Not sure if anyone pays attention to the color commentary during football games but I’m a big fan of Romo as an analyst and I’ve heard him use the phrase “empty your bucket” a couple times now. He said it during the Raiders/Chiefs game last night too

I read that as Ramos, not Romo. And I'm thinking 'dude is commentating now, too??!?!'

"and who are the players wearing this season???'  "that colour is so great on his skin tone'  'the pants really match the jersey so well'

am i the only one that found the whole 'who are you wearing?' bit with Charlotte ass-clenching awkward and embarrassing?

Didn't a training camp candidate threaten to sue a few years back so they didn't show her in the show or her cut. "I'm going to sue" must be the magic word. No way the organization wants to deal with a lawsuit if they can avoid it.

Amy Reese. She got cut for weight gain during Season 5 (I think). She threatened legal action if they aired her office visit so they didn't. Her sudden absence was never explained much as Erica's has not been. But that was seven years ago and I would think they had improved the contract wording to keep that from happening again.

I surmise that it may be more of a "too much drama" situation and they just chose not to go there by even addressing it.

During the tour of The Star we saw old uniforms of the Cowboys displayed to show the progress, but WHERE are the old uniforms of the Cheerleaders?  Maybe they could get a corner in The Star to show their progression through the years, from poms, hairstyles, and the iconic uniforms.

Amy Reese was going for her third year when she was cut for allegedly drinking during the calendar shoot and missing curfew in Season 5. Rumors were floating around a few of the favorites ratted her out.

I had heard that story as well but had heard it was for weight by some. Regardless, she magically disappeared like Erica.

I think Kelli and Judy use weight gain as an excuse to call certain vets into the office when they are wanting to cut a veteran for another reason. Chelsea was called in for weight in Season 8, but she was cut for being toxic and poor dancing. In both their cases, I did not see enough of a weight gain for either one of them to be called out for it especially when there were veterans who did gain five or more pounds.

They should rephrase their slogan to "It is a privilege, not a right, to have a bucket to empty here at the Star". Charlotte's going to make people start carrying actual buckets.

Hahahah, what a perfect slogan for them! I can totally see the cheerleaders trooping in, holding buckets in each hand instead of poms...

On another note, can someone please tell me what is going on with KEYRA? At the beginning of TC I thought everyone loved her and her "firecracker" style. Now Judy is saying that she never saw that in her and doesn't know "what ya'all are talking about"?? I love Keyra, and I was hoping that she would make it on Show Group, as I think she seems to be every bit as good as Kalyssa, for instance. It just seems like we're getting lots of mixed messages on her...Kitty loves her, guest choreographers pick her out to compliment, yet Judy doesn't seem impressed at all.

They have an entire wall in their area and in fact during one of the last FB videos they filmed with the uniforms behind them.  I believe they also did a tour and we saw that section on the history also.

Right?! I was shocked by that in the episode too.  everyone was in love with Keyra, er style and power...either they're just trying to maintain the 'drama' of who will get cut, or theres no consistency in these women or a bit of column a and a little column b.  they are, in the words of Kelli 'consistently inconsistent'. i felt so sorry for her when she was told sexy wasn't her thing. she looked like she'd been slapped, so sad and a little insulted. bless her. i like her, i think she's got fire and spunk and when she's not being tied in knots being terrifed of K&J (she seems to dance worse when she's trying to empty her bucket than when shes just losing hersel in the dance) so I really look forward to watching her grow as a dancer over the season

and when they told Christine they'd not marked at all that her kicks were low and I was sitting here like 'ummmm what were the last x number of eps about then??' at the end of the ep when Taryn was  cut, and they all knew, and of course they'd reachhed the magic 36 (for all Kelli then tried to maintain the tension by saying they might cut more) all I saw when Christine was in the cheerleader doggy pile was relief that with Taryns cut she was likely in. no doubt next week will be subject to more tearful Ive been trying for this for five years, so to finally make it blah blah blah puke.

