Did anyone notice WG tap YNB to make her stop talking, so MM could talk? That pissed me off. MM inturupts everyone, but they all have to stop so princess can make her point. I'm guessing that WG told daddy McCain that she'd look after MM while on the show. That's all I can come up with. WG seems to go out of her way to make sure princess can get her talking points out there. MM is supposed to be a tough chick, but I don't see it.

Someone else mentioned she said to Sunny "we have all the power" ok then, stop saying the Democrats shut down the government.

I wish the ladies had brought up all the companies laying people off . Joy is right a few more dollars in you check isn't worth what is coming down the pike....but Republicans have all the power. This is  going to be a mess, and am very worried.

And for someone who claims she’s “gangsta” and a “tough chick,” she’s really proving herself to be a ❄️ when it comes to sex.

Meghan wrote a book titled Dirty Sexy Politics so her newfound pearl clutching over sexual topics is ridiculous.

I think folks can choose or not to choose to watch or support ANY actor/celebrity for any reason. I don't get why anyone has to explain to Whoopi (who consistently irks me on this issue) that she or any other actor is not entitled to the next paycheck. Yes, Whoopi, "there but for the grace of God ..." especially when Joy mentioned Mel Gibson. I GET that Whoopi had a big drop in bookings and maybe even cancellations when she "stepped in it." Her career can end at any time - like the majority of entertainers, many of which NEVER "hit it big." As I am somewhat practical minded, I am of the opinion that folks that DO come into Big Coin in their careers should bank as much as possible and FUND those lean years ahead - FUND your retirement account. (Really, we should all do that, but it is hard enough to get started in life making regular coin like most regular folks) And I get that expenses are super high and net pay isn't the millions that are reported - but DAMN - Whoopi SHOULD have EFF YOU $$$ saved up. Yes, she has a large family, etc. Take care of Numero Uno, and minor children - the rest is to be carefully spent!! I don't care how rich you are!! Money IN, and Money OUT, Easy come, easy GO!! So, Kathy G can also STUFF IT - she made MILLIONS and I used to watch her in her glamorous home - how much did she spend on plastic surgery ALONE??? I have ZERO sympathy - go live off your RETIREMENT money - near 60? PLAN AHEAD. And I did not find her stunt all that OMG!! Yes, "shocking" to make a point. It was when her pocket book was feeling a bit more empty that she panicked. And looked weak. "I'm sorry." Oh well.

I may even "support" folks, and NEVER go spend my discretionary money on, say, a movie to "show my support." I spend money on a movie if I think it might be fun. If I don't think Mel Gibson is talented, that may be the reason I don't go see his movies. Could be ANY NUMBER of things. I really can't believe how expensive movies ARE!! Let alone some popcorn, pop and a box of snowcaps.

Meghan is just strange - I can not figure out her thinking - poor fit, sour face - I hope they are just "being polite" and they will decide to let her go "soon." Perhaps a Mutual parting of the Ways - bring on Ana, or Yvette. Or both - dump Whoopi while "we" are at it.

Whoopi was annoying me during the fame discussion. Yvette was making a lot of great points as someone in the public eye, but Whoopi had to disagree because she's a star and has her stuff together. Fame does have a lot of baggage and just because you don't experience it doesn't mean it's the same for others.

This was infuriating me.  YNB was making some really good/fair points about the "negative" effects of fame and how you lose your annonimity and how that is something that you long for.  Whoopi big star had to come in and "correct" her. Also Whoppi completely missed her point, YNB was talking about anonymity and solace.  That is one thing that is the epitome of why Whoppi has gone down in mine and a lot of people's estimation; her know it all attitude.  Just once I would love for her to listen to someone else's opinion and say "You know, I never thought of it that way, that is a great point".

Whoopi never allows herself to appear vulnerable or human. All her stories are about how she doesn't need anyone, she doesn't want to be around anyone, and/or how she's a hero. She never joins in when they are going around the table saying their most embarrassing moment or anything. The only time I can remember her admitting to being imperfect is her fear of flying.

Did they ever explain on Thursday why Amber Tamblyn didn't appear? I was looking forward to seeing her. (Ooooops! Nevermind! She's the guest host on Friday.)

