That is a little harsh :-/. She is a chef the braids helped her keep her hair out of the way. She should have taught Jinger to braid. I know its a snark site but I hate snarking on people who might be perfectly nice ( unlike the Duggar lot who spread a lot of hate/ignorance ect).

Anyway

I think I need a lobotomy because I really enjoyed the Jinger and Jeremy episode. Compare them to Derrick and JIll. Those two dimwits can barely string together a sentence vs Jinger and Jeremy who had fun little banter and made *gasp* jokes!!!

They really need to drop the little segments with the duggar boys. its awkward and boring as fuck. Austin is a major creepo and i feel really awkward watching anything that has to do with selling joy off. My heart hurts for her. She is too young and stupid to make this decision right now

They should really just focus on JInger/Jer and Jessa/Bn. The only four kind of non awkward people with personality.

I agree with all you said.  Even Jeremy's grandma tried to show Jinger to how to pull her hair back when cooking.  And they really are fun to watch.

Showing producer conversations with the Duggar young men is embarrassing!  They are sooooo ignorant and almost seem proud of their ignorance - like "we are in the 'world' but not of the world".  That's their pious, self-righteousness talking.  They think it makes them appear higher morally than those of us who watch their train wreck every week.  Instead it shows us just how ignorant they are and this so-called "home schooling" that Michelle was doing was sorely lacking.  I knew what a joey was when I was 10 years old!

I'm curious,do you think the girls would ever be allowed to end a courtship?  I know one of the boys had a brief courtship but then ended it, wonder if same goes for the girls?  Joy I'm looking at you.....

The sinner twin is the one with the curly hair who always sits on the right during the talking heads. I personally don't know how he "sinned," maybe someone can enlighten me.

All we know is he was sent off to Alert twice, which, you know, is a camp for sinners.  You know, the critical thinkers, the go getters, the wanna see the world guys, the wanna be in the world guys, and, of course, the masturbators!

Meek is all cute and adorable...until you realize you have married a child who needs to be supervised, helped and guided through everyday situations.

I get the feeling that Jeremy wants to be a teacher to Jinge. He got the wife he wanted. I think he will thoroughly enjoy helping and guiding her. Just be careful, Jeremy, you may create a monster as she grows in to being a worldly, independant woman! Then the real problems will begin because she won't be the meek, sheltered womanchild you married!

Austin is severely lacking in personality but there were several things I liked. First, I noticed he was the only one who thanked Joy when she brought the boys glasses of water. Second, when he asked her permission to hug her after she accepted the courtship proposal. I know it was completely stiff and formal, but I appreciate that he respected her boundaries, unlike Tabitha's fiance who just takes what he wants. If he's legit flipping houses and has a heavy equipment operator's license, then maybe he's not a complete dud. It's a sad day when basic courtesies make a guy a Prince, but the bar is set low for this crowd.

Babe and Cringe are kind of cute together. They seem like typical newlyweds and have a much better rapport than the other marrieds did. I also thought Jinger looked really cute throughout the honeymoon, especially in that shirt dress with the leggings. She looks like she's picked up a couple healthy pounds and it's doing wonders for her figure.

Something I found odd was Jessa and Bin's TH at the beginning. When Jessa said Jinger didn't want anyone visiting for six months, Bin got kind of surly and said "whatever." He came off like a jealous ex. I notice both Bin and Jessa seem really intent on becoming regulars in Laredo. Are they so bored in their marriage they need Jinger and Jeremy to be a buffer?

Am I the only one who isn't that excited about Jing and Jer? I'm glad they're having fun - first time getting action; getting to vacation without 25 other people; etc. But when Jill got with Derick and he took her to Broadway, introduced her to Nepali food and hummus - we said the same - a college man with life experience was going to change her world. Now look at them - fundie missionaries. I see the same for Jing and Jer. Sure the honeymoon is fun and he's excited to introduce her to the world. But we already saw a scene of them grocery shopping where he explained you buy a block of cheese and grate it, as she stood there going, what, really?? He'll grow tired of being Jinger's tutor and of being married to someone with the intellect of a 12 yr old. And with Jer when he gets tired of it -- I suspect it'll come out as meanness and control towards Jing as he makes her feel like she's too stupid to function without him. Don't know why but that's the vibe I get.