My two cents:  I think the reason why Kaitlin Legrand and Courtney Cook were discussed is because both had non DCC related personal issues.  Therefore K&J come off as caring employers.  I understand (although not exactly agree) that weight issues are a "minor DCC issue" and can get you cut IF there are better possible candidates to bring to training camp.  The Holly Jenna issue was a major DCC infraction, yet they ultimately only blamed Holly for the infraction and, based on what aired, only punished Jenna's leadership skills.  The DCC want to show that these type of infractions are punishable, but don't want to appear to the public that it runs rampant throughout the DCC. Which would explain why a few weeks later with Erica's infraction was just not discussed period.  I'm sure Kelli has some say on what is aired on CMT and since they gave CMT enough "juicy" stuff with Holly/Jenna saga that she felt she was within her right to ask Erica be edited out completely.  CMT doesn't want to tick off the DCC organization since they need their permission to even have this show.

Agreed! Usually any publicity is good publicity. However, since we’ve been reminded up the wazoo of the importance of the organizational cult preserving ridiculous images of  (1) ‘America’s Sweethearts’ and (2) the sacred privilege of working for the Dallas Cowboys (“TOUCH THE STAR...”), I think it’s plausible that Charlotte-the-Cowboys’-Chief-Brand-Officer (and Kelli’s boss) put the hammer down and said enough is enough. Two disasters are plenty, make that third one disappear.

I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall during those meetings where K&J and staff had to keep updating Charlotte on the latest dumpster fire in DCC country. I wonder if anyone privately joked about revising the title of the show from ‘Making the Team’ to something more in line with how training camp actually unfolded. (‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Girls Gone Wild;’ ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Torch the Star;’ ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Our Buckets Runneth Over’... )

Right?! Did I hallucinate the last 10 episodes? They have repeatedly said her kicks are low but this episode they're all like, "We have no notes saying your kicks are bad!". No notes from who? Anthony Ramos? The hairdresser judge? The janitor? Because I'm pretty sure the people whose opinions matter, like Kitty for example, would have notes that say her kicks do indeed suck.

It's like they know they are depserate for the numbers and are now back pedaling to make it seem like she is all of the sudden more game ready.

We see right through that garbage.

After the Hall of Fame episode,  I felt like not showing Erica drama (if indeed that is where she did sumpthin' bad) made sense to me.  They were stressing the major honor for the Cowboys and Jerry Jones and his family, how it was so historic, and yeah I can see that even alluding to cheerleader hijinks would tarnish that somewhat.    Coupled with the time spent on Holly and Jenna and it makes sense to edit this out.   I would have liked to see the whole real life drama unfold but I have come to a place of peaceful acceptance about it ✌?️

It really makes no sense though, the whole idea that she threatened to sue. What would she be trying to do? Avoid exactly what is happening now? Because being written off the show completely is not making her look good at all, since there is a thing called internet and social media and rampant speculation is going on. It would have been much better for both her and the Cowboys, if they had a segment that simply said "Erica has been injured, to prevent further injury she has decided it is best to leave the organization at this time, we wish her a full recovery." That could have been enough to prevent the casual viewer from digging any deeper. Instead, by trying to hide what happened, it is making it seem like something pretty terrible happened.

If she did sue them, well, she's a moron since she's the one who did something wrong, and I hope we never hear from her again. If she didn't, I would like to know why they handled this all so badly.

I agree 100%

Maybe she murdered someone? Chose to fill her bucket instead of emptying it? Made a porno with a fan while Jerry was giving his acceptance speech? Has a hidden video of Kelli and Judy's Sapphic longings? Maybe she kicked a puppy? Brought her C game? Danced for someone else's life?

Love it! ?

