MTV Promoting Teen Pregnancy

Damn you, MTV. Now I'm going to have to start clearing out my DVR for another snark-fest show. 

What happened MTV? I thought teen pregnancy was at an all-time low thanks to your shit shows? Evidently, there are plenty more teen moms willing to be a slave to you for the almighty dollar. 

What happened to the Real Teen Moms from South Carolina or whatever that show was titled that nearly sent Cate back to rehab?

Young + Pregnant will be just as ridiculous when they are in their 30s with three different kids from three different guys.

Cate responded to Tiffany who is from New Jersey.

If anyone in my real life got a hold of my TM hard drive I would immediately move to another country and live under an assumed name.

The ad they showed for this tonight really did not sit well with me. The Teen Mom shows are a hot mess now but 16 and Pregnant did show us much more of the challenges that come with being a teen mom. They had a couple of tough looking moments in the trailer for this show tonight but they also had these girls posing for maternity photo shoots and waxing poetic about their "bumps." Not cool, MTV. Not cool.

I think MTV reads here. 

I believe they are gifting us this show. We have commented how we enjoy this group and how much we enjoy each other's snark. We have mentioned if TMOG and TM2 were canceled, this group would no longer exist. MTV wants to ensure we are here for a very long time. lol

I came across this article about the back story on how Teen Mom came to be with info from each of the cast members on how they were chosen. Morgan J. Catelynn Lowell: My adoption counselor got an email that said MTV was looking for girls between the age of 15 and 17, who were pregnant, and who were considering adoption. [My then-boyfriend, now husband] Tyler was like, "Hey, we should try this." He’s the one who filled the application out. When we found out [MTV wanted us for the show], the reason we said yes was because we were the only parents choosing adoption. I remember I told Tyler, "Young people need to know what adoption looks like these days and how it works." We agreed if it ever ended up turning into, like, some scripted, they-just-want-drama show, we would have quit.

I posted the same question in another topic.  Here is my post on the show:  

The new show definitely needs its own thread before the moderators get mad at us!  :)

Maci's narratation was very stilted.  And I didn't need to hear about how much she relates to the moms on the show.

I find Danae and the baby mama (can't remember her name) interesting because of the fact that Danae is not the father and chose to help raise the baby.  The fact that he is transgender also opens up some interesting storylines.

I also like Ashley, the minister's daughter.  She seems articulate. 

Not sure how much I'll watch, though.
