Because there are rules which are laid out during training camp. Cassie of all people should understand that. You don't get to break rules you think are stupid, sexist, or outdated. Doesn't matter how old she is. If the rules are "no drinking alcoholic beverages while traveling with the squad" then don't. Don't do it an then decide it's ok because you're Judy's kid and you're special. Nothing is more toxic to an organization than having super strict rules that don't apply to everyone.

Okay saw the tag and read this stuff about Cassie.  Wow if true.  Major favoritism.  How she got back on the team after that is insane - and she was GL!  At least they should have said okay, you can finish this season out, but don’t you dare come back.

And no - it’s is not okay for any of the DCC to be hooking up w/ the servicemen when they visit - doesn’t matter how consensual it is.  If I were a military wife I would be very upset that happened even if my husband involved at all.

But again that is sexist bullshit. Be upset with the solider who can’t keep it in his pants.

Listen, if we are going to respect the military in this country, we should assume they are strong enough not to be seduced by cheerleaders.

Didn’t @ShellyB marry someone she met on a uso tour?  Is that ok but Cassie’s alleged actions not? Do the ends justify the means?  Like the “difference” between Paige hooking up with a player compared to holly and Jenna?

Was the guy even seduced, or just a willing participant. Would it be less interesting if it was just two college students, or two soldiers, or two random people who met in a bar? This has blown so out of proportion.

It’s not fair, but yes. Sexist, slut shaming, etc. seems to be erased on all fronts, not just DCC, if it results in marriage. So wrong, I disagree with it personally, but seems like so common. It’s ok to be a ho if it gets you a ring.

Why can’t people be upset with both if they dislike the behavior? I agree that any notion that Csssie seduced a poor, unsuspecting military man is sexist, but the opposite, removing agency from Cassie is also sexist IMO. Women can make their own choices. It seems that Cassie was a grown (potentially married) woman and very senior DCC when this occurred.

To the extent that she and this man broke rules of each’s employer (that they agreed to follow - again, under their own free will), they are each responsible for their own actions and can face any consequences. And honestly, if the DCCs have a rule that prohibits or limits fraternization/drinking between the cheerleaders and USO personnel, outside of sanctioned events, while on tour, I don’t even think that’s all crazy. As someone who deals with labor and employment issues, I can see a clear rationale behind that.  This is in contrast to the nonfraternization rule between cheerleaders and football players, which is truly just antiquated bs IMO (DCCs are not in the chain of command with players, no supervisory relationship, no identical restriction on the players). It’s just dumb.

Doesn't count. Shelly's not the most hated DCC of all time.

@UnicornKicks‘s post on December 19 said hooked up with a “troop.” If it was an NFL player, I’m not sure what the connection to the USO tours would be. Do the players go to those?  (I’m asking; i really don’t know).

Lots of speculation though, but that’s always been the case on here anytime a cheerleader is involved in some drama or trouble.

I hear ya, but with the current social political climate both women and men need to be careful. I think the DCCs fraternization policy is not all about sex but mostly about protecting their reputation. Last thing they need is a sexual assault or harassment case.

Preventing sexual harassment is certainly a legitimate policy goal for an employer. That's why most companies (if they have a policy on that issue) have a general non-fraternization policy that applies to everyone (too broad IMO), a policy that only to people who are in the same chain of command (can't date someone who reports to you directly or indirectly but can if they're are in a totally separate department), or the policy applies to supervisors and higher ups. To have a policy that only applies to the lowest person on the totem pole does not really advance the goal if you're trying to prevent a sexual harassment claim. I don't know of any company who tells the CFO that he can sleep with his secretary but has the secretary follow a policy that says that she can't sleep with him. Likewise, colleges don't kick out students for sleeping with professors, while the professor continues on in the job.

On the Daughter's of the revolution doc, the DCC org asked for a tougher non frat policy after Jerry Jones bought the team, because he wanted to use the girls as his own personal escorts for his friends/business partners.

I wish I could say I was surprised at this, but this seems like the typical way that they do business. Can't make the powerful executive behave and act like a decent human being-- so instead, we'll put more onerous requirements on the cheerleaders for their own good (sarcasm).

On a lighter note, my momma and I went to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas spectacular on Friday night, and it was indeed spectacular!  Jacie (and all of the dancers) did a fantastic job. The show was just so much fun, and definitely way more than just the kick line they’re famous for doing. Tons of jazz, ballet, etc. My mom was tickled at how tickled I was to see Jacie perform. I wish she had been the Rockette used for photo ops and I would have happily paid the fee

She looked stunning and was very easy to spot, as there were only two darker skinned ladies in the lineup. Which led to the same conversation with my mom that we’ve had here about privledge, representation, the money required to dance at elite levels, etc. Rockettes don’t get paid nearly enough, though certainly more than the DCC 😉 Can’t imagine paying NYC rent year round, and since being a rockette is seasonal I’m so curious what other jobs they normally pick up off season. Most dancers seem to target ten seasons.

No idea. She made the comment last year when she came, along with other alumni members, to help the tccs....something along the lines of her not being the smiley one but the one who laid down the law. Even without this new information, her comment was already eye-roll worthy because clearly, most girls aren't the coach's daughter and therefore can't get away with being unpleasant and not smiley and positive, like she could.

Can someone point me towards the episode of the exchange between Cassie T and Taylor Lowery?  And also the episode where Cassie got winded during here rookie Training Camp?   Thanks.

I think Ashley M was at one of the shows on Friday to watch Jacie.  And Danielle and Jasmine were there this week as well.

Olivia S is lucky that her boyfriend lives in New York, and she lives with him.  But I wondered if Jacie had roommates and how many.  I know she writes articles and models, but I don't know how much that pays.