Seriously though, if she got the boot for drinking at the HOF game, maybe it has something to do with who she was drinking with? Maybe she was boozin' with Sam Finglass or someone in the Jones clan? Or Kelli's husband? Maybe doing body shots off of him? Oh dear... lol

Without integrity and ethics, super awesome dance skills are just that. Super awesome dance skills. Nick Florez was a guest choreographer/judge this season for DCC. He was a back up dancer with Britney when she was debuting "Oops". Bet he knows a thing or 2 about longevity and minding the rules. Doesn't matter how hard core you're hip hop skills are.  A bad rep is a bad rep. No one will hire an un coachable.

You know she's going to L.A. right?  Where the Kardashians have made their millions, where the Wienstein Company was founded?  No one there is going to give two shits what she does with her downtime.

I'm new here y'all, so please let me know if my passion for this show comes off as rude to any of you, but I think you're missing an OBVIOUS factor in K & J's dilemma when it comes to cutting Erica, Holly or Jenna.

They can't, because those three girls know where ALL the bodies are buried.  Anybody who thinks the DCC don't sleep and drink with players, or party they're 18-24(ish)-aged asses of is naive.  For example, so many people here have been trying to piece together why Erica was stupid enough to change her clothes and go have a beer with friends at the HoF game.  I think it's really simple; she didn't think she was doing anything wrong, because she's done it before.  And the organization is complicit, because it's looked the other way for years.

Think about all of the double messages the very young ladies have to parse!  "It's fine to shake my cash and prizes for the alcohol soaked men in the crowd, as long as I'm a sweet southern lady/girl-next-door that never has an impure thought."  "It's okay to push my boobs up and out, wear caked on make-up and almost no clothing, but I must refuse the advances of smokin' hot millionare men who are not only my age but are my PEERS, because it's my job to be an untouchable sexual fantasy with no fantasies of my own."  "Wait....maybe... OHHH!  I get it NOW! K & J just want me to PRETEND I'm pure and chaste, because they surely see the bullshit inherent in all these silly double standards!  Time to pop some bottles and go chase some fine ass Cowboy player tail, WHOOT WHOOT!  #notgonnawasteMYyouth"

Honestly, if any of those girls decided to tattle and the DCC was forced to cut all the rule-breakers, they'd end up with a 12 girl roster!

Long-winded post - apologies in advance, lol.

I was out of town when this episode aired and haven't watched it yet, and I really don't know if I'm going to bother. That's sad in a way because I've not missed an episode since the original 2005 2hr special, but at this point, I've kind of lost interest. More often than not I've understood and agreed with decisions that have been made, but there still have been plenty of times over the years that have made me scratch my head and wonder why they've chosen the way they have.  This season, and even the last season, those WTH moments far outnumbered the moments where I nodded my head in agreement.

It's no secret that there's always been a lack of consistency in who the rules/contracts are enforced on.  Represent well in public and an 'oops' or 10 get ignored.

It's no secret that these girls network like crazy to get an 'in' with the organization so they can get a leg up on the competition. Who you know counts as much (if not more) than what you can do.

It's also no secret that there are girls Every.Single.Year that party, date players, or snitch on teammates.  A bunch of  beautiful young women thinking they're invincible tend to get braver than they should.

With all of that in mind, it's kind of silly how they approached this seasons filming. This is a reality TV show, and they had enough changes in the roster that I'm guessing this may be their highest-rated season yet.  Rather than ride that wave, they downplayed the vet cuts, that if edited well would've shown their management in a positive light. Out of 12 episodes, we've seen <5 minutes of Holly, <5 of Jenna, and 0 of Erica.  These were highly popular and tenured vets trying to Make The Team; vets that viewers of the show were interested in, yet the time spent on them was minimal.

Instead we saw duplicate 'get to know' segments on forgettable rookies, we saw girls who can't remember choreo, who can't split, and who can't kick(!) get WAYYY too many chances and who probably won't make it next year. We saw filler with C-list celebrities with zero to offer give worthless commentary. We saw K & J say things in multiple episodes when critiquing TCC, then apparently denying saying those exact same things in other episodes.

There were a lot of positive things this season (HOF, more dancing) but damn - the nonsense outwieghs all of it IMO.

