The daughter walked in with her own laptop, so that wasn't the reason. Altough considering their financial situation it would have been more believable if the daughter didn't have her own laptop and had to use Ruby's for her report.

Or maybe her parents have parental controls on the WiFi and the youngster can't just get on the internet whenever she wants.  My brother set up parental controls over his kids' internet access several years ago when they were still in elementary school and their first couple years of middle school but they still had laptops of their own to work on their school reports, etc.

I too figured they were heading in the direction of Mary Pat killing him (by accident or on purpose) but I hope this show doesn't try to pretend she's even with the girls now. If she'd called the police the second she hit him they might be able to wave it away as an accident. But once she chopped him up, put him in her freezer, and called the girls first, it was over. The girls created this mess, for sure, but Mary Pat ingratiated herself into it, and even if they were planning to kill Boomer, how things went down was on her.

(I did feel sympathy for her for the rape, though, and I thought Allison Tollman acted out the scene with the little boy really well.)

I too laughed at the reactions of the girls as they slowly realized what had happened. Them each leaning forward individually was great stuff.

Becoming an accessory to murder after the fact is for sure a felony.

No way to prove that now.

There's probably human tissue with his DNA underneath her SUV, plus on the driveway, though, not noticeable. I think that with the truthful story, polygraph, and supportive corroboration, they could get by. Besides, there's no evidence to that it was murder either.  lol  All those phone calls and text....please.  I don't think they are using burner phones either.  Still, I don't think they'll get caught for any of it.

What kind of internet do they have that only one person can use it at the same time?

I assumed a pretty shitty connection that slows down when too many people are using it at once.

It was. And then she chopped up the body, put it in a freezer, and called her friends before calling the cops. To any cops, prosecutor, or jury, that doesn't look like an accident.

could have parked a whole lot closer to that dumpster (and why a dumpster not the dump?)

I was wondering if I had missed something between Ruby's asking her daughter about the dump and the girls ending up at a dumpster. What was the point of setting up the daughter's recitation of information about the dump only to, well, dump it for no reason?

The showrunning is absolutely awful. It's as if no one is paying attention to the mess coming out of the writers room and demanding some quality control.

This was very late at night the day before Trash day. This dumpster will go to the landfill first thing in the morning. Then the research their child recited about dumps applies. It's going to be very hard to find the body.

I also don't know how easy it is to just get to a landfill.

Finally, Leslie is gone! See ya later, wont miss ya, dickbag! I figured that Mary Pat might be the one who finally pulled the figurative trigger (or mini van) but I didnt see her hacking him up as well! Good lord lady! I laughed so hard at the Girls watching her tell about what happened in increasing horror as they realized what she was telling them. And Ruby just being shook by the size of the meat locker! "Pheasants?"

I do feel bad for Leslie's grandma, but not for Leslie. what an utter piece of garbage, and the show is better off without him sleazing up my screen every week. He has no more point on this show, get him gone!

Have I mentioned how happy I am that they finally killed Leslie?

They are all so BAD at crime! Rio will need to get them a criminal starter pack.

I think at first it may have been curiosity, but then she had to know if Mama Boomer gave up on her son.  She was crying because of the toll Leslie's death will have on his mother.  We know he was a slimy, loathsome toad, but to her, he was a loving dutiful son.  He put her happiness ahead of a chance at a clean get-away.

Rio playing tennis with lawyer at upscale club........that is the biggest piece of you know that they have shown.  This is just a way to justify one of the ladies touching him.  Otherwise, he's too slimy, degrading and disgusting.  It doesn't work for me.

Annie was absolutely right about walking away when girlfriend revealed that she had killed that guy.  Let her handle it.  But, still, if it was an accident, then helping dispose of the body would be what......?  Desecration of a corpse?....probably a misdemeanor. Not too harsh of a sentence.  But, maybe Hit and Run....when she didn't report it and concealed the death.  It could be a felony. But, not sure if that would apply on private property, as well as the roadways.  But, it doesn't matter.  They won't get caught. lol

Why was Annie listening to the guy's grandmother's messages on the voice mail? And, why was she crying?  I know she may have thought the grandmother was nice, but, omg, that guy was a terrible person.

