Wtf did I just watch? So many questions and concerns. Is Whit lip syncing? Why is she eating and why does she have frosting on her face? Does she not realize the song is a stereotype of fat girls? Who is this rapper? Why is the editing so awful? Did Whit require breaks for every 10 seconds of booty shaking? I am.....deeply disturbed.

So confused the rapper..had his kids come up at show (yes I watched more...quite fascinating) and he "rapped" all about nutrition, making  choices that  are healthy. and there is Whit, clapping along and sometimes swinging her arms. I am so confused...HELP!

PS, her TedX lecture seems to be about shaming the world back. I have sympathy for her story, but the TONE, feels like she wants retribution not understanding. So she wags her finger at the audience and the world. She just does not drawn me in because she seems so Caustic.

Just needed to see this said again :)

Haha I watch commercials from the 1970s for fun - now I've got something new to look up :)

Oh good heavens!  I am dying here.  I even had to jot down some "lyrics" to remember:

"a freak in the back but a lady up front" - Does "up front" refer to her sports bra and belly that are on constant display, or the fact that she drapes herself (in underpants and previously mentioned sports bra) across the sofa in the front room of a wedding gown store?

"honey I picked you like a big red juicy booger" - please tell me I heard that wrong!

"I have the sweetest muff that you've been dreaming of" - this part was when "Whitney" started caterwauling along to the "song"

For the record, I do not enjoy "rap" nor do I respect it as "art", which may be why I at least expected "Fitty Smallz" to be a foolish young man in his early 20s.  WTF?  This is just too too hilarious!  Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

It's actually "Honey, I picked you like a big, WET, juicy bugga"  A bugga is a rapper or a thug.

A proud moment for the Thore family. I can only imagine a “What is this?” in Trainer Will’s voice.

That made my afternoon!

Whitney and boogers just go better together for some reason...

Just checked the date of the videos.

Here's an interview with Smallz.  Whit's not the singer, and he gets her name wrong, and refers to her as Windy Way Thore.
http://www.healthfitnessrevolution.com/interview-with-fitness-rapper-fitty-smallz/

I was wondering about that because the female voice was really, really good.  And if that was Whitney, I would have had to actually say something good about her.  But, alas, it was not.

Saw coming attraction for next week. So Buddy was cheating on Heather. What a piece of shit.

Been on the receiving end many times. might as well take a knife and stab her in her heart.

Felt bad for Babs with the pig. I wonder if it was something he contracted at the farm.

As usual Whitney is just.....Whitney   . Her pouty lower lip when she told Babs about the pig reminds me of a bratty child  which I’m sure she was. Probably did it a lot when she didn’t get her way

If I knew Babs would never find out from anyone else, I wouldn't tell her the pig died.  I don't think it's a matter of "right to know"--why inflict such pain when there's nothing anyone can do about it?   And I don't think keeping news of a beloved pet's death is the narrow wedge of a whole heap of lying about other stuff.  I think Babs would be grateful.  It's my belief that failure to spread bad news, when knowledge of that news would do nothing but inflict pain, is not lying at all.  It's unselfish compassion.

Quote

There's a big difference between not disclosing health news, which could have an impact leading to constructive action, and concealing the death of a pet from someone who dies not need to know about it.  What harm can it possibly do to keep Babs in the dark?  Telling her can have only unhappy consequences, and there is nothing she can do to help the situation.  It has nothing to do with her being an adult; it has everything to do with inflicting pain needlessly.

I'll have to agree to disagree - I think it's incredibly disrespectful to keep the truth from Babs. She is an adult. The pig was her pet. Sure - maybe she won't ever find out (but I wouldn't want to place risk the trust of my mother by counting on that)- but why is there any sense at all the the people around Babs need to keep the world pretty and pleasant for her? What is everyone trying to protect her from? She'll mourn the loss and move on. It's patronizing and infantilizing to keep the news from her.

Moreover - not telling her is a lie of omission. Say I fail to tell my mother that I have a cancer diagnosis (hypothetically - I don't actually have cancer). There's nothing she can actually do about it. She won't find out about it any other way. But given that I'm pretty close to my mom, isn't it a little disrespectful of me not to tell her? I'd hate to do it. It would be difficult for both of us. But I'm going to give her the dignity of assuming that she has the strength and fortitude to deal with difficult things.

It would be different if Babs was on her own deathbed or something. But she isn't. She isn't some delicate flower that needs protection from the big bad sadnesses of the world.

Quote

I thought part of the process of sobriety is to apologize to the people he's hurt, and thus far, he's ghosted Heather, and bounced on paying Whitney any rent.

It's the eighth step. I'm guessing Buddy isn't there yet. I'm thinking he's probably still working on the first couple of steps.

And yet, Whit has been adamant about emphasizing her view that Babs has not only had “stroke brain” in the past, but that it’s a continuing problem existing to the present day. With that viewpoint, why would Whit risk bringing on such emotional devastation to Babs that it might trigger yet another stroke?

Um, I had not heard of that video. I looked it up and got halfway though it. I feel embarrassed for all involved, except Twit, who deserves every humiliating thing that happens to her at this point. That was one of the lamest things I have ever seen, and I regularly watch those "are you popular" type videos from the 1940s for kicks. I can't wait for my husband to get home so I can make him watch too!

What did you Google to find it?

If Whitney had been the least concerned about Babs' reaction to the news she would have collected herself first, maybe given her dad a heads up, before telling her mother.

