Apologies for being late, but I just read the article about veteran Jacie Scott becoming a Radio City Rockette, that is dated 3 days ago. (  link )  . the article goes on how she prepared and tried out for two years to make the group.  Her story is should be helpful for those who try out for DCC.

Long story short: " After I retired, I got back into the dance studio to train. I was taking ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern… every style of dance. I knew I needed to get my technique back in order if I wanted to continue pursuing dance as a career."

So back to, round 1, semi and finals disappointments , please read the article. Come back next year stronger.

Anthony Ramos is like the Paula Abdul of the judges. "I don't like you but you're outfits cute" 

Neil McCoy offers nothing as a judge. All he says is "she's hot". It's kind of insulting. 

Lacey has my vote, not just for her story but she seems really genuine. I like her style. 

Kalyssa looks like a blonde Kelsey (and they talks kind of similarly). She could be the next DCC Bombshell in the like of Abigail, Tobie, Brittany, and Kashara. 

Alexandria (Patriots) is impressive, good ambassador material, and interesting that she felt inspired after meeting Holly H. 

Dayton, we haven't seen much yet but in some clips she looked kind of heavy. 

Katelyn, are her legs even attached to her pelvis? Purple outfits is too bright and along with her dark hair I was distracted. 

Brennan, hot and cold with her facials, but better this tear. 

Whitney let me down, insert Tyra banks 'I was rooting for you' gif. 

Briana B HATE her outfit (hush Ramos) but loved her showmanship. 

Brianna (18) girl, shame on you for those kicks. 

Lauren, please god change her hair. Otherwise I love her. 

Sorry this was so long. I actually wrote things down this episode.

Season 8 has 32 returning veterans. That's the largest group. It's awkward watching them talk to Jenna knowing what we know now.

Katelyn looked really harsh. She needs to lighten her hair, take out some of the weave and make it shorter, and get warmer makeup. I think she's a great dancer and has great kicks, but i thought she was older than she really is. 

Brianna's kicks were horrible and her looks got her through. 

I'm loving this veteran update. I love Cersten and I'm glad she's still pursuing her dreams.

I am LOVING the part with the veterans. 

 

I feel bad for some of the women who gained weight because it must be a battle they have all the time. As women, we KNOW when we gain. I can't imagine having that stress when it's a job requirement to be "dancer thin." Tasha looks beautiful regardless and I wish I had her figure. I hope the vets do well, overall.  I will miss Melissa forever, she was my favorite!

 

Is it just moi or is Jenna and her segment a little....frosty coming from one side? ? Wonder what that's about ?

31 or 32. Colin, Teri, and kali were cut at auditions, and Chelsea was cut in camp.

Loved having Judy talking rather than just yelling in the studio or sitting on her stool.  Love Phil and the dance party.  So sorry about Brianna's kicks.  Glad they didn't bring Whitney back, she needs to find another team that loves her like Auto Amy did.  Yuko seems to have come out of her shell.  Ohhhh, the talk with Jenna.  Are you ready to be a leader???  She talked about who people look up to but didn't mention that anyone had said Jenna which I thought was certainly a telling omission.  Can't wait for next week and hoping we see full or at least 30+ seconds of solo dances. I thought in the end when Kelli was in the meeting, I thought she said 28 returning vets.

That's not her new office. They are still at valley ranch.

Looved looking at the little Veteran interviews... and I don't mean to be that forum member but how many episodes will there be this season? I don't think auditions have ever lasted 3 episodes before lol

Thought I was going to hate not seeing the veterans vs the newcomers but I actually enjoyed the different format.

Someone please tell me--the very last clip of the show had someone facing the wrong direction at the beginning of the kicks.  Who was that girl?

The male judge who is a little portly was so surprised.

And who didn't know who the first lady was?

I agree about Whitney.  I was glad to see Kelli saying she wasn't right for the team AGAIN.   Find something  else.

I might be the only person who found this episode drawn out.  Thought last week's was too long too.

I thought last weeks episode was drawn out, unnecessarily long. This one was a bit better but more of the veterans at the end would have been nice. I would rather have seen them learning the semis routine in addition to technique class.

I think when we gave input both on forum and in the survey that CMT sent to many of us, we wanted to see more of the process so I believe the longer drawn out auditions plus other things in the survey will be revealed in the show this season.

I was one who called for more show. I am a beggar and a chooser. I just didn't like what was chosen to be lengthened. I did like that there were more deliberations during round 1. I hope we see that level next week for round 3

Wow - what a cool episode - loved how they did that segment w/ the returning vets and that they acknowledged the retirees.   I think we've been asking for these things so to me it's proof they look at this board at least a little ;).

Okay I am already sick of Kalyssa shaking her fake boobs every single time she's on screen - I swear one time she was just standing or sitting there (not even dancing) and she just decided to shake them.   Plus looks like she doesn't know who the First Lady is...she'll probably get through to TC cause she's so cute and has good kicks, but I'm sick of her already.