I can hazard a guess here and say yes!

Also Jeremey and Jinger appear to have the only signs of actual life and energy in that whole family so yes they will attract other family members. I am willing to give Babe the benefit of the doubt and see how he pans out but only so far as he's buying into this bs that the Duggars spew.

Yeah - I was thinking - you had your newlywed time and chose to make a baby ASAP - do they not get that time without visitors?? I've always thought there was some interest btwn Bin and Jinger. The way they interact is too casual and familiar for this sect where brothers and sisters basically aren't supposed to speak past age 10. Like when they were headed to Laredo early on and Bin was asking her if she was nervous, if she got any sleep etc. I don't think it's anything inappropriate, I just think Bin and Jing are a better personality fit than he is w bitchy Jessa. Of course in the normal world, you'd hang out in groups and then start dating the person you clicked with. But in this cult you have to make a decision based on looks/assumptions of personality w/o ever speaking to the girl and ask her daddy you officially want to get to know her. I'm thinking if halfway thru that you went back and said, actually I like her sister better, you'd be kicked to the curb ASAP.

Maybe they had hoped to use them as a springboard out of JimBobLand and now they have to postpone that for a while .

Bin may be better suited to be with Jinge but I'm glad she didn't end up with him.  She has a much better chance with Jeremy than with that dolt Bin.  My biggest concern with Jeremy is his career--I don't think he has what it takes.  I'd like to see him get a regular job, or maybe an assistant job with a bigger fundie lite church.  Jinger would thrive is a more mainstream church.  It was nice to see the sleeveless dresses on her and I think she planned ahead for that since she had two suitcases with her.  She and Jeremy had probably talked about stuff like that and I hope to see her be more like Alyssa Bates. I think Jinge is thrilled to get away from Tontitown and I'd love to see her end up in a larger Texas city.

I was a bit encouraged by the courtship proposal.  Joy actually blushed and seemed very happy.  Austin seems just like her father tho, and that is creepy.  I could see Joy really enjoying flipping houses with her husband, but I imagine pregnancies will get in the way.  Really, within the cult, Joy could do so much worse.

Obviously, Jeremy has seen to it that after the way they all behaved at his place, that he was putting his foot down. It will be good to keep her away from her overbearing family. Jeremy believes in "leave and cleave", even if the rest of them don't. He just said nobody was coming to his housemate but I'm sure he won't mind a weekend visit to Arkansas, since he seems to get on with some of the siblings.

I agree. I don't think Jeremy would mind a weekend visit from JD or Joe, but he doesn't want Michelle using their apartment as a dumping ground for the little kids, and he doesn't want Benessa taking up permanent residence in the guest room. Now that the Duggars have a ten-seat plane, it's not outside the realm of possibility.

I've never really felt Ben was happy in his marriage.  I think he realizes he married way too early.  IMO he would have been a lot happier had they waited at least a year before having a baby.

He sees the fun J & J are having and I honestly believe he's a little jealous.  Jealous that Jeremy is more less established with a place to bring his bride.  Jealous that Jeremy is more mature and obviously is making Jinger (so far) very, very happy.  I mean, Jess wanted their first kiss to be private after the marriage ceremony and here J & J just gobbled each other up.  They have chemistry and unfortunately Ben & Jess do not.  Jess wanted to get married and start having babies - pure and simple.  Ben had raging hormones and wanted to have sex with Jess and the only way to do that was get married.  An older man might would have guided her towards a more interesting that the Duggar-world.  Jess seems fairly happy I guess, but Ben does not.

One more thing, in the episode last night, it was the first time I heard a Duggar girl actually laugh rather than that Stepford ha-ha that they all do, even Joy.

I feel so sorry for Jana.  In 2-3 years, she's lost four sisters and now has quadruple the work load (or maybe triple since Jessa probably didn't pull her weight around the house).  Since going to college or seeing the world will never happen to her, I'd like to see her begin courting just to have a chance to escape.  She said she wanted someone who worked with their hands.  There must be some nice mechanic or carpenter in town, but the thing is, the older she gets, the less her chances.  Most fundie guys her age are probably already married.  And no way would JB let her marry a divorced man.  My fantasy is she'd fall head over heels for a TLC production guy who'd take her away and show her a whole new world.  I know--never happen.

