The lunch at Lisa's was great and I'd much prefer those and dinner parties to this weird live-action anime I'm being forced to watch. Did that child say "give head" in front of her mother?

It seems Dorit kind of sealed her fate as the villain this year.  What a dope.  Good gravy can she ever stop complaining?  I don't know how Kyle and LVP can stand to be around her.  From Camille's blog:  "I enjoy my time with Kyle and Lisa V, but I’m not so sure about their new best friend."

Dorit has picked an odd time to keep her mouth shut.  She should be tweeting or at least writing a blog.

Dorit was really an asshole in every single scene she was in tonight.  Her outfits have all been misses this season and I swear her boobs were not as ridiculous last season either.  My enjoyment of her was shallow and is fading fast.

Ever since Erika waxed poetic about her DSLs I can't help but notice that they are usually drawn on poorly.  I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared, but now the crooked lines and wonky corners are all I can see.

I don't know anyone in Southern California that has a back up generator.  We don't have a lot of power outages and definitely not extended ones.  We don't have a lot of extreme weather that would cause outages.  I can think of one big multi-day outage in LA in the last 20 years. 

 

ETA thinking about it more, I know someone that has a generator at their vacation cabin in Big Bear, but that's kind of a different situation since it is in the mountains and there's snow and it is more remote and not in the city.

I wonder if Dorit didn't tell herself (or be told by production) that nature abhors a vacuum and has decided to fill the loudmouthed-asshole slot that's been vacant for a while.  I think they really need the paycheck and this is the way she thinks she'll hang on to it.

I also wonder if Erika's glam squad isn't getting kickbacks to showcase some of those comical clothes.  Or getting deep discounts while Mr. Girardi is being billed full price, with the difference going into someone's pocket.  She really is the walking definition of "fashion victim."

Glen is overweight--significantly.  I don't see any point in denying it.  And the fact is that in shallow Beverly Hills that's a disqualification for many if not most jobs.  So it seems to speak well both for Kyle for seeing past what a lot of her cohorts would see and for his professional skills.  Every party he's planned has been beyond beautiful.

Very true! And a backup generator costs a fortune to install and maintain for something that might be used maybe a handful of times, ever. I worked for a family in BH and they had me look into it when they had a couple outages due to knocked power line. At the end of the day, they can afford to spend a night at the Four Seasons and order takeout. The generator doesn't make sense for them.

But I'm wondering why they kept that in the episode at all. Production obviously had a genny onsite for their needs. I don't know why they didn't throw up a couple courtesy lights and scrap Kyle's C-plot. Dorit alone provided sufficient drama at dinner.

Oh, I got no end of enjoyment watching the light slowly dawn on Teddi that Dorit is maybe, just perhaps a tad, a teeny bit obsessed on the subject of Lisa Rinna and not a very nice person. And that all of Dorit's protests to the contrary, whatever shit went down between them is still first and foremost for her. She insists to all and sundry (but not to Lisa's face) that Lisa is a schizophrenic, a pill addict and probably kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.

Dorit couldn't have just been on a shot or two of tequila at Kyle's. Oh no. She came to that party loaded. She gave everyone around her shit about everything. It got so bad that even PK (who has the observational acuity of a brick wall) told her to calm her tits.

She bitched out LVP at the photo shoot. What was that about? She needed to have her glam squad or nothing? From some of the looks they've ginned up for her, she might want to audition some new squad members.

OK. I don't like her. I never have. Letting my freak flag fly.

I like watching Glenn, too. Kyle has a great rapport with him, and I like listening in on the “behind the scenes” talk, even though it’s not usually all that long.

Dorit and all her complaining at Kyle's was just too much.  She is rude and a horrible guest (she is a horrible hostess as well). You know it's bad if you're in a room full of people, including PK, & YOU are the one to make people cringe, Dorit. There were at least 8 other people around the table and no one else bitched as much as Do-Do-Dorit. It's one thing to kid around with Kyle about the power outage, and make a joke out of it. But then, you drop it. Enjoy the food, the company and compliment the hostess on "powering" through a crazy situation.  And when she asked Kyle if she had any fans to help cool down the party, I really wish Kyle looked at her and said, "And just where would we plug these fans in, you moron?  There. Is. No. Power."  Or did Drunky McDrunkerson expect Kyle and Mauricio to get palm fronds and manually wave them around her & sweaty pig-man PK? Can't wait for Dorit's "sorry, not sorry" explanation of her awful behavior. Better get my optic nerves and muscles in shape for all the pending eye rolling ahead.

Add me to the group who doesn't see the model-esque beauty in those Hamlin girls.They're pretty, but not stand out stunning IMO.  And Lisa Rinna reeeeallly wants to be Kris KarTrashian-Jenner, doesn't she? I guess if young girls think the KarTrashian spawn are "inspirational", then the dopey fame whore parents must think Kris is the epitome of a "great mom".

This episode was kind of ho-hum. Too much of Rinna and her spawn in Tokyo. She's not even trying to hide the fact that she wants them to be the next Kardashians....or Haddids. It's kind of embarrassing to watch. Almost as embarrassing as talking to your daughter about blowies. 

I get that Erika fancies herself a fashion risk taker (I don't follow fashion, so I really don't know if she is or not), but I think she should attempt to try and dress for the activity she's doing. And how did she not know it's the norm to take off your shoes in Asian homes??? 

 

Dorit was really on fire this episode wasn't she? First she's flipping out because LVP didn't give her enough time to prepare for the photo shoot, or allow her to use her own "glam squad", then she's getting drunk as fuck and making an absolute fool of herself at Kyle's. You know it's bad when Maurico has to tell you to zip it. 

