It seems like they are keeping shows a little longer, Bunk’d just got a 5th season, which is unusual. Yes they had one short season

If only Andi Mack had gotten another season...or at least a spin-off.

Both of the shows are already part of the Disney Channel Live Action Universe

(yes, that is what they call it), but now, this Friday night, the "six degrees of separation"

become none as Raven and her family get lost on a road trip and wind up at Camp Kikiwaka.

Raven About Bunk'd  (Boy, these "cute" crossover titles just get sillier and sillier each year)

premieres this Friday, July 24th.

As for the previous degrees of separation that I mentioned,   let's see.........

"Bunk'd" previously (in the first few seasons) had the Ross children as its stars,

who, of course, were the co-stars on the show "Jessie".

On one episode of Jessie, Jessie met Mr. Moseby, from the "Zach & Cody" shows.

(In case you don't get the joke (from the clip), Jessie is portrayed by Debbi Ryan,

who portrayed Bailey from the aforementioned Zach & Cody show)

and finally, the cast of the "Zach & Cody" show met Raven during the first big crossover event.

(But........... where does Kevin Bacon fit into all of this????)

Thanks for the heads up. I like both shows. Funny how much I like Bunk'd but dislike the origin show, Jessie.

Raven's Home Renewed for 5th Season with Major Casting Changes

https://tvline.com/2021/10/01/ravens-home-renewed-season-5-new-cast-changes-explained/

Disney Channel has even more Raven’s Home in its future as it renews the That’s So Raven spinoff for Season 5. The series, which stars Raven Symoné and Isaac Ryan Brown, is set to resume production in the fall with a new setting and several major changes in front and behind the camera.

Season 5 will welcome back Rondell Sheridan back into the Raven mix as he reprises his role as Victor Baxter, Raven’s easygoing and loveable dad. Also joining the upcoming season’s cast are Mykal-Michelle Harris (mixed-ish) as Raven’s young cousin Alice; Felix Avitia (Gamers Guide to Pretty Much Everything) as Neil, Victor’s neighbor and Booker’s high school classmate; and Emmy Liu-Wang (Broadway’s Annie) as Ivy, a young neighbor who babysits Alice.

Raven’s Home sees continues to follow the adventures driven by somewhat psychic Raven Baxter (Symoné) and her son Booker (Brown), who has inherited his mom’s gift to catch glimpses of the future. In Season 5, Raven and Booker move back to San Francisco to help take care of her dad after a mild heart attack. Now Raven finds herself parenting her parent, raising her young cousin and settling into life in her old hometown. Meanwhile, Booker is “the new kid” at Raven’s old high school and has to keep his visions a secret from a new group of friends.

The storyline’s move to San Francisco has resulted in the departure of several series regulars, Navia Robinson (Nia), Jason Maybaum (Levi), Sky Katz (Tess) and Anneliese van der Pol (Chelsea).

Scott Thomas and Elinoff will rejoin Symoné as executive producers alongside Anthony C. Hill. Developed by Thomas and Elinoff, Raven’s Home was created by That’s So Raven creators Michael Poryes and Susan Sherman, is a production of It’s a Laugh Productions, Inc., and carries a TV-G parental guideline.

“Ever since the debut of ‘That’s So Raven,’ Raven-Symoné has been an incredibly important part of the Disney Channel family. With ‘Raven’s Home,’ her talent and special brand of humor have continued to resonate with kids and families, and we’re excited to see what lies ahead for Raven in season five,” Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Entertainment said. “This beloved series is in good hands with the experienced team of Raven, Scott Thomas, Jed Elinoff and Anthony C. Hill leading an amazing cast and crew.”

A Few Things....

So basically, Season 5 is a spin-off/reboot of a spin-off?

  • The producers are dropping Raven's daughter Nia, her best friend Tess, Chelsea and her son Levi
  • The show is relocating back the original series location in San Francisco, instead of Chicago
  • Rondell Sheridan (Victor Baxter) returns as a series regular
  • New characters (Mykal-Michelle Harris was the only good thing about that horrible Mixedish show, so glad she has found another gig)
  • This is the second live-action Disney Channel series after BUNK'D to get a fifth season

(What the hell happened to Raven's mom Tayna Baxter? They wrote her off in the last season of That's So Raven, but it's like she never existed. She never showed up on Raven's Home and they never mention her as if they never had a mom.)

(And Cory! I know Kyle Massey himself is problematic these days for Disney, but did they ever explain Raven's brother?)

So they are doing a Parent-trap style kid situation, only take one? Unless Nia dies off-screen, which is assuredly too out-of-line for Disney, how will they explain Raven taking only one of her children and not the other? Nia could decide to stay with Devon, but if I'm remembering it right he wasn't the most invovled.

The Season 4 finale showed Devon moving back to Chicago, so, she would stay with him?

This is so weird.

I was flipping through the Guide and saw that the new season is on it's third episode and apparently they are living in the original house. Have they explained why Raven's daughter didn't come with them?

In the first episode, they said that Nia went to Guatemala for the summer, to build houses for the poor. Then, Nia called Raven, we don’t hear Nia’s voice, though.
