That red glass tile. I just can’t. It reminded of that 1970s fake brick they used to use, usually with wood paneling. That realtor was spot on. That place was an eye searing disaster.

I had hair like Aubrey’s at the end back in the 80s. Yikes .

I keep watching this show, I kind of think these train wrecks are adorable. I need help.

I just saw the blue and green episode  I don’t even know what to say

Oh dear lord, she did NOT just paint that lovely brick acid green!

Another glam disaster from the master!  Now, we're seeing 'rustic glam' from this pair.  From what I can discern, that means wood paneling and sketches of deer on the walls with chandeliers dripping with faux pearls hanging from the ceiling.  It kinda boggles the mind how Aubrey manages to top herself week after week when it comes to ugly design choices.  I've noticed that we get more snarky realtors coming through and commenting on the 'decor' such as it is.  The throwback to the 70's paneling certainly caught their attention and not in a good way.  Of course, if the show is telling us the truth, they do manage to sell these monstrosities pretty quickly. so maybe people in Vegas are looking for something different than most of the rest of us.  Or the housing market really is that tight.

I must give props to Bristol, though, aside from seeming to be very affable and easy going, he appears to have real construction skills and does very good work.

The rustic glam house had multiple offers and sold for $315,000. What the what?!

Bristol had a couple of good ideas for this house. He suggested removing the wall around the fireplace, which I questioned until I saw the results. Then he also picked out some really nice tile for the main bathroom.

It was fun to watch them shop together until the red tile appeared.

How many different wood patterns were in the finished house? Aubrey stained the wood for the 70's paneled wall (#1) and then used a different light wood (#2) for the master bedroom. I think she also chose the laminate flooring with the faux square pegs (#3). Then Bristol stained the wood (#4???) for the upper wall of the fireplace.

I'm not sure how this has turned into appointment tv for me, but it has.

Watching the episode where Bristol has to cut the perfectly laid tile so Aubrey’s mosaic can be inlaid, then the mirrors in the cabinets.  Imagine seeing yourself first thing in the morning when you go to grab a cup for your coffee. Hubby is having a fit watching this...

This show is still entertaining but they are really pushing the truth on a lot of these properties. Tonight's episode is just one example.

https://www.redfin.com/NV/Henderson/2620-Twin-Pines-Ave-89074/home/29621183

Bought in Jan, listed at end of March, initial offer fell through and then took another month plus $9k off to sell in May.

The show's story was much different. They make it look like the place was purchased and remodeled in under a month, then sold in 24 hours.

They also are showing a lot more workers doing pretty much all of the work now. There is no way that the reno costs are as low as they suggest. I'm thinking that they are using HGTV money to cover the difference while they go with wild designs to make interesting TV.

That lady has some strange taste in decor......lol.  Home buyers in Vegas must have similar taste.  I get how they can remove some of the eyesores from the house, but, some of it is permanently affixed. Oh well......

I just saw that one last night. Yeesh - the mirrored cabinets. SO tacky. Every bedroom had some wild motif to it.

If these badly decorated homes are selling quickly, more than likely it's only because they're advertising the 'flip or flop' brand (i.e. as seen on TV). People in LV are no different than in other parts of the country, esp. since many come from CA to begin with. They are not looking for these Crayola colored/Hildi (from TS) decorated homes.

Also: tacky design aside, buyers are getting newly remodeled homes. They can change the fixtures and paint colors themselves if the location is good and all the remodeling work has been done for them, like making the floor plan open concept, new kitchen, island, flooring, etc. What I'd really like to know is how long the house remains staged while it's on the market. Imagine walking into one of these monstrosities with all the furniture gone - the colors, finishes and light fixtures would look even weirder!

I finally got to see the eye searing bruise house today. That black marble! That bizarre Juliet balcony! The crazy blue doors! I have to admit I liked the redone stairs, the tile in the kitchen is cool. But everything else? OMG your eye has no place to rest.

As for the time Aubrey wanted to redo that floor after it was laid, that’s insane. Marble cracks so easily.

Its turned into a must watch for me as well. It’s kind of terrible, but at least it isn’t the same thing over and over again. I appreciate that.

Originally I just liked Bristol but now I have jumped on the Aubrey train as well.  I love the fact she has no shame in having horrific taste. I like that she buys materials on clearance but I am sure there are better sale items she could have broken. I just don’t get it because she seems way more knowledgeable about construction and materials than Christina on the original show but Aubrey seems to deliberately seek out outrageous designs that belong in a parody vegas movie.

What I also don’t get is this idea that people who buy homes in Las Vegas want an over the top house. The one person I know who lives there has a house that you could pick up and drop anywhere in the country and it’s decor would pretty much match any neighborhood. Most people just want a comfortable home, not the dressing room of a showgirl. These homes aren’t high end so it isn’t as though people are expecting something special. It’s funny because I have stayed at many vegas hotels on the strip and most are very conventional and classy. At most you may get a theme room like at Planet Hollywood. None of this rooms would fit in with any decor Aubrey has dreamt up.