OH, goodie. An hour of Whoopi eating. Just what we want to see.

Can we replace Meghan with Amber?  What a smart, well spoken young woman.

Looks like Rand Paul goes to the same tanning salon as Trump.  Good lord.

Gals, if you recorded Colbert last night be sure to watch it to see MM in all her uni-boob glory dressed in head to toe red. Yep, she was on his show. I think she said "my father" 17 times. But her hair looked terrific in a long pony, that's all I'll say.

I posted about it in his show's thread. I didn't know whether I'd get in trouble for posting about it here. Damage control, maybe?

I didn’t know who the guest co-host was, but I liked her on the show today. I especially appreciated her point that there needs to be a large percentage of women in any group (politics, directors, etc.) to make a significant change. Don’t look to one woman in an organization with a large majority of men and judge her for the fact that all the problems women are facing still exist.

I'm glad Joy and Whoopi didn't let Rand Paul get away with speaking out both sides of his mouth re: classified information.

The video of the father in the courtroom was heartbreaking. So sad that he might be in trouble for having a natural human reaction to the fact that his daughters were abused by that p.o.s.

The View people should take a closer look at how The Chew manages food.  Instead of making 10 sandwiches, 5 of each kind, for the women, make just two, and cut them up so everyone has a taste.  Especially when it's only the FIRST of many plates of food featured on the show.  They don't each need to have two sandwiches (sorry, Rachel likes to call them "sammies") a loaded hot dog, etc.  It's hard to bite into a full sandwich and then talk, but it's a lot easier to "taste" a bite of food and still be able to say "yum, delicious"  and then move on to talking about something else.

I'm not crazy about how they have this format whenever they have food - someone is cooking in the background, and in between topics, they go to the cook, describe the dish, eat, talk about something else, then more cooking, present food, eat, back to a topic. it's all disjointed.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't be the only person who doesn't watch football, couldn't care less about the Superbowl, and does not feel responsible for being in the kitchen cooking up a bunch of unhealthy food for people to eat wile watching it.

Our local news showed the judge talking to the dad afterward.  She let him off with the promise he'd not cause any more trouble. He gave a heartfelt apology.

That clip was hard to watch. Couldn't they just pull his arms behind him instead of throwing him to the ground and twisting his neck? There were three of them. Those poor daughters

What the hell happened about halfway into the show? I wish one of us was an audience member, today.

Whoopi introduced the topic of the "Annual Singles in America Survey 'Funded by Match.com" about good sex. She said turned the topic over to the table saying, "Anybody? I'm eating a hotdog."

They all laughed, then Joy started to read from her notes on the survey (which I swear was a Match.com plug): "They said 15% of women said they would have sex with..." when she was interrupted by a loud (and I believe male) laugh coming from the audience. It was enough to stop Joy in her tracks. She looked around to spot the laugher.

As Joy tried to resume her talking point, Amber kind of looked over her shoulder and said, "Sir. Sir." Whoopi turned around, too. Sunny laughed. Meghan seemed to have her eyes trained on Whoopi's back. Then I think the guy said something (they never showed him, but I could hear his voice, if not the words). The audience let out a (nervous?) laugh. Meghan gave her best Valley Girl "Oh my God!"

Amber turned again and said, "Will someone please escort the 10 year old out?"

With bunless wiener in hand, Whoopi chuckled.

Joy was going to start again, then waved her hand and said, "Whatever," so Sunny took up the topic.

I damn near fell off my couch when MM actually said she thought someone had been beheaded in regards to the Kathy Griffin photo. Please let that sink in: she thought Kathy Griffin beheaded someone for a photo shoot.

I thought she was ridiculous too, but not like that. I don't think she was saying she thought Kathy Griffin beheaded anyone, or was holding a real head. I think her claim is that she saw a picture of someone what seemed to be a severed human head, thought it was real, and then realized what it was.

Yes please, to the first. I watched that young woman grow up on General Hospital and Joan of Arcadia. I have this weird, unearned pride in how she turned out. I would love her as a host (or to just be on my TV regularly), but I doubt they could get her.

