Jeremy's other two siblings are single. Of course, they could have kids out of wedlock, but they don't. 

Jeremy's dad is pushing 70, so I can understand why they were so ecstatic to hear the news.

I admit I teared up over Diana's reaction to the pregnancy news. It's rare we get to see such an unscripted moment of joy on this show. I also thought it was cute the way she initially misinterpreted the gift, thinking Jeremy had given her the wrong box.

Yes, that was my favorite moment on the show. I also found it interesting that she said (if I'm remembering correctly) that she didn't think it would happen so soon.

Yeah I don’t get it when people say things like that. It’s not as if they didn’t know the type of family Jinger came from. And she wasn’t in school or on a powerful career treck. 

I think the joy the Vuluos had was genuine which was nice to see.

I was wondering if the Swanson family is just renting that McMansion for the wedding and filming.  Or they can't bear to be in another state from their oldest.  I guess it is easy to move when your kids are not in school, but they left their home, their church and fundie community and his landscape business.

I think there's family money somewhere in the mix. I couldn't tell you why, it's just a feeling I get from watching them.

When I was 20, I dated a guy a decade older than me. I was in college and he lived about 100 miles from me. So my guess is yes, Kendra felt a little funny about correcting him but was so horrified internally by his plate licking that she overcame the possible mental obstacle of having to do so. 

Good on her for having the backbone to do it, giggles and all!

Oh, so something else that crossed my mind about this episode (the #austrils comment on the Joy/Austin thread reminded me of this) was when Joy and Austin were drawing each other, I believe Austin made some comment about Joy drawing his nose too big, so I had to LOL at that.

I just thought it was funny when Jessa said that, Jana doesn't mind if the guy isn't as smart as she is! lol  So funny.  She said that after talking about Jana seems to know how to do just about everything and she was using a backhoe.

I think the elder Vuolos had some serious talks with Jeremy about marriage and about making real plans for the future.  They were aware of the "five year plan" and that Jeremy and Jinger planned to be child free and apparently pregnancy free for the first year and Jinger appeared to conceive very quickly near the one year mark.  They probably expected it would take at least a few months.

This is what I'm thinking, too. They had to know Jinger's background, and I bet Jeremy specifically told them that the plan wasn't to pop out a honeymoon blessing. I know my parents would definitely bring that up if I married a Duggar! I bet Jeremy said something about having a child in the first five years, which is why it seemed soon at year one, but not too soon.

How have they not have had multiple visits from CPS over some of the stuff that's shown? Like the feeding a baby on their back.  Hey and once Jordan finishes eating, if she doesn't choke first she can gum the styrofoam cup M'chelle is feeding her from.  Seriously?  You can't even feed your baby with a clean dish.  Also no bib it seems, and no blankie down, so dirty clothes and a more filthy couch.  

There's a part of me that's like you put the baby lying down on the sofa, and Gods know what disgusting mess is on that sofa.  And you don't bother to put down a blankie or something so that not only would Jordyn not get cooties, but it keeps the food off the sofa , and the spit up and the diaper messes.  Just ugh.  These folks are so dirty.

She’s not even using a baby spoon. How can she not have a baby spoon? My pack rat  of a mamman (grandma) still had one 40+ years after her last baby.  When you have 20+ grandkids, why not keep ar least one on hand?  And Clown Car looked pregnant again.  Jeez lady!

I hope this question isn’t coming out of left field but I am wondering why Jess and Ben still have the little house even though they have more children than Joe and Kendra. Did Joe do the work himself restoring the log cabin type home? I would think they could start out in the little house and Ben and Jess could move there but that’s not how It works I guess.  

When Kendra’s mom said she was surprised her pregnancy happened so soon I felt like screaming, what did you think would happen without family planning? I don’t know if she herself has ever used any method though. It sounds like Joe and kendra wanted to get starts right away anyway.

I'm thinking the newlyweds get whatevers available when they marry.

Didn't Jessa buy the mold house from Grandma for like a $1?  What if the newlyweds don't want the mold house? I'm sure Joe knows how small the mold house is, not to mention what condition it is in & jumped at the chance to redo the log cabin.  I don't remember if Joe bought the log cabin from Grandma.  Does anyone know?  I'm sure Jessa is extremely jealous of how nice the log cabin turned out.  I think they all lucked out when JimBob sold the Stoneybrook Mcmansion.  I'm sure Jessa was ticked off when the first wed daughter & Pop's favorite got  Stoneybrook & she & Ben got the mold house, even though it did have a redo since the Smugs & others lived there.

It will be interesting to find out where Josiah & Lauren are living.  Or have we found out and I missed it?

She was pregnant again, with Josie, unless I'm way off in guessing Jordyn's age there. Josie was born at 25 weeks gestation a week before Jordyn's first birthday.

The log cabin is on JimChelle’s property, I’d say they own it .

The stonybrook McMansion was abandoned and trashed when the Duggars bought it. Redone mold house vs redone “walls full of catshit” house.

I think that the rules change all the time. When JB gave Jill and Derick the McMansion and Jessa and Ben got the mold house, JB said something about "helping them out at reduced rent." Jinger and Joy didn't get a house, Joe had to do the work on his house, and it doesn't look like Josiah gets a house at all.

I'm so confused with all these wedding and births.  And the way they mix them up - planning a wedding, then a birth, then back to the wedding.  Last night Jinger let them know she was pregnant, and next thing you know she is giving birth.  Hard to keep up!

Funny you should say that because several people made comments on DFO regarding the picture where Felicity wasn't properly positioned in her carseat. The Duggars' rabid defenders said Michelle gave birth to 19 kids and she would never post a picture of anything where a child's safety was compromised. (Eyeroll)

Michelle was also the same woman who taught Jill that absurdly dangerous trick of looping a heavy carseat over a flimsy umbrella stroller, so yeah...

That's a good question! I've always heard that, in general, reality TV crews are strongly urged not to intervene to make for better TV, but I don't know what general standard that TLC or the crew on this show in particular follows. I'm glad they stepped in and helped during Josie's ordeal. That would have been terrifying for everyone present.

Unless she started choking I doubt they would have intervened. Unfortunately in our country, just being a bad parent isn't illegal. There would have been no one to call and of all the things CPS worthy that I have seen over the years, this doesn't even hit the radar.

Kendra's dad actively preaches on the "trust god with the size of your family" doctrine, so no, I don't believe they've ever used birth control. I'm sure she was just mildly surprised that it was a honeymoon baby. Even among their set, it can often take a few months to conceive.

They did Talking Heads with the crew for one episode. I think Jim the sound guy(?) said he would redirect the kids sometimes. I sure someone would be able to find the episode. It might have been preceding Scandal #1? @Sew Sumi might know.

That stems from the practice of documentary films, where it’s considered unethical and fraudulent to interfere with the natives in their habitats, because then you are no longer simply a scrivener type.  (Source: film minor with lectures on Nanook of the North, etc.)

We know they dropped everything SO THEY COULD FILM, because that's how fucked up these people are. A child is experiencing a medical emergency, and their first instinct is to call the crew over so they could get it on camera. Fortunately, there were enough crew members available to handle the camera, mic, etc. that one of them could lend a hand.
