We can only hope that, if this is the case, that the man comes out and says "Hmmm....looks like you have been trying to get Visas with other women for two years now."

Maybe after dealing with Nicole and her   simpering, smug smile the interviewer pulls Azan aside and says, I’ll 86 the K3 application with this woman, but approve the K1 for the one in Belarus.... I just couldn’t live with myself imagining what fresh hell you’ll suffer at her hands.

Yeah...but we had something to compare it to.   If we met him like that, "fit" would probably not come to mind.

It was spelled "Mae," occasionally on closed-captioning...but that's often hit-or-miss.

It was in the first season, one of the first times Chantel trotted Pedro over to her parents' house so they could all pile on him.

I'm guessing a large plate of accusations, with a side of self righteous and a nice warm cup of finger pointing and bigotry.

But that's what they serve Pedro every single time he is with them.  I am thinking they'll serve something different for a change...

A Moroccan and Belorussian would not be in need of a K1 since neither are American.

Azan is a grown man who can end his relationship with Nicole at anytime but apparently likes the cash enough to continue for now but he is clearly also a piece of shit.

I can understand the confusion around “Robbalee” because what the hell even is that name, but “May” is three letters, phoenetic, a common verb, and a month of the year. It could not be easier!

(This isn’t really directed at you, HoT, just the rantings of a good speller with an equally simple first name that people still manage to fuck up!)

Mae is a very acceptable spelling of the name, also pronounced "May."

Jorge - I envision an overweight stoner adolescent who stayed in his room all day (?watching porn), who then graduated to bombarding webcam/online girls with love letters and empty promises. He got lucky with Anfisa, that's for sure. She will do fine once she loses this albatross.

I'm 99% sure Azan's relatives are in on this love-rat scam, of course they're living off Nicole's money. I've heard other tea spilled that his mother couldn't stand Nicole, and that's how they ended up at the aunt's house last year. She seems so sweaty all the time, and the goo-goo eyes on Azan are so cringy.

When N&A were at the cafe discussing the telephone kiss, she seemed to have a lucid moment, when she very quietly said, "I don't know." Also, I had a telepathic feeling that Nicole was looking at him & thinking "he's not really that cute."

Azan's hair has been discussed already, but if they were a real couple wouldn't she have tried to buy some product(s) to help him out? Oh, that's right, everything is about her.

Someone smart upthread discussed Annie not wanting to get mixed up in David's gene pool. In my 20s I was casually dating a rugged-looking man, who took me to meet his family. One look at his sister, and I knew the relationship would go no further.

I hope Annie saw herself in the TH after her talk with Ashley. She just looked hideous when she exclaimed, "WHAT THE F**K!" with her painted mouth wide open. Annie, your reputation is not enhanced by using foul ignorant words.

That’s interesting, why is he telling Nicole that the interviewer was asking all kinds of questions about his girlfriend in Belarus and his attempts to go to Belarus?

Azan is clearly a sack of shit, and obviously Robbalee can smell him all the way over here, as can most of us. I don’t make excuses for him nor do I make excuses for Nicole’s delusional belief that someone who calls  to harangue her for not sending exactly the amount that he was expecting to receive, the same guy who says he’s only 55% attracted to her, tells her she’s lazy, is recorded talking to other women about kissing, and manages to lose his internet connection at the most critical moments, is worth marrying. But as long as she does, he’s going to continue to milk her for every cent he can get, then move on to another victim. The chances that Nicole will have learned anything from this... most likely slim to none. She’ll be trolling for the next bit of foreign eye candy within a few days.

His interview was the US Embassy, part of the process is a background check where his attempt to go to Belarus would show up. It’s a red flag for the person doing the interview because it could indicate that he was just looking to leave Morocco and not in a real relationship with Nicole. It would be a further red flag if he didn’t disclose this information on the application.

You are much more knowledgeable about this stuff than I am. Would you know if there is a similar process to the K1 that he would have had to go thru to get from Morocco to Belarus. It seems there is,and since it was unsuccessful, there must be something fishy that is keeping him in Morocco. He may have done this same game with other women also.

Hopefully all will be revealed soon.