If Jana has her "eye" on someone like Michaela Bates did and waiting for that person to get the nerve up to ask JB and finish what they are doing/studying , there is still a little hope. She is very close to Michaela's age and Michaela has only been married  a little over a year.

I wonder if JB knows/cares about the biological clock..Jana is getting a late start in pushing out a big number unless, she has a multiple-set birth(s)

Michael "Michaela" Christian (Bates) Keilen - Birthday: January 23, 1990

Jana Duggar- Birthday Jan 12, 1990

There is not enough chocolate, root beer, and knock me out drugs in the universe to help me watch Jessa/Ben and Jinger/Jeremy be the stars of their own TLC show. Watching them now is painful enough. I would rather be force to have a colonoscopy every freaking week and have my three sisters-in-laws move across the street from me than watch the four of them.

I think TLC is starting to hit the bottom of the Duggar couple pool. First they were trying to pawn off Josh and Anna, and we all saw what happen with this train wreck. Next time Derick and Jill, or as I like to refer to them as train wreck number 2. Jessa and Ben are now featured more and more as they try to prove Ben is a suitable husband and father as he tries his hands at new things aka Christian Rap Music and his football camps. Now we have couple number four warming up in the ballpark. Yes, everything looks good for Jeremy and Jinger so far, but as we all know looks can be deceiving. And lets not forget couple number five, Austin and Joy. The less said about them the better. I do admit I have tried to watch the last few episodes on youtube, but five minutes of watching the Duggar line of drivel makes me want to beat my head against the wall.

I don't know what Duggarville must be thinking of Jinge's porn shoulders out for the whole world to see....I'm digging these two. They seem far more spontaneous than the other Duggar couples in their affectionate moments. Hoping Laredo leads to a more normal life for Jinger but we've been baited and switched before...

I finally got to watch this in real time rather than recorded.  I had to laugh when Babe and Ging were driving and she was freaking out.  I could relate.  I am not a good passenger.  I usually have to look at my hands to keep from shrieking.  It drives Mr. Natalie nuts who used to drive for a living.

In Australia I noticed that on Babe's right side just near his mouth/bottom lip looked like a piercing.  I kept looking to see if it was food or something but it looked like it was a hole.  Then in the TH you can't see it but I thought I might have seen that it was covered in makeup.  Am I seeing things?  I might have to watch it again to check.

I know I harp on hair but jeez louise Gingers hair looked terrible.

Joy has more crows feet than a 19 year old should have.  They are rivaling mine and I am 48.  Their god sucks the youth right out of them.

TLC gave JB a little more air-time and a TH last night... I wonder if that is a trend. I had gotten used to him staying in the background and saying very, very little.

I agree with an earlier post about how Austin described what he liked about Joy to JB. He was describing a hiring farm hand - "hard worker" , "diligent worker", "gets the younger ones working", "good delegator". What did he do - fill out an employee (or wife) evaluation form ?

I would put my foot up a young man's behind if he said something like that about my girlie. And  I could take his comments another way - like does he plan on NOT working, since you are watching a young lady's work habits ?

I'm getting terrible vibes from Austin and Joy.  He couldn't even name something unique about her other than the obligatory "diligence" and "a heart for the Lord".  I'm those thing too, Austin.  Where's my walk to the cliff?  My brothers would have thrown him over the edge.

Austin: "I've known her since she was five."

Joy:  "We met five years ago."

Austin:  "We grew up going to church together and were friends."

Joy: "This dude just started showing up one day."

They need to get their story straight.

"Babe, you're freaking me out...*whispers* to be honest." *remembers to keep sweet* "....but you're doing great!" It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Although I could do without the bedroom eyes, it was interesting to see Jinger show a little bit of personality and humor.  She seems to be more "with it" than her siblings and is more willing to just go with the flow.  She even admitted that Jeremy has already expanded her mind a bit.

