Super confused on why/how Tara is supposed to be cut now?

Think we could watch old seasons book club style? Give 2 weeks or so to watch a season and then discuss... Now that would be something. Brownie points to whoever can figure out "where they are now" for the girls who were cut

As much as I love Tara, I do agree that there seems to be something off about her. It looked like she was out of place when they were practicing Thunder and had to scoot over a few times and doesn’t look as enthusiastic or energetic as last year. I wonder if she’s been distracted by something?

With all of those talking heads, I think they should just go ahead & make it official by changing the name to VK: Making the Team.

I have rewatched all of the seasons more than once, I usually do a rewatch before the new season comes out. I can watch Season 1 and 2 on the CMT app and I have the rest of the seasons on Amazon. I have never seen the 2 hour special though, I have never been able to find it. 

It’s fun watching the seasons back to back, because when someone like Morgan annoys the crap out of you one season, you know you get to see her cut the next one.

At this point I'm snark watching so here are my thoughts:

Marty is a great choreographer, but I don't think the girls were prepared for his level of critiquing. I don't think singling out any of the dancers, like he did Bridget, is okay when his style doesn't match their style. He had Bridget in tears and the girl made Show Group---clearly she is DCC ready and the fact that he had her second guessing herself is an overreach for a guest. He spoke to them like he knew them and he doesn't; not only does he not know them he doesn't know the DCC dynamic. I'm a little annoyed that Kelli and Judy allowed it. 

Group Leads: Kashara is tonight's MVP. I liked that she had a solid reason not to give her sticker to Victoria. The only sticker that girl has is from Kitty---that speaks volumes. I love that everyone is pulling for Brennan. Adding to this: I do think Kashara's comment about Victoria's lack of filter is damning, but I also see Kelli allowing this type of commentary of VK to be a bit scapegoaty. It's like she's trying to fill the show with footage of all the reasons VK HAS to be cut, so she isn't the big bad bully for pulling the rug out from the feet of her BFF's daughter. I do think Kashara, and maybe Lacy, are the only 2 Vets who could have gotten away with that commentary. Not even Amy or Maddie could have said that without a clap back. 

Cameos: Jalyn's comment about Jinelle being the best to accept help from because she's been there, made me cackle. When it aired the week after the VK debacle it was too ironic to miss. Victoria is fat---in the real world she's a pretty girl with an old school glam face. In the DCC world she sticks out like a sore thumb and her stomach is way too soft. 

Outside rehearsal: A lot of eek for the Vets. Poor Taylor J.

Tara looks depressed. Her neck has gotten thicker which I think it making her look more boxy, but she looked great at cameos. Her spirit though, looks broken. I loved that Kelli and Judy were trying to be reassuring, but I think it's a little too little too late. Savannah's memory mistakes reminded me of her rookie year. Now that we know Tara has been cut, I wonder if she has sought out help for whatever she is going through. I wish her the best. 

Kristen being cut wasn't a surprise, it could have happened weeks ago and I wouldn't have bat an eyelash. Maybe she'll come back stronger next year, tbh, I doubt I'd notice her if she tried again. 

Oh and the etiquette class bores me. Like, I get why they have to do it, but it's boring to watch. However, quail is not a seafood. As if the stereotype about dumb blondes isn't enough, Victoria just adds fuel to that fire. 

And finally, what the hell did Lily do?

The girl's starting singing the lyrics to it so I imagine it actually was that. Way back when I was a dancer, that song was very easy to get a cheap license to so it was used all the time.

It's also fun to watch all eps from one season in marathon binge.  When they air once a week, you don't catch on to everything, and then when you watch them all at once, it's like ok I get it now.  Like Breelan, one ep at a time, I really didn't see the problem.  By the time you are done watching her whole season, it's like cut her, cut her now, no don't put on the squad, nooooooooooo.

I wonder what the tipping point is for Tara? She is not going to come in 11 pounds heavier....Kelli is rooting for her. It has to be a doozy, like dancing off the field into the parking lot. Malena is performing far worse, and seems to be allowed to "dance along" as though she is shadowing, and not part of the team.