Beating a dead horse here, but I was merely explaining how and why some people think "May" is spelled "Mae," and apparently NoSpam has the same explanation.  Let's all wait six or seven more years when CPS finally forces Mae-May to go to school and learn to read and write.  She can set everyone straight.

I can imagine Azan avoiding eye contact with the interviewer and coming across as very suspicious. Plus, he could have very well sabotaged the whole thing himself because he doesn't want to marry Nicole. And have we gotten any kind of confirmation that he really went to the interview beyond the e-mail denial?

I can see him giving his cute (he thinks) nervous giggle when asked about his feelings for Nicole, when her birthday is, when is May’s Bday, etc, his avoidance of eye contact. All stuff he should know but probably doesn’t.

Or......he may have flung himself on the ground and pleaded with the person to deny it. Do we know for sure if he even went? I think his fam wants him hanging on to this meal ticket ( they were way too happy to $ee her), and that's the only reason he continues this farce. I can't wait to see how he gets out of the wedding.

What I don’t get is how anyone in Nicole’s social circle could think Azan’s visa would be approved after this show. I could see it happening if he was approved before the first season was aired but I don’t see how it would happen after it aired. I get immigration may not be watching the show but surely someone has made them aware of Nicole and Azan being on it or it has to come up in a background check. Any two minute clip of the show reflects Azan’s lack of desire for Nicole and  how he seems to barely tolerate being in her presence.

I think even Nicole is starting to think there’s more to the story than Azan has been telling her.

I imagine he was speaking to her on the phone at the airport pretty harshly, since she was using that sickly sweet “ talking him down” voice and trying to make it appear to those in earshot that there wasn’t a problem.  Sort of a coincidence too that he was able to get thru on his inconsistant  and unreliable cell service that always seems to go down when he’s expected to call or receive a call from Nicole. Even Brother Thomas doesn’t fall for that BS and told Nicole straight out.

i believe deep down she isn’t going to be all that shook up if this marriage doesn’t take place.

If they really delved into hASSan's relationship with the ex in Belarus, I'm willing to bet it was a lot deeper than what he was letting on. He's reaching Jorge levels of lying. He's so shifty and sneaky, so is it really out of the scope of reality that he was simultaneously applying for the K1 and whatever visa to the ex-girlfriend's country to possibly maybe marry her, too? With the background checks, it would definitely come up about visa attempts. I still believe he tanked the whole thing and probably begged and pleaded. Anyone can see he can barely tolerate her. He has no problem in THs, but he looks like if she touches him, he'll curl up and cringe. I'm willing to bet there'll be issues with the K3.

ETA: Even if he does eventually marry her, dude will find a way to remtain living thousands of kilometres apart. There's a lady in one of my FB travel groups who has been married to a Nigerian man for seven years. He still lives in Nigeria, and she's in the States. She goes to visit her husband for x amount of time, and that's their marriage. If I remember correctly, he was denied for the K3. I immediately thought of Nicole and hASSan. She'd probably do that to avoid people saying "I told you so" or accepting that he isn't the right man for her. Anything to snag the ring, secure the bag, and get the man.

Is it just me or in this last episode did Nicole seem ... almost ... medicated? Maybe it was the heat of Morocco but a few times she seemed almost on the verge of not really having any Fs left to give.

I think that the disconnect between Azan's words and his actions is beginning to catch her attention. And she is depressed and sad about it. She is also a petulant brat who will do anything to avoid an " I told you so!'.

Can they apply for a K3 before the wedding takes place? If a couple truly wants to be together I would think they would marry, then apply, at least it shows that there is some commitment. If you apply, are denied and then don’t marry, and the American comes back to the US, it kind of proves something wasn’t on the up and up.

the preview wasn’t clear but I thought they were somewhere talking about the wedding license not the K3 and Azan got all nervous and defensive because some of his sketchy activities were coming to light.

I think she’ll spin a tale of star crossed lovers ( well almost lovers), denied connubial bliss by bureaucratic red tape and prejudice. Or she’ll cry and mope around, eventually venturing back to the internet and men seeking women sites, older but sadly no wiser.

With the K3, you have to get married and then apply for the non-citizen to return to the States with you. It can take anywhere from a few months to years. Like the K1 or fiance/fiancee visa, it's not guaranteed. It's a spousal visa, but even if they get married now, he wouldn't be able to live in the States until it's approved. If he was truly denied for the K1, the same reason could block him from getting the K3.

