Anyone else watching this? It took me half of the first episode to realize that it was scripted.

I've only watched a couple episodes, but I've laughed heartily quite a few times.

I'm watching! I had no idea about this show until I was scrolling through Facebook newsfeed and someone liked one of their promotional posts, and I was like, wait, what's this about?? I must watch this!

I think it's supposed to be kind of like Curb Your Enthusiasm, where it's scripted storylines, but loosely based on their actual lives.

I laughed so hard when Jodie was talking about unnecessary nose jobs and assured the kid nearest her (who hadn't asked) that he would grow into his nose.

I love Christine Lakin so hard in this show! Her voice is so low and whiskey-soaked and easy to listen to that I actually went on Audible to see if she'd narrated any audiobooks. JACKPOT, she has, and they are mystery/thrillers, so they're right in my wheelhouse.

Sometimes their situations are a little too "darling" for me to stomach, but I have, for the most part, enjoyed their hilarious over-the-top acting in trying to play "real." That Tom and Jerry music playing in the background doesn't hurt. I think their camping trip was my favorite.

Plus, the constant joke that she is the only one no one recognizes is funny. And I have to admit, I didn't realize who she was at first either. I watched every episode of Step By Step, but she just looks so different.

I recently watched this. I think some episodes were better than others and I almost stopped watching after the first because it was not one of my favorites. Although it was nice to see Andrew Keegan who seems to have played a love interest on almost every 1990s family sitcom and family drama. Was he actually a love interest for each of the three women on their old shows? I'm fairly certain that he was a love interest for Al on Step by Step and Stephanie on Full House, but I think he was a love interest for Mary on 7th Heaven.

One of the other episodes made me think what I'd want of a possible Step by Step reboot. I really couldn't stand Cody so I would not want to see him again. I think I'd like it if they just copied Fuller House and had the girls live together and help each other take care of their kids. The girls were always my favorites, especially Christine Lakin.

I agree with that. Beverly and Jodie look the most like their younger selves.

I love this show! Christine has a podcast (Worst Ever Podcast) and she’s had Beverley and Jodie on several times, as well as the 90s guest stars and other people. She also shares stories about Step By Step (apparently the girl who played Karen went crazy and then disappeared) and lots of other fun stories. She also said that the show is loosely written - most of it is ad libbed by the three of them.

This second season seems more “put together” than the first season. They filmed the first season in just a few days with very low production costs (like, they were using their own clothes and only had one camper thing for everyone to change in). Their personalities on the show are like themselves but heightened. I think it’s fun that their real family, like Christine’s husband, are actually playing themselves too.

The 90s episode was everything! I loved all of Jodie’s random “phases” with clothes.

Christine is my favorite. She’s hilarious. And, unrelated to liking her the most, I also think she’s aged the best even though she’s the oldest. Not that the other two look bad but Christine is just beautiful.

It seems like they all do those Hallmark movies. Ugh.

Thank you for helping me discover this podcast.  It's so great!  The 80s-90s teen stars and hearing all their random ass stories is awesome.  However, the holy grail for me are all the interviews with former Mickey Mouse Club mouseketeers (I was and still am obsessed with that show and everyone that was on it!) because her co-host is apparently best friends with all of them and is also DJ Khaleds's brother!  Like what the hell?!

Yeah, Alaa is apparently besties with Alyssa Milano, too.

She does look great.  Really, they all do.  I can't be the only one surprised at how great Jodi looks considering how hard she has lived.

I didn't exactly have a crush on Jodie and Christine, but I wanted to be BFFs with them when I was younger.

I tried watching this show and it's just too... I like the adult side of Hollywood and it sounds like these three ladies turned out squeaky clean and lead perfect, privleged lives.

Didn't Jodie become a heroin addict after Full House ended?

Also, was Marla Sokoloff on Step by Step?

And didn't the crazy sister get written off because the actress suffered from an eating disorder?

It was meth. Marla was on one episode of Step By Step but was also a recurring character for several episodes of Full House. And now she’s been on Fuller House multiple times.

I don’t know what show you’re referring to with a “crazy sister” but that didn’t happen on FH or SBS. The youngest brother on SBS disappeared when they moved to cbs or whatever it was for their last season. They never explained what happened to him on the show and I guess no one cared in real life either because I don’t think any reason was ever given but maybe because no one ever even asked, ha. The character had nothing to do and was unnecessary after they added the blended family baby. The three sisters (and then the stupid rapidly aged precocious fourth little sister) were on until the end.

Tracey Gold from Growing Pains had an eating disorder and missed a few episodes because of that, maybe that’s who you were thinking of? But her character was a “nerd” and super smart not really crazy so I dunno.

I stumbled onto this show partway through the first season and wen back and watched all the eps that I missed. I was just scrolling channels and I don't remember why I clicked on it. So glad I did. I immediately knew who Jodi and Beverly were but I did not recognize Christine at all. Such a cute show.

I hope there will be a season 3.

Christine announced on her podcast that there won't be. At least for the time being. She said that it definitely wasn't an issue of the network not liking the show. They loved it. It was purely a money thing.

I think the fact that Beverley Mitchell had  a miscarriage involving twins back in 2018 might have had just a teeny bit to do with the decision to put off a season 3.

Found the show while looking at the on Demand stuff on pop.

I was NEVER a fan or even random watcher of any of their respective shows, but this is enjoyable even without knowing any of that backstory, you can pick up it up through the references they drop.

I think Bev is the cutest of the 3, and kind of the I don't know, maybe slightly more naive than the other two. I really like the episode about the porn nanny, I could watch Bev say, "What??!! No WAY!!!" on a loop forever.

Oh, I didn't know that. I feel bad for her.

I think Bev is the cutest too. I feel like her naivete and her wholesomeness is what makes her so great. She's just got such a sweet spirit and that's so different these days.

I know Bev was kind of in the shadow of Jessica Biel during 7th Heaven's run but I never did see what everyone else saw in Jessica. I didn't think she was as attractive as she was made out to be. I think she's kind of got a man face.
