she  said megan was boring.  this was in response to andy (i think) asking kelly what she thought of megan saying kelly is nasty and mean.

Meghan called Kelly nasty and mean because Kelly had announced today that Meghan was the other woman in the dissolution of Jim's 2nd marriage.

Peggy still brings nothing to this show.  Lydia is still ridiculously annoying, but given how sensitive she is, I'd be shocked if she returned for another season.  She knows that she is not coming off well this season.

Frankly, I was surprised that Lydia came back after her first, unmemorable season.  Did she not learn her lesson, or was the money and/or PR for hubby's magazine too much to deny? She is annoying.

I wonder why we never got the footage of Vicki saying that about Terry Dubrow?

My guess....Heather may have threatened lawyers getting involved. I always felt there was more that happened to Heather in that van/ ride. She went for Kelly big time!  "You are trash"   I think she also said "You can't hurt me" to Kelly.

Because the Dubrows probably threatened to sue just like Maloof did about the surogasy.

Bravo knows these people have real money and felt it was easier and less costly to re-edit.

I think it was cut because both Botched and Real Housewives of Orange County are produced by Evolution Media and airing the accusation undermines Botched and the premise that Terry is a doctor you'd want to seek out. Maloof potentially has access to a billion dollars so they caved, but airing Vicki's comments about Terry hurts Evolution's own business interests.

This is somewhat of a storyline on RH of Dallas, but I dont know that the doctor was ever actually named.  In Terry's case, he's obviously very well known.

The group text argument really has left me feeling as though my brain cells have been depleted.   Meghan called it right away, "it was an oversight".  Tamra incredulously responded in disbelief that Lydia was upset over being left off a group text.  These are pretty rational/normal reactions....for adults. Lydia is not an adult..

I fear Meghan is a goner because she is not playing the reality show game correctly.   Being rationale and too quick to want to nip drama in the bud just isn't going to fly.

i can't help but wonder if Vicki wasn't coaching Lydia to make sure the friend that was brought on the show for her, keeps the peace with the others so as not to make life harder on Vicki to get back in the circle.

Lydia should be happy she was left off a group text...all those annoying replies, etc.  Of course, she's the very definition of someone that was raised to think the world revolves around her.

I prefer rationale and logic over petty drama

I think that lodge they are staying in is truly tacky. Who wants to go to Iceland and stay in an Africa or Japanese themed room? Plus the themes were not well done. And Lydia’s room? Nothing special or deluxe about that. I also thought it was odd that they flew 14 hours and Lydia coughBravocough didn’t spring for a flight with the sleeper seats.

Okay, now that I’ve bitched about everything like a real housewife, my night is complete!

They were comped by Iceland Air and they don't appear to have sleeper seats. Their most expensive ticket class is business class.

That settles it:  Lydiot is 12 years old.  Totally unable to accept anything isn’t on her rainbow.  She needs to find other 12 year olds.  Maybe Andy can do something with 12 year olds as lead characters.

I can see it now, "The Real 12 year olds of Middle School". Maybe Lydia can be in the center holding a cellphone or whatever else preteens are into.

I still hate Vicki and want her gone. Please take Lydia, Peggy, and Kelly (even though she was not really annoying this episode) with you. Hell, take Tamra and Shannon too. I can tolerate them more than the rest, but would not care if they were gone. Meghan is kind of dull for this type of show, but she usually seems to behave more rationally than the rest.

With respect to Kelly's revelations about the claims that Vicki made concerning Terry on the Ireland bus ride, all that comes to mind is the same thought that popped into my head watching Tamra's outrage regarding the rumor that she's actually Eddie's beard:

Gee, it's almost like Vicki accused their husbands of operating businesses as a front for dealing cocaine.

What goes around comes around.

Vicki didn’t look well at lunch. That was a heck of a lot of activity, ATVing, walking to the waterfall, glacier hiking, to do jet lagged after a long flight the day before.

I live in Alaska and summers are the worst for sleep deprivation. The never setting sun is hard to take and really screws with your body.

And most importantly, had been out drinking the night before until 3am. So she's older, not in the greatest shape, tired, at a higher altitude, and dehydrated from the drinking. This likely explains some of Vicki's distress.

Plus, she is worried about all the heart stuff.  Makes a person anxious.  Feeling alienated from the group ---> stressful.

Not a Vicki fan, and I know she is dramatic, but I can understand this as a culmination of many things.

That was an amusing dig the editing team threw in there with Shannon bitching at Heather over the chair as she was talking about Lydiot being immature.