Shame about NJ girls kicks and I get what the judges meant about her seeming like she doesn't care anymore.  I guess we will see how far she gets.

Glad Lacy made it through - her story about her brother made me tear up - she just seems so genuine and nice.

I really liked the girl from Boston - Alexandria? - she seems really down to earth and smart, and really pretty.  Interesting how the Patriots make you retire after 4 years.   Wonder if any other squads do that?

That Miranda has a really pretty face, but omg her boob job is just awful - and it looks soooo painful.  She should wear something that doesn't have cleavage like Brennan's top.

Ugh about Christina making it through...but glad Celinda and Brennan made it.  Whitney didn't have a chance in hell once she messed up - seems like a lot of the judges held how many times she tried out against her too.

Please stop w/ Yuko already - we get it, you will keep her on the team no matter what - I don't really care how she's adjusting cause IMO she never should have made the team last year.

Re: Jenna, is what we know about her the Dak stuff, or did something else happen recently?  I thought that was over a long time ago and really wasn't a big deal, but maybe I need to check our the other treads.  I thought she looked really pretty during her talk in Kelli's office.

Raylee looked a little soft, but she always looked soft to me.   So did Selina, but she was thick before too.   I'm not a fan of Lacey's nose job either - she was pretty before w/ her natural nose.

Finally, can they please stop playing that humiliating interview footage of Kelsey - she has been on the team for a year.  Let her live it down. 

Oh, and I stlll can't stand Kelli Pickler - I literally start to get a headache when she's on my screen - wish CMT would stop w/ her, but I guess they aren't gonna :/.

I like that the show runners tried to give us what we wanted, but all they did was give us filler and not so much what we wanted. Does that make sense? 

Can Kitty get an hour long webisode so people like me who love her can get an extra dose?

The dancers who can memorize multiple 8 count dance of DCC-level choreo and make it look pro AND nail the kicks are just amazing performers. I see what Kelly means when she says she wants to put her pen down and watch! You have to be a rockstar to do this dance job. I really admire them for being able to do this, bravo to the ones who made it to finals.

Kalyssa is ridiculous shaking her chest that much. We get it you think your sexy and people agree. Lay off now! If she makes it to training camp and does the shimmy shake in DCC choreo I'm gonna lose it.

I like that Kelli kind of talked directly to Whitney through the camera after she got cut. She's right about her needing to move on to a different dream. I hope Whitney takes it to heart because it sure seems like they don't want her back.

Did Kelli and Judy really have to be bitchy to Kelsey about her audition? have they been riding her that hard all year? Give the girl a break for cripes' sake.

I love love love! KaShara and watching her with Yuko made me love her even more.

I liked how Judy introduced Jennifer, Jacie, and Kinzie as the alumni veterans who were helping her teach the choreography. I don't recall her ever doing that before. Really love how much more the producers have included the vets so far, even little things like that.

I'm with the previous comment of can we PLEASE move past Kelsey's interview flubs?  I have to hand it to Kelsey for sticking with it because I would hang it up if they kept bringing up my past flaws mercilessly.  Jenna's visit in the office seemed overly contrived.  Yuko's English is improving by leaps and bounds (as expected when exposed to the language 24/7) and KaShara's accent is just adorable.  Cersten is going to be great in medical school!  I loved seeing the tidbits on some of the veterans....more, please!

I already hate Anthony Ramos.  Do we really need a fashion analysis on a show where everyone wears the same uniform in the end?  And BIG surprise that Neil just LOVED Kalyssa.  I'm surprised Kalyssa didn't shake her ta-tas as she was running up the aisle after her number was called for finals (as you can tell, I'm NOT a Kalyssa fan).

I knew Cary (from the mother/daughter duo) would be sent packing this round.  And a big BYE to Whitney!  "Even though I messed up, I'm still awesome and deserve a spot!"  Get over yourself.  Being there 5 years doesn't show how hard you worked...it shows how desperate you really are.

Alexandria, Katelynn, and Lauren look great!  Lacey does also, and she resembles Ashley (season 7, the counselor) so much.  Barely saw Christina this episode.

Dayton is just overall unimpressive.

And how in the heck did Briana get to finals with those awful kicks?

Definitely the best part of show - hands down. this gave us a chance to see up close some of the Vets that we just don't know - like Kashara,  the roommate of Yoku.

I really wish they would do a whole show, with backstories, on finals - vets and newbies. I would have loved to see the routine the choreographer was doing during the master class.

Season 8 had 32 returning Vets. 3 were cut at finals, Courtney (blonde, curly) left before TC for personal reasons leaving 28. Then Chelsea was cut during TC, making a grand total of 27 returning Vets.

I think Kelli was in her old office and probably in the process of moving and cleaning out . They said there were still at valley ranch. looks like they left just enough to do the filming.

I'm also loving the longer segments for preliminaries, etc. I think we're just so used to everything flying by, that it seems more drawn out. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the audition and TC process this year!