Probably because he was still a person, whose grandmother loved him (most of the time), and received a call from him every night. He was so disgusting, and I'm glad that he's gone, but I can't imagine having to dispose of a body, no matter who it was.

If only she'd called the police as soon as it happened, and then told them that she was going to drive to a certain place, because her children were in the car, and she didn't want them to see him. Then tell them that he had raped her, and she was trying to escape with her children, before it happened. It *was* an accident. But she wasn't in her right mind.

I hope the previews that seem to show Beth and what's his name getting together, are intentionally throwing us off. I don't want them to hook up.

That's my thinking. Idk if it's worse to report him missing or let them figure it out on their own. If you report him missing, they'll jumpstart an investigation, right? If they figure it out on their own, you have time to formulate a plan or get the hell out of dodge or something!

Well we have seen that Mary Pat  plans and moves quicker than the trio. But then she started as a criminal stealing from criminals, not mothers robbing the "innocent" local grocery.  And she doesn't have a little sister messing her up.

Mary Pat should replace Beth as the brains of the operation.  She might be scared of Rio, but she'd stand up to him (or find a way around him) better than the trio has.

Beth/Rio is so gross to me. There isn’t anything hot about them together. He’s violent, terrifies her at times, manipulates her other times, but I’m supposed to find it hot when they’re having sex in a bathroom? No thanks.

I didn’t like any of them tonight. I did laugh at Ruby at the payday loan place though.

Last week I was wondering if it was going to turn out to be a pallet of money like on Breaking Bad. Nope it was several pallets of money. Walter White was piker compared to these women.

If the stores were onto the girls' scam why didn't they get arrested? Passing counterfeit money was the issue, right? I don't know what else it could be unless the company just didn't want the bad publicity.

Ugh, did Beth actually have sex with Rio in a public restroom or was that a fantasy sequence?

Out of the mouths of babes. Have to wonder why Mary Pat would let her kids know she had chopped up their "daddy" and stuck him in the freezer.

Wait, what? Why would Rio come on gangsta like that at the car dealership after what Beth did with him? Is he jealous of her husband or something? So much for honor among thieves, lol.

Dean is an idiot.  Job of car salesman is to move cars.  Who cares how it gets done.  Guess he felt emasculated by Beth, but come on man.  He could have given her the vans and then focused on the sports cars.  Although, it was fairly apparent that she, in one week, moved more product than he did in months.  Not surprised Beth hooked up with Rio.  It didn't have to be him, he was readily available.  The way she was feeling, it could have been almost any guy to get back at Dean.

How is Ruby going to explain paying off the loan?  That's a quandry.  Will her husband find out that she was GIVING money away to people too?  Anything that happens to their marriage is on her.  She got a pass because of the daughter, but can't use that excuse again.

Leslie was a complete lowlife.  He got money from his job at the grocery store.  He was getting payment from Rio to look the other way on the money laundering.  AND, he was stealing from his grandmother?!?!  What was his plan there?  How would he explain her getting evicted and her bills not being paid?  It's a little confusing since the show never established that he had any kind of addiction (gambling, drugs, etc) to explain his need for money.  Granted, greed is a good reason, but money problems would have sold it better.

Excessive returns were the issue. I don't think the store had any evidence of the counterfeit money. Although they were probably suspicious about these women buying and returning so much. But I don't think they had any evidence of criminal activity or else they would have done more than just ban them from the store.

They were busted for excessive returns, and doing it at multiple stores.  They still haven't noticed something is wrong with the money, and that it's counterfeit.

I love low voices. An ex of mine had this beautiful rich baritone voice and we used to talk on the phone instead of text because I told him straight up that I loved listening to him talk.

Leslie really was a trash person so I'm good with him being literally thrown in the trash.

