Hey, Reade's dumb strident girlfriend. I'm fine with her telling the refugees about their right to counsel, but running towards gunfire is too stupid to be borne. Like catastrophically dumb.

The bad guy's plan seemed to be needlessly complicated and arcane. He brings refugees to the US, creates false paper trails, bombs a building, and frames the refugees so that it will be harder for refugees to enter the country all so that he can continue to get more money for his fake refugee organization. It seems like he could just continue to run his fake organization because the need is huge and it's hard to really audit.

Screw Jane. She's pissed that Weller killed her dumb daughter, but her dumb daughter ran into the business end of a bullet just like Reade's colossally stupid girlfriend was about to do. I thought her problem was that he kept it from her. Now it's that he shot Avery when she wasn't supposed to be in the middle of a fire fight. And clearly Jane has no issue with lies because she never bothered to tell Weller that she was banging her kidnap retrieval partner.

As always, Roman's side of the mystery is more interesting. His fake girlfriend's dad seems to be behind every crime on the planet.

Took me a second to place Jim True-Frost as the main villain.  He looks much older then I expected, likely because he'll always be Prez from The Wire to me.

Hey, Reade's girlfriend is back.  Although, the fact that she can't follow simply instructions like "Hey, hide here because we have fucking gunmen after us" makes me think she's either very dumb or evil, and wanted them to die for some reason.  Also, Reshma Shetty's American accent is making her come off very bland.

Seems like Jane has her own secrets, like she apparently had an affair Clem dude even though she was still married (and "loved") to Weller.  Maybe not as bad as "accidentally shot your daughter" (even though, again, it was due to her not following instructions), but still kind of shitty.  I'm kind of having my doubts about them as a couple.

Honestly, Roman's stuff is becoming the highlight now, thanks to Luke Mitchell, Tori Anderson being gorgeous, and Anthony Lemke bring the smugness and snark, even if it still just makes me miss Dark Matter.  Although, I'm going to love the ways they keep excusing the father's absence, since they likely can only afford David Morse for a certain amount of episodes.

Luke Mitchell continues to be smoking hot. I know that he's a psychopath, but he is just so good as Roman. I'm guessing Crawford's daughter is going to die by the season finale. I am trying to figure out if Roman is developing real feelings for her, but I doubt it because he's too "broken to love."

Now that Roman set Weller up and Jane's daughter is alive, I guess there is another hurdle in the Jane-Weller saga by her sleeping with another guy. Dumb writers. Also, stop making Reade's girlfriend (she will always be Divya to me) act so stupid. At least he seems to care about him and Zapata is the only one who looks angsty. I do admit to liking her and Reade together but I'm okay with new girlfriend.

So Roman sent the trio to Reade's girlfriend. Soon Patterson will find surveillance footage of her receiving a large payment from Roman and we'll be adding pimp to his "impressive" resume.

Next episode, we will learn Roman was wearing fake fingerprints.

I will keep the "I miss Dark Matter" going. Curse you Syfy!

Is the actor playing Clem the same actor who played Fiona's shotgun wedding husband on Shameless? It's been a while since I saw that season but I think so. I actually really like him and with Jane, so it sucks that he doesn't stand a chance (since the Jeller is real). I wonder how Weller will react to learning that Jane's cheated on him multiple times while he was bankrupting himself trying to find her. Maybe he'll consider it even after the business with her daughter but this could end up being even more angst for them.

So what were they suggesting at the end, that Roman paid Avery to meet up with Weller? Or was she paying him for the information about Jane? They explained the coin heist stuff from the last episode, so I'm sure they'll clear this one up for me in the next episode.

I was liking Reade's girlfriend until she ran out with the refugees. Oh my god. I'm wondering if she'll be killed off because she's clearly too stupid to live she and Reade seemed very concerned about her story going on the front page. Maybe he should have her stay in the FBI headquarters for safekeeping since their security detail and safehouses aren't very secure.

It seemed like the bad guy's assistant got the upper hand with the fingerprints on the shot glass but knowing Roman, he probably wore ultra-thin gloves or put some solution on his fingers to obscure his prints, or he knew what was going to happen and has already gone missing. Because he's always one step ahead.

I assume Roman has already broken into every place that might have his fake identity's fingerprints on file and replaced them with his. As to Roman's own fingerprint file with the FBI, it's probably sealed because everything having to do with the tattoos always seems to need top level clearance.

Roman's going full Night Manager and I'm all for it. And yep: Also team 'Missing Dark Matter. Also team 'Give Roman his spin-off and hire the whole remaining DM cast'.

Oh look: Roman actually set up the thing that he used to blackmail Weller with, what a surprising twist *headdesk*

Clem comes right out of the soap opera tool kit - as if the lost daughter hadn't been bad enough already.

And to add injury to insult: no Rich to somehow salvage this meh episode.

The need to give Weller a giant injection of Damien Scott and Jane a giant injection of STFU and you're off the show. A couple of spinoff shows, one with Roman roaming the world and the other with Patterson and Rich Dotcom getting up to various shenanigans would be very welcome.

At this point Jane is a drag on this show. Too much baggage and pouty bitchiness. There can't possibly be another level of tattoos so all the essential components of her character are done.

Well, it wasn't quite a "nuke the fridge" moment, but it was ludicrous.  A bomb that will take out a load bearing wall from the inside of a hardshell suitcase will be perfectly safe in a commercial reefer?

It would have been great fun if Patterson had brought up footage of Avery and Roman in the room while talking to Weller, and suddenly Avery's unzipping his pants, and....  "Delete, delete, delete! Nothing to see here, Weller."

From the shallow end of the pool, Jane looks a lot better with longer hair than that straw broom haircut she's worn throughout the show.

Loved the moment when Patterson is explaining that Reade and his girlfriend are living together, and Weller stumbles into "Why?", leading Patterson to go with the obvious, but wayward explanation.

Seriously! Blindspot is a collection of shows that vary along a spectrum of must watch to serious hate boner.

  • Roman deciding to Pretender all over the globe to stop a criminal mastermind is a must watch for me

  • Patterson and Rich Dotcom's cybertech buddy comedy is also really entertaining
  • Tasha and Reade's FBI/CIA version of Moonlighting is an occasionally watchable diversion, but not something I'd like to see every week
  • When Weller does crazy impossible Strikeback type things, he's entertaining
  • Jane discovering new hidden Long Kiss Good Night-ish skills is fun
  • Jane being a sanctimonious hypocrite is awful
  • Focus on the Jane and Weller romance is the pits

I actually am thinking that "Avery" is not Jane's daughter at all and was just hired by Roman to set Weller up.

I am not liking Jane very much right now. We should be empathizing with her, but to me, her behavior towards Weller somehow comes off as a bit petulant and even unreasonable. Come to learn that she also cheated on Weller.

That's what I am thinking, too.

I am enjoying Roman more and more. I was not really into the character this season but he's winning me over.

I o not like that Jane cheated on Weller. I guess we will see where it will all lead.

I am dense, because I finally made the connection that the actress who plays Roman's rich girlfriend is the same actress who was the lead character from the short lived "No Tomorrow".  She looks way different and way more glamorous.   And the guy who plays her babysitter is one of the guys from "Dark Matter".
