So there’s Christian on The Kitchen and judging on the Thanksgiving competition, but where’s Jess?

So far she's been to the New York City Food and Wine Festival in October as Her blog with photos shows.  So I expect she'll turn up on some judging show like Christian has sometime in the future.

Justin has shown up as a judge on Guy’s Grocery Games and that program where Guy has his friends cook at his ranch.

It wouldn’t bother me if Jess was not on any other program.

Right but until he got into Guy’s cliche he was no where to be seen after the hour long special in his visio.

So do we have a forum for Eddie’s Christmas Cookie Challenge Show? He’s made it to season 2 and I think he’s getting better and better as a host. I hope FN keeps him around.

I really had no idea in which thread to post this so I'm probably going get a citation from the Mods!

However, I need to unload something that has bothered me for some time. I constantly hear the judges telling contestants NOT to use the word "delicious" when describing food. I get it.

But why is "ooey gooey" ok to use over and over and over again? Especially Ms. Twig (Giada). Everything she describes is ooey gooey and any contestant who uses "ooey gooey" does not ever get chastisted for using this stupid, gross term for describing food. What exactly IS "ooey"? Is it an Italiano word? No. Is it even a word?  Sometimes I really hate this stupid show. Thank you for letting me vent.

Ok. I Googled the "word" ooey (without the gooey) and the ONLY definition of ooey, according to CollinsDictionary.com is:  "A substance which is repulsive to look at or touch." None of the other dictionaries consider "ooey" a word.

Good job Food Network! Lol!

Remember Linkie? I don’t know who this guy is, she and her husband split after her time on this show because she started traveling all over the place. She cooks on yachts or something .... but should she be worried about her hairline?

Wow! Yeah she definitely has a hair loss problem.

So I woke up early this morning, Food Network was on the tv. There was an infomercial on for an electric cooker starting Justin Warner!  And I had just yesterday seen an episode of Guy’s Ranch Kitchen where Justin was one of the guests.

P.S.  The clueless “host” of the infomercial was Adam Gertler.

Was that for the Ninja Foodi?  I know he's been on their infomercials and has developed some recipes for it too.

I didn't know where to post this - Does anyone know if this show has been renewed?  By this time last year an announcement had already been made about last season and I can't find anything online about it.

Season 14 aired in mid June last year. I can find nothing on it being cancelled or airing at a later date. Maybe they are still making up their minds? Last season’s cluster with co-winners made me not want to watch again.

Did they ever highlight the female winner? I think the guy showed up as a judge on GGG, but the woman has been MIA (at least to me, and I admit that I am not a faithful FN viewer).

I missed that. I take it wasn't planned?

Christian was a "permanent" judge on the Thanksgiving cook-off show (all of 3 episodes).  He had been a guest judge on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay prior to being on FNS.   I don't believe Jess has been seen since "co-winning".

Last season was the worst yet.  And that's saying something with the Lenny season out there.  It's consistently one of their highest rated shows, but last year they shortened the season to 9 episodes.  Normally they would add contestants and make a popular show longer, not shorter.  Maybe even FN can't bear to sell the sham that one of these people will become a star and decided to drop the show.  That would be fine with me since it's become such a redundant charictiture of itself.  But I suspect we'll start seeing promos for it any day now after the Spring Baking ones are out of rotation.

I won't admit how I know this, but Jess was one of the judges on the finale of Worst Cooks in America last season.  Apparently that's the one and only time she's been allowed out in public.

When a “winner” is delegated to the background, you have to wonder how much backlash they got from viewers. I’d love to be a fly on the wall for those letters and meetings to discuss how to fix it.

True, it had to be bad with Jess Tom for them to put her on one minor thing then forget about her.  The public clearly did not like Tregaye Fraser and yet they still tried to shove her down the public's throat for a couple of years.

But then people liked Jason Smith and he was in a few things about a year ago and then disappeared.

One does have to wonder what they're thinking sometimes.

Even the focus groups they used to have were fake. A friend of mine who is an actress was in one, another woman who was in one spilled the beans about being an actress and getting paid to do this goofy gig. My friend told me that they were nudged by production as to who to like and who to be lukewarm about.

Jason is still a regular judge on Best Baker In America which comes back on Monday.

As I was typing that, I had an inkling she had been seen somewhere post-win but couldn't figure out where or if she really had.  I do remember that now and also remember thinking how embarrassing it was.

The Great Food Truck Race is airing Sunday’s at 9 starting in June. I think this show is finally dead!

Was last year the one with guy who reminded me of a creepy porn star?  "how ya' doing?"  Yes, I remember what I saw of the season being really bad.  I think there was a fireman that I liked.

Are you sure he didn't write it under a nom de plume?

It looks like Tregaye Fraser, winner of Season 12 has a new cooking show on OWN.  I almost didn't recognize her.  She's more polished and mature and is including her sons on the show.  I wish her luck.  This preview includes Tregaye and other cooking shows also premiering today on OWN.

So question. OWN is owned by Discovery, which owns Food/Cooking. Food/Cooking is rarely premiering new cooking shows these days. Why not have these shows on the channels where they would make the most sense and get a bigger audience?

He won the 4th season of Food Network Star.  He had a show for a few years on FN called "Big Daddy's House" and has appeared occasionally on "Guy's Grocery Games" when Guy has FNS alums compete.  I haven't seen much else of him.  I guess now he's doing infomercials.