Jinger's face when she said "It's not like we just got married or anything." was great.  I don't know if I'm annoyed because I think she looks like a child who was just told "no" or if I applaud her for showing some personality.

I truly don't think Jinger is as meek as she portrays herself on camera. On camera Boob is always watching. Now she is finally free and I think Jer will let her prosper.

When she made the snarky "it's not like we just got married or anything" comment, I knew that a spark of life was in there somewhere. I'm on the fence with Jeremy. I can't decide if he's going to let her spread her wings, or if he wants to keep her the dumbed down bumpkin so he can have the upper hand. I had hopes for Derick too at one point. If Jer can walk away when Boob eventually dangles that renovated building in front of his face, he'll have officially earned my respect.

Forsyth family campground info. (link)

At the family camp, founders Terry and Roxanne Forsyth have recreated an 1800s fort and old west town for an unforgettable vacation. In 1995, Terry made a life changing decision. God used this decision to place a burden on his heart for families. He realized that the American families of today were too busy and fragmented. Terry wanted to recreate an era where things were a little slower and families could spend time together. Thus a vision of an 1800’s style town began. After an out-of-state move, land acquisition in the Ozark’s of Northwest Arkansas, and several years of construction, Fort Rock Family Camp became a reality.

I agree with many of you that Jinger showed spark. She also seemed comfortable enough with Jeremy to say when she was uncomfortable and even scolded him a bit when he continued to laugh at her nervousness while riding in the car.

I like that Bec ate with them and the scene in it's entirety seem like all were having fun teasing each other. All 3 were good sports.

I almost stopped watching during the scene when they were packing for their flight to Australia. I felt like I knew too much. I know Jinger's a grown woman but it felt like - little girl lost - to me.

Oh and Joy. Hmmm... I went back and forth between thinking she was acting or mimicking her sisters to thinking OMG she feels all grown up and is thrilled to be sitting next to her man. Either way she has the maturity of a 13 year old, and at least in her case isn't that far off.

This is so horrible for me to say and I'm going to hell, but here goes. When Joy was sitting on that rock with her underbite and tongue practically protruding from her mouth, she reminded me of the character Bubba from Forest Gump. She's just um, rather speshul.

All I see is her mimicking her sisters. Not a shred of anything else.  She's got the stupid, 'adoring' stare down as well as Jessa's annoying laugh.

Was there no other room to film Austin and Jim Bob talking? Poor kid bumped his head on the ceiling when they got up.

When Joy accepted Austin's courship proposal, the camera showed her profile with a huge smile on her face.  Right at that moment, Joy seemed to be almost skeletal.  She's lost a lot of weight! I agree with another poster who said Joy has deep crow lines.  During that stretched out smile, her face looked really dry and old.  She's 19!  I also agree that she's mimicking her sisters in rattling off the same old lines of "I prayed for this all my life", etc.

I noticed BEC's cheeks and neck were red blotched during her two reprimands. I wonder what Jinger thought of her nose piercing.

Jinger's face had the worst acne I've seen on her.  I'm surprised TLC didn't cover it better with makeup.

Did he always have an office? That doesn't seem to be the same office Ben asked Jessa to court in. It looked to me the office Austin talked to him in was the baby alcove off his and Michelle's bedroom. Jinger was totally wearing leggings. I'm sure she could claim she was wearing a dress, but let's be honest, it was a long shirt and I loved seeing her in it.

I have to imagine the - no visitors for 6 months - is coming from Jer not Jinger. Maybe that's what Jer wants. Maybe Jer said it to Jinger jokingly and Jinger relayed it to her fam thinking - oh it's his place and this is what my headship wants so no guests. I can't 100% believe Jinger wants this. Sure -- I'm sure she was dreaming of sexy time with Jer and dreaming of what it'd be like to live in a quiet home without 20 people walking around - so yeah she wants the quiet and privacy. BUT I can't imagine she wasn't nervous about leaving the only home and the only "friends" she's ever known. This isn't a woman who has gone away to college or even summer camp alone; she is NOT used to making friends AT ALL. Anytime she has gone somewhere like fundie camp or a mission or even to visit Jer's family -- she went with a few siblings in tow. These really are the ONLY people she talks to - so I can't imagine she doesn't want to see them at all for 6 months. I have a feeling that in a month or two she would not mind at all if one of her sisters or even one of her brothers (like Jer) came and stayed for a few weeks - bc she'll be a bit lonely all day when Jeremy is at work. See this is why I suspect Jeremy is a bit controlling - he may either directly or jokingly say how he wants things to be and Jinger jumps at his command so as not to piss off the headship on day one.

