in there from the get-go with that character type. I never mind a tortured male myself, but that's another issue...

And then, William Grey Espy? Why did I think he was hot? Taste really is dubious, isn't it? I actually only saw him on AW somewhat later, but still...shaking the head...

Since we won't get to see the subsequent ep, my burning question is:  does Michael attack Christine looking the way he did in today's ep?  All dirty and sweaty and crazed?  I didn't remember it this way, it is much creepier than I remember.

And then she eventually gets engaged to this guy?!

Everything about today’s classic episode was peak 1993: Katherine’s satin dress and OTT shoulder pads, Jill’s entire get-up including the matching leather gloves, Dru’s wedding gown, Liv’s pink bridesmaid outfit and padded headband, Lynne’s no-nonsense asexual business suit, Cricket’s hair. It took me right back to my first year of my undergrad. I’ve od’d on nostalgia.

Michael is truly unhinged. He scared the crap out of me back then and I think I wished for his actual demise.

Friday's ep was highly entertaining. Really old, Terry Lester era.  And it seems Gina was smitten with him?

Lauren sent Paul's naked photo to a publication without his knowledge.  It gets published and Church Lady shows it to Mary, while a female cop posts it at the police station where Paul's dad sees it. Paul is oblivious and is having lunch with the Mayor who just appointed him to a anti-porn commission!

There was some Victor/Matt/Nikki/Julia/Ash stuff that was kind of boring but the other stuff was great! Oh and a very young Brad, with a mullet.

And I have no memory of this Daniel that was on before MG.

Lily and NoteverBilly in the park conducting interviews on some stupid pretext about Katherine? The Lily phone shots that set up all the flashback clips did involve the cast standing a bit apart from each other. I guess someone thought it would be a cute bridge episode--and Jack and possibly others kept repeating lines about "It's still Genoa City, and people come and go, but etc., etc." Authors' message?

OTOH, for the first time that I can recall, something was off with MTS' hair.

You can tell this was filmed during the pandemic. Everyone stood outdoors for the most part and 2 meters apart. The only characters actually touching and kissing were Devon and Elena who are dating in real life. 

Vicky and Nikki's make up were horrible and it looked like they styled themselves. Nikki looked like a bad wig dropped on her head and she forgot to smooth it down. 

Lots of flashbacks to minimize having to film together. 

And while this was supposed to be about Catherine, it seemed to be more about asking the Newman's about Adam and their crap.

Lily looked nice at least. 

I missed the old vintage episodes, though. Those I watched, this I kept zoning out and wanting to play on my phone.