Yet, I get on some level why Beth would go there:  While she seems to have forgiven Dean a little (what with the shooting and all), it is clear he has zero respect for her outside of being his wifey and mom to their kids (those damn sandwiches!), and I don't think she'll ever truly forgive and forget (nor should she).  He is TERRIBLE at his job, especially with women (shocker.), and won't give her credit for her clever idea.  Rio isn't a good dude, but he never treats Beth like she doesn't have a brain and innate power; he is brash, tough, and can be downright scary.   And yet, sometimes it is the simple things of knowing the drink of choice and that this woman has her own mind that makes a woman think about stuff.  Add that to their volatile chemistry and that he's hot (good looks, pretty eyes, and that voice...lawdamercy), and I get why Beth did what she did.  It may have been reckless and have long-term consequences, but in that moment, she desired him and validation and maybe revenge. (Truth be told:  the look in his eyes in the mirror looking at her got me 100%)

Dean SUCKS. He doesn't respect Beth, he's stupid, and he doesn't know how stupid he actually is. Rio is a criminal but he makes Beth feel seen and like she has a brain in her head. I get it.

Loved Ruby at the payday loan place.

This is where my reservations come in. It's not the crowbar and the brash talking, because that was mostly BS, it's the fact that what was being said under the surface was "He thinks you're saying yes because you're afraid of me, but we both know you're not. You're saying yes because you're afraid of him finding out the truth, which I can tell him any time I want." How that's handled will definitely factor into how I feel about their relationship moving forward.

Before the season began, I was worried that the writers would smooth off Rio’s sharp edges and turn him into a misunderstood bad boy “woobie” type this season in order to make him more palatable, and I respect the fact that they’ve avoided doing so because it makes things more problematic and thus more interesting (to me, anyway).

Word.  I think his tire iron antics were about scaring and dick measuring with Dean in front of Beth.  I don't think she was freaked out about him showboating b/c that's how he rolls, as much as she was scared of him spilling what is essentially just their business.  I'm willing to play along that Rio/Beth are a viable option in this surrealist environment, but my estimation of him as a "good" match for her goes down if he uses their tryst against her.  Rio can mess with her and front to others that he isn't taking it seriously, but he followed her, and the look on his face in that bathroom (and every other interaction with her) tells me he burns just as much as she does.

Dean is an ass in so many ways.  He doesn't see Beth (or other women it seems) as a complete person.  He is a terrible salesman and businessman, repeatedly making bad decisions.  He loves that Corvette because that's part of the guy he wants to be.  He doesn't have sense enough to realize you also have to sell practical vehicles, not just muscle cars.  After seeing him in action and learning how long he has BSing Beth about the business, I really don't care if all kinds of horrible things happen to Dean.

We did not see Mary Pat put Leslie in the freezer so we also didn't know until he blurted it out that her son knew that Leslie had replaced the popsicles with a Lesicle.

Manny Montana is seriously sexy.  He sizzled during that sex scene.  And yes, that voice.  I love a deep voice (I happen to have one myself).

The attraction certainly seems mutual.  He sees what a badass Beth can be.  She is seriously sexy and very under appreciated by her dolt of a husband. Rio is more than willing to have her that much more involved with him.

WUT !!

I was expecting the show to turn up the flirting between Beth and Rio this season, but I was not expecting them to actually have sex - ever. Or if they did, not so soon! (And for the record I think their chemistry is fire, but I recognize the many good reasons why they shouldn't be an actual couple.) But at least they're trying not to romanticize the hookup by showing us right after that Rio's still a violent criminal.

Well, I was kind of feeling bad for him since he got shot and all, but then they reminded us that Dean sucks, so yeah, nevermind.

So Mary Pat's kids saw her move the body anyway? Man; I figured stuff would start unraveling from her end, but again, not so soon.

Don't care about Annie and her ex, but I do like her storyline with Boomer's grandma.

