Now the mother of the child is defending her boyfriend.    She is also claiming the car was on fire and he was only trying to get the little girl out of there.

I didn't see any fire, I didn't see any firefighters with water or that stuff they spray on a car.

Dad and Mom of the Year !!    Right......

No car seat, high speed chase, drugs, spent bullets.

She also claims it was the fault of the police and needing to fill up the jail.

That poor child needa to be taken away from both of them. The father was throwing the little girl around like a ragdoll.

He was basically using his daughter as a human shield. He thought by holding his daughter, the police wouldn't arrest him.

Is anyone else sick of Tom saying  "riding dirty?" It was funny the first couple of times, bow it's just really redundant.

Also, Tom is says the most obvious things most of the time. I feel like he just repeats what we just watched.

Also, again not sure if it was a re-air, but there was one sobriety test I watched last night ... the guy (he had on different color socks, one white and one black) had to do the walking one foot in front of the other and then hold his leg up for a certain amount of time ... it was more like fraternity hazing ... I was watching thinking that regardless of whether this guy was guilty or not, he was being totally set up to fail ... I COULD NEVER HAVE PASSED THAT TEST (like another poster here, I had a stroke that while I have no visible symptoms, my balance is terrible and my poor short-term memory would make some of those things like -- how many steps? With what foot? THEN what? -- would make me seem if not drunk at least very scatter-brained).

I would never pass it, either!  If you are referring to the episode I think, the officer was REALLY sadistic to the motorist, having him raise his foot to 1-1000 2-1000 up to 20-1000 at least!  Come ON!  Anyone will fall over after that long!

Let's not forget the lawyer and suing RCSD.  Seriously, it was not Richland County Sheriff's Dept that caused your boyfriend to drive like a maniac with an unrestrained child in the car.  He ran because he (more than likely) fired a gun at the party and was the "disturbance" that all the calls referred to.  He ran because he broke the law.  Loved it when Kevin told him there were no outstanding warrants.

There was no way to know if the car was stolen and when he popped out with the child, that the child was even his.  Then to pull the race card?  Seriously?

Such a dipwad and POS!

So glad that Mastranani was not injured.  His college wrestling really paid off Sat. night.

I love RCSD and Sheriff Leon Lott!  They are the best around!

The dashcam video was released yesterday.  That was a very long chase.

Yes, I do!  One of my favorite parts of watching Live PD is playing the "Where are they?" game when I see RCSD!

I live about five minutes from the Leesburg Rd. I-77 exit.  :)  I drive by that exact location multiple times daily, so I recognized that spot right away!

LoL,  I really love this show and believe that RCSD is the best!  I am so glad that I live in RC.  Just think that Mastrianni will throw out the first pitch at the Fireflies game tonight.

It really is amazing to watch all the WTF moments on this show.  Thanks to A&E and Dan Abrams for bringing this show.

I wonder what the burn out rate is for cops who do this sort of work. They're continuously exposed to people doing the absolute most to ruin their own lives and the lives of people around them.

Not my car - yes, it is.

Never seen that pot before - it's in your purse

I don't smoke - They find drugs in the car

Haven't had anything to drink - Blows a 9000 on the breath test

I ain't trickin' - spoiler alert, she sure is

People who cart their kids around on drug deals

Folks trying to swallow bags of crack with children in the backseat

That one guy who tossed his kid around like a ragdoll while being taken down by police

No one can ever follow instructions as if they actually speak english.

How these cops don't lose faith in our species is a damn miracle. All the props to the ones who can remain polite and professional after seeing this every single day. I only watch it on tv and I feel second hand frustration.

I definitely know that I would never make it as a cop. I would have no patience at all. I give mad props to the men and women who become officers. They have so much patience, while some people who they arrest just try to bring them down.

On the other hand, another officer last night had pulled over a PT Cruiser full of (I think) older teenagers.  He was polite and charming and informative and just an all around good guy!  They ended up with the drug dog in their car, but the cop treated everyone with respect the whole time.

Did they ever find anything other than what the teens verbally owned up to?  Damn phone call.

