Guest July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 (edited) Raise your hand if the minute Clementine talked about Logan doing a good job raising her or something like that you thought...well, he's the father. Raise your other hand if his reaction to seeing her confirmed that thought. Mitch was attached to a hog with a Borg collective device in his head, Missed opportunity. I forgot about the wonky time travel editing on this show. When Jackson found Mitch in the cabin, seemingly with the Borg device removed I actually said aloud "Holy crap. There are two of Mitch" and had enough time to working through the possibilities of cloning, imposter, Mitch vs. Mitch throw down, and the wise decision making by the show to create a second Mitch so each team that embarked on a mission could take him along before Jaime and Clementine showed up. Pamela July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I loved this episode. Best one of the season so far. Mitch being his wonderfully-curmudgeonly self again, Jamie's awesome badassery, the father/daughter bonding, the wacky science, the freaky-ass hybrids, Jackson's happiness at seeing Mitch again (and that hug!)... This show is my everything. 1 hour ago, ParadoxLost said: Raise your hand if the minute Clementine talked about Logan doing a good job raising her or something like that you thought...well, he's the father. That's just...no. I can't see the show going there. (Please, Zoo, don't go there.) 6 Link to comment

Yes. Yes. And yes, except I was pretty sure Mitch was a hologram. I hope the writers are taunting us with Mitch losing the ability to speak because they know we only watch for the snark. 1 Link to comment
mertensia July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I just love how they made Jamie into this total "fine. I'll just kill/stab you, then" person. And Mitch, as always, just goes along with it. Yay! Two thirds are back together! Mitch is still snarky! All is right with the Zoo world. The return of the kid was handled way, way too casually. Abe wasn't thinking "we really should have been sneakier about this rather then return the kid out in the open?" 1 Link to comment

Abe wasn't thinking "we really should have been sneakier about this rather then return the kid out in the open?" I was just distracted by them going from not knowing the kid to the parents talking like they were very close friends that had known each other forever. There must have been some lengthy offscreen sharing of every detail of what has happened this far with the other kids parents. to create so much familiarity. Link to comment
ottoDbusdriver July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 The batshit carzy remains strong with this show. Dariela had an affair while Abe was off searching for Rafiki -- WTF ?? He was only gone for a month. And with Abe's research assistant. Mitch has a biodrive that will kill him embedded in his head. And if they take it out it will wipe his memory. Sure, why not ? And what is that big scar on Mitch's right arm all about ? How come Isaac was the only kid in the back of the truck without a coat considering it was freezing outside (what with snow on the ground), everyone had heavy outdoor clothing, and the truck had open sides. Jamie is now a doctor who can do brain surgery. Why not ? I'm sure all authors can do that. Scott Turow is probably a spinal surgeon and Clive Cussler is a heart surgeon. Logan is totally Clem's baby daddy. What is with the giant titles -- SOMEWHERE OVER GREENLAND, ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN, YUCATAN MEXICO -- they seem to be even bigger than last season. I loved the reveal that Jonah's inside plan to release Isaac released the wrong kid, but for some reason Abe/Dariela didn't initially recognize or acknowledge the kid by name -- even though they were really close with the parents. Redshirt military guy: "There must have been a mixup" Dariela: "What does that even mean ?" Gee Dariela, a mixup is when things get confused producing an outcome that was not expected. I love that Jamie and Clem personally went out and got the pig, and ended up filthy from doing it. Jamie: "Don't ask." Why do the hybrid condor bird things live underground exactly ? And I realize it was a big bird, but there was no way it could move that SUV simply by flapping it's wings. And how are these bird hybrid things not dead from diving into the ground ? I like how as evil Reiden Global lady monologues to Abe/Dariela, all the red guide lasers from the guns are all still pointed at Abe/Dariela both front and back. And she claims that Clem is a liar and a thief -- maybe Clem is like Danny Ocean in Ocean's 11 and only lied about being a thief. :) Interesting how Isaac only says "daddy", not "mommy". 1 Link to comment
mertensia July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 Yeah, the pig bit with the "don't ask" was funny. Because, yeah. 3 Link to comment
Dowel Jones July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I was thinking they could invest in some training for the condors, and have them pick up the SUV and move it around as necessary. Save gas and be more mobile. Jaime's prisoner must be a grade A wimp. She threatens him with a 3-foot long taser that he could easily avoid by grabbing it and pulling her toward him, but he just cowers on the ground. And then she puts it away while he's at the desk! It was interesting how the scalpel wound on his hand healed up so fast. 5 hours ago, ottoDbusdriver said: I like how as evil Reiden Global lady monologues to Abe/Dariela, all the red guide lasers from the guns are all still pointed at Abe/Dariela both front and back. I guess their weapons training was down a bit. The didn't realize that bullets go where they're pointed, not where they're aimed. "Oops, sorry, evil RG lady. I think we can patch that up. Or not." 1 Link to comment
Gudzilla July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 Brain surgery by an amateur with a power drill. The whole pig and lollipop routine. and the line " That's not a rhinoceros " I don't have the words to express my love for this show. 5 Link to comment
shapeshifter July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I know Jamie whipping out a (convenient) power drill for brain surgery was a signal that we should not question the validity of anything, but my germaphobe self did wish she had poured some booze over stuff to acknowledge that this was now a perfectly sterile environment--no masks needed. It could have had a cool label like "Razorback Whiskey." Link to comment
raven July 15, 2017 Author Share July 15, 2017 Jamie didn't perform brain surgery. Mitch did his OWN brain surgery, LOL!! Jamie was just another tool, like the drill. I love how they just left him there when they went off to get a pig and lollipops. I love ya Mitch but the constant bitching about who raised Clem got a little annoying. I mean, she's right in front of you and seems OK? Shouldn't he be happy about that? I forgive because I love Mitch and he did spend ten years in a floaty tank getting Borg-a-fied and may be responsible for the hybrids or something. I'm annoyed that Dariela jumps into bed with some guy who who was on the show before? I don't remember him. Anyway, she also gave away Mitch's research and WTF why?? She doesn't trust Abe, who is awesome! Jamie stabbing that guy in the finger and threatening nerve damage was entertaining. Somehow, you always pull it off, Zoo. Jackson's annoying GF, is gone, yay! Jackson and Mitch hug, aw. How long were Mitch, et al at the cabin before Jackson & Logan arrived? Because they apparently didn't notice the device in the briefcase until J and L got there. Way to (not) be observant and scope the place out, Giant condor hybrid dragging the car off the cliff; Zoo is back to form. Next week we'll be back in YUCATAN, MEXICO. Will our fearless group eaten by giant condors? Stay tuned :D Link to comment
ratgirlagogo July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 I never considered this show a guilty pleasure, ridiculous as it has always been, because I don't do guilt at all, on principle, especially about TV and such. But Zoo has become so perfectly BATSHIT CRAZY (to quote Billy Burke) that it has moved beyond good and evil for me. It is summer television BATSHIT CRAZYNESS in its most perfect Platonic Biblical form. 2 Link to comment
mertensia July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 The show would not work if everyone involved was not aware of its supreme looniness and write to that. Also, of course, Mitch's snark. 2 Link to comment
aliferous85 July 16, 2017 Share July 16, 2017 Perhaps hashing out family issues should be a new brain surgery technique. Patient is conscious while they bring in estranged children, and every wrong word can possibly startle the surgeon and kill the patient. "Your other left". I about died laughing. You'd think Jamie would have better pig pig acquiring resources then finding a filthy non co operative one. I hope Clementine was just surprised to find Logan there, because she hasn't seen him in a few years. Logan isn't that sort of special, is he? So the giant bird just dragged the car off the cliff and has no birds eye view to see the actual prey escape? She doesn't dive after them? Isn't that what birds of prey would do? I hate giant birds. Quote How come Isaac was the only kid in the back of the truck without a coat considering it was freezing outside (what with snow on the ground), everyone had heavy outdoor clothing, and the truck had open sides. Because none of the soldiers have kids, thus they don't know to tell them to put a coat on when abducting them? 1 Link to comment

