We really have no idea how much Maci drinks.  If you knew me only through social media, you'd think I was a raging alcoholic who's always on vacation, because that's the only times I tend to post.  Jumping to the assumption that she's an alcoholic and just as bad as Ryan seems really unfair.  It feeds into the whole mom shaming movement, everything to what they feed their kids, to how tight they make the car seat straps.  It's ridiculous to me how judgy people are when it comes to moms.  Meanwhile, the men are applauded for simply showing up.

lol@ the men comment. The only men on this show are Gary and Jo. They should be applauded.  They do more than just show up. They have come a long way from the early seasons so, yes, I will applaud them. I will applaud them loud and clear. That is what one calls growth and maturity. It shows change. It shows that even though they were both victims of abuse, they don't wallow in any self-pity.

As for the rest of the guys, not sure when anyone of them has been applauded. There is a difference between pointing out a wrong being committed against them and applauding them for undeserved behavior.

I don't know how much Maci drinks, but I will speculate and base my opinions. By the way, I do know she drank during her pregnancy. That's enough for me to be judgy against her.

I wasn't policing peoples comments, I was stating my own opinion.  If you want to call Maci an alcoholic, go for it.  I happen to disagree.

Again, in my opinion, moms (not just those on teen mom) are held to a much higher standard than their male counterparts.  I prefer to share my snark equally :)

I get what's you're saying. I really do. And I happen to agree with you, in general. Women are held to a different standard than men in *everything*, including parenting, and it's very frustrating.  But in this specific case, I don't think that's true. Maci is the one who chooses to take selfies of herself holding up beer cans. Maci drank so much at a public event while pregnant that her hangover treatment was covered by multiple teen mom fan sites. Maci allows herself to be filmed while drinking in almost every scene. You are correct that none of us can diagnose Maci as an alcoholic but she has given the public plenty of reason to wonder.

Hey, I got what you were saying! I love your snark and have always thought that it was spread pretty evenly amongst the "mothers" (in parentheses because, you know) and "fathers."

Judging these fools and making fun of them is just, well, FUN! I mean, of course in real life (and if we knew them) we'd be more lenient, mostly because we'd get a fuller picture. But coming here to joke around about what we're seeing on our television screens, man, that's kind of the highlight of my day.

@Tatum and @SPLAIN  agree. 

Maci has never come out and even said, "Sure I had a few beers here and there while pregnant" which wouldn't be an issue as plenty of females have had alcoholic drinks during pregnancies. I wouldn't bat an eye at that being the case. It is the hard-core drinking, the shots, getting so drunk and hung-over, and then slamming the idea that she ever drank at all during her pregnancy.  Even Taylor was quoted as saying "No one ever started a party with milk." [paraphrasing]  At least he came out and admitted that yes, they like their alcohol beverages. They are adults. They have that right. Over-indulging and putting your fetus in harm's way (and smoking no doubt) will get you some major shade thrown at you.

He never called her the C word. He called out Taylor as a c*********. I just watched the scene again and it was never said by Larry.

I just responded to you in the other thread, but I think Larry calls Taylor a c********* in a previous episode, not the episode in this thread. So, if he did call Maci the C word, it was not in the same instance that he called Taylor a CS. But I never actually saw  a scene where Larry called Maci that.

Butch is pitiful, but I'm guilty in that I feel sorry for him after seeing his visit with the shrink (Tyler was there, too) when he told about his childhood.  

Since TM is considered Reality TV I'd rather see ten more of Butch than one impeccable Macy.

I lost any pity for Butch when he marched himself over to meet Carly after B&T specifically asked him not to. He's an adult long past childhood. It's time he moved past (notice I didn't say he can get over it) blaming all of his shortcomings and poor decisions on a bad childhood. Nobody cares, Butch. Grow the hell up.

I'm sorry, but i have a hard time thinking Maci should've known the extent of Ryan's drug issues when his own family & girlfriend allowed him to be filmed on a tv show. Heck, i gasped when he said heroin. Now she's doing what she can to further protect Bentley and she's still getting flack?

My personal theory is that Maci knew there was a problem (for how long and how serious she thought it was, I can’t say), but also thought that Jen and Larry were taking care of Bentley during Ryan’s parenting time. Not a completely unreasonable assumption given Ryan’s history of being Big Brother Daddy. So I basically think that Maci thought Jen mostly took care of Bentley while Ryan stopped by every now and then to play water guns for a few minutes and Jen kept an eye on making sure Ryan was sober if he was ever alone with Bentley. Not a great plan, but Maci’s not the best with good plans and has a bit of a party girl steak so maybe she really did think Ryan’s use was weekend recreational. I think the impaired driving did take her by surprise and hence the no Bentley time without Maci being there rule going on now. I’m not sure she ever really trusted Ryan, but she did trust Larry and Jen and now I think that’s gone too.

Years? Damn, I’m sorry. The only think I’ve ever detoxted from was cigarettes and I don’t think there was any PAWS stuff involved. I used a e-cigarette to get me over the hump of having a drink with people who are smoking. After a few months that seemed to do the trick and now it doesn’t really bug me or at least not enough to give in. I’m not sure I could have been strong enough to endure years of withdrawal. Good for you. That’s something.

It makes me even less optimistic about Ryan. That all sounds like very hard work to learn to manage and Ryan’s not exactly well aquatinted with hard work.

As if Butch and Tyler didn't jack off to watching Farrah do her job.