I am soooo hooked!  I can't believe people act like assholes.  Just saw where the birthday girl jumps all over the officer for stopping her for no good reason.  His reason was her following too close, this drives me nuts too, and all the stuff hanging off the rearview mirror.  She jumped all over him.  I was pulled over once for driving in the fast lane which apparently is the pass-only lane in Michigan.  It was late at night and I was the only person on that stretch of highway.  I was on my way home from work.  You better believe I was all, "Yes sir, sorry sir, have a great night sir".

That cop was pretty nice to her; he had direct observation of her following too close.  I don't think I would have been as nice to her with that attitude!

However, that other cop (and I don't remember which jurisdiction) was SO greedy for an arrest!  Man was stuck for six hours in the ditch in Florida.  "Oh, sir, never mind what happened to YOU tonight, have you been drinking?"  That one just LEAPS for a reason to arrest someone.  He needs to be in another profession.

I honestly keep waiting for his dog to bite him when he reaches for the ball to get it back. Flex doesn't have a decent "out" or release trained on him so it always seems a fight when he wants to get the ball back. Flex is one of the few dogs on this show that actually does his job (some of these k9s make me go wtf) but it's clear that all that drive is also a potential hazard too and certain portions of his training are lacking. Makes me wonder if that's why we sometimes see him reward the dog and other times don't. Usually they reward for every correct hit, at least they should

Don't get me started on all the poor dog handling I've seen on this show in general. The cops who don't reward properly, have bad timing, give double and triple commands, etc. It's sad as shit to see that on my tv.

Half the time the dog isn't alerting on anything and they say it is. Not so.

Sorry this has turned onto a dog rant, but someone mentioned Flex and I couldn't help myself.

Flex and his handler do not mesh at all. The officer has very odd movements with the dog, and the movements are not very fluid. He does tease Flex with ball and never gives it to him when he achieves his goal.

Don't K-9 handlers actually LIVE with their dogs?  Like part of the family?

In most cases yes. The problem is training can be different depending on the department, and some officers and dogs get less of it than they need.

Or you get a handler that is just shit with dogs and all the practice in the world can't give a person the 'feel' for it they need to be most effective. Unfortunately I don't think many departments choose k9 handlers based on their dog skills and ability to handle a revved up dog. It's usually a pretty coveted position so people WANT to be handlers but wanting to be one and being a GOOD one are different things.

I think people would be surprised to know just how little training some of the dogs and handlers get especially when it comes to ongoing training. (Not the case with every department of course, but sometimes....)

All of this is way more than you asked for but I've been stewing on it since starting this show lol. The k9 scenes always seem to irritate me without fail.

My favorites too!!  they apparently got a couple weeks off from the cameras a few weeks ago and I was so mad! I thought maybe Lawrence was just off but he would pop up in the background on other stops.  It was fun to see both of them in the studio this weekend and Lawrence wasn't as nervous as his first time ;)

Having them kinda talk about that again this past weekend.... I am SO thankful the camera crew was there with Mastriani. I think if not, it could have gone WAY worse.... I think all the bystanders saw was a white cop trying to throw around a black guy with a kid, not knowing that they had been in a high speed chase beforehand and that was the reason for Mastriani being so aggressive.  I have no doubt that one of the bystanders may have taken the situation into their own hands.

My favorite scene from this weekend... I can't remember who or where it was.. but one of the cops pulled over a lady driving and he ask asked if she had any drugs in the car and then added "or any that you know of" and she said "no" and then he asks again "so there are no drugs or none that you know of?" and he goes "none that i know of"  HAHAHA BUSTED!!!!!!

The main thing I have learned from this show is that if trying to hide something in your car you don't say "not that I know of" because that will trigger a search lol

Can we talk about how "live" this show actually is? The press releases about the show indicate its only delayed by a minute or so to catch bad language.

I'm finding the live part hard to believe and I'll tell you why. I'm in the same time zone and relative geographic area as some of the departments featured on the show. The sun will be set at my house by an hour plus and yet they are showing a "live" episode where the sun is still illuminating the scene. If I cross reference the sunset time in the county where the department is located I'm unable to explain the sun on a "live" episode.

Its easy to tell the difference between artificial lighting and sunlight. I'm talking about the entire scene being sun drenched at 9:30 EST in SC? I wasn't aware the sun set after 9:30 in SC.

I suspect this show is time delayed at least 1 hour 30 minutes.