FWIW, I actually did know a guy IRL who survived a parachute failure, but his injuries included a limp from brain damage. Logan's invincibility is just annoying in comparison. 1 Link to comment

Kelda Feegle July 18, 2017 Share July 18, 2017 Best episode so far - bringing the crazy back, I was worried it had lost it. Dariela there is no reason in the world to playaway on ABE - he is epic levels of awesome. I really thought they were performing the brain surgery while in flight and was waiting for some turbulence. Also really thought the condor dirt-diver had got its feet stuck in the vehicle, oops. Also thought it was Mitch 2.0 - a clone, replicant, whatever. 1 Link to comment
thuganomics85 July 20, 2017 Share July 20, 2017 Ah, Zoo! Now this was back to being more of the entertaining, wacky shit I enjoy! Of course, instead of going to the hospital, Mitch would just opted to have Jaime drill into his head and he basically perform the surgery himself, by telling her what to do. And sure enough, there is some electronic device implanted in his brain, that will kill him if it stays in, but will make him lose all of his memories if they take it out. I'm sure they'll find someway around this because I don't see them "killing" Mitch for good (because what would this show be without Billy Burke's snark?), but I'm not surprised he picked the keeping it in option, since he wouldn't want to lose his memories of Clementine. Jackson, Logan, and Tessa go hybrid hunting and almost get themselves killed by a massive vulture-like hybrid, that can tunnel itself underground. Classic Zoo! Also, Jackson finally tells Tessa the truth and she bails. So sad. Not really. So, Abe and Dariela aren't exactly a happy couple and not just because of Issac being taken. Turns out Dariela had actually had an affair with the guy she was speaking to last week, while Abe was off trying to find Jackson (how long did he look? Because unless it was years, I really can't believe Dariela would cheat on hi that quickly), and Abe was able to look past it due to her being a good mother. But with Issac gone, although those bad memories are coming back. Poor Abe. But now Head Reiden Global Lady is here and is giving them an task: bring her Clementine and they will get Issac back. Hey, the majority of the gang is back together! Only for Abigail to reveal that she has sicked a whole bunch of those vulture-hybrids on them! Link to comment
