Why is Jarvis so loyal to Stark on Agent Carter? — Jason

You will soon find out! “Howard did something for him that had an enormous [impact] in both his life and his wife’s life,” James D’Arcy tells me. “As a result of that, I think Jarvis feels extremely loyal towards somebody of, let’s face it, questionable morality.” Any guesses?

Question: Bridget Regan’s “No. 1 fan” here, hoping you can tell something about her Agent Carter role! —Bill
Ausiello
: The White Collar/Jane the Virgin actress debuts this Tuesday as Dottie Underwood, “another one of these kind of softly spoken women who comes along and starts to have a relationship with Peggy,” says Hayley Atwell. “But the thing with Peggy is that she can’t really get close to a lot of the people that are living and working outside of her secret life, so we see her struggling to really want to form intimacy with these women…. You see that she’s kind of missing out on being girly.”

Tom: Got anything on Agent Carter?
When Howard Stark (guest star Dominic Cooper) makes his big return next week, Agent Peggy Carter won't be welcoming him home with a hug this time. In fact, his return comes right on the heels of her learning that Howard and Jarvis lied to her...and their lie has a little something to do with her long lost love, Captain America. Expect Peggy to shut Howard down during their knock-down, drag out argument in the best possible way--her scathing and honest words.

Hopefully these lies mentioned in that last clip is what Stark and Jarvis were discussing by phone at the end of the first episode, so we don't have to go through this again, at least in this miniseries :)  Of course, she'll have to ream Jarvis out as well...

So the promo for the next episode. Is it too much to hope that Peggy is going to be visiting a place known as the Red Room?

You've got Maybe-Yelena hanging out in the boarding house, and now Peggy dealing with precociously violent little girls in Russia? Hey, you know what would be even cooler? A Winter Soldier appearance.

That would be awesome (and Disney/Marvel pretty much owns Sebastian Stan's soul at this point), but it's probably a little too early. I don't think he really gets going until the 50's. Now, if we get a season two that jumps forward a decade...

http://comicbook.com/2015/01/28/agent-carters-dottie-revealed-as-a-black-widow/

Today, Marvel revealed that Dottie is a member of the Black Widow Program, the same Soviet program that turned Natasha Romanov into The Avengers’ Black Widow in the modern day Marvel Cinematic Universe.  But the producers clarified that Dottie’s training, while from the KGB, isn’t from a specific “Black Widow” program—yet. Butters said that Dottie’s program will most likely evolve in the Black Widow program, much like the SSR will eventually turn into S.H.I.E.L.D.

Junior's comment that he came up with the name "Howling Commandos" is not too far from what happened in the comics; an idea of Juniper to use a truck with loudspeakers to trick some German soldiers led to the Howling Commandos name being coined.  http://marvel.wikia.com/Jonathan_Juniper_(Earth-616)

This may be of interest: Marvel is publishing a two-issue "Marvel's Ant-Man [Movie] Prelude" series which will have Peggy working with Hank Pym sometime during the Cold War, with Peggy looking somewhat older than her appearance in 1946, and Hank looking somewhat younger than Michael Douglas is in promotional photos for the movie.  This comics series is being advertised as official MCU canon!

I agree with you that Jack is probably Peggy’s future husband on Agent Carter, but I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon since he’s such a jerk to her. — Marciella

It sounds like Jack and Peggy won’t be butting heads for long, though. “The first few episodes I was saying, like, ‘You are dead. I have no time for you, I will put you in your place,’” Hayley Atwell says. “But then they go off and do a mission together and she learns some things about him, which makes her see him in a completely different way. By the very fact that he opens up to her, he is starting to trust her a little bit more, and that changes their relationship quite a bit.”

The problem with Jack being the potential future Peggy-husband is that Captain America 2 dropped very specific hints about her husband. First was that there was a photo of him & Peggy and future daughter (which, granted could be dismissed since it would've been a different actor altogether).  But in that photo, the husband was notably dark haired.