I thin that was just bad makeup on Rand Paul. I still wish I understood what happened with Rand Paul and that neighbor.

What was Whoopi's point she was making with the father who tried to attack the pedophile who molested his daughters? I couldn't follow what she was trying to say? Could someone explain.

I think she was trying to say she was glad the judge took the time to explain that we can't do that (i.e. vigilante justice), but she is not an articulate person. I can see having her on the show. I don't understand why she's the moderator. She doesn't have the tools.

Why was Meghan ever under the impression that Justin Timberlake was doing a country album? And why would she want him to?

She's just making fun of him.  His new album is "Man of the Woods", and the cover art shows him with trees around him.   This is the second time that MM has mentioned "I thought it was a country album!"  Because, you know, country is the music of "her people".

Ana is back next week, which makes it seem like she's getting a spot at the table soon. I'm excited about Star though. She did have her crazy period, but she does have a good rapport with Joy the last time they were on. Plus, I don't think she's the type to let others steamroll her. So Meghan and Whoopi's reactions will be interesting to watch.

Today Sunny skillfully corrected Whoopi without making it seem like a correction.  Whoopi was blathering on about how she liked this female judge and she was referring to how she handled the dad, but also how she handle the actual proceedings with having all the victims read their statements.  But it looks like it is two different female judges, but Whoopi was implying it was the same one.  Sunny later nicely said how it was great that two female judges handled this case.  And Whoopi just rolled with that but you could see she was bit surprised.

Elsa kept trying to get into the convo with quoting the victims and stating other condemnations, but for some reason Whoopi got annoyed with that because the whole point was about the judge.

I am on my couch with the flu. I am posting only shallow observations; I don't have the energy for more.

Rachael mentioned she was making sliders and the audience erupts  in deafening applause and raucous screams that the audience stimulator has demanded.  She immediately did the hand gesture on her neck that says, cut it. I loved her for that.  I wonder if the audience on her show is calmer.

Football food is brown. I don't like football.

The humorless and prim MM had good hair today.

Trump and Rand, lose the goggles when you get sprayed.  Nitwits

How stupid does Meghan have to be to wonder if the shooting of Representative Scalise was political, when the shooter said it was political?

She wanted to label the shooter as a crazy Dem.  Credit to Paul for not letting her get that far.

All I can guess is someone made a crude remark about the hotdog.

I will be so glad when the SuperBowl is over because on every frickin' frackin' talk show they are making Philly cheese steaks. I must have seen it a dozen times in the last week.  Don't they eat anything else in Philadelphia?

Get better soon, Wings!

Oh please go watch Steven Colbert's show last night online.  Staying with my shallow theme today, her hair was fabulous.

I watched a few minutes of it. That's all I could tolerate. I don't get the love for her hair. It was pulled back and a fake long extension was the ponytail. She had harsh makeup on. I think she looks better with a softer look. I like her with Rick Perry (I'm smart now that I'm wearing glasses) glasses because they contrast well with her fair features and hair. Excuse my shallow criticism.

Why didn't Meghan, as the official political commentator, ask Rand Paul any questions? I don't believe she made a peep while he was on the show.

He was not too far out there. He said that he is for the legalization of marijuana.  Whoopie was very happy to hear this, she softened a  bit.  He said that the criminalization of marijuana affects Black men disproportionately, when it comes, to being put in prison. That is not something that Megan and her people  want to hear.  I could say more, but, I will leave it at that..

Just take a seat, Whoopi.

And OMGEE!!!! Little Emily Quartermain Amber Tamblyn is ALL GROWN UP!!!

Yes she does look better with softer hair but we rarely see that.  This fake ponytail was so much better than the braids.  She has thin very fine straight hair.  If she is not willing to go shoulder length then pulling it back and adding a hair piece is the way to go.  It is all relative.

I thought it interesting that she was anxious for her dad to get back to DC so he could stand up to Trump.  What?  She defends him on a daily basis!

I don't know if she defends Trump so much as she defends "her team".  I think a lot of what she says on the View is to play to the Republican base.   I think she wants to run for her dad's Senate seat when he is no longer here.