I like this couple but I know I watch just to see what visual nightmare she will come up with next. Black and blue in a small house? Bile green on walls? The point of appealing to many buyers seems lost on her as is streamlining the staging so that it doesn't overwhelm the viewers vision.

I also think the total rehab costs they give are phony. I don't care how much she saves on tile and flooring - contractors, plumbers and electricians are expensive.

I can only imagine what the Marunde home looks like!  Garish colors and giant alien light fixtures everywhere, faux fur pillows on a hot pink chair, mirrored accents.   Did they ever show their home and/or business office on the show?   Curiosity has me wondering if Aubrey's taste in decor shows up in her own home.

While watching this last episode, I found myself thinking that I liked this couple and that I, too, tune in to see what Aubrey has come up with this week. I give her credit for fresh ideas. I just wish they'd do a once-over of the changes before the staging so we could imagine what we could do to make the place more palatable for ourselves. Anyone else have problems remembering which one is Aubrey and which one is Bristol?

The Boulder City "cottage" would have looked so much better if she kept the yellow to a minimum.  It looked nice on the backsplash, kitchen alcove, the front door and a couple of the accessories.  All the yellow on the doors, moldings, pieces of furniture, accents, etc was just way too much!  The light fixtures were too modern for the space.  The bathrooms came out kind of nice...for an Aubrey reno.  If the mirrors and fixtures were replaced and the wall color repainted, they would be a lovely.

I am so tired of hearing Aubrey say "tiny."  EVERYTHING is tiny!  Every episode she complains about the house or the rooms being tiny.

I find it difficult to believe they sold the house for $425k!  The house across the street was completely rehabbed and sold for $60k less 2 months ago and it has a pool!  Here is the listing:     https://www.redfin.com/NV/Boulder-City/628-Avenue-A-9005/home/29732216

I looked online and the only listings for Bristol and Aubrey's house is the previous 2bd/1ba 700 sq ft MLS from 2017.  Bristol is still listed as the current owner per the county records.

I agree so much.  The backsplash was very nice, but then it went overboard with the yellow stripes on the island, the yellow stools at the island, and the different shades of yellow everywhere else.  One or two yellow doors would have been a fun eye-catcher, but EVERY door just made it obvious "decorating".  That master bedroom was a mishmash of pink and more yellow.  Oy, Aubrey - she has to learn when to stop!

I was also suspect at the claim that this yellow home sold the same day(?) for the exact price they were asking.  @juliet73's detective work makes me wonder how truthful this statement is.  Would they fudge the truth because a flip show where it looks like the houses don't sell is hard to promote?

If you follow any of the flipping shows on this site, you’ll discover many homes that either didn’t sell, sold much later than the show said it had and/or sold for a lot less than we were told.

I think Aubrey 's style is what keeps her on tv!  A regular home most of us want and enjoy isn't tv show material.

The "trainwreck" factor will only hold your interest for so long though, like a fad. It's amusing at first, but then it gets annoying because you become more aware that they're only doing it for shock value and to keep people tuning in. I'd bet money Bristol and Aubrey's own home is tastefully decorated with muted tones and high end, neutral finishes. They've just decided on outrageous Vegas glam as their "hook."

Finally...a design that is more normal than "glam".  Probably because that neighborhood wouldn't tolerate anything less...if they wanted top dollar.

Yeah both episodes were pretty tame designs. For the country club house I really liked how they tied in the pool to the house. Looked pretty nice. Because they required so many poles inside, the wood beams looked a bit overdone and kind of all over the place. At least they didn't paint them or put crappy green shelves all over the beams. Also surprised that they were that off on what they should list it at. 400 to 450 is a pretty big jump.

The condo was also pretty tame for this couple. I wouldn't want that mural but it did turn out better than I thought it would.

Both claim to be sold within a day or two. Still not buying that but didn't bother researching the properties to see what was true.

The budgets for both of these homes combined is what Property Brothers claim to spend on a single room in Brother vs Brother.

I liked the pool tile.  I know they had to keep the pillars to support the house, but I didn't like the natural wood look, plus with the ceiling beams, it was way too much.  If the beams were removed and the pillars were painted black to match the iron rail, it would have looked a lot better, IMO. This house had so much potential, but once again, Aubrey ruined it with her "design".  They should have removed the mirrored ceiling instead of drawing more attention to it.  The light fixtures, awful accessories and too much wall "art" left this house looking too busy, too crowded and too tacky.

I hate that they ALWAYS paint the trim/doors/baseboards in every house.  They should just leave them white.

I call BS on the $450k price!  Homes for sale or recently sold within a half mile of that address are all high 200's/low 300's.  However, according to county records, the house is still owned by Bristol and hasn't been listed for sale since March 2018 when he bought it.

I just started the condo episode so I won't hate on it until I finish watching it.  However, it was listed on May 1, 2018 and shows "contingent."  However, this condo is not located anywhere near where they said it was.  In the beginning of the show, Aubrey said it was "right around the corner" in an "artsy, hipster area in between a bunch of casinos."  Translation:  downtown.  In reality, it's in the same complex as that purple condo atrocity that she did a few months back!  It's about a 30+ minute drive from downtown.

