Melissa & Ricky: Rico Suave & Chiquita Banana

Recommended Posts

Ricky is on crack; when the season first started I fast forwarded through Jesse and Darcy because - ew and Ricky and Melissa - because the way he pronounced "MELissA drove me nuts. I started watching their storyline when Ximena showed up because she was spicy. Ricky however, gave me the skin-crawlies. If he thinks HE is the reason we watched season 2, he is not only a liar, he is a dreamer as well.

Ricky should STFU and be happy he got $1,000 an episode.  What a loser.

Exactly.  The only 90DF cast members that have any right to birch are the folks in the first two seasons because who knew what this wacky show would be. This jerk had ample opportunity to watch the show and see what the impact was in the cast . He's a fucking idiot

I know I sound like a broken record, but he's the one person I wish TLC hadn't paid! They would be completely in their rights not to pay him because he conned them. And, if he protests, he would be met with an army of their lawyers!

They need to discourage this kind of fakery from happening in the future.

Apparently, Ricky didn't get paid after all. If you look on 90DayFianceMemes on Instagram (or just take my word for it that's easier), there's a meme making fun of Ricky for not getting a check. And, Ricky himself (I think) comments on it in the form of Crown Entertainment Productions or whatever he's calling his goofy company. He apparently really feels like he's ahead of his time... typical delusional loser stuff. Anyway, Sharp let Ricky know he was the bitch after all. Glad to hear it. Probably a little too glad.

Whenever I hear about Ricky and his production company I automatically think of porn...like he produces porn.

That’s delicious! This guy made a fool of himself on tv and didn’t even get his meager cheque for it? I can’t fathom that it has helped his business any or any other facet of his life. His intelligent daughter surely will have some opinions on all of it when she’s older. What an absolute ass he is.

Remember the American version of the gypsy weddings ?  TLC would reach into the hidden crevices of Appalachia to find "gypsy" impoverished teenagers to marry.  I think it was reported that the couple got $3000 to appear and marry.  So many times friends would act like a couple and marry just to get the most TLC money to split.

And the weird thing is that I've lived in some of those deep recesses of Appalachia for almost 40 years now, even have family in some of those places the American "gypsies" came from, and I'd NEVER heard of a strong Romany subgroup until this show. After talking to friends and family who knew some of the key players in that series, it appears that while the heritage itself is real, they're playing up almost everything and many of them didn't even identify as gypsy until the show.