One last mention - I'm just really surprised & disappointed in Charlotte.  This woman is known for being a gutsy, strong-willed businesswoman and yet some airheaded, dime-a-dozen cheerleader throws a hissy  and she CAVES.  Maybe she needs to turn over the ultimate management of the DCC to daddy, because he would've put up with that sh*t for a hot second.  #credibilitylost #nogutsnoglory

Yes 100% to all of this!

Just adding in my two cents, I think the show spent way too much time and energy promoting and "showing off" how great the Cowboys organization is (remember, it's a privelege, not a right). We watch the show for the cheerleaders, not so much for the organization. If they want to show off the Star and gloat all about their fearless leader JJ, then have a 30 for 30 episode on ESPN instead of taking away airtime from a show about cheerleaders.

The show is getting way off mark too with all the "celebrities" they keep bringing in (the Demi Lavato nonsense, Anthony Ramos,  the random country singers). They should be filling that time by bringing back popular vets who we are more interested in and who make more sense being on the show. (Anyone but Cassie though).

I agree with other posters too that the extra episodes this season were a major fail. If CMT brings the show back another season and has extra episodes, add them to the end of season, past TC instead of auditions and finals. And leave out all the irrelevant and unnecessary fluff. And for GODS SAKE, if vets go rogue and get cut, freaking SHOW IT! Hopefully Shelly and team read all of our comments and take note.

I cringe every time someone from the Cowboys talks about “emptying their bucket.” When my kids were in kindergarten they read the book “How Full is Your Bucket” and used it as a guide for how they should treat one another. In a nutshell, you fill someone’s bucket by treating them with kindess and respect; you empty someone’s bucket when you are unkind with your words and actions.

Emptying your bucket (or someone else’s) is a negative thing. I understand how Kelly, Charlotte et. al., use the phrase on the show, but they’re missing the point.

I much prefer the bucket filling/kindness analogy vs the sacrifice yourself for the glory of the Jones family analogy ?

Maybe Jennifer was not willing to kiss up to Kelli and Judy when she was caught or ratted out and was given the axe. Amy might have been given a second chance and *gasp* gain a few pounds during TC and was given the DCC axe.

I see your point, and you're right. I guess I'm reflecting back to the times we've seen Charlotte put her foot down regarding behavior issues that came up in background checks. Alex Benevenuto had speeding tickets, K wanted her in camp, and Charlotte pointedly said no. I'm sure there are other instances I'm not recalling off the top of my head right now.

I had the impression that Charlotte was a no-nonsense type of manager, one that could wield a certain amount of power being a Jones in the DFW area. I also had the impression she wasn't very charitable to anyone who could damage the family business with unacceptable behavior.  JJ watches out for the DC bottomline and accepts some real jerks because they put butts in those over-priced seats and there's an ROI on every player.  The ROI on a cheerleader? One with injuries and  who is dumb enough to break rules on the job...?  Not so much.

It's my understanding Charlotte was involved with the Erica issue when it came up.  From what I've heard she caved, and the rationale was that it wasn't worth the additional distraction.

If true, it makes me wonder:  How sad is it that your contribution is so minor, that the boss doesn't even feel you're worthy of addressing, and just cuts you loose, lol.

What do you think happened, @sleepyjean?

I think it's likely she did break the rules. I also think it's possible that her medical issues are more complicated/different than we know, that they are career-ending, and are being treated as her private business. It could also be a combination of both. Sure, they've let us know about injuries in the past, but this may not be an equivalent situation, especially if her injury isn't the result of a specific event during rehearsal. You have to be so careful about medical privacy.

What I don't believe is that the Cowboys/CMT/production company chose not to show her because they were afraid of anything Erica might do or say. I can't imagine any of that is true, unless she was doing her rule breaking with someone who works for the Cowboys/CMT/production or Charlotte's daughter or something. That's the only think I can think of that would make them look like such a-holes that they'd want to cover it up. And in that case, they'd sweep it under the rug themselves, without any threats or  nonsense from Erica.