I'm glad Kyle still went on with her party with no power. I once hosted my son's daughter's birthday party with no power. In August. It can happen to any of us.

Oh, I so agree. I cannot stand that Kevin Lee, or whatever his name is. Glenn seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy, but he puts on a nice party.

If I had to choose between Glenn and Kevin (LVP's event planner), I'll take Glenn everytime.  I like that he is down to earth, doesn't put on airs, seems to do a lot of the work himself, and pulls off a beautiful party.

And, again, we had to hear Erika announce the designer label of her clothes.  It's tiresome - we know all these ladies wear mostly high end labels/designers - enough already!!  

But, as soon as Erika and Rinna walked into that restaurant/home, I knew Erika was going to have to remove her shoes/boots.  I loved that!  I think that Erika wears everything designer, and she does it as a confirmation that she is rich and can afford it.  She wears her designer garments/shoes like an armor as protection against where she came from/what she was.  Having to remove her Gucci boots removed a bit of that armor.

The Rinna girls have the cute but average look of high school girls.  I can see them being used for campaigns aimed at the young pre-teen market to schill goods for the buy this to be in the popular group market.

The Hadid girls are a blank canvas with just enough of a European boredom look to pull off the high end modeling.  I did see however on the Wendy Williams show a comparison photo and it looks like the Hadid girls acquired the sharp cheekbones and sculpted noses from plastic surgery.  The photo comparison was very interesting.

It bothered me that Erika cursed in front of the elderly woman playing the stringed instrument.  I know the elderly woman probably did not recognize the word, but it was very disrespectful, in my opinion. I am still trying to figure out how the conversation at Kyle's dinner got so turned around to Dorit calling Camille a c*nt.  I know there was some conversation about having more children, and Camille said to Mauricio that wasn't in the cards because she no longer has a uterus.  I think Dorit made another comment, and Camille said something about not having a penis and testicles, either.  Then, Dorit babbled about starting a line of strap-ons, using Camille's name on the product, and the next thing we see is Dorit, over-dramatically saying "Camille, you're a bleeping c*nt".  

I'm totally NOT excusing Dorit's horrible behavior, but it seems, to me, like there are bits of that conversation that are missing.  Or, Dorit is just a rude, classless drunky drunk.  (Maybe I should go with the latter assessment!)

They have edited the dinner conversations horribly this year. The one between Erika and Teddi (where Teddi was taking about her father) was confusing because the responses Erika made to Teddi made no sense in the context of their conversation. This one last night was even more of a mess. Clearly there was a ton of stuff we didn't see as the dinner probably lasted for a couple of hours. I think they were just trying to show us the most dramatic parts, without giving us the stuff in between that got us to the drama. But clearly Dorit was a hot mess from beginning to end. When Mauricio, who is a most gracious host, is motioning that you need to quiet down, and PK - a man with no manners - is doing the same, you have gone way to far. 

Speaking of Mauricio. I just love him. I don't think he was trying to protect Camille at all. As others have mentioned, he doesn't have a business relationship with Camille any longer. I think he was trying to protect Dorit from making a bigger fool of herself, or starting more drama and turning the entire evening into a shit show.  It was completely refreshing to me to see someone who didn't seem to want for the drama to escalate. I get PK wanting her to STFU because they are married and he would want to protect her, but it was nice to me that Mauricio very subtly tried to stop the insanity.

I get what you are saying. It seemed edited or something. Couple of thoughts crossed my mind 1) Dorit is now besties with Kyle, so perhaps she's heard about some business disappointments and Mauricio was afraid she'd blurt that out. In this way, drunken Dorit would be "sticking up" for her friends by showing contempt for someone she perceives as having mistreated them (but bad way to do it, no argument from me on that).

And, as you point out Njbchlover, the whole scene seemed a little chopped up. It does seem like there could have been a bunch of stuff said that we didn't see. So I call some editing shenanigans. I think Dorit, for whatever reason, is this show's Alexis, and isn't well liked by Andy Cohen, and that's reflected in what we see on the shows.

Agree with all of this. Mauricio is very low drama. Always has been. I think he was just trying to prevent things from escalating.

This is a weird left out part:   He had just finished meeting the group when Dorit starts with the outrageous and inappropriate comments. Why would PK and Dorit ask me to be the godfather if they were to have another child. Bizarre request even if it was a joke.  From Camille's blog.

There is no excuse for Dorit's behavior and finally we have the host stepping up in Mauricio with the sshhh gesture.

I really didn't take much stock in Dorit's claim she is a perfectionist and over readies everything but the scenes at the magazine shoot and then her continuing monologue about all that is wrong with the party convinced me she is in overdrive when it comes to her appearance.  I would like to suggest to Dorit she stop wearing head ornaments with every outfit.   

I really wanted LVP to pull Dorit's headscarf over her mouth-sometimes a dinner napkin is not enough.

I understood why the power going/unfinished remodeling out wasn't cause for cancelling.  They had a full crew, caterer, 10 or so cast members and their spouses/guests and a situation that only affected Kyle's home.  It is probably not an easy task to get the entire cast together for an event.   It looked to like they started filming in the late afternoon and had several hours of daylight still in August.  I do believe production is giving Dorit a little payback for most likely onerous demands and tardiness.

As with any HWs dinner or lunch scene, always be on the look out for what is on their plates, how much liquid is in the glasses, who is sitting next to whom, is there someone in the background, etc. And see if anything changes and/or reappears from scene to scene...

Nope I wasn't referencing how well they knew each other, just how long they knew each other.
