Yes she took a bath and yes Cam's comment was gross.

And this is the problem with the show lately.  Cam's comment was used to hit us over the head with an anvil to say,  "Cam doesn't have boundaries and that is what makes it funny".

Give your audience some credit-- we get the joke already!

I've loveD this show for a long time (particularly the early years), but they are really starting to run on fumes while they re-cycle ideas. A crystal that starts a fire.....where have we seen that before....oh, how about Season 1 episode 10, Undeck the Halls where a crystal in a Christmas ornament burnt a hole in the couch..... and then there was a debate about who was to blame for it and, just like this episode, comedy did not ensue.

Last night I was watching a re-run on USA with a Halloween episode called Open House of Horrors and they had a scene with an angel (Rueben in an Angels baseball outfit) and a devil (Luke in costume) on Manny's shoulders.....which would have been clever if not for the fact that we just saw pretty much the same thing a few weeks back with Luke as the Angel, Vanessa Williams as the devil (in red) on Haley's shoulders. At least they let Luke switch colors!

Cam gets his lack of boundaries directly from his mother. But also, it seems like most of Cam's and Mitchell's friends have no sense of boundaries, either.

I wish the show would change directions a bit and acknowledge that all three Dunphy kids are smart/clever each in his or her own way and always have been, just like Lily. Haley's business sense is as good or better than Phil's or Claire's. Luke is a problem-solver and has several times shown his (and Nolan's) vocal and instrumental musical talent. In each of the other ABC family night offerings this season, the characters have been allowed to grow, not just age. Maybe it's time that Modern Family is allowed to spread its wings and permit the characters to be less caricatures and more real. The best sit-coms have even dealt with (gasp!) serious issues sometimes. "It. Could. Work!"