When you know someone you know whether they would want to know the truth or not.  When my Daughter and I are driving along, and come upon some poor animal who has been hit by a car, I always ask my Daughter "What was that?" and she always says "That was just a paper bag".  I KNOW it wasn't, but I appreciate that she says that to me.  I would NEVER ask about a former pet (not that I would EVER give up a pet), and she would never tell me if it dies, and I appreciate that.  I suppose Whitney knew that Babs would want to know.  Either that, or she's just a Beast who wanted to make her Mother cry.

No thought was given to whether Babs would want to know or how she should break the news.  Whitney is a beast who wanted her mother to cry more than she did.  There was no excuse to tell Babs the way that she did.

This really sums it up. This forum has given more thought to the best way to respect Babs feelings in this whole situation than Whitney did. Her only consideration when dealing with someone else’s sadness or tragedy is how she can be right in the middle of it.

If I were Whitney's mother, watching Whit's behavior as played out on TV and youtube would be a lot more emotionally devastating than a dead pig.

ETA:  Just scrolled back up to show hubby the dwarf/corset picture.  Is that Heather on the right side?

Also, there is zero chance Whit would share her moment in the sun with one of her hangers-on.

I can't get the picture to load on this post.  But it's the girl with brown hair on the right side of the picture.  (I didn't watch the video.)

That's not Heather. If you watch the whole video, you won't see her in it.

However, Todd and Tal make brief appearances in the Gluteus Maximus video: at 1.16 minutes in, you see Todd, in green shorts and top do a split jump and a spin of some kind, then at 3:17, Tal, wearing a headband, is on the floor in a semi-split and Todd is behind him (same outfit) making a shocked face. Both moments go by in seconds, but at least you can tell Whitney fixed her buddies up. :-D

I can't claim the credit (or take the blame) for that. :-) Someone from this forum sent me the clips as a joke, in connection with the episode when Todd threw a hissy fit that Whitney would do the Fitness Marshall video without him.

Why wouldn’t she talk about her past as Fitty Smallz collaborator on MBFFL? She’s talked about everything but this. How did you guys know about this? Also, not cool pretending to be the girl singing, reminds me of those 90s one hit wonders with thin, young, beautiful black women singing in the videos when in fact it was an older, fat black woman. Or for Friends fans, the whole Smelly Cat video episode. Isn’t it funny how Whitney is the “face” this time. Wonder who the real singer is.

EXTRA FABULOUS RECAPS!!!

Scene 1, at a restaurant not in Greensboro. David (Buddy's buddy from rehab, who I shall now refer to as RehabBuddy) tells Buddy that he's been talking to his, erm, "buddies" and having them scope out some houses for them to do their whole sober living thing at. RehabBuddy knows that Buddy "is a big guy and needs space," so there's one house that doesn't have a lot of people there and might be better. RehabBuddy says that he literally does not know one single person who's NOT in recovery. Buddy talks about his fears regarding moving and having a new life, and says that his rehab counsellors are worried about him going back to Greensboro and using again. Buddy recommits to only wanting "to do this once" and RehabBuddy tells him "it's the right move." RehabBuddy nearly seems to be salivating at the prospect of getting Buddy ALL TO HIMSELF AT THE NEW HOUSE WITH LESS PEOPLE TO SHARE BUDDY WITH.

Scene 2, living room at Sweatney's house. Babs and Glenn are observing Sweatney's cats with her. Sweatney gives Glenn some shit about not paying for the cats, feeding them, sheltering them, or loving them - so what is his PROBLEM with them? In this short scene, Sweatney does a talking head where she states that she's glad Babs is on her side because it helps Babs see that Glenn cannot give up his control over Sweatney and cannot handle her having her own life. This, to be honest, is about the most cognizant statement I think I've ever heard come out of Sweatney's house. Also, the living room seems to be covered in a shitton of thick white mohair, signalling that she has probably given up on the whole cat hair thing.

Scene 3, Sweatney's living room at Buddy's 'goodbye' party. Right after the 'DO NOT SMILE' party, and Ashley is relating a stupid story about Glenn & Babs throwing a big-assed Hallowe'en party and how Ashley, Todd, and Sweatney couldn't figure out where this squeaky sound effect was coming from. Turns out, there was a decrepit old neighbor named Evelyn who was nearing the end of her days and was complimenting everyone from her yard, telling them how pretty/awesome they looked "in her high voice." They mimick poor old Evelyn, who they really thought was a pre-recorded Hallowe'en decoration, in her "high voice" and reveal that toward the end Evelyn couldn't really switch back to her 'real' voice. I really need that three minutes of my fucking life back, the hell.

Maybe Glen would give up control of Twit paid for or supported herself, and acted like an adult. He-who-couldn't-say-no and  No-Backbone Babs created this monster.

Oh my god, what the hell was she doing to that cat at the vet's office? That was disgusting and the cat was clearly not into it.

Rehab guy is apparently on the payroll now. Are they setting up a spin off Buddy show?

Heather needs to just get the fuck off it. Closure is a myth.

Whitney should not have more cats. She does not properly care for the ones she already has.

The burning stuff in the fire pit was so cliche that of course it was on this show. Of course.

Planting bushes. Holy shit, pretending to shovel was both beyond her acting capabilities, and her physical capabilities.

WHy would the pig people call Shitney? That makes no sense. It was Babs's pig.

This train just never stops crashing.