Also, in the Smithsonian exhibit, an interview with Peggy talks about how Steve saved the person that would become her husband. Now this could either be that Steve saved her husband in war or that blood sample she's now hiding will later be used to save him.  If it's the former then the husband would've had to have fought on the Western Front because Steve only fought on the Western Front.  Sousa, of the men introduced thus far (excluding Howard and Jarvis) have all been clearly revealed as Pacific Front fighters.  In episode 1, Thompson makes a comment about fighting in Iwa Jima and the Battle of Midway was also name checked.  The only person who's kept his military history a closely guarded secret is Sousa. We don't know where he fought and we don't know how he got his injury.  He's also clearly told Peggy that he'd thought he was going to die, but then didn't. There's been a heck of a lot of dancing around Sousa's story, probably because he was the one that was saved by Steve Rogers that Peggy references. If I'm remembering correctly, I think Smithsonian Peggy says that when she fell in love with her husband she didn't know that Steve had saved him until later on in their relationship.  This would also support why Sousa has been hedging when he gets personal with Peggy.

Also, as a fun connection, the actor who plays Sousa also had a bit part in Avengers.  I saw a screen grab on tumblr and the actor was clearly shown in the same frame as Captain America.  Wouldn't it be something if that was meant to be Peggy's grandson fighting in the battle of New York?

Peggy had a son and a daughter, I think the picture in CA:TWS was supposed to be them. I don't think they showed a picture of her husband. They've said that her husband was one of the 400 men that Steve rescued when the military refused to get them.

The reason Enver Gjokaj had a cameo in The Avengers is because he's pals with Joss Whedon, I think. His haziness on his war record is definitely suspect. They could go the blindingly obvious and boring route of having him be a guy Cap saved, and he's not telling Peggy because reasons. It'd be a disappointing move, for a show that has done most things right so far.

The backstory for Steve rescuing Peggy's husband would seem to put Thompson out of the running. There were very few soldiers who fought in both the European and Pacific Theatres, and if Thompson was a marine (as seems likely, given his presence at Iwo Jima), then he definitely didn't. But Peggy could have been cute with what she meant by that, or they could fudge the backstory to say Cap did have a mission or two in the Pacific (which he definitely did in the old comic books).

I doubt it though. And I hope we still haven't met Mr. Carter. As I've already said, I don't think we need to meet him.

It'll be interesting to see what Peggy learns about Thompson, though. I guess the comparison would be Souza again. If he's not faking the leg (as I suspect he might be), then he's an obvious example of the physical trauma men suffered in the war. We know Thompson was on Iwo Jima, and probably fought in other truly hellish battles, so it may be that his trauma is mental, and we'll get some insight into that.

Ahh... now that makes me wonder if they're setting up opposite expectations for Thompson and Sousa, that one will appear dickish and turn out to have a heart of gold, and the other will be the reverse.

I don't mind seeing more dimensions to Thompson, but I really hope he's not the future husband.  I mean, it's Chad Michael Murray for god's sake.  I'd sooner have Anna turn out to be a cyborg/dead all along so that Peggy and Jarvis can get together.

I don't mind Thompson as a love interest, provided he indeed has hidden depths and will be humiliated for his behavior and realize he was a jerk. But i do suspect that if the show won't be renewed (which is very likely), the question about Peggy's husband will remain open for quite some time.

Do you really think so? They've put quite a bit of time and network support into AOS, which until they started shoehorning Ultron content into the hour wasn't doing much better than this. It seems as if this would be at least as good a bet for them.

And besides, Peggy is awesome, so they can use the time they spend trying to make Skye happen every week telling a story instead.

However, Dominic Cooper isn't listed as a guest star for SNAFU, although I would expect him for the season finale.

Same there is no way he isn't in the season finale.

I think that Thompson is prolly more of a nicer guy then they are letting on.

Word.  This show works extremely well as is.  No reason to shoehorn in a love interest.  She can get married after she's had another few years to be awesome.