In any event though, I thought Bin's "whatever" reaction was ridiculous. I'm sorry Bin -- if someone doesn't want you to visit for any reason or for no reason at all -- it's not for you to say "whatever" and just show up. Sorry that you're bored out of your mind with your marriage, 2 kids, and living under your father in law's thumb - not to mention your bitchy wife -- any 21 yr old would be. But that still isn't Jer and Jinger's problem - you can't be using their place/life as entertainment/distraction for your own life. If you want to go someplace -- earn some money and take a vacation.

I still think the problem is that Babe is actually (almost) interesting, has interests outside of Jesus, possesses a sense of humor, is a jock, and is a guy's guy which immediately attracted Bin. Because let's face it nobody he knows has any of those qualities. Babe actually reads books which Bin is still trying to figure out.

I agree. Half a year with no visitors is a long time for a normal person, let alone one who grew up as sheltered as Jinger. I understand Jeremy is trying to establish that it's not an open door policy for thirty Duggars to show up in the Stink Bus, but we've yet to see Jinger return home for even a weekend visit and that's odd, IMO. I thought for sure Jinger would at least come see Henry, but she hasn't been spotted in Arkansas since her wedding.

I feel like with each of these engagements - I and many here - have tried to find that some way this marriage would be better for the Duggar girls than the isolated TTC life. With Derick and Jer it was - college educated men; with friends; who would show their wives a whole different life full of Indian/Greek/Chinese food, cable news, TV shows, going out with friends etc. We can see how it worked out with Derick. We'll see how it goes with Jer - I think it's a 20-80 shot that her life is better (meaning 20% chance that she experiences a fun normal 20-something life). With Bin - there were no positives in my mind of marrying a jobless 19 yr old who needs to clean your father's toilets for work.

Not so sure about Austin. I put him more in the Bin category. Unlike Bin the positive is that he DOES have marketable skills - construction; bulldozer business; pilots license; house flipper. So he will be able to earn a living. But for Joy I feel like she's going from daddy's fundie home to Austin's fundie home. Unlike 2 of her sisters there is ZERO chance this guy exposes her to Broadway, sushi, or TV or books or even interesting/diverse friends - since a large number of his friends are Duggar brothers and I imagine the rest are other church people that Joy already knows. It'll be the same surface level God talk between them as they try to make conversation in their empty home post-marriage. It may even be worse than Bin bc Bin was HOT for Jessa. I think they weren't trying to make tons of conversations when they were alone in the house pre-kids bc they were getting it on as much as possible. I don't necessarily see Joy and Austin's life like that. Sure she'll do her wifely duties, but I feel like both of them will see it as a duty - to try to get pregnant.

Did Jeremy really say "fart"? I gusss I missed it, and I'm shocked. I guarantee that kind of talk doesn't fly with his in-laws. In my experience, nice Southern church kids aren't allowed to say anything cruder than "poot."

I live in the American South. I'm in my 30s, and the words fart, butt and crap were not allowed. Those are not proper words for ladies ;) I still find fart to be vulgur. I have young children and it's poot and bottom.

Kristin Chenoweth tells a funny story about the time her Oklahoma high school decided to have for their spring musical... "A Chorus Line".

Unfortunately, to sing this musical you have to get your way past a little song called... "Tits and Ass".

This called for a heated faculty adviser conference, after which she was advised that they could okay the song if they smoothed it out as... "Boobs and Butt".

I should think it's a little odd that they'd have that attitude about animals, though not I suppose if we're thinking simple force of habit causes them to take that tone?  It's not like they were asked to identify Tove Lo or Terrence Howard; marsupials strike me as pretty innocuous.  (We could even argue considering Noah, that animal husbandry belongs in the first tier of fundy knowledge thus completely acceptable.)