Came here to say this, so shady!  There's been talk about Shannon getting a bad edit and I wasn't sold till tn.  That clip was suchhh a reach to call Shannon childish, not to mention Heather was the instigator of that dumb scene.  Shannon does plenty to look like a nut on her own, but they wouldn't even let her give Lydia a well-earned talking-head read wout undercutting her. I wonder who got Shannon's angry phonecall after lol

This episode was pretty good. I could see the mean girl coming out in Tamra a few times, and I don't think she really likes Lydia. I think she wants to have "church" friends and be in that crowd, but she also likes to laugh at people and have people chase her friendship. She is definitely nicer though than she used to be, but she still has an underlying meanness to her.

My favorite parts were when the ladies didn't want to eat the puffin and the tour guide was delighted. "I'll eat yours!" Do they not feed the tour guides? Is this food carefully inventoried? Those were some pretty tiny bites of whatever it was.

I think Meghan has the nanny with the baby for filming, but I would assume that she's with the baby most of the time when not filming, and she's breast feeding, which is pretty time intensive. I I think when she complains about how hard motherhood is, she's really just looking for some support.

Peggy is not a great mind. I'm not sure she thinks. She always does that, "Over it" thing because I think it's easier to dismiss stuff than to think about anything. And because she can't. She knows about being an Armenian, and she knows how to make food with love. She also knows how to drive fast cars. That said, I don't think she has really finished grieving for her mother, which is tough== if she could convey her feelings better I think people would like her more. There's possibly a story there, but she just isn't bright enough to articulate it. At least in English.

Oh Lydia. If you think people are leaving you out, they probably are. They don't like you. Gretchen was the same way, kind of begging for attention all the time, trying super hard to be cute and fun, and it just came off as vapid and no one liked her either. Then she got mad because no one liked her and talks shit to this day. Not that I see Lydia doing that, but I don't think she and Tamara are going to be besties ever.

I hope Tamara and Vicki make up. Yes, Vicki was incredibly selfish to put Brooks over everyone, but she has had the good sense to leave him and she's at least trying with a better guy. She's sort of taking Tamara's example of marrying a more boring, but more stable guy. Not that Simon was anything like Brooks, but Tamara got better after leaving him, and I think Vicki is better now without Brooks. She's definitely more trustworthy and chill.

The end was great, only because Peggy and Kelly were literally fighting over who would take care of Vicki. They were each trying to tell her what was wrong with her and push the other one out of the way. Kelly was like, "I know her so well, it's a panic attack!" and Peggy's like, "It's a heart attack!" and Kelly's like, "Vicki, you are panicking!" and Peggy is like, "Vicki, you are white, you are sweating, it's your heart!" Reminds me of when me and my sister would fight over who got to change my cousins diaper, and I would carry him for 5 blocks and run into the house so my sister couldn't be part of the diaper changing.

Her mother died 20 years ago. I'm not saying she should be over it over it, but it's been 2 decades. And I'm sure her breast cancer issues and her father's recent passing reignited her fears about her own mortality, but I don't think whatever her issues are should be ascribed to the singular issue of her mother's death.

It's also pretty clear that Peggy lives a fairly isolated and provincial life, possibly speaking to an average of 1.5 non-Armenians a week--the maid and a manicurist. She does not know how to relate to anyone outside of her small social circle.

Lydia was the 'host'. Her needing validation from Tamara , puzzles me. Yet at the same time, Tamara knew exactly where the error in communication was and took the middle road, sly . I guess this happens when mothers shower their daughters daily with glitter dust and eccentric babble, Lydia can't cope without validation.  I can hear her next confession " this one time, my anger got the best of me and I tossed a menu at a friend, or so I'm told because I really don't feel it was thrown. Forgiven".

For someone who feels so much, she sure seems to miss the plot this season.

This franchise turned so ugh. How many times around the same story lines can I go.

OMG whale bones on a beach-gasp-stare-gasp-leave.  They all do a silent mourn & respect the ancient carcass on the beach, yet turn and shun, mock and contrive storylines against the living humans next to them.

Are there no local cultural foods we can see enjoyed, other than Vicki slammin a cheeseburger?

Blah trip. ALMOST makes me want to read Lydia's magazine write up.

All the back and forth over Vicki's crisis... what a shit show. What is it with these people arguing over who thinks whats happening and shouting over the other while insisting they know better.  Grab a phone, call for help, THEN explain to the person what you've done and what you think may be happening. This is how people die and regret daily that they didn't call for help FIRST. uffda.