If he's worried about the license, it could be that he's already married. Most people don't get defensive about that. This is why I was looking at Nicole like...are you seriously unconcerned and not the least bit worried about why he was denied? He clearly has skeletons, and this wasn't a well thought out plan by Nicole. She couldn't just go and take up residence in Morocco for a year. She probably could stay in 90 day increments, leave for a weekend, and re-enter to start a new 90 day tourist visa.

Good point about the possible reason for Winter's weight.  Of course!  Her mother runs a what?  Cheerleading camp or something?  That's a step up from running a kiddie pageant coaching service, but not a big step.  And on the other end of the spectrum there's Seabiscuit with her hyper-sexy body, which is  just another way of reacting in a family where physical appearance (for females, anyway) is paramount.  This is a sad family.

What was that meal anyway? It looked like fried chicken wings and some kind of stir fried vegetables.

One thing I'm on board with is buying fresh shrimp at an Asian market--you can get them with the heads on, and they taste so much better, they really do.  You boil them intact, then behead them.  Gross, but their brains (? do shrimp have brains?) make them taste a whole lot better, or maybe it's just that they stay fresher when they're less processed.  And at our Asian market, prices are a lot lower, especially for fish and produce, than at the regular grocery store, so that $60 dinner would probably have cost at least $75 at Kroger's.

I actually agree with Jorge to some extent. Anfisa made it clear she married him because she thought he was rich. If he had more money, anfisa would probably be much happier.

The thing about George blaming lack of money for his marital troubles is like misquoting the Bible as "money is the root of all evil."  It's "love of money"
that's the root of all evil.  In George's case, money isn't the reason Anfisa is going to leave him.  It's the lying about money that's the problem.  I can't tell if she's genuine about loving George--it's hard for me to imagine that it's true--but remember, she comes from a family where her father disappeared when she was very young, and she has said her mother was always out trying to find a new husband.  I think it's possible that she is simply desperate to create a real family for herself, and George was kind to her (admittedly kind by spending money on her), so she might have bought into it that he would be a reliable, non-deserting father figure.  And then she realizes he's been lying all this time, and not just about money.  I don't think he'll ever realize the depth of the betrayal Anfisa is experiencing, not just about the money.

That said, I doubt that she would have hooked up with him in the first place if he hadn't led her to believe he was a millionaire.  She seems resourceful; if he had come clean, fully clean, right out of the box once they were in America, she might well have stayed with him and been a good partner in working together to succeed financially and matrimonially.

Any amount of money that as a kid Nicole threw a tantrum anytime she didnt get her way.  Watch mommy tiptoe around her trying to make her see the light without setting her off into a raging tantrum. She’s simple minded. Probably read too many Harlequin romance novels and is obsessed with some fantasy of what love is.

I wouldn’t be shocked if she was the fat girl that the guys in school that she was crushing on,  would pretend to like just to get in her pants, but never acknowledged even  knowing her in public.  May is being taught at this young age that the be all and end all of a girls life is having boyfriend. Her mother can barely be bothered to engage with her because she’s so caught up in her quest for a man. May will be boy crazy just like mommy when she’s just a few years older.

Wonder if David will try to cajole Annie into earning a few bucks on the internet ,,, just til he finds a job?

I know Nicole has a baby face (and the roundness doesn’t help) but how old is she? She acts like a spoiled kid who cannot get her way (an immature 16yrs old) isn’t she in her 20s??? (24 says her title card) I most certainly got the sense that she was the girl growing up who bought into the stereotype that larger women should be easy, and let guys use her for sex but wouldn’t be seen with her in public. She’s very love hungry.

I can relate to Chantal with loving a man who's family sucks.

Chantel's family sucks just as bad in their own way. Pedro's family mooches and is disrespectful. But Family Chantel is dysfunctional in that they are always together and no one appears capable of making an independent decision. There is no way for Pedro to win with Family Chantel unless he abandons his own family and does everything Family Chantel says. Its really odd that River and Winter never seem to be going anywhere or doing anything. The whole family just obsesses over their Pedro conspiracy theories.