Glad the Ruby was able to pay off the loans - and piss off that cashier guy - but what is she going to tell Stan? I know it goes against the premise of the show, but I'm rooting for Ruby and Stan to get far away from all this crime messiness.

I also put it together earlier to today that Beth and Rio had not interacted for several weeks before she went to that bar looking for him. They meet at the same bar at the beginning of the episode, she rejects his offer and leaves the key on the counter, and Dean continues to blow up their life. It's made clear when Beth brings the other ladies to the storage locker that she's known about it and the money for several weeks, meaning she also hasn't had contact with Rio for several weeks.* She knew Rio liked that bar because they met there before, so she was definitely looking for him, and they were clearly both feeling a little thirsty for each other after their time apart. I guess if he hadn't been there, she might have made due with someone else, but she was definitely out to seduce Rio.

*Unless she met with him briefly to get the key back, but we never saw that, and I've never had the impression that things happen with Beth and Rio off screen. I also thought maybe she made a "just in case" copy of the key before she gave it back to him, but I'm not sure if that's actually possible? I would think you wouldn't be able to get copies of those made. Maybe just sloppy writing?

I'm 100% sure she found out, but I don't remember if she found out in the S1 finale or in the S2 premiere when he was in the hospital after getting shot. I'm a little confused about that storyline because I had been thinking in the back of my mind that she was just saving it up because she didn't want to throw it in his face right after he got shot, but it's odd that his cancer has not been mentioned on the show this season, and we've also never seen them have that conversation onscreen. Sloppy writing again?

But at least they're trying not to romanticize the hookup by showing us right after that Rio's still a violent criminal.

Their scene at the beginning of the episode was very flirty, at least on his part, but I still assumed that the bathroom scene they showed in the trailer was a misdirect. I thought it would seem sexy at first because they have so much sexual tension but end up being about business. That was definitely NOT the business I was expecting! I'm pretty impressed that they managed to make a clothes-on sex scene with no kissing and no direct eye contact into something that hot (but definitely NOT romantic).

I think that, more than anything, is why Rio went back on his word. I had wondered if maybe he was playing her, giving her all that money and then seeing what she did with it before he decided if he was really done, but all three of them had their hands on the money for quite a while and Rio still left them alone... until Beth sought him out. Again. From his perspective, she rejected his offer, then changed her mind about the money while avoiding him for weeks, then showed up and seduced him into mind-blowing no kissy no looky sex, then wanted to act like it never happened. That stunt with the crowbar certainly scared the shit out of Dean, but I think the intention was really to call Beth out.

Just to be clear, I'm not disagreeing that he's a violent criminal, because he is! He could have just come to Beth honestly and let her know that he thinks she's smart AF and the sex was incredible, so can they please partner up again, but he knew Beth would say no even if she wanted to because she has always been dishonest with herself and everyone else about her attraction to him. But while I think Rio's reasoning was spot-on because he genuinely does see all of her, he still doesn't get to make her decisions for her, which is why I'm pissed that he forced her hand, and also why my feelings about their relationship hinge upon how that emotional blackmail is handled going forward.

I LOVED this!  Wish they would have pulled in some of the Cloud Nine employees for the Good Girls sequence.  That would have been fabulous!

I think the comedy is set is St. Louis, while GGs is in Detroit. My brain may not be right, though.

I wanna say yes, but I can't remember exactly. ... They're not talking about it anymore, so I think the secret's out.

She found out when he was in the hospital, I think. I don't know if it was when he was shot, or for another reason before that.

You are correct, and it's a bummer, because that crossover opportunity is GOLD.

I had to change the channel on this last episode. I just couldn't take it anymore.  I'm not sure if I will return or not.  Maybe, I'll just read about things here.  I didn't like the way things were going.  The main thing is that the ladies are not smart enough to know how to launder cash.  They are being portrayed as too stupid for something like that.  This annoys me.  Also, you know right away that they are so inept that they are going to lose all the money or it will do more harm than good.

I can't stand Annie's ex and have no interest in him at all.