I was expecting some kind of Bjork sighting**. Alas, I had to settle for a Bjerk slighting.

I  too get that Lydia might have felt left out, especially because it was "her" trip, but I was largely on Tamra's side and I can see it being an accident. I *would* chalk that scene up to Lydia being overtired, except that she went on, and on, and on about being owed an obeisant apology, and had to be told by VICKI no less that she was overreacting. I'd love to know which Bible advises "Thou shalt expect--nay, demand--an apology without being willing to give one yourself." Maybe that was from the Sermon on the Glacier.

Regarding Vicki, I'm with those of you who pointed out all the reasons she probably got so sick. Altitude, anxiety, overtiredness, overexertion, staying up drinking, worry about her heart. I actually don't think she's faking (I know, I know), even though it probably isn't really a heart attack.

Did we have any insights from Peggy about the superiority of Armenia this episode?

Things I did love from the episode:

* Kelly's barrage of questions on the bus (be quiet, Peggy)

* Vicki tossing that scarf over her face at the menu-toss lunch

* Meghan's PaRapper the Rapper hat

** Not really

No, Tamra made that assertion about Jim Bellino during her feud with Alexis and Heather offered nary a criticism of the tactic. During one of the early season 8 scenes before Alexis had reintegrated into the group, Tamra and Heather expressed shock that Alexis was threatening litigation against Tamra for the J Jugs epithet. That was obfuscation on their part; the Bellinos floated the possibility of legal action against Tamra because she was alleging that Jim used his companies as a cover for a localized drug outfit.

Iceland is BEAUTIFUL! Egads. I want to go right now. Fuck you, Lydia, for being in such an amazing place and thinking it looks like Mississippi. No offense to MS. I'm sure it's lovely in its own way, but Iceland is NOT Mississippi. I was glad to see that Shannon actually knew WHY they named it Iceland, and why there's not ice everywhere. I already knew that, but I always think it's prudent (and fun!) to learn about the country you're going to before you land. At least Kelly was asking their driver questions. I was a bit impressed by her. She actually seemed interested in educating herself.

Oh, and at the black sand beach, Lydia says it's like Mars from a movie. Ummmm...Mars is the RED planet. These people are so stupid.

I'm not going to bag on them too much over the shark thing, because even the hotel owner himself seemed to be saying it was nasty ("don't smell it", "when you can't take it anymore, wash down with the drink"), but I really hated the way Peggy refused. "I'm not eating no shark!!!!" How about, "No, thank you"??? I guess in Armenia, they don't have manners.

Thank God for Megan. She was the only one exhibiting any class.

It's interesting watching the dynamics between Tamra, Shannon, and Vicki. Tamra and Vicki were cutting up quite a bit together when they arrived. So Shannon loudly announces she needs to go lie down - implying that Tamra should come with her. Which she obviously did. And then she seemed a bit jealous that Vicki and KELLY went out and whooped it up later. I don't feel bad for Tamra at all. I don't WANT to see those two back together. I don't want to see Vicki at all. But I also don't think Shannon should be so needy. She needs to let Tamra figure out what Tamra wants. If she is willing to overlook all the vile shit Icki has done, that's on her. I think Tamra is torn because she picked this righteous road with Shannon, and she feels she HAS to stay on it....even though I reallllly don't think she wants to any more.

So these bitches go all the way to Iceland to fight over a group text. A fucking group text. Lydia is such a baby. Look, group texts can be confusing. I have one with my mom and 3 sisters. But then sometimes I have one with just the sisters, so we can talk about birthday/Christmas stuff we want to do for mom. Or we've had ones leaving out one sister, so we can talk about her progress while in labor and not flood her phone with texts. Or if we know one person can't go to an event, we leave them out so they don't feel bad. Or I have one with the people who only watch a certain show I watch. But sometimes.....no, fairly often....we respond to the wrong text.

I'm sure it was not some intentional slight that Lydia wasn't in the group text. Peggy added her. Get over it. Instead, Tamra's apologies aren't good enough for her, so she throws the menus and stomps off like the little brat that she is. Then she comes back clearly still pissed, but acts all annoyed that anyone would think she's still pissed. I wanted to throw her into a crevasse!

Shannon's interactions with baby Aspen = happiest I've seen her all season.

The glacier was amazing. I thought it was interesting Megan asked how climate change has effected it. Who the fuck peed on the glacier? Do these women all have thimble sized bladders? Why can they never hold their urine? Or manage their bathroom time better?

Of course VICKI gets an ambulance while on vacation. I guess she really wanted an Icelandic casserole.