I think there's an important word left out of the bolded statement above. I think neither Jerry nor Charlotte are very charitable to anyone who could damage the family business with unacceptable PUBLIC behavior.

Great posts BTW, I'm enjoying the back and forth.

Ha. My friend used to live in a high rise where Jerry kept an apartment and he used to bring home girls that were not his wife, nor close to his age. Rumors say his wife Gene likes younger men as well.

Charlotte is cold as ice, and I'm sure has skeletons in her closet, but whatever they are, she's super discreet.

If for any reason KaShara (or any point for that matter in any season) became injured and could not perform during pre-game, what would happen?

1. Jenn K replaces her as an all star for that game, as a previous point dancer and therefore knowing the formations and transitions

2. Another cheerleaders dances point

3. The triangle would not have a point for that game and the second row (ie. Lacey and Jenna) would split point?

Ah - yes.  If it's PUBLIC behavior that hits the spotlight, it's one thing, while stuff that doesn't become public knowledge is another.

Had Bailey3606 not posted the situation on the internet when training camp was underway and the public attn was higher due to filming, I wonder if 'Holee' would've been called out at all.

Ditto on the back and forth.  :)

going back to the topic of publicity& trips for the DCC , I'm surprised that the cowboys weren't picked to play in London since 2014. We all know the cowboys & the DCC like to be "seen". If they managed to do a better job of producing the HOF - Ohio trip than what 's been shown at "home" - London should be excellent. Anybody remember if the SG went in 2014 ?

11/9/2014 @ Wembley stadium ; Dallas Cowboys 31 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 17 ; attendance 83,603

#justgohome

I disagree. I don’t believe the organization wanted anymore bad publicity.  They already had their hands full with Jasmine and Holly.  “Not another one,” I could hear someone saying. Jerry has just been inducted into the HOF.  They have a new facility they are hyping to anyone and everyone.  The DCC has always, to quote Jerry, “been the shining star” of the Cowboys.  To let this one go, was smart.

Right?! Did I hallucinate the last 10 episodes? They have repeatedly said her kicks are low but this episode they're all like, "We have no notes saying your kicks are bad!". Notes from who? Anthony Ramos? The hairdresser judge? The janitor? Because I'm pretty sure the people whose opinions matter, like Kitty for example, would have notes that say her kicks do indeed suck.

And this was her issue way back when she was in training camp before. Her kicks were terrible... It just didnt seem to have changed that much...

Finally watched the last episode.  Honestly, this season has been such a bad one, it took me awhile to even want to watch the latest installment of this snooze fest.  My only comment is why, why, why was Christina not cut?  Every time she's dancing, we see Kelli and Judy commenting on how bad she is.  Yet, she's on the team!  She seems like a lovely person, but there's been lots of lovely people who've auditioned and not made it.  Why is she getting such different treatment?

You know she's going to L.A. right?  Where the Kardashians have made their millions, where the Wienstein Company was founded?  No one there is going to give two shits what she does with her downtime.

Oh yes. Very aware of Holly's next big thing. Glumping onto a former dance mate who made his own way. On his own while holly was posting DCC  selfies he was working. The Kardashian babies were millionaires when they were toddlers so..perhaps a tad more connections? (Dad?) And the Weinstein family? Really gonna go there on this site? These are some strong independant/football lovin ladies we don't have time or breath for that name. God forbid Holly encounters a couch like that. Though the lack of acting training and connections/small town upbringing will surely lead her to one. She just failed her first casting couch on national tv...and if I'm not mistaken he was not gonna provide her with her first mega hit movie? #hessuperfasttho?

The Weinstein Company was founded first as MiraMax, Harvey lost that company and created TWC.  Both companies have been founded and headquartered out of NY.  They had an LA office, but the company was always headquartered out of NYC (Tribeca is where their offices are located).

Yeah, well the company is either going to close or completely restructure, without either of the Weinsteins...just my prediction. Holly has more important people to pursue.

Point taken.  But I was right about the Kardashians!  :-)