I get tripped up by that sometimes, too.  "Hey wait, there's no way it's that bright (or dark) in that state now".  It's usually when I miss them describing the scene as an 'earlier this week' clip.  Maybe that happened for you as well?

I'm loving playing Bingo during all the episodes.  Even the re-airs during the days.  It's just silly fun for me.

Good thought, but no. They put a caption in the upper right hand corner of the screen letting you know that is was pre-recorded.

Can I also bring up the fact that it would be nearly impossible for this show to actually be live as nobody appearing on a live show had the option to opt out? Its well known that COPS requires a release to be signed before anyone appears on the show. Some of the best moments on COPS have never aired because they couldn't get the release signed. How would someone sign a release on a live broadcast?

The call from Spokane, WA tonight was crazy. The guy had cuts and bruises and a bloody nose and the other people at the house said his girlfriend attacked him. The officer escorts her to the hospital where her bruises are now visible and her story gets "better" since she's calmed down. The Senior Officer called the guy who was initially on the scene to go back and arrest the guy. That's completely fucked up. If she was that badly bruised, they could've determined that at the scene. Had it been the other way around and the guy had gone to the hospital and was going to be arrested, his bruises would not have prompted any police officer to go back and arrest the chick who initially called and was initially determined to be the victim. No, the officer just felt sorry for her ass, saw she had some bruising on her arms, remembered that the guy was jacked, and decided he was the Primary Aggressor.

I wish the police would just come out and say, "Men, if your woman hits you, just lay down and take it. Don't defend yourself, don't try and stop her, don't do anything. After all, you probably deserve it. So just suck it up and take it because the any nick on precious' arm means you're going to jail. Fuck you."

The Spokane call was fucked up and the officers knew it. I hope this footage can help him in court if it goes that far. Sure doesn't help him tonight, though. Shallow, but gotta say the dude has a hot bod.

I've only noticed the 'previously recorded' disclaimer on the reruns or replays. The show has to be on at least a 30 minute delay. Its dark at 9 here in Atlanta so it certainly is in SC. Maybe that gives them time to have a waiver signed or it's not required in these municipalities. That's why they film there. Sort of like places where mugshots can be published.

I'm not sure she did.  5 or 7 days without sleep will screw you up.  I went 5 when my son got burned.  Totally flipped the fuck out.  I can't even imagine driving after that.  The staff at his Shriners Burn Center explained what happened to me, with my outburst.  I was so embarrassed but so thankful they knew what was going on because I didn't.

Plus, this girl didn't stop at 9.  She went at least 12.  Each time.  Which is what I would have done after 5 days of no sleep, tending to a loved one.  I get it, I'm not on my best but fuck, I can only do so much.  No need for any mind altering substances.  Sleep deprivation provides plenty.  Ugh. It's not a pretty situation.

Yes, you can.  The effects are similar to being blackout drunk.  It just happens in a different part of the brain than drugs/alcohol do.  If I'm not mistaken, the effect of no sleep happens closer to front and alcohol happens closer to the to back and top of your head.  I can tell you from experience, it's just the same exact feeling.  Like you are there, but not there.  And you fall out in the same way.

I went 5 days with less than 2 hours sleep and my feet were so bloated that I could hardly get my shoes on, let alone tie them.  We got med-evac'd out from Florida to Ohio and that flight was insane for me.  4 or 5 hours of sleep brought me back to sanity, though.  And then I crashed for about 20.  It's the worst.

I have no idea if this girl was being truthful but her story sure matched up with being awake, not drug induced, for days.

I believe that is has been reported that it is between 3-10 mins in delay of when we see it.  Sometimes, it might have started early and finished up in almost real time. Most of the time when they are showing my area, the "light" is pretty accurate (unless it was "earlier" which is on the screen.

People have said that the cameras can actually pick up more light than you would see in person.  So I think that's part of it. but I definitely think it's at least a 30 min delay

That's why you never see anyone's face blurred when it is live.  When they do the 'recorded earlier" segments, those people do get to have their faces blurred.  90% of these people freak out when they see the camera man and they are still shown.

He said the staying up for days and then suddenly sleeping was a common result of using meth - so he suspected she was coming off meth usage.

I think some of the departments would have allowed her to call someone to get a ride but maybe it's zero tolerance in AZ?