The last straw when when Mary Pat engaged in verbal banter with her son in front of the detective.....just lost it.  This show had real potential, but, I just don't like the writing.

Beth rejuvenates Dean's business after he f**ks up AGAIN, and he speaks to her in a condescending manner, about their having their own things? I'm watching right now. I know she needed a new way to launder the money, but he did not deserve to have her do all that work for him. He's screwed her over twice now. Can Rio shoot him again?

Oh shoot!  You are right!  Oh well, that won't work then but I do love the crossover.

Beth needs some help from Walter or Skylar White!  They can tell her all she needs to know about money laundering.  Maybe she should buy a car wash! 😉  It would be funny if they had her watching old episodes of "Breaking Bad".  Of course, she is no where near the caliber of WW but you know what I mean!

I'm also wondering how they would explain Dean being able to buy all of those cars. Wouldn't they need to do that?

I was fine with Beth "getting some" until he showed up at the end, after taking the money back, and then smashing the expensive car. I hope it isn't a case of losing respect for her, after having sex, or having to do the alpha male schtick that her husband was also doing. They can both fuck off with that. You don't have sex with someone, and then intimidate her with a baseball bat.

I think it was more an alpha male thing - it further emasculates Dean. Also, in a twisted way, I think Rio did it to force Beth into a relationship (business or "romantic", your pick) with him.

/Bright side to all this is that I now have an example of a genuinely toxic relationship from a show I watch.

Completely devoid of context, that Beth/Rio sex scene was fire. I can appreciate two fine-looking people with amazing chemistry going at it, I'm a simple person.

I've really loved reading everybody's thoughts about the nuances of the Rio/Beth/Dean triangle. This show has its faults, but one thing I think it does well is highlight the small ways in which women are devalued in society and how those things slowly add up and take their toll. We see it with how Dean treats Beth, how Ruby takes on the burden of her family's emotional labor, and how Annie's ex treats her like a parking spot. There is definitely some catharsis in watching these women decide they've had enough and just take charge of things.

Another thing I've been wanting to point out for a while is that it's refreshing to have a show with three female leads who all look like real women. Ok, maybe Christina Hendricks to a slightly lesser extent, but what I'm saying is none of them are size 00s and that's a nice change for network tv.

Hoo boy, Dean. Matthew Lillard seems like an ok dude but man does he just play some grade-A dicks.

Ruby at the payday loan place was everything.

Glad we can all feel 100% fine with Boomer being gone since he was stealing from his poor grandma. I say it again: bye bitch!

Oh Mary Pat you done fucked up!

I wondered about that too. The getting away with murder stuff I can handwave since they are banking on surburban moms being the last person anyone would suspect of anything. But the money laundering thing made no sense. Dean bought those cars with the fake cash but there was no papertrail for how his business got that cash. Also if Dean is such a terrible salesman he tries to sell a Charger to mom who wants to test drive a minivan, how did he get his own dealership in the first place.

Also when Ruby was paying off her debts was she using the fake cash or the washed cash? If she was using fake I feel bad for the people she was giving counterfeit money to.

It was real. It was her cut from the dealership sales.

Yes, I like this about the show too!

Uggg just when you think Boomer couldn't be any worse, we find out he was stealing from his poor grandma. What a piece of crap he was. That tiny freezer was too dignified for him.

Mary Pat, this is why you dont murder people around your kids and hack their bodies up! Oh, kids just say the darnedest things! So how will she get out of this one?

Every time I start feeling a bit bad for Dean, I get reminded that he is also a total loser. Not only is he not that good at what he does, but he totally devalues Beth, who is still dealing with him even after everything he pulled on her, even when she is actively trying to bail them out of the mess that he himself made!

That being said, Dean is still a better romantic choice than Rio, who is hot and at least knows that Beth is smart and capable, but he is also a violent criminal who is quick to destroy property and threaten and hurt innocent people. So...Dean has not being a probably murderer going for him I guess?

Ruby getting one over on the cashier guy was super awesome. Tell him Ruby!