I think I am the one who said SOLDIER bc that was the rumor several years ago. I had heard NOTHING about a football player. You are right, big sky said NFL player.

But honestly, rumor is rumor, and the truth is somewhere in the middle, or maybe not at all.

Why on earth though, would an officer's wife give a flying flip if Cassie and some football player hooked up. Not that an officer's wife has any business with who anyody sleeps with except her own husband, I still don't get. And like I said before, Cassie was not married and rumor was that it was a single soldier, NOT EVER a married man. NOBODY WAS MARRIED.

Why would the wife care? Assuming the soldier was part of her husband's unit, any scandal or drama that came from that event would wind up on his desk and it would be his neck too. You can not apply 2018 standards to the military---for as progressive as they may claim to be, they're not. Their laws and rules are different than ours. One of the hardest things for me to accept when my husband was active duty still (he's retired now and we live a civilian life) was that what I did mattered and could effect how he was seen and treated.

I don't know which branch your husband was in, but I've been heavily involved in both the Air Force & the Army and their is A LOT that goes on that gets swept under the rug. Yes, if it suits their purpose or causes them bad press, you can face disciplinary action, including getting discharged. But only if it suits their purpose. It was, & still very much, is a good old boys' network.

You either follow the rules of your organization or you do not. If you don’t follow the rules of your organization, you’re a problem. If the USO rumors are true, and she was a willing participant, she broke the rules and made herself a problem. She doesn’t get a pass if the male in question didn’t get in trouble. Army rules weren’t her business. DCC rules were.

Does anyone even know if his really happened? I mean at one point she was said to be sleeping with an army guy while newly married and pregnant?

Why bring this up now? It was never talked about before?

As for rule breaking we’ve seen over the years that DCC rules are selectively enforced. Look at Jenna dating Dak for what a year before they did something because underaged Holly got involved? Or Paige who had to be dating a player before she resigned? I doubt she resigned just to go out?

Then there are the weight rules which seem selective or overlying harsh.

Then there is the being late thing - I don’t think Keyra was the only girl ever to be late. I remember a season where a girl missed the bus to the stadium.

Holly didn’t get cut even though she was fraternizing and underage drinking with players. She resigned on her own and honestly seems much happier.

I don’t think the rules are harshly applied to any girl unless it’s what management wants to happen.

It appears to have happened. The incident described by UnicornKicks back in the thread seems to be the least embellished and most consistent, so that’s the one I’m going with lol.

As for the rules, they’re selectively enforced. I think there tend to be 2 reasons why they get enforced: 1) something that embarrasses the organization and undercuts their “wholesome, All-American girl” image; or 2) they want a reason to cut a girl (ie. a non favorite).

Hence.. Keyra. I don’t think ever loved her (she’s not a yes mam girl), but they kept her because she was one of the only power dancers in her rookie class, which was also badly lacking in diversity. Add in the “friend of Carsten” bonus, and she was in. Once that was gone and they (wrongly) thought they had enough AA rookies to replace the retirees, they cut her and used the tardiness as an excuse.

As for the embarrassment angle, I think that may explain the disparity between the reactions to the first Jenna situation and Paige one with Holly. Jenna, nor Paige, dated a player that was simultaneously  involved in a high profile NFL investigation and all sorts of drama. Holly did. Thus, Jenna “not stopping” Holly was a bigger deal than her own misbehavior (absurd but that’s how they roll). It’s also why I think a non coach’s daughter would have been pushed out had they done what Cassie allegedly did. It seems like it was pretty well known in DCC world and was embarrassing. That’s the type of stuff they usually tend to care about.

Is it really an enforced rule that servicemen can't hookup or causally date? I mean I get you aren't supposed to fraternize with someone above or below you in chain of command, and obviously adultry with married people is horrible, but I feel like everytime I've ever been out near Ft. Worth, there's a bunch of military guys trying to hook up. Young and single, not on duty, but out for a good time. Why is this anybody's business? It's not a war zone, nobody is married, etc. I am by no means saying every guy or girl in the military is a dog, a cheater, or just looking to hook up, but if you're 21 and single, whose business is it who you date?

Yes, I agree they are selectively enforced. That was the point of my post. Your reasons make sense. They act when it’s going to embarrass them or when they want a girl out.

I was mad about it with Victoria until I came to understand that they’ve always been selective. It was just so blatant with her even a naive viewer like me couldn’t ignore the obvious.

He was in the Army and we watched both happen depending upon the station and command at the time. At our last duty station before retirement I literally watched a soldier get a court marshall and jailed at Leavenworth for supplying alcohol to a minor and adultery. He was 1 of 5 CM's that year.

Hi there, long time lurker here.  I thought Jinelle had retired, yet I see her in all the game day candids.  I know she initially filled in for someone the first game, but it seems like she’s cheering regularly now.  Anybody know?

She's an All Star and fills in for girls who are injured or sick.

Cassie got winded/said she thought she had asthma in her rookie TC but I can't recall the episode.

I thought she has asthma but didn't have her inhaler with her. Didn't Judy ask if someone had one Cassie could use?

Didn't she also have mono as well?  I remember when Melissa R had mono and K&J were upset with her for not performing like a veteran.  I feel bad when the girls are so sick and have to practice.  Of course, these days they just stick an IV in them full of vitamin C and electrolytes.

Mono is highly contagious. K&J are outrageous. Didn't mean to rhyme. Lol.

Cassie asked cause I remember thinking that was gross.

I also thought it sounded fake that Cassie asked for "an inhaler" like it's some generic thing and inhalers are all the same.

Actually, it is a pretty generic thing. Most rescue inhalers (what she would have needed at that time) are albuterol & is what just about every asthmatic carries around with them.

Most but not all.  Truth be told I like Cassie, I didn't hold it against her, I just thought that incident sounded like an excuse.