One thing I just realized about this show - they don't do the "drama" moments like a lot of other reno/flipping shows use.  If you happen to watch Zombie House Flipping or Flipping Vegas, you've seen how those shows always have some (manufactured} disaster, calamity or fighting amongst the hosts to hype up the tension.  Those shows are constantly having a situation arise, like getting shut down by the city for lack of permits, or broken pipe flooding a room, or thieves stealing supplies overnight.  So far, this show hasn't stooped to that level.  I just want to see some renovation and decorating, not bad acting.

I agree. The biggest drama they had last night was when the water line to the fridge was spraying, and that was over in 30 seconds. Plus, there’s no manufactured drama between the two of them. (They’re actually kinda cute together.). I think HGTV has decided that the theme for this show will be Aubrey’s crazy decorating. Which, compared to the original F or F, I like.

I could not stand the mural in that condo.  What on earth.  Frankly all that guy's paintings looked hideous to me.  And a giant face looming over the bed?  Stop!  This is the first episode of this show I've seen...I shudder to think that garish mural was her idea of a tamer design.

I agree, the mural was way over the top and so specific, that I doubt most buyers would be impressed.  It would be an easier fix than a lot of Aubry's 'design' choices. but no way I want the bird woman of Vegas looming over me while I try to sleep.

And, yes, it does say something about the godawful designs Aubrey has done on the show that this was one of her more subdued houses.

I finally had a chance to catch up on my Flip or Flop Vegas obsession.

The opening to the golf course club condo almost derailed my watching, and my complaint isn't attached to the decorating for once. Aubrey was wearing her heeled black shoes on the putting green! Golf Etiquette 101 is to be respectful of the conditioning of the greens. No spikes, heels or stilettos allowed. Ever!

The black and white golf course condo was an Aubrey and Bristol flip that I could see purchasing, with removal of the overhead mirror feature in the master bedroom. I appreciated they were careful removing the kitchen cabinets so that they could be donated, along with the furniture and belongings left in the condo.

Now on to the condo with the mural. I didn't like the faux brick paneling for the mural in the bedroom. Thank goodness it was painted white. I agree with everyone that the mural wasn't for me. It's too large and too personal a decorating style.

Okay. I believe you.  Sometimes, I think she does things to shock and not because they are items on sale.  I'm not sure why she would think buyers would want many different shades of blue in a house.

I've now seen many episodes, and this show totally writes itself:

AUBREY: What this house needs is black railing, black doors, and black cabinets.

BRISTOL: Great! Let's do it.

AUBREY: And here's some ugly-ass green paint I want to put everywhere.

BRISTOL: I don't know. I'm not sure about this color.

(Later, when we see Bristol was right and the green indeed looks hideous)

BRISTOL: I was wrong, babe. It looks great. (No. It doesn't) But oh no! There's a dramatic unforeseen development that's going to cost money.

[Bumper for commercial break where we see out-of-context broker reactions that imply the hate everything]

BROKERS: We love everything. You've priced it perfectly.

AUBREY: Everything went according to plan, and we made $30k. Now here's another episode where the exact same thing will happen.

I think this is why I keep watching. They're drama free and work well together. I also like Aubrey's construction knowledge. I still think she needs to do a line with Barbie. She could come up with the ultimate glam Barbie house.

I am catching up on episodes. The Boulder City house has too much yellow. I like a chair used in the staging. Does this happen to anyone else? You'll like an item used in one of these shows but there are no resources to track it down.

I expected more from the Spanish Trail house.

Usually most of the stuff used by the stagers can be found on Wayfair, JossandMain or Overstock.

How about the purple condo, where they spray painted the existing kitchen back splash tile, and decided they wanted matching grout, so got out the spray guns again and everything was purple.  Something like that back splash paint will start coming off very easily.

That episode made me cringe. I had to keep telling myself she designs for the glam moment not longevity.

They are renewed for season 3 and it begins in Jan.  I looked through the county records and they bought a couple 1 BD/1 BA condos and one SF home.  Not sure if they are going to be featured in S3, but you can definitely tell they were designed by Aubrey - it's got her "style" written all over them, especially the SF home.

Their remodeling is ok but their (hers) design aesthetic is beyond awful.  Do people in Vegas really live in houses that look like this? I guess if you were selling the house to a sixteen year old girl the purple house would be great but you aren’t. I just can’t with this show. Also, their pricing scale is OTT.

Having gone through a couple hundred homes in Las Vegas, I can say I've never seen a home modeled in their "Vegas glam" style. Most homes are in the brown/beige color schemes. Ranch style. Most remodels are in your typical grey/white tones. Even the model homes which tend to have more bold styling don't go that crazy other than some questionable feature walls, most of which can be easily repainted.

Absolutely not. Most of us are quite normal. I don't know where she gets her "style" from. Maybe she visited one too many brothels.