While they could spend a weekend together here and there as far as I am concerned with no ill effects, for some reason I feel like I've seen a 6-month separation from overly close family of origin, advertised as healthy for child brides.  I could be wrong.

You might be on to something. When children go to boarding school, they're usually not allowed to contact their parents for the first few weeks, so they can adjust to the separation. I'd imagine Jeremy is using the same philosophy on Jinger. Maybe he figures what works for one sixth grader will work for another.

If lackluster not so pretty Joy can find someone to court her, then why can't beautiful Jana? I really want to know what's going on with her. I just don't get it. I wish Jeremy would introduce her to one of his friends and she would fall head over heels. I would love to see her have someone "show her the world", just like Jer is doing for Jinge.

Yeah, maybe after a couple of months of constant humping and pawing at each other, they will settle in a little and agree to have visitors.

The Duggars have a "takeover" attitude. And they travel in mass. They are used to being the center of ones universe, so they would expect Jer-Jing full time and attention when they come. And probably would expect a full literary of events. Look how J&M questioned everything(and kinda crossed the line) we they came to visit during engagement.

Let's face it. We all have family/friends that we had to explain some ground rules to when they visit. Some we need to repeat the rules BEFORE they visit. We're glad to see them, but also glad to see them go. too.

Jer-Jing might need to tell them they can come in a limited quantity. I think that is what Alyssa Bates did - esp. around birth of baby #2.

I don't think Jer would mind Ben an Jessa and their 2 little ones. Same for Jill/Derrick and there soon-to-be two little ones. But if Joy comes, with Austin, that is 3 individual grown people who need accommodations and attention.

I'm just glad Jer&Jing discussed, even though they didn't probably agree, on visitors beforehand. Visitors don't mean harm(usually), but even the best houseguest (family or friend) can get in the way of what you need or want to do. Too bad Jinger not independent enough to get a $1 Megabus ticket and go back home every time she feels homesick.

I wonder if there's just nobody in their area for Jana to date. Most Fundie guys in the 27-32 age range are probably already married. The Duggars have a small social circle and from the pictures I've seen of their gatherings it's mostly women and hordes of children. Since Joshgates, the family doesn't seen to travel en masse like they used to, so I don't think Jana has much opportunity to meet eligible bachelors. JD can't even find a wife and the boys are given much more leeway to date outside the cult.

I wonder if Jana doesn't  want to be a wife and/or mother or she's overly picky - looking for man that meets her "dreams and prayers", as opposed to meeting  a man and seeing him for what he is. I liked the rumor of Tim Tebow showing interest, but the man works on Sundays and travels. That is a no-no in their spouses. So, she probably gave him the axe for that simple reason.

Since she was under J&M tutor for the longest, who knows her head was filled with during her late-teen/formative years. I say the same for her twin - JohnDavid. Yes the man is a bit of a dullard, but I do think he will bring that check home every week and be home every night.

Being the oldest girl, I wonder if she tired of the "motherly duties" - taking care of babies. She might feel like an empty nester now that Josie is getting older and appears healthy.

OR - just to keep us viewers interested and the TLC $$ rolling in, she & JB is keeping her love life a secret . when JB feels the $$ is going to stop - he will make TLC keep the cameras rolling and play "his highest/best card". Look what happens when eligible long-time bachelors/bachelorettes  choose someone - the press can't leave them alone until the wedding day.

Well I am old and I am living in the West and never heard the words poot or fluff used as fart before today.  Most of my cousins were in the South and I don't recall ever hearing them used.

I think the Duggar boys are more restricted and oblivious than the girls.  They seem to get less in the way of social opportunities and are more under the thumb of JB.  Their Talking Heads reflect this.  There is just no social interaction at all, no worldly leafing through a National Geographic they may spot someplace in town, or browsing on a computer, nothing.  They just get chores, fixing things, ways to make money without having a job, and Jeebus talk all day long.  The girls seem to be out and about more.  I really feel terrible for the boys, and this is a rather new reaction as I used to think they should have had enough interaction with the camera crew or trips they took to take them out of their stilted environment.  Now I think the influence was too strong and too long lasting.
