Just learned from Wikipedia that Laura Kirkpatrick's middle name is Sioux and now I love her even more.  I also love that when you search "laura antm" in Google images there are at least twice as many photos of her as of the other Laura who actually won her season.

I met Angelea last week. She was in a liquor store doing some promotion for a spiced rum. She is so pretty in person, and nice, and normal seeming. She let me geek out for a while, took a bunch of pic

I randomly met Jade at a mall in Buffalo, NY of all places and it was one of the single biggest mindfucks of my whole entire life. She came across as so personable, normal, friendly, and conversational. She was nothing like the preposterous dinosaur I saw on tv. She just took time out and chit chatted with me for like twenty minutes. I was almost disappointed because I really wanted to meet the crazy Jade I saw on tv.

Allison is my favorite ANTM hamster of all-time. Still mad she was robbed of the title 3 times to prehistoric fossils Lisa, Angelea, and Teyona! At least she is modeling regularly now, which is more than I can say for the so-called "winners".

Why was Angelea disqualified? Was it because she broke her confidentiality agreement on social media? Did she have a secret affair with Tyson Beckford? Was she DQed because she was pregnant?

Angelea was going to release a tell all explaining the disqualification but it has been so long since it happened that I doubt it is gonna be released.

She gave an interview about that.

I think she was doing drugs or something.

I'm not sure anyone has ever figured out exactly why they disqualified her for sure.  Speculation is that the producers discovered something unsavory in her background that she hadn't disclosed (possibly an arrest record or something along those lines) that they didn't want associated with ANTM.  That would fit the evidence, too, namely the fact that she got all the way to the end and then was tossed out.

Meh. I have no issue with Allison loosing to Teyona. The fact that Elite spent money to order Teyona lots of non-ANTM tests and sent her overseas to develop her look speaks volumes to Teyona's potential. No other winner got this treatment from them.

Now, Allison's loss to Angelea and Lisa is quite the crime.

I want to "get" Laura Kirkpatrick so much but I just don't. She looks so average in photographs. She is a really nice and very funny girl, but I just don't understand the appeal.

Agreed. I am glad she is doing well, but I feel her success is solely because of the show rather than modeling potential.

I like Cory but I think his type of modeling would have worked better on a show like "RuPaul's drag Race". Personally I would like to see Cory join RPDR at some point as he will be a fierce contestant and it would be cool to have a crossover hamster between RDPR and ANTM.

Ok, so I may have made a mistake in starting this forum by creating individual threads for former contestants.  So far there isn't really enough discussion of any one person to justify their own thread, especially as most of the posts in those threads are links to photo shoots they have recently done.

 

I've created a separate thread in which to deposit and discuss all of these photo links, and this thread will be for the discussion of any past contestants themselves--how they were portrayed on the show, your opinions about them, who wuz robbed, etc.  I'm going to close down all the individual contestant threads for now and use this one instead.  If and when we ever get enough discussion going on one past contestant, I'll revisit the possibility of an individual thread then.

It's not quite a parallel, but she's kind of the Jennifer Hudson of Top Model (yes, I know that's a ridiculous comparison).  Underplayed by the show, then used it kind of obliquely to get an acting career.   Okay, she's not exactly in "Dream Girls", but 4th billing in a movie with Ryan Reynolds isn't bad.

...Angela Bassett, who starred alongside Houston in 1995′s “Waiting to Exhale,” will make her directorial debut with the Lifetime movie.

“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” Bassett said in a statement released earlier by Lifetime.

Not everyone is thrilled by news of the Lifetime movie. Pat Houston, the singer’s sister-in-law, told the gossip site TMZ recently, “Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie. If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening.”

I really felt that Jenah was absolutely robbed in S9 and how the judging panel completely ripped into her. Tyra saying that Jenah was making fun of the commercial which she wasn't and Miss J said that Jenah had inner resentment towards her Mom cause Jenah had to basically raise her sisters and Nigel saying that Jenah has been saying that she's not a covergirl. Jenah has never said that and they never showed her saying such things. All this was so that Suckleisha could make it through and win and Tyra never addressed the controversy surrounding Saleisha's win.

