Interesting - I was still going by Leah living in Elkview, which is only 15 miles from Charleston. Maybe Corey still lives one Elkview? Which brings up another point: why do these parents who want more time or custody with their kids (Leah, Amber, Jenelle) live so far away from the kid? They have no job to keep them there. Why would they not all move super close and get as involved as possible in their lives like Jo? He's the only one that seems to show interest in the actual kid rather then just crying about wanting to see them. It's so weird. It would also keep these poor kids from having to be in a car for half the week going back and forth.

It's not weird. Amber, Leah and Jenelle do not really want to be parents, especially parents with daily responsibilities/duties/tasks for their children - so they live far away.  They are on a series that pays them to be a "Teen Mom". Once every 4 weeks they have to look like a mom for the camera. Amber has gone months without seeing her child.

Gary is buying up his block. Amber could buy the other side of the street or buy 5 minutes away. Then she could see Bew Bew all the time.  She cries crocodile tears for her child but has no interest in the kid.

Ugh. That's so damn sad. I just can't with Jennelle whining about wanting her son back when she bought land an hour or however far away. If she actually cared about the kid she would have bought a house in Barb's neighborhood and gotten involved in his school and his other activities. That way if she ever DID get him back, the transition would be much easier on him. He would still be close to Barb's house, his school and routine wouldn't change much - but nooo. She's just in it to stick it to her mother using Jace as a pawn. So gross.

There are divorced parents who literally share a home (living one week on and one week off) for the sake of their kids. These assholes don't care anything about providing their offspring with stability and comfort.

I believe Cory lives in Clendenin, or close to it.

Amber can't live near any family or friends because of Matt keeping her far from them. He fears he would lose his precious commodity.

Like a farmer keeping his prized pig in the pen.

They film that infrequently? I was under the impression it was more like a few times a week...

If they film more than once a week, it is likely be due to some cast member having a cow and refusing to film.

Generally, they come for one week each month during the filming season.

Interesting, how do you know that? And you're saying producers come and stay for a full 7 days each month? If so, that's probably smart, because staying a full week probably gives them a good picture of what their lives are like. It's easy to fake it for a few hours each week, but much harder to fake it for a full 7 days.

That probably happens a lot w/all these girls, tbh, they've all gotten waaaay too entitled and diva. You can tell theyre all kind of sick of doing this show, but the money's good and they know they won't be able to make nearly as much for any regular job they're able to get. It's like the golden cuffs for them. I don't think a single one of these girls enjoy filming anymore, on TM2 or OG.

It's been mentioned on the series, in interviews and reunion specials through the years.  They'll come every month or so and film for a week or they'll come to town to film a special occasion (court dates, weddings).

LMAO at special occasions like court dates in the same sentence as weddings. Shit Janelle has how many smiling mugshots! Crazy bitch is SMILING!