 

What in the world did Tara do to deserve being cut....anyone with inside info? outside info?

The sprinklers were going and at first glance i thought somebody had lost their mind watering the artificial turf...and then i realized the sprinkles were watering the field adjacent to the turf the girls were practicing on.

SAVANNAH- that girl has gotten eerily skinny. Her body type is not meant to be so lean. I dont think I like it. Women who naturally have big boobs, usually the natural body type that goes along with that are super curvy throught the waist, hips or backside. In ronights episode, she was shaped like a man, broad throught the shoulder chest and then e erything tapered down from there. It appeared she had lost her waist and hip curvature.

I understand why they love Savannah - she is so adorable and her personality is so cute and humble.

Tara to me blends sooo much and always has.   Her look is so basic and she doesn’t stand out. She also has really short legs.  Can probably be made over to stand out, but she and they clearly aren’t trying to do so cause she looked the same to me.

Uggghhhh. If VK does decide to reaudition (and she probably will because she doesn't seem to want anything else out of life) I hope she takes a few years to mature and get in better physical shape. I would hate for her to come back next year and not make the team or make it one year then get cut before becoming a vet. This season has exposed VK's weak spots and if being a DCC is indeed something she wants she needs to take the time to get better, get fit, that way when/if she does comeback nobody has a reason to doubt her position on the team.

agreed! I am sure VK has been heavily edited. this is what is left to work with. 

I was disappointed in the meal...way too easy! last year's was better meal choices for "practice"

I think what Kashara meant about VK is that she doesn’t have a filter when she talks.  She says how she feels without thinking of how it’s going to come across - like too honest, like how a child is.

I’ve known people like that all my life, and it is a lot more common among teenagers who are still immature, or just those who aren’t very bright.   It doesn’t mean they are mean or evil people, more that they just don’t think before they speak.

A person like that may do something like ask a woman who is gaining weight if she’s pregnant...or tell someone they don’t like their new haircut (cause they just don’t ;)), or tell them they look tired, or that their dancing didn’t look as good tonight, etc.   Basically they just haven’t learned to be polite and “fake” yet - and they are kind of scary to be around cause not everyone appreciates brutal honesty ;).

He doesn’t know them personally, but he’s definitely aware of the DCC dynamic. He’s from Dallas and danced with/taught many DCC (me included) before he went to LA. He had one of the more popular classes in Dallas that many DCC & DMD took back in the day. 

I wish you could see all footage...he gave Bridget great compliments, and reminded her to be as confident no matter what the choreo.

I can understand the artist/musicians/production, etc getting fairly paid.  But to me, I would think that every time your music gets played, that is a possible download of your song or your album.  You might gain a new fan.  I never heard the song "Loud" until I heard it during Season 2.  Not that I want to download it - just an example.  But I have downloaded quite a few songs I've heard on various shows.  I don't understand the whole music rights thing.  I know I will never get to see three of my favorite shows on DVD or streaming probably.

Between the quail is seafood  and the Kashara comments, y'all are killing this West coaster who hasn't seen the episode yet.  I cannot wait to see the Kashara scene.  I've always loved Kashara so it doesn't surprise me she'd be the one to go for it.

Malena's photo shoot was HOT! OMG! I dearly hope she gets some memory training and comes back next year!

I will be CRUSHED when Kashara wraps up her time with DCC! Would love to see her go five years like Jinelle; but it's up to her to decide when her time is done.

Why is Kelli so wishy washy this season? I understand the VK issue but the rest of this doesn't seem that hard. Pick the top 36 and move on. Two weeks to go and girls still making obvious mistakes or are not uniform ready... What is so freaking hard? And if you end up with 38 that's not bad either. You might need some subs given the turnover lately.

I really think Kelli got thrown by last years Jenna/Holly/Erica fiasco. I think she's just second-guessing herself too much.

If she waits until the end, anything that could come out would come out, so that may also be it. That said, her second guessing herself is coming across as an ineffective leader. If I were Char watching this season, I'd be calling Kelli into my office and asking her if it needs to be her last night. This season has not been friendly for the DCC Management.