I want to "get" Laura Kirkpatrick so much but I just don't. She looks so average in photographs. She is a really nice and very funny girl, but I just don't understand the appeal.

 

In her first season I thought she was amazing.  She had a very natural sensuality and took amazing pictures.  Her second season, I just didn't see it.  Tyra had given her a bad haircut and colour, so that may have been the problem.  She also seemed to overthink it that second season, whereas she was very natural in her first season.

I re-watched her two seasons recently and tried to find this out.  It's still somewhat a secret.  I really disliked Angelea the first time I watched both her seasons.  On re-watch, I really liked her.  I have no idea why that changed.

She was good in Warm Bodies.  Apparently she was also a good figure skater.

 

Yaya is Whitney Houston. For Lifetime Television for Women...well, expectations won't be very high.

 

Bobbi Kristina is especially vicious in her attack on Yaya.  The poor deluded thing thinks she should portray her mother.  Whitney Houston - as portrayed by Bobby Brown.

I stopped watching this show a few seasons ago, but I was still watching it in 2011 when Angelea Preston got mysteriously eliminated for the finale. It was a real hot topic on TWoP, & nobody knew what happened. It turns out they dumped her because they found out she had been an escort. I'm actually really happy to finally know what happened, it's bugged me all this time LOL

Well, for crossover there was Raja/Sutan on RPDR Season 3...but he wasn't a hamster on ANTM.

He'd need to really increase his ability to do drag and comedy if he wanted to do Drag Race. I mean he was the wittiest, funniest contestant of season 20 but the contestants that season were largely too stupid to live, i'm not sure he'd stand up well to people who's day job is being funny and witty.

Not a fan of Yaya, her bragging about her intelligence was hilarious since she was so hopelessly dumb.  But the no-talent Bobbi Kristina needs to take a seat and keep her mouth shut.

Nothing could make me like that bitch. I just re-watched the All-Stars, and they're showing C14 again, and she's still the same old self-deluded, whining little bitch.

I liked Angelea even less the second time around. She is an awful model, has a terrible attitude, and seems to think her bad life entitles her to certain things. Growing up poor does not mean one is automatically given coupons to trade in for luxe items later in life.

 

I can overlook a terrible personality for good photos (see: Fatima, Lauren Brie). I can also overlook a bad model with a nice or entertaining personality (see: Laura from the Petite Cycle). I cannot overlook a shite model with a terrible personality, and this is what Angelea is. She has a terrible body for high fashion modeling, and her face is wrong

Elise (cycle 1), Analeigh, Allison, Nicole Linkletter, and Lauren Utter were my favorites EVER.  Analeigh has been in so many movies now...she was in one with Steve Carell where she played his kid's baby-sitter who had a crush on him and she sent him naked photos LOL! I disliked her the first time around and liked her in All-Stars, but the All-Stars viewing gave me a better understanding of her, and now when I rewatch her original cycle, I don't mind her as much (I spend the whole cycle hating Whitney, so).

Yeah, Saintz that is odd....however....

Having a very loose eye tooth crown that can't be fixed due to the underlying tooth being 90% gone, I understand where she's coming from.

Luckily I have insurance, but it will only pay for 1/2, and my dentist's office wants my 1/2 first, I've been super glueing it on. I know that's dangerous, but you can't have a missing front tooth in my job. Ex.. I just co-ordinate a concert for Rob Zombie in conjunction w/his Great American Nightmare.

So, I feel for Amanda, & donated a few dollars to her. Something I wouldn't do for someone I don't know, unless it was a charitable organization.

Not sure.  I actually looked her up on fb last night (without seeing this thread) because I was rewatching her cycle and was curious about how she was doing.  I'm glad to see she still has some sight, even though apparently a lot of people are giving her flak about it.  I donated some cash to her fund because ouch.  Hopefully she gets her stuff fixed and hopefully there will be a way someday to restore her sight, as well.

Amanda was my fav from cycle 3. Glad she is not completely blind yet. Speaking of favs, does anyone know what happened to C10 Katazyna, Jane from cycle 15, and Anya from the Whitney cycle? They are my all-time favorites and seemed to be doing really well at some point. Are they still working models?
