The writers didn't care what JS/AS or the Ejami fans wanted when they left at the same time in '14 so the CIN fans shouldn't matter now. Still, I wouldn't put it past Days to have them sail off into the sunset w/their new baby as a nod to Bo & Hope. Till we get details on their exit though, I'm holding out hope that Ciara delivers a horned-head and hoofed-feet baby boy, Ben loses it, kills her, and he and demon baby are carted off to Bayview. That would be an appropriate ending. Curious if MM is leaving on her own (spend more time w/the new baby?) or her contract wasn't renewed? Anyone know the details? Even though I'm a Cin fan, I'm ok with them leaving Salem, and with the BTS Instagram rumours, plus VK not willing to stay on full time, it's not a surprise. So letting them leave town to raise their new baby, is fine with me. Killing Abigail also doesn't really bother me either, as I always hated KM's portrayal of her, and am just ok with MM's version. Plus no one is really dead on Days, so if the show stays on the air, I'm sure there'll be a "back from the dead" and/or doppelganger return. However, I will be disappointed if Cady is the one playing Jennifer for the funeral. Maybe MR really is done with the show, but this seems like a very big deal for a recast to handle. And I will be really annoyed if it's Gwen that kills her, or even if Gwen gets to stay on the show. I also don't think Abby will be permanently dead but at the same time not bothered by it. I do think it would be terrible to kill her off and not have both her parents and JJ around for it. I do wonder what's going on BTS to the point where long timers don't seem that interested in returning to a show they called home. Maybe its because of Covid and many people took stock of their lives and realize they rather be with people they love than their job. Or Days is just a toxic environment(as no Abby wants to stick around for a role which is front and center and most actresses would kill for that exposure). It could be both. I'm not her biggest fan, but as the first born child of Jack & Jennifer I have a soft spot for her, so I hope her death doesn't stick. This better be "dead" and not Bo or Isabella DEAD DEAD. I wonder if before her death, Abby & Gwen will start to repair their relationship (like Steve & Jack did) and then BAM! From what I've gathered, the news or the "leak" is coming from multiple sources associated with the show. Presumably it was not meant to be released this soon, but it was and so there's been several "unofficial" confirmations. I doubt we'll see Ron or the actors say anything yet if they want to contain the spread till their intended time or until a soap magazine exclusive. RSW's contract (whatever the time) is inconsequential as the show likely has "out" options at various points. If the work environment between the two has become toxic, they may invoke those rights. Or as you mentioned, he could have asked to be released too and they granted it.
